The food is always a hit but also there's always huge lines, which is partly due to the horrible line system. Having to line up multiple times or have different people from your party lines just to get different meats is nuts. Especially at this location since it is always so packed. Do away with this system, and just have more standard way to take orders like taquerias or other takeout spots. Also no air conditioning is horrible especially with so many customers.
This place is a local mecca for street tacos. At 9:30pm, this place was still packed! Ordering food was a little clunky with the different lines and the wait was a little long after a tiresome day, but the food was worth it! We only had pork tacos as the beef lines were too long, but we will come back later in the week!
This place is always a must. If you're staying in Vegas, you should always make it a priority to come here for lunch or for late night. It's hits the spot every time. No lie, this specific location is probably the biggest cash cow on the strip racking in millions of dollars. I love their highly popular Al pastor meat; its crisp edges and tender texture makes it the best. It has just enough sweetness from the pineapple but not too sweet. The creamy green/white sauce poured on top is EVERYTHING! It tastes perfect. I have to have 6 tacos ($4) each every time. Pair these tacos with a plate of grilled onions and jalapeños too! The business comes in waves but notice the early afternoons are the lightest with a quick wait time. If you come at night/late night, the wait time standing can be about 25 mins even. Tacos El Gordo is THE ONE!!
Tacos El Gordo is a popular taco restaurant in Las Vegas, with this location on the Vegas Strip. It was a staple during my time in San Diego and I wanted to come here for lunch during my visit to Vegas. There is a small free parking lot which is convenient given its proximity to the Strip. There are lines for each meat that you want. Just a tip that there are two adobada lines which are usually the longest. Go to the one that's shorter for a shorter wait. We ordered the adobada ($4.12) and asada ($4.12) tacos. The adobada meat was okay and didn't have as much flavor as other locations I've had. I liked the meat of the asada and could taste and smell the char. It was more tender and the taco was slightly bigger. Adobada is usually my favorite overall taco but this time I preferred the asada more. There are lots of tables and is a bigger space than other locations. It's a good taco spot but they also sell fries and other Mexican fare.

I've gladly waited over an hour to get tacos, but the unfortunate part is when you come by yourself you have to basically choose one meat as it's impossible to get into another line. This time, however, I was with a group of five people so we were able to split up, but I was able to try a taco different than the pork (adobo.) usually when I come I usually grab tacos for me and my group so I'm stuck ordering 50 tacos at one time at one line. However, this time I was able to come with a group I think I'm absolutely in love with the tripe, I always love a good crispy, tripe taco, but I've never actually had it from here! Wow, it was absolutely incredible, it was so flavorful and crunchy!! I've also tried the quesadillas as well, but I don't personally care for the cheese they use. Even the corn tortillas are super fresh. Would highly recommend coming here. Just bring friends!

Well this place was super packed for being a Sunday night but when isn't it packed? But def not packed with tourists lol These locations always have super awkward lines that are tough to be in because of space and the counter in the way but look the wait is so worth it Their tacos their food is delicious and yummy Tables can be full but they empty out and you can find one eventually And price is not bad at all especially with prices being the way they are now
We stopped by Tacos El Gordo while walking the Las Vegas Strip and got lucky, the line wasn't out the door, so we decided to give it a try. It definitely lived up to the hype! The tacos were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My son ordered tacos with a side of French fries. They offer loaded fries if you're looking for something more indulgent, but he kept it simple with the regular fries and they were still crispy and tasty. The service moved quickly, even with a steady crowd, and the food was worth the stop. If you're on the Strip and happen to catch a shorter line, don't pass up the opportunity. We'd definitely come back!
The line is always long at this location, however, the taste of the tacos makes up for the wait. I had an Adobada taco and a Carne Asada taco, and both had well balanced flavors and the guacamole gave a nice touch. I opted for no Cilantro on my tacos and there was still plenty of flavor. I can't comment on service because mine were delivered to me. This location is on the Las Vegas Strip near the convention center. I have heard that this is one of the busiest locations in the valley.
My favorite is the cabeza and lengua taco. Luckily thats not the carne asada line. I've always thought tacos el gordo is ok. There's 2 in San diego. This location, the meat slicers are rude. This location doesn't seem as busy as the san diego one, but still, they're busy. They do work fast though.
Hands down one of my favorite and most affordable taco spots! It's located next to a busy plaza so parking can be quite difficult They're open daily 10am-2pm. Definitely recommend going when they first open because otherwise it doesn't matter the time or day of the week, the lines are extremely long! Love how spacious the restaurant and how organized it is! Once inside the restaurant, there are several lines and you just line up according to which meat and item you want. The longest lines are definitely the asada and adobada (pork)! Once you reach the front of the line, you just tell the staff which and how many of the item you want, as well as any customizations to it. After you get your order, you just head to the cashier line and paying is so easy and convenient! Pricing is reasonable. - Tacos, tostadas, taco aztecas - $4.12 - Sopes, quesadillas, vampiras, & mulas - $7.54. - fries with meat - $22.18+ - soft drinks - $3.31 Arrived at 11am on Sunday and it was already super crowded. Stood in the asada line for at least half an hour but the wait was so worth it! Got 3 Asada Tacos and the tortilla was so soft, hot, and fresh. It was stuffed with plenty of tender beef! The beef was packed with flavor and marinated so well! The pico de gallo was so delicious, as well as the salsa and guac. The Horchata was ok and nothing special since it wasn't made from scratch like the phenomenal tacos! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and my food. Definitely would recommend and return!
This place is absolutely delicious. My brother and sister in law always talk about it and I finally had my chance to try it. At first I was confused how the place runs but you literally just get in line for that you want. There were different stations that served different meat and items. I went to the adobada side and got 4 tacos with everything on it. We were served in about 2 mins. Then you take the food to the register to pay. All of the workers were nice and helpful. The place looks like a typical taqueria but bigger. The flavor of the tacos were delicious. From the sauce to the tender meat. I only had 4 tacos but if I could I would get 10. I also tried the horchata at the fountain drinks. It was a bit on the sweeter side which I don't mind but if you do add a bit of water.

The setup can be a little confusing at first since there are different lines depending on the meat, and you pay at the cashier, but it runs pretty efficiently once you figure it out. I also didn't realize they offer three different nacho sizes, which is actually super convenient. As for the food, the carne asada had a strong charcoal BBQ taste that didn't sit right with me personally. It just wasn't what I expected but still decent overall. Customer service was good--the cooks were friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was okay. PRICY!... Not my favorite go to spot, but still, I'll go here since we always stay at resort world and it's a good hangover food!
tacos el gordo has been a family favorite for years and frequented the first u.s. location in san diego back in the days...the setup in vegas is nearly identical to san diego...large space with multiple lines to various stations serving up different meats or fries....wish they had a picture menu....know tacos, but not everyone knows sopes, mulas, vampiro or taco azteca...not an expert, but sopes is like taco filling served on a thick corn pizza...mulas is like a taco sandwich...vampiro is like a crispier taco...azteca has the cactus...limit to knowledge...tacos and tostadas start at $4.12 for beef and pork, and other tacos are $4.44 for tongue and brain...standard french fries are available for $4.15...meat topped fries come in large orders for the standard steak or pork priced at $22.18 and $25.34 for tongue topped fries...tongue fries come in half orders for $12.67... mainly here for the tacos...starting with multiple orders of the steak and pork tacos...take it to the cashier to pay...get some drink cups and drinks are all self-serve...find a table and enjoy...love how different meats are topped and assembled differently...steak tacos are great, but the pork tacos were the family favorite...finishing quickly and back to order the next round and paying again....repeat a few times until full... read more
I went in with a big recommendation from a busy of mine. Walking in, and having to get a tray and line up according to what he's you wanted was ...... unusual. But, whatever. I got the steak tacos, because they didn't have chicken. Not that they ran out. They didn't offer it. Signs for other meats though. That was ...... unusual. Them, we sat down in a booth and ate. I'm not a huge asada fan, so this might be my bias. The tacos weren't bad. But, I wasn't blown away. I think I was too hungry to be objective. I would probably rank them as "ok." Some things to consider: 1. The place has a cafeteria feel. I prefer a restaurant style, sit down, and have a waitress come to serve me. 2. No chips and salsa. 3. It was crowded when we went. It was probably about midnight on a Monday or Tuesday. I can only imagine how hectic it is on a weekend. read more

What a great experience to come to Las Vegas and have some of the best Tacos out here! I will say getting the tacos took at least 30min and it took us first timers a while to figure out that depending on which taco you want, there are separate lines. There was plenty of seating indoors. read more
Wow, what a neat place, nothing fancy, but it is delicious. There are a couple different lines/stations that you go up to and order the tacos or items that you would like, you put your food on a tray and then can head over to pay at the cashier. While the tacos are a bit pricey imo at $4.12, I would definitely have them again! I ordered the asada (steak), chorizo, and adobada (pork). My favorite were the adobada, I did everything on top, not only was the meat juicy but it had a perfect Smokey/grilled flavor. I was so impressed how fast our servers cut the meat and then put together the tacos. The lines moved pretty quickly. Would definitely recommend making a stop here! read more
This place was poppin' at 3am. I've wanted to try it for quite some time now and finally did a couple weeks ago. It was REALLY good. I loved the quesadilla. Had I known how tiny it was I would have gotten more than the one. The asada taco was yummy too. The salsa was a bit spicy for us so I'm glad we got it on the side. It was quite a long wait though, my friend stood in line for nearly an hour! (while I saved us a seat). I would eat here in the future when I visit Vegas but I'm not sure that I'd want to wait that long again. read more

Stopped by for a late night taco run. I liked how there were different lines to order different types of meats (eg tripa, asada, etc) and food items (eg fries). I ordered a lengua taco, tripa taco, and cabeza taco. The cabeza was crunchy yet tender. Both the lengua and tripa were tender and flavorful. Everything really hit the spot. read more

Solid tacos near the airport. This place isn't quite like the OG in San Diego but decent. The prices are super reasonable for the amount of food you get. The tacos are super fresh made to order in front of you. The staff a friend and work super fast even though the lines are always long. Parking is hit or miss but definitely satisfies the taco cravings. Recommend the pork tacos read more
For the purests here's the quick and dirty facts: Best TJ style tacos North of the border, hands down made fresh to order with a good variety of meat. Must try include the adobo, lengua, chorizo and crispy tripas. Hard pass on the cesos and honestly in the asada too. There are much tastier things to eat. Everything is served on corn tortillas made to order or ask for flour. Grilled chilies and onions are available just ask. You can ask for tacos as they are served or "con todo" or modify as you like. In my opinion none of the salsas they use are spicy they just add flavor. There are several of these restaurants in Vegas with the one on the strip near the encore as the busiest of the four. You can order more than one kind of meat in the line youre in you don't need to line up at each kind. The strip location can suffer from very long lines so don't come hungry if it's a weekend or at night! This is a must have for every trip to Vegas or San Diego for me. It's not the fastest operation given the volume but staff are quick and helpful. read more
Second visit, this time for lunch. Still chaotic when it comes to lines and ordering. Customers are pretty clueless and forget they are here to order tacos and not refinance their mortgage. I the 10 minutes standing in line, you would think customers would figure out what is available and the number they want. If you want multiple types, split up and decide and figure it out. Tacos are street tacos type. Honest, simple and good. Seating is limited and people tend to set around but be patient and they will figure out to unass the place. My favorite now is the Adobado tacos! Rotating pork on a spit is cut to order for the Adobado. Savory, succulent and the additions added to the taco makes it delicious. I also had Carne asada tacos Azteca (with nopales). Very good as well. Customer service was excellent. While we were dining there we noticed a slight ebb and flow of customers. Good authentic taco spot on the strip. Make sure you line up in the right line for the order you want or you will be wasting your time. Carne asada and abadabo (pastor) are the two I had. Carne asada is better and the line is often 2-3x longer. Ambience is no frills fast food. A good post club snack. read more
I'm not a fan of Tacos El Gordo's San Diego locations. My first visit to this Vegas strip location had me hopeful. I had gone during off hours so there wasn't much wait and the tacos seemed good. My second visit wasn't so great. I went during normal dinner hours (around 7pm). The line wasn't out the door but there were about 15 parties ahead of me. It's painfully slow. You choose a station to line up for but you also can order items with different types of meat once it's your turn to order. This is better than the shops that make you line up again to get different meats. However, this makes the lines slower too since they have to request and retrieve everyone's different orders. Anyhow, everyone seems to be working hard. It's just inefficient and/or they can't keep up with demand. FOOD My adobada taco that didn't have burnt meat was ok. A 4/5. The burnt one, however, was pretty bad. 1/5. SEATING As busy as it gets, you can seemingly still manage to find seating. There are a lot of tables and even when they are all full, there will be turnover because this type of food doesn't take long to eat. read more

Went here around 10 am on Saturday and the line was short. We ubered from a lower part of the strip. I've been to this restaurant in their San Diego location. It was literally the exact same menu and seating inside. I ordered my favorite adobada tacos and carne asada fries. It was very consistent and tasted great as always. It is also very filling and I was full and energized until dinner. They also have free water cups and convenient restroom. My vegetarian friend asked for vegetarian tacos and I think it was cactus instead of meat but we did not ask. I don't think it tasted very good and is not vegetarian friendly at all. read more
What a gem, hole in the wall in a strip mall. Loved the pastor taco and the birria tacos were tender. The counters were separated by what you would order. Pastor on the left, etc. They put your food on a tray and you take it to the cashier to get drinks and pay. There is a station with radish slices and limes, also. I love the tacos here. I loved that the Asada is cooked over an open flame and you can really taste the smokiness with this meat. I love the way the asada is seasoned as well as the cook on the Asada. The Tripas were excellent. They had a great crunch to them and they were dressed really well. The Suadero was tender and full of flavor. Tacos El Gordo is on the strip for a reason, because this is some of the best tacos you can get. I highly recommend going! read more

So sad, this place is supposed to be popular and good for the tourists! The food was served sloppily. Got Asada fries. They leave the cheese on a separate plate not even melted. The service was just horrible! Rude all around. The environment just wasn't it, no happy inside. read more

Got our food super quick after coming in roughly 3:30 PM Parking was easy to find within the plaza ~4.15 per taco Everything is made in house and fresh, and the ordering lines made pickup of food very straight forward. Probably wouldn't wait in line for these as they are just alright in my opinion--nothing super crazy to rave about read more
Lines for diff meats on tacos. They dont seem to stick to this strictly which causes a slow down when someone orders something from a diff line. Pricing is good, al pastor are the best followed by carne asada. The drink selection is a bit limited, but gets the job done. read more

No! It's more of an experience. The food is freshly cooked and they chop it up and make right in front of you.
What are they're busiest times?
We went around 11am to no lines on a weekday...I'm guessing afternoon until closing is super busy... try the mulita...off menu item and maybe better than the tacos 👍🏾

Yes, you can have corn tortillas (not flour, so no wheat). Or just have a salad (they have several vegetables besides lettuce and tomatoes, especially at the salsa bar).…

Not that they advertise on the menu but you should absolutely go and ask them! You could always do like a bowl with no rice or scape the toppings off and just eat them. The food is that good you should definitely be able to make something work.…
Did this taco place relocate or remodeled ? (Last year I was there they were near a plaza. 'm asking bc someone told me they closed their location? I'll be in Vegas so this is one spot I want to eat at.

Do the onions and jalepeno automatically come with tacos or do you specifically order that?
I didn't get any onions or jalapeno with my tacos, they didn't ask me either if I wanted some so just guessing you have to ask. They did put salsa on top tho.

Hi Bianca this restaurant does not have direct delivery. May want to check thru Doordash.
Is this place open during quarantine?
Yes from what I understand still open and they're not really practicing social distancing in the lines either.
Do they have a lot or where can I park?
Yes, it's in a strip mall area so you can park in the lot, or take an Uber
Is this location re-opened? Last time I went here, it was closed for renovation.
It moved to the corner of the same shopping center It's open now
