My husband and I bought our home in 2020. The pipes are older than the both of us combined. We knew this would eventually be a problem. In 2023, discount came out and quoted us for new sewer lines and water lines and I decided with two young kids, the extensive repairs would disrupt too much at the time. Fast forward to 2025 the kids are more reasonable to manage and not QUITE as messy. After noticing yet another leak- we were finally ready to tackle the project. Discount sent out my original plumber to talk about the job. He remembered me and the house which was nice. I let him know I'd be gathering a few more quotes. Not only did Hector honor his two year old estimate he originally gave, it was the most honest estimate I received without any corner cutting or "work arounds". He aimed for doing things the right way which I appreciated. After talking with multiple companies, I felt most comfortable with Hector. Out of all the plumbers I met, he was just the most honest and trustworthy. So Monday- Hector, Gabriel, and Angel came out and worked constantly from when they got here until they left for 3 days- when the job was done. It was a big job with some hiccups. That leak I had noticed- ended up being a bigger issue than it looked to me at first. Hector could have made me figure it out on my own- instead he jumped in and helped me to get in contact with the right people who can handle the job as it wasn't a plumbing problem by that point. He didn't have to help, he chose to go that extra bit to relieve some stress, which was very appreciated. While this team was working, they were extremely professional, handled all my questions (and the incessant questions and meddling from my 5&7 year olds), Hector was constantly communicating, and always considering how to make us most comfortable. They were clean and went so far as to tuck in my outdoor chairs (that they didn't even use) for me every day and clean the floors just to make sure the areas they worked always looked better when they left, than they did when they came. I highly recommend discount, and this team specifically. They resolve issues and miscommunications seamlessly and the cost of the job never had any surprises. I will be getting in contact with Hector again to fully finish and tackle the kitchen & laundry sewer pipes next- again a job I've been saying "not yet, I'll do it in a few more years" because I'm nervous to put my kitchen and laundry out of work. Discount Plumbing was referred to me by my contractor brother-in-law. I called around noon regarding a possible water leak and my two technicians arrived promptly at 3:00, as promised. WARNING! This price gouging company is not professional! We.had them come out to clear a clogged pipe from the house to the main in July. Which we do as a yearly maintenance on this main. So we know the drill, how much it typically cost, how long the service lasts until the next maintenance call etc. After the technician was on site he called his salesman who came out to quote me a price for descaling and hydro jet. Sounded like a plan to last longer perhaps before needing a clear out again. NOT!!! They both leave to gather the equipment needed to do the job. 2 hours later the technician arrives and proceeds to start the service. He's finished in no more than 30 minutes. $2,399.00 and 2 MONTHS later we have the same issue with the same pipe. I called to get them out again, made the appointment for Saturday 10-12:00. No one showed. I called the office who said it was rescheduled for the next day and they tried to call me. LIES! No missed calls! & why not leave a message??? I honestly do not believe Discount Plumbing performed the service they said they did, (descaling and hydro jet) mentioned above. I do not recommend this company for your plumbing needs. LB and team responded with urgency to our backed up toilet and main line, and seemed like a friendly enough crew. However, that's where our good experience ends with this company. After an unsuccessful snaking of the line, I believe this company saw a couple of new homeowners and decided to pounce. They not only allowed wastewater to dump into our basement not once, but two times, but also refused cleanup saying that they did not perform that part of the job, leaving it to us to handle. I also believe, seeing our inexperience, that they decided to upcharge everything on us ($1500 for a hydrojet???). If only this had been a non-urgent situation I would have learned better by calling around and talking with other companies. Other companies were shocked and pretty much laughed when I told them the horror story of our experience with this. They also provided a bid to perform Epoxy lining of our main line which came out to MORE THAN DOUBLE the numerous other companies we got in contact with after we were done with this crew. People are now telling me that the epoxy lining method is the most expensive, quickest job leading to big profit margins for these plumbing companies, so corrupt! They also bid an incomplete solution that would still leave us with work to be performed. I am incredibly happy to never work with this company again after talking with a number of other highly touted professionals in the area. I'd give it a single star but for the quick response time on the initial call and the friendliness of the techs. We'll chalk this one up to our inexperience allowing us to get taken advantage of. I called them back on August 15 when the sewer overflowed (Yes - it is nasty) The technician claimed there was a break in the pipe and that was why it was not cleared BUT he said he would clear it today using a hydrojet for $1100. I told him the trust had been broken and he could be on his way. I did get it hydrojeted this afternoon for less then half and Voila - no "break" in the pipe. They can argue all they want.
