Wow! Not sure why it took me this long to check this place out. My sis and I had the chili dog, elote dog, fries, agua Fresca watermelon and fountain drink. The Elote was definitely our favorite! Ohh I forgot my sis picked up some deep fried oreos to go. I was too full to even have a bite. But I did try it a little later and ohhh my goodness it was delicious. The horchata whipped topping just made it even better. We were pretty satisfied with all the sauces and toppings. We went for the regular bun. I had the triple smash burger. And it was fire. The staff was amazing and helpful. They checked in on us as we ate. The plain fires are crispy yet soft and tasty on the inside. The burger was juicy and had what I believe are caramelized onions on them paired with their house sauce. Patties are smashed down with that crisp you like on the edges and putter. Then topped with cheese that's melted. Makes for a great smash burger. It I believe their Smash Burger is exclusive to this location. The overall feel of the restaurant feels Modern with a salute to the city it's in Long Beach. This spot is the definite must try for locals and tourist. It will become a staple in your food rotation. Long story short; Amazing & delicious, everyone needs to try Dirt Dog. But I'm here to make the story long so here goes lol. My girlfriend and I have been wanting to come here for a long time now! We finally decided to come to the LB location and it was dope! From the outside, all you see is a small Dirt Dog sign on the building and that's about it. It's in the corner too so it's a bit hard to see, I circled the lot a second time and found it haha. When you walk in the first thing you see is a painting of Snoop Dogg and a small figure of him too. To the right of entering there's a bunch of pinned up pictures and signed bills. Pretty cool! What I loved the most was the 90s hip hop playing the entire time! It's like the music never stopped playing when I turned my car off! My girlfriend ordered the Chili Dog & I had ordered the Patty Melt. Both Dogs were bomb! Normally anytime we eat I'm always done with my food before my girlfriend starts eating; and today my gf actually killed all her food! And can't stop talking about how good it was! We also ordered the Garlic Fries, bomb too! After eating that we waited a bit and got a couple fried Oreos. They're served with a Horchata whipped cream, soooo delicious! We ordered double smash burgers and fries. Both were really good. The buns were soft but didn't come apart while eating. The meat was crispy around the edges and seasoned well. There was a decent amount of cheese and sauce (which they call drip). I added hot peppers to mine which takes it to another level in my opinion. The fries were yummy. The only part that was sort of different was that they gave you a little cup of ketchup which wasn't nearly enough for the amount of fries that you receive. But everyone who worked there was nice and helpful and brought more ketchup and napkins when we asked for them. We also tried the cookies and cream dipped cheesecake and I wasn't expecting much but it was good. The atmosphere of the place was basketball themed with basketball on TV. Pretty cool! Wifey and I stopped by here for dinner and were not disappointed! This spot is located near the traffic circle in a plaza with lots of parking. The interior of the shop is a great nod to the artists who have influenced the culture in LA. The staff here are very welcoming and friendly. They have very unique options and you can't go wrong with any of them. The must try one for me was the elote dog! It was such a perfect blend of an elote and a hot dog. I never get grilled onions and glad I tried with this place it was a light sweeteness that paired great with the spicy and salty! The patty could use some salt and pepper it had zero seasoning. OMG I love this place! So does everyone at work! Every Wednesday we try and think of new places to try for lunch and dirt dog always comes up. It's by far everyone's favorite. It's not just hot dogs. It's the creative and delicious way they top these dogs that make it wonderful. And their customer service is the bomb! [Review #680] 2021 Yelp 100 Challenge (106/100) OTM Club 12/12/21 - 12/18/21 I don't need much incentive to visit Dirt Dog (refer to Review #658), but it doesn't hurt when OTM Club offers a curated Tapatio Dog. They recently expanded to Long Beach in the Circle Center Shops north of Planet Fitness. This time I brought my brother & son to enjoy this gourmet dog deliciousness. Service is friendly & exceptional like the Downey location, we were warmly greeted by Jacquelyn & placed our order: 2 TAPATIO DOGS (center cut bacon, serrano spread, red sauce, grilled veggies, Tapatio aioli, chicharrones, queso fresco, cilantro) for me & my brother, TAPATIO CORN (Tapatio compound butter, Tapatio aioli, queso fresco, cilantro), DIRTY ESQUITE (lime, mayo, chile powder, cotija, cilantro, bacon bits), & GARLIC FRIES (garlic confit, parsley, garlic seasoning, garlic dip) to share, & CHICKEN NUGGETS MEAL (7 piece nuggets, kids fries, Oreos, kids drink) for my l'il guy. The Tapatio Dog replaced the Red Dog (spicy red sauce, chipotle aioli, onions, red & green bell peppers), which I loved; though change can be worrisome, this new version is absolutely a fantastic marriage of flavors with added chili heat (spicy but not overwhelming) & unctuous yummyness from bacon! While I enjoyed the Dirty Esquite (it was also a lot easier to eat out of a cup), I prefer the bangin' heat & buttery Tapatio Corn. There's a nice bite of heat & a backend kick that creeps up, catching you off guard. Nom, nom, nom... you gotta try both! The perfect fry... crispy on the outside, mashed potato-like on the inside; I've always loved garlic fries, but Dirt Dog's ups the garlic pow with multiple ingredients: confit, seasoning, & dip. I was super ecstatic when I found out they were opening up a location near me. I have been seeing their loaded dogs everywhere on social media, and the last time I was in Vegas, I did not get the chance to stop by and try it. Good food. Portions were good. The chili dog was yummy and I really liked the bacon on it. Hard to eat and they didn't give me utensils with my to-go order lol. Maybe that was on me but the bag was stapled shut and they didn't mention utensils so I figured they'd be inside. Anyway, the fries were good too. Warning though, everything is extremely salty here. Why don't mind if I do come back and visit one of my favorite spots to eat at and even more excuse to do so with their new hotdog they have on the menu their Tapatio Hot Sauce dog. This dog definitely has some kick to it so be ready for it but You can request a milder version of it just in case you don't want to feel hot under the collar once you start eating it. I am so happy that Dirt Dog now has a location in Long Beach. Be sure to come hungry as the food is really filling. The lobster bun is a must have with your hot dog. You get to choose between that & a regular bun (which I'm sure is great as well). The lobster bun is so good I could eat that by itself. I had the tapatio hot dog which was incredible and super flavorful. Be sure to grab lots of napkins as you will definitely need them. I don't do incredibly well with hot stuff but I really handled the spice quite well. I also got dui fries which are sooooo good!! I love the pastrami, it's not tiny bits of it but large pieces with the fries. For dessert I had a churro & deep fried oreo. WOW. I had no idea what I was missing. The fried oreos are a must. I heard Dirt Dog opened a location in LB on social media and I rushed to try it out. They're still new so it was pretty empty inside. There's plenty of parking outside and the inside has a very hip ambiance with cool murals and music. Their menu was overwhelming because it had a lot of selections but the cashier was very helpful walking me through the menu and giving me recommendations. I went with the elote dog with the lobster bun which is 50 cents more and dirty fries. Both were good, the elote toppings tasted just like elote and the spicy ketchup for the fries were good. We took a walk to Dirt Dogs for Dinner since it's near our place. Didn't realize Dickey's BBQ Pit got replaced. It's pretty chill and hip in there. And when I say hip, I don't mean hipster either. The layout is the exact same as it was but the walls have murals on em of Snoop Dogg, a baseball player (sorry don't know who since I'm not in to baseball), a mural in the back that I didn't catch and on the other wall are a bunch of mini Polaroids. There's a speaker in the corner that plays music. I like the vibe there but if you don't like music at a high volume, you might not want to dine in. We tried the Pastrami Dog and Filthy Fries. Both were so yum! My kiddos are lame and got a plain bacon dog, chicken nuggets and fries - they said they really liked it.
