I stopped by this location to have my rear passenger tire taken care of as it had a screw in it (this had been told to me by one of the employees when I stopped by for air/pressure check). I was informed that if they weren't able to get the screw out I'd have to replace the tire. It all felt weird because I myself didn't see the screw and they were claiming it was right on the edge. I figured it best to be safe than sorry, so I went into the waiting area and within 5-10 minutes I received a text that my vehicle was ready. Wow, I thought, I guess they were able to patch it. I stepped outside and my car was waiting for me at the exit. I was told that my car could not be serviced, that they weren't able to get the tired off. The person was just rambling on, going a mile a minute, it was hard to comprehend what was going. He was talking about my *front* passenger tire. I stopped him and explained the issue had been with the rear. We then went back and forth with him trying to tell me I had an issue with the front, basically in denial that they'd looked at the wrong tire. I'd already known my front tire had an issue, I would not have taken it to Discount Tire for servicing if this was the tire with the issue. Eventually he agreed to take the car back to look at the rear passenger tire. I felt even more uncomfortable and uncertain. How can I be sure they know what they're doing? I watched through the waiting room and saw a bunch of guys having a conversation and I noticed one in particular finagling with my key. I have a special cover for the key as I could tell the plastic part was coming a bit loose. I assumed he was just separating the key from the rest of the chain and didn't think twice about it. When they called me over finally they said they were able to fix the tire, mumbled an apology and handed me my key. I left feeling concerned and a bit confused. A couple of days later I went to turn on my car and the key broke. I took off the silicon cover I had on it and found it was completely cracked and had tape on it. They'd broken my key and NOT told me. Not only did I leave questioning if they'd actually done any work on my car, I now have to deal with getting this key fixed. I will not ever go back to this place and I'd recommend you pick somewhere else to visit. read more

Do not use this location if you value your safety and your personal property. I took my Mazda 3 to them to have two tires replace on the front wheels. They were busy that day but got it done in roughly an hour. A few days later I drove from Austin, Texas to Jacksonville, Florida. When I arrived back in Jacksonville I noticed what sounded like my brake pads getting to the replacement point. I got the parts and when I went to replace the pads I found that ALL of my front lug nuts were finger tight, less than 1-2ft/lbs. I literally used my fingers to take the lug nuts off. The front rotors fell off the lugs as soon as I pulled the wheels off (this is not supposed to happen). The rotors were ruined from being so loose and had to be replaced (not normal for a 4 door commuter sedan with 50k miles on it.) I'm lucky the car made it back to Jacksonville without the wheels come off with my family inside at 70mph. I suggest finding another place to get your tires installed. read more

I needed 4 new tires on my car, after searching for tire prices Discount Tire offered the lowest prices. I made an appointment for 2 PM on a Tuesday, and the place was packed with people. But since I made an appointment, I was able to be seen right away. The consultant was very friendly and the mechanics all seemed to enjoy their work. In about one hour, the car was ready with the new tires. The mechanic who pulled up the car told me that the low pressure light was on and wanted to make sure there was no problem with the sensor. They brought out a diagnosis device and was able to re-calibrate the air pressure with the new tires. I was very happy with their service and seems to be a very popular spot. If you do come to this store, make an appointment first or you may have to wait a long time. read more

Really awesome service and dedicated team at this location. Had gotten a flat tire from a nail, which I had swapped to a spare tire myself. Upon arrival I was given a quick inspection and checked in, and the team speedily proceeded to patch up my tire and place it back on the car. Discount Tire did not charge me a dime for the service or repair materials (even though none of my tires were from discount tire). Was of course happy to leave a tip for the team. So this location deserves to be recognized as a 5 location. Before Covid you really don't see all the work but getting a chance to sit in the car and watch them work, I was in awww what a Awesome Team that work so hard, fast and steady to get each car in and out while keeping safe at all times . They go way beyond those extra miles that many just don't see. As I watched them work together and fast but reliable and with no grumble, I can't even imagine working in the heat like they do. The positive productive energy from the upper management down to each employee was truly contagious and very few business take pride in their work from the minute you get to the parking lot till you drive off they are so helpful and courteous ... These guys are such a awesome TEAM!! Sometimes 5 stars doesn't seem high enough kudos for a location that goes that extra mile to take pride in their work !! This was NOT the expert level of service normally received at the Bastrop location. I arrived with a bad tire. 4 guys at the counter, 2 stuck on the phone indefinitely. The third was busy schmoozing it up with 2 cops, yacking for a very long time (was still yacking when I left). Finally, some 10 minutes later, the 4th guy (Stacey) stopped working on the computer and realized he might have to actually pretend to help me. I showed him the tire and he stated he couldn't help, tire wasn't in stock. I called The Slaughter location, the guy who answered helped immediately. He tracked down an available tire and said it would be here later today. Also, I stopped at this same Ben White location earlier to get some air in my tires. Basically, I was ignored indefinitely and drove away. I wouldn't go back here if the tires were provided free. Good luck with the poor service. I just can't believe this place actually carries the Discount Tire name. P.S. I think I might go back and throw my tire through the window to emphasize my unhappiness. When i showed up for my apointment i was invoiced for continental control contact, a tire only made for discount tire. The bait and switch move was low class. I've been here twice in the last four months, and the same guy helped me both times. He remembered who I was, that I was commuting to Texas State for grad school so it was important that I got my tires fixed quickly, and more details about me and my car. I took advantage of their tire warranty program and it's saved me countless times. The people who work here are always in a good mood and are always willing to answer any questions you may have. They've never tried to upsell me on anything and they treat me like a human being instead of dumbing everything down when they speak to me. If you don't have an appointment, you should expect to wait at least 1.5-3 hours. That's just how it goes because appointments get priority. I've always seen the staff working as quickly as possible, and they walk around the lobby every once in a while to see if anyone has any questions about their vehicles or their wait times. They are incredibly attentive to their customers and that's why I don't mind driving a little further from where I live to come to their location. As for the location, it's a little less than ideal. It's right off the feeder road and their parking lot is really tiny. But that's not really their fault. Overall, this is a great Discount Tire store. read more

When the problem persisted, I brought it to Discount who found a nail and didn't charge me to remove it and patch the hole (oh and it took less than 2 hours). First time visiting Discount Tires for a flat/nail in tire. I made an appointment ahead of time as they seem quite busy. I arrived right at my appointment time and was greeted by several friendly staff members. Waited about 30 minutes in the lobby for the repair which was way shorter than I predicted! They also gave me an incredible deal. As a female, I worry about car repair people trying to rip me off or speak to me as if I don't know anything about cars (honestly, I don't). After I paid for everything, sitting and waiting for service, someone comes and tells me they don't have my tires. They even tried to talk me into putting a different pair to front. Discount Tire is the best tire and wheel store that I have ever used and I am 63 and have used them exclusively for the last 12 to 15 years. Today I was driving and my "Check Tire Pressure" warning came on. When I checked my LF tire was at 25 psi while the others were 32/34. I immediately headed to the store at Burnet and Braker. They determined that a screw or nail had caused a small hole in the tire. Within an hour they had my flat fixed and my tires rotated! I was very impressed with their speed and attitude. After years of driving, I finally had my first flat tire. It was bound to happen eventually, right? Right! Let's do this, Courtney - you can change a tire. Theoretically, you know what to do, you've just... never done it before. Can't be that hard, right? People do this all the time. Now where does the jack go? While I was busy reading my owner's manual and getting the spare tire and all the other necessary supplies out of my trunk, some sweet kid walks up and asks if I need any help. It's cold, it's raining, and he's going to be late for work - is he really offering to help me? Faith in humanity restored. Together, we jack up the car, take off those pesky lugnuts, get the spare on, and throw everything in my trunk. (Speaking of lugnuts - those things are really tough to get off. Jumping on the tire iron was the only way I could loosen them - just a future note to anyone else stuck in that situation.) Now I'm stuck with this spare tire and I know you're not supposed to drive with them on the highway and of course my job is all the way on the other side of town. Better go to a tire shop! Thanks to the power of Yelp, I headed to Discount Tire. The guys working here are so nice; one of them even walked around passing out bottles of water. The man I spoke with told me that my tire had become separated from the steel and he checked my other tires to make sure they were okay. Safety = ensured. He then told me that they'd have me all set up with a new tire in about 40 minutes and showed me where the bathroom was located so I could wash my hands. (If you know me, you know that if my hands are dirty and I don't immediately wash them, I start to have an anxiety attack. I do not do well with dirty hands that cannot be cleaned immediately after the dirty deed is completed. I have no problems getting my hands dirty, I just have to be able to clean them immediately after.) Even though they were pretty busy, I didn't even have to wait a full 40 minutes for them to put the new tire on, air up my spare, check the air pressure on all the tires, and put everything back in its proper place. They put the new tire on the back for safety reasons and then I was off on my merry way. Despite my fear that a new tire would be crazy expensive, it only set me back $80. If ever I find myself in this situation again, I would most definitely come back to Discount Tire. read more

This is a comment as for Discount Tire Stance / Rules on no support for tire inflation on tires under 10PSI One thing I would comment for the company as a whole is their view / limitations on tire inflation. If your tire is under 10PSI "the air will be automatically disabled, as a "Safety" feature" This is not the proper thing to do, if it is a slow leak it should be inflated.. Have two options, wait an hour to have the flat fixed or drive off with less then 10PSI of air in your tire... Now how is this supposed to be safe? Discount tire? #discountitre read more

It wouldn't be very fair for me to post that unflattering review of the Braker Discount Tire without giving this location props for finding the offending nail that the Braker location missed, would it? In case you don't want to bother reading my long review of the Braker location, this Discount Tire location did me right when I had a nail in my tire that the Braker Discount Tire location missed. I showed up without an appointment, and they had me on my way with a patched up tire within 45 minutes...for FREE. My car dealership charges $30 to patch tires, so this is a pretty fantastic deal, if you ask me. It's a smallish place with only a few stalls and a pretty basic waiting room, but they gave me better service in the same amount of time than the larger Braker location. Free bottled water for customers, too. I'm a fan. read more

Forget the fact that the clientele made the waiting lobby feel like a morgue with their dour expressions and robotic focus on their smartphones. Were they waiting for car repairs or autopsy results? My husband and I got down to business with Tim, the manager. His straight-forward, efficient manner handled the details of the service we needed (two tires, one flat to be replaced.) He assessed our car's predicament, typed up the invoice, and within five minutes, we sat ourselves down in the morgue-like lobby to wait. Our waiting time was quoted as 45 minutes. I hid behind my smartphone, watching and judging comers and goers because it passes the time like binge-watching Breaking Bad. The employees were always smiling, always polite, always on the move like Energizer Bunnies in black. The aura of efficiency and competence coated the environment pleasantly. That cannot be said of many places these days. Less than ten minutes after our car was taken in, Edward pops out and announces we're good to go. Dang, that was faster than Mr. White barreling down the desert in the meth RV. When you need a lawyer, you better call Saul. Long story (but read it, it's worth it): Wednesday, March 6th: My sister comes driving home with a flat tire. Now common sense says that you don't drive at all when your tire is flat. But whatever, it happened. So I helped her change her tire to the donut. While changing it, she stresses to me that she doesn't have the money to deal with this. I tell her she doesn't have a choice. I recommend going to a used tire shop to hold her over until she gets the money for a new tire. Thursday, March 7th: My sister goes over to Discount Tire on 290/Ben White and tells them she needs a new tire. David helps her. Well...they take her car in, and tell her that the rim the flat is on is messed up, and that one of her other rims and a tire are messed up as well. Then they quote her around $1000. Uhh...what? Nope, she tells them to keep going down...finally she gets it down to about $450 and they tell her they're discounting $10 off each rim and not charging labor. So that's great, right? So, she waits an 1 1/2 hours (not a big deal, it's a well-known tire shop..this is expected). They tell her that her car is ready. So, they go out to her car and he show her the rims. "Don't they look good!?" the guy says. Well, they would've, if half her car didn't have one type of rims on one side of it and the other half of the car had another type of rims on it. In complete shock, my sister drives her car home. This is the funny part. We laugh and joke around because half her car has nice-looking rims on it, and the other half has the standard Honda rims and hubcaps on it. I tell my sister that her rims are worth more than her car (1997 Honda Civic, 4-door, LX, with a falling headliner and visors, and 150,000 miles on it). Who would want to waste money on rims on a crappy car like that? Friday, March 8th: My sister has comes to terms with her 1/2 set of new rims by now. She decides that it is far too embarrassing for her car to have 1/2 a set of rims on it...which, by the way, she did not pick out or agree to. All she wanted were some normal rims to throw her hubcap back over. We go to Discount Tire, again. David, the manager, helps us once more...he should've been expecting us since he surely doesn't know of anyone who wants only 1/2 a set of rims, right? So my sister tells him that she wants the other 2 rims. $194. Labor not charged. We decide to go have lunch while we wait on her car. On the way out, we call them and ask them to put the 2 newest tires on the rear of the car (since before the 2 newest tires were on one side only)...this is something a tire shop should already be doing. They've been trained to put the newest tires on the back for traction. We go to pick up her car and we look at her tires. There is a new tire on the front left, and a new tire on the rear right. Really??? These people are already supposed to be doing this AND we asked them to just to be sure. They also did not return her donut (my sister should've noticed the day before, but oh well). We looked in her trunk and saw one of her full-sized tires in place of the donut. I told her she should get her donut back, but she says it makes more sense to have a full-sized tired since she can go full-speed on it. Whatever, her car, her prerogative. So the guy comes out, asks what's wrong, they switch the left tires around so the new tire is in the back now. David apologizes profusely. Okay, great, we go home. Saturday, March 9th: My dad comes home from out of town. Says her rims look ghetto (us white people don't usually have rims I guess). He asks me why I let her get screwed over while he was gone. Sunday, March 10th: My dad takes the full-size tire out of trunk to have a look at it. He doesn't understand why they didn't give her her spare/donut back. Guys at Discount told us they were putting the best of the 2 tires in her trunk, apparently. Well...no. The tire they put in her trunk as her SPARE was the FLAT tire with the messed up RIM. Again, apparently. Furious that the guys allowed his daughter to drive away with no functioning spare tire, he decides to patch the tire up. Wait...you can use a tire that has a bent rim? No, but the rim was NOT BENT. Go figure. Monday, March 11th (today): I go to Discount and explain to this kid all the problems we've had starting with Wednesday. He hands my "case" over to someone else. I want the rims and the donut back. They don't have any of it. Partial refund for crappy service? Nope. They can only give me a full-sized spare, free of charge. They also told me today that they don't sell the standard rims my sister wanted..but the free spare is the same standard rim that fits the hubcaps. Don't go here. I enjoy car repair about as much as I enjoy a punch in the face. Surprisingly, after waking up to find my car tire flat, Discount Tire made my day. The employees are extremely courteous and helpful. After a quick tire inspection they notified me that a screw was embedded in my tire and that I was a perfect candidate for a tire repair. It was pretty busy on a Friday morning but less than 40 minutes later I was out the door with a patched tire for FREE! Love it. read more

He went above and beyond the call of duty and pulled the four tires in stock for sons vehicle and set them aside for me to purchase today. I highly recommend this place due to this employee David W, as he didn't hesitate to answer my questions or help me find tires that would fit my sons vehicle. Since I was in the Austin area due to TS Harvey flooding and the flood waters prevented me from going to my own home in Jefferson County, I was able to take sons vehicle in today to get new tires on his car today. Son is always working or picking up his kids from daycare so he hasn't had time to get new tires on his vehicle yet but needed them desperately. read more
