On my way to the gym next door I stopped in to take a look the music was definitely a vibe. Stared at the menu contemplating to stick to my regime by going to planet fitness or experience something new..... The obvious choice here was that I stayed and ordered food. The menu was easy to read large print and pictures so you really can't get too confused they also offer vegetarian protein option and beyond protein option. So again to ease my failed attempt at going to the gym I ordered the "Green Dog" with a veggie sausage. The cashier was clearly in training and I believe she accidentally Entered for my order to have a beyond sausage and I am very familiar with the flavor and taste and texture of beyond meat which I do not like so when I got home and been to my hotdog was very disappointing but the toppings were great and the bread was wonderful. So me and my boyfriend returned for round two of the churros the next day. He ordered a hot dog with a classic beef sausage and experience was much better but I will still say this much the churros are my favorite thing on the menu!!! I got the new Tapatio Dog, Tapatio Corn, Snoop's Dogg, DUI fries and a watermelon agua fresca and pineapple agua fresca. Everything was absolutely amazing. The Tapatio Dog was my favorite with bacon wrapped hot dog, grilled veggies and chicharrones on top. It had a bit of a kick yet sweetness due to the veggies. The perfect balance! If you're craving burgers and wanted to splurge on calories, Dirt Dog (now Drips) is the place to be! I had the cheeseburger loaded with caramelized onions and really enjoyed the slightly sweet bun which was nicely toasted. The side of fries was crispy, reminding me of Rallys but fresher. I also got the strawberry shortcake cheesecake to-go which was a hefty dessert, enough to share between two people. The packaging for the cheesecake was really thoughtful too. The interior is a cool neon blue color with different sports on every channel. Although I am not a sports fan, the multiple TVs displaying sports was not overbearing like a typical sports bar since they were muted and hip hop music was playing instead. The Elote Dog (made vegetarian) was the best preparation of a Beyond Meat hot dog I have ever enjoyed. The sausage oozed savory flavor, and had the perfect snappy bite that can be difficult to achieve with mock meats. It was enhanced by the ample elote toppings. Skip the Lobster Bun upgrade though; it was too big, and threw off the meat/toppings to bread ratio. My husband kept it classic and got a regular hot dog on a regular bun, and enjoyed it a lot. We liked the Filthy Fries (no bacon), but the guacamole tasted off. Lastly, do not skip the Deep Fried Oreos. The crisp coating contained what tasted like ultra-moist chocolate fudge cake. All of the hot dogs were high quality and juicy, but my favorite was the Green Dog because they had chimichurri sauce and guacamole on top. The Tapatio elote was soft and creamy with just enough spice to give it a nice kick. Overall, the portions of each dish and especially the hot dogs were massive. We definitely left feeling full and satisfied. Even the service here was great! The cashier and servers greeted us when we arrived and were polite and friendly during our whole visit. Well fast forward to today and I found out there's a location in Long Beach where I now work. I tried the Snoop Dogg and it was great! I was craving bbq flavor and it definitely had it! The slaw inside added a nice texture too! Only reason why this review got 4 instead of 5 was my table, and at least 4 other tables had not been wiped down. Stumbled upon this food establishment in near the traffic circle in Long Beach. To my surprise this place has been in business for about a year prior to my discovery. I walked in and was promptly greeted by the inviting smell of delicious food. There menu had so many good delectable items to choose from, wish I could have ordered it all. The customer service rep at the counter was very nice and helpful. I asked what was the most popular dirt dog "hotdog" people ordered, he mentioned the Dui Dog. So I ordered that and a elote cup. The DUI dog was very delicious, nice and hearty meal chalked full of flavor. I really like the two options of buns to choose from: regular hot dog bun or the texas toast. I for sure went with the texas toast as it complimented everything in the bun. I recommend everyone give this place a try, it is worth it! I'll definitely return.
