When I asked for a referral at work, a colleague highly recommended this company to me, and they moved us this last weekend. Phil is the owner, and there were 3 movers, with Pedro in charge. Showed up on time, immediately started working and did not stop all day until everything was done, did an awesome job at wrapping, no scratches and broken items whatsoever, no wasted time. Professional and positive attitude, helpful advice, too. When they brought 3 big boxes upstairs all the way that I forgot to tell them to put in the garage instead, and I told them they needed to take these all the way back to the garage, no attitude whatsoever, no problem, will do. I am too busy to write any reviews, so for me to write one it means it was either a really outstanding or a really bad experience. I really appreciated having Discount Movers help me with this move, as this was the first time I felt I did not waste my money on movers. I have moved 5 times in the last 5 years, and had different movers every time ranging from bad to worst (not showing up on time or at all on a scheduled day, walking to their truck with one tiny box and not coming back for 40 minutes just standing there doing nothing until you go and ask them to come back). The movers from Discount Movers arrived at my house ahead of schedule and went right to work. They loaded all my furniture and belongings in just 90 minutes. They were courteous and efficient, working so well as a team. They got heavy and bulky furniture through doors more easily than previous movers had done and were careful not to damage the steps going down from my front door. When they arrived at my destination they went right to work unloading, making good use of every trip. They carried as much packing material back to the truck on each trip as possible, and cleaned up very well after themselves. They handled my furniture in a professional manner without any scratches. There was nothing missing. They worked quietly, respecting one another, and always sensitive to where I wanted things located. They never hesitated when I asked for something to be moved just a few inches. There was no loud radio, no unnecessary conversation, and no sense that something was someone else's job. They worked so well as a team. And the cost of this move was much less than I had budgeted. The President of the company contacted me several time to be sure things were all done to my satisfaction. After calling several moving companies to get an approximate cost to move the contents of our 1500 sq. ft. house from North Orange County to Lake Havasu City, AZ, we asked Phil to come out to our home to give us a price quote. We chose Discount Movers, because of the courteous phone response, professional attitude, and reasonable price quote, we were given. We were not at all disappointed. The 3-man team that showed up within the time slot quoted, started working very quickly and efficiently after perusing the contents of our home. We felt very comfortable that our furniture would arrive without damage, because of the thorough and careful way everything was handled. We were most impressed by Pedro, who it turned out to be the supervisor and driver, who took the truckload of our belongings from CA to AZ, and supervised the 2-man team hired in Lake Havasu, Pedro and the other two men, who packed very carefully and worked really hard to get our belongings safely moved, are an asset to Discount Movers and represented the company well. I have seen some negative reviews here, with vivid descriptions about rude telephone conversations and incompetent moving guys. I will guarantee these complaints were NOT about Discount Movers that is located in Placentia, CA, with Kim and Phil. These YELP reviews can get confusing and some are from Las Vegas and other places. I hired Discount Movers which is located in Placentia, CA to move from Orange to Walnut, California. Everything was perfect from the first phone call with Kim, to her followups, to Phil coming out to my house to check on the volume of the move, to the moving men, Johnny, Francisco, and Gary . . . three REALLY strong guys with great personalities. Their price is fair for the work they do, the high cost of fuel and everything related to running a small business in Southern California. I cannot say enough good things about everybody at Discount Movers and I HIGHLY recommend using them! They are simply the BEST! read more

THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME. First off, I never write Yelp reviews but these guys deserved one! We called Discount Movers last minute for a next day move. We had an 3 apartment on the 3rd floor and moved into a two story house. The crew was on time and SUPER fast! Total gentlemen and completely dedicated to taking care of my property. I WOULD 100% RECOMMEND THEM! Note: I received quotes from OTHER companies for $2,700 to $4,700! I was shocked When I called and got the quote form Discount, I was relieved at their price. Honestly I was worried at what I was getting for the low price... I was SO pleased with their work. I will never use another company. Be careful... the other companies were totally OVERCHARGING! I am a recent widow and scared that I would not make the right decisions in moving my items to the next location. Discount Movers was recommended by a friend who used them when she sold her house and moved. I called them when my house sold and I had to be out in 30 days! They were able to fit me in their schedule and the two movers they sent were skillful in loading everything into the truck they supplied based on my description of things to move. They wrapped my furniture and fragile items in blankets and shrink wrap. They drove my things to the new location an hour away and nothing was broken or scratched. We used Discount Movers twice these past two weeks. Once to move part of a 5-bedroom house to Orange to San Marcos, and the second time, a week later, to move the rest of the house to storage. They were amazingly organized and had phenomenal teamwork. It was like watching 5 guys with one brain. They wrapped all the furniture and moved it carefully but rapidly from house to truck and then from truck to house/storage unit. They were always courteous and affable to us and had great camaraderie. That we would use them again so soon after the first move, is a testimonial to the quality of the job they performed. I don't usually do Reviews, however I strongly felt I needed to take the time to write this. Phil was very knowledgable he gave me a quote and told me what to expect. We moved from OC to San Diego County so I was very concerned about cost. The quote was very accurate, In addition the 2 guys who showed up were Awesome! They were on time, they moved very quickly were very respectful to me and my stuff. We had no issues. I was just moved in by Adrien and Ricky, and I cannot recommend them enough. They showed up on time (early in fact!), they were polite, they took good care of my stuff, and they were very fast! It was a small move, but a tough one, moving all my stuff from an upstairs bedroom to an apartment that had half the floor torn out, and they never complained, just cracked jokes and made the best of it. If I ever move around in this area again I'm gonna skip the middleman and go straight back here and ask for them by name. They were so nice and really made the whole move feel easy and fast. Using this company was a great experience. I would recommend them to anyone in need of assistance during a move. They are competitively priced, diligent, punctual, they hustled, and most importantly were very polite and hardworking to my pregnant wife and young daughter. Moved my elderly mother's lifetime of belongings from her mobile home to storage to our house. I had 3 movers who were extremely efficient, thoughtful, polite and hard working! They wrapped everything and asked questions if they had any doubts about where something was going. Even though one of our three movers called in sick on the day of our move, the other two more than made up for his absence. We had a few VERY heavy objects, and they muscled them safely and without damage. We had two flights of stairs to go up and down, and these guys were not phased by it - took them like walking on a flat surface. Not one piece of anything was damaged, and their cash-price discount was really helpful. Needed to move from 1 BR apartment to a small house a mile away. Movers arrived on time and went right to work wrapping the furniture. I had moved all the smaller items myself. They wasted no time and moved everything in the time I anticipated. They were quick to unload and furniture suffered only minor scratches(expected; no one is perfect!) No problem with pricing at end of move. One problem occurred after they left. Bed was not firmly screwed at the base. Manager (Johnie) came within 10 minutes and corrected the mistake. I have used this company three times and each time the experience was as good as I could have hoped. They always show up on time, are polite and efficient and very careful with the goods. I had some delicate furniture and an upright piano each of which were handled with care. I never felt they were dragging out the job, but rather they kept moving until the job was done.
