Rainy day at the beach, decided to come to Dirty Dicks for some lunch & libations... The bartender was really nice but the oyster guy- Cassene, who we met here last year, was Super Nice. He had never shucked an oyster before he came here, and wasn't too shy to admit it. Not that we would have been able to tell as he shucked like a pro, but it's comforting to see folks here year after year. Guy is genuine and we wish him THE BEST in his soccer career.

Pretty good seafood! I know the restaurant name is weird and crazy but dont let that fool you. Delicious. Nicely cooked, and good ataff. Fried crab lasagna was different. The ddx oysters was awesome. Cheese, crab and oysters

DDs is always a treat! Warmly greeted by Sherri! Got waters & drinks. Hush puppies were delish! A bit of a mix up on MY PART. Quickly fixed by Sherri & Sabrina!!! Oysters were a bit large but great. Crab cake sammy hit the spot! Flounder was perfect! Shrimp Po Boy was the best I have seen outside of NOLA!! Salmon was tasty! Nice merch store too! Got me some koozies! Interior is beach cozy with all the sea motifs! Again, Sabrina & Sherri made the night!

Tasty Jambalaya Wrap and don't forget to ask for the house made Ranch dressing for dipping. It was light and delicious!

After an entertaining photo op, before you even enter this fun restaurant, we treated wonderfully by our young waiter. I can't recall his name but we received plenty of 'Yes, Ma'am's' from this attentive server. The ambiance is geared for a fun meal experience and it doesn't disappoint! We stuck to the lunch menu and enjoyed wonderful food a tasty drink. This is a don't miss spot while in the area!

Friends who stayed at our place in April 2025, told us that they ate at Dirty Dick's four times during their one week stay! They loved the food and especially the shrimp. So, after ten years of being here for 12-14 weeks each year we decided we needed to try it. The goofy motif of the place probably put us off trying it earlier. No joke, it looks like a tourist trap. We went for lunch and found it to be very good. It is not the low-end place that it appears to be. We dropped over $50 for a plate of shrimp and a bowl of soup, never-the-less it was good and after all prices are not what they used to be. Ms T ordered a Fried Shrimp platter with fries. The shrimp are the nicest we have had in a while and that is saying something. They were large, fresh, plump and flavorful. Hopefully it is an anomaly, but the shrimp were not quite done. They were acceptable to me, but just. She definitely wanted them cooked just a bit more. Don't misinterpret this. We know that overcooked shrimp is not what you want, but these were nearly translucent. My bowl of crab soup was interesting and a bit surprising. First, it was thick, but not the pasty construction adhesive goo that we were served the previous week at O'Neal's Sea Harvest in Wanchese. This was a good consistency. The surprising thing was that it was sour. This was not expected. The first bite was,,,,"what is this?". The second was, "maybe this is OK?". After that I warmed up to it and liked it a lot. She did not. I would order it again. It tastes like it has an acidic cheese melted in it. They serve good fries, and the coleslaw is acceptable, with more of a sour cream dressing than I like, but none of it went to waste. All-in-all we had very good food, albeit not the cheapest. You get what you pay for, I guess. We can eat essentially the same meal at Shipwrecks for $15-20 less with quality that is close, but I will not rule out a return visit.

Good, but not excellent quality food. Affordable prices. Good service. Local ambiance. Good price for crab legs. They tasted someone fresh. Hush puppies tasted good. Cheeky language here. Father in law had the steak. Mother in law had the clams. Son had the chicken Alfredo, but he didn't like that too muchz

A mainstay in the OBX, we always stop in 1x each trip here. While we usually frequent the DD in Avon, we were staying in kitty hawk so we tried the one here in kitty hawk/nags head. Wife loves the shrimp and grits and says the grits are better than most higher priced restaurants in the area....didnt disappoint. I had the blackened chicken with tricolor pasta....too much to eat!

Shout out to our wonderful waitress Sabrina! She was absolutely amazing! This spot was perfect for our group of 13 adults and 1 kid. Sabrina was attentive and got all our orders right prefect! Our table shared some apps. The oysters were great. My father in law loved the baked oysters. And the coconut shrimp and calamari and gator was fantastic! My main was okay. I should have gotten a smaller fish. The shrimp and grits was a little too much flavor for me. It said creole but it was giving me salsa vibes I would suggest something simpler for a main. My husband liked his crab melt

Really good place while visiting. We had a late dinner - around 7:15 - and were seated right away when we arrived. It was still pretty busy and most tables were full. Our waitress, Nina, was awesome. She was really hustling to serve all her tables and was very patient and kind as we were new to the place and asked a lot of questions. The market prices were clear and Nina did a great job explaining to us what she'd prefer. The food was really good. Great, kid friendly place with a lot of families with young ones in attendance.

    Hush puppies plus Aidan!

Great food! Shout out to my waitress Sheri yo. Her son was also really tuff (he works there too ) Gave us some southern love in the form of free hush puppies, HELL YEAH

I woke up...and had a delicious time! The reviews here tell you how great this place is, and well...believe them! I thought for sure it would be over-hyped and not live up to what people write and say, but I will admit to being wrong. First, our server, Krickett, was agreed upon (by my partner and I) to be the best server we have ever had. She was friendly, outgoing, had good recommendations, and an all-around joy. Second, the food! Wow! My partner had a salad...simple enough, right? But no, she was amazed by it. And she is a vegetarian, so she has had a lot of salads over the years. This one blew her away. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. Was it life-changing? No. But it was way better than what a grilled chicken sandwich normally is. It was tender, juicy, with just the right seasoning. I would be a criminal if I didn't mention the bruschetta...get it with the burrata...it is worth it! The crispy bread with balsamic drizzle is good enough with the diced tomato mix, but the cheese gives it a new level. And, I hope you saved room for dessert, because the key lime pie was a mouth explosion.

The restaurant has two distinct dining areas: the front section is first-come first-served bar seating that offers the full menu. The back section, which would be ideal for families, holds about 30 tables, mostly booths, with the hostess stand. We chose to sit at the bar and had a great experience. We started with bruschetta topped with burrata cheese. I ordered the angel hair pasta in a white garlic butter, cream sauce with marinated chicken and grilled vegetables. My husband ordered the special hamburger with Swiss cheese bacon, spinach and mayo with a side of fries. We ended with slices of the key lime pie that didn't disappoint! The food, service, staff and environment were exceptional! We overheard the Server mention that veterans receive complementary meals on Veterans Day, which speaks volumes about how this restaurant supports those who have served. If you are in the Outer Banks- whether you're staying in Kill Devil Hills or nearby- this restaurant is worth the drive and all the hype!

After one visit, I completely understood why he kept coming back! The restaurant has the perfect laid-back beach atmosphere. The bright, colorful décor immediately puts you in vacation mode and creates a fun, welcoming environment. My son ordered the mussels and the salmon. The mussels were the standout of the meal--steamed perfectly and served in a rich, garlicky white wine broth that was so good you could easily soak it up with bread until the bowl was empty. The salmon was beautifully prepared, looked fantastic, and judging by the empty plate, he thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I played it a little safer and ordered the fish and chips, and I have zero regrets. The fish was perfectly fried with a crispy, golden coating while staying flaky and tender inside. It was seasoned well and full of flavor. And as someone who can never resist great fries, these definitely hit the mark--hot, crispy, and the perfect complement to the fish. Between the delicious food, relaxed beach vibes, and friendly atmosphere, Noosa Grill made for a very enjoyable dining experience. It's easy to see why it's become a favorite among both locals and seasonal visitors. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the OBX!

When we arrived, it took a little while, but the server who greeted us was very friendly. To be fair, it was Friday night and the place was packed. The wait staff was in constant motion. It took a while to get our Rockfish dip appetizer which was probably the food highlight. It was filled with chunks of fish and was creamy and seasoned well. It took FOREVER to get our entrees and frankly, they were just ok. There was nothing special or even particularly good about them. I had the potato-scaled puppy drum and it was just extremely bland and uninteresting. It was served with mashed potatoes that did not seem like something made in-house. My wife had the fish tacos and they were just average in her opinion. The real kicker though is the ambiance. It was LOUD! The only sound-absorbing surface in the whole place is the ceiling tile. Everything else is reflective. Just the noise from the energetic patrons is enough, but then they were playing a collection of fringe, obscure rock, punk rock, retro soul and other genres which was not particularly pleasant and made the noise level unbearable. My wife and I could not converse across the table without repeating ourselves frequently. Perhaps the patio would have been a better choice. Some people may enjoy this kind of an atmosphere, but we could hardly wait to leave. Given all of the other excellent restaurants in the area, we would not go back to Dune Street.
