My edit: I got a call from Michael the day after my review. My initial response was to say "I don't want to talk to you" And being in customer service I thought better of that; I always want the chance to make something right and so I opened up the conversation with Michael. He apologized with NO excuses (that to me is a good thing) He acknowledged every point in my review. He offered me the Good Year Tires at the Kumho price AND waived the install fee. I accepted the offer and kept my appointment. When we meet in person he was personable and providing me with explanations and details to my understanding. I did find out in conversation that generally speaking Discount Tire team members work 6 days a week. YIKES. I would not be at my customer service best after a week like that either. So moving forward Discount Tires Bellevue is my go to tire store. This review: Comes down to lack of customer service. Customer care. Honesty NONE of these things Michael offered yesterday. I came in on Saturday approx 4:15p - they close at 5p, It was a hot afternoon and they were visibly busy (setting the scene) I brought in a new to me: 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor Limited I was greeted by Michael who was while not unkind per se did not respond fully or acknowledge any of my questions. When online prep for coming in the check list had a question about some component re: traction I didn't yet know. He asked what I wanted and I explained about my "new" car (nary a smile or even acknowledgement) and he barely looked at me offering NO eye contact; fearful I was looking a fright, as I mentioned it was hot and late the afternoon I was quite uncomfortable with the beginning of our conversation. He asked what I wanted 2 or 4 or? and I said likely a full set AND I thought best he as the professional would advise. As we were headed out still feeling awkward and hoping to make a connection if not lighten the mood I said are you Michael or is that someone else's shirt? He flatly said no my name is Michael. Please note I am fully aware not everyone gets my sense of humor so no harm no foul but it was so not at all enjoyable experience. He looked at only the passenger side. Did not use an gauge or even touch them - asked about that and he seemed confident and I know I needed tires so be it. And I imagined he has seen thousand upon thousands of them. The little I know about tires is that they wear differently and I asked if he would look at the spare tire to decide to keep the spare in the spare well and replace with one of these or get another. He said no offering the valid explanation that the spare most often have less wear and tear as they are often less used. I found it a quite reasonable but in hindsight 1) I asked for him to look - he did not 2) How does he know that for FACT without event going to the other side of the vehicle 3) What if for my safety and the safety of my passengers the spare needed to be replaced as well. Back at the counter: Michael asked a lot of great questions 'what kind of driving do you do?' how long are you going to keep the vehicle?' 'road trips' ... I had literally just got it and hadn't thought of some of these things. I did mention my budget with the licensing, insurance and AAA membership. After listening he suggested some tires that were approx. $772 out the door. (Good Year model do not recall) I asked if there were any others he would recommend he came up with a more expensive option. I showed him on my phone what my cousin researched and suggested KUMHO Road Venture A/T 51. Michael did look at said "those are summer tires". At the time I was like OH heck that does not sound like a good idea. Let's go with the Good Year and I set my appointment for Monday at Noon. Well guess what I found The KUMHO Road Venture AT51 are NOT - I repeat NOT "summer" tires. What the heck Michael do you get kick back? Are you the manager? Had an appointment to put on new tires I had ordered. When i arrived I had to stand in line 15 minutes. Then it was another 45 minutes until they even starting working on my car. The tires were filthy as were the rims . There were hand and fingerprints on and around the door handles plus grease streak on the interior of the door. When I checked in they tried to sell my a certificate for refund, replacement at $44.75 per tire. This was not offered when I ordered the tires. However there was already a "life of tire maintenance" charge at $22 per tire already part of the installation price. I was given no information regarding warranty. Took me a little while to figure out it was dented but still. Don't assume they sell quality products. More details: I wanted to get rims for some snow tires I had Ordered rims in Dec 2021. Had an appointment to pick them up and get tires mounted/installed. Show up, it's a snowy day, so tricky to get there, turns out that their delivery was messed up because of the weather. I get it, no one can control the weather but it would have been nice to get a call that I didn't need to drive through the snow as the rims were not ready yet. I'll give some credit, they were able to find replacement rims pretty quick so I think it was the next day, but since one of dented that's kinda worthless to me at this point. Discount tire wasn't able to install my tires because they said they were a little to old, again I get it but an annoying extra task. I was able to get it done no problem at my local shop. However, it turns out I got my all seasons mounted on the new rims so it took a while for me to figure that out. I thought that maybe my steering was going out. But it turns out one of the rims is dented so badly the car shakes, and no amount of balancing can fix it. The front was shaking so badly at highway speeds that I though my steering was going out. The reason for the 1 star is that even though I have only have only driven on these rims maybe 100 miles or so Discount says sorry we sold you a dented rim but it's too late, their policy is 30 days. They don't even deserve one star! This location has a bunch of individuals that never worked on cars in their life. They don't even know how to properly take a wheel off the car. Purchased 4 brand new tires, waited over 5 hours for them to get to my vehicle, they ended up stripping 3 lug nuts and said that they didn't know what else to do. I ended up taking the tires with me, they didn't even have the courtesy to pump air into one of my tires that had a nail. I had to drive to Safeway to use their air station. I have trusted this Discount Tire in Bellevue so much that I brought my Audi Q7 there for a new set of tires. I liked the guys (Mitch and Chris) when I checked in. I hoped the technicians did a great job when I left. Unfortunately, I was wrong and so disappointed that they damaged my wheels when they swapped out the tires. The wheels looked pretty beat up with markings and scratches. The assistant manager-Mitch agreed to file a claim with their insurance. It's been 3 weeks and the adjuster has not contacted me. I just want the people out there to know it's happened. If you bring your beloved car here, take a lot of pictures before the work and examine their work carefully when you pick it up. Came here twice for a replacement tire that was under warrantee. Got great service once and got scammed once. One time, we got one of the normal techs and everything was fine. They patched our tire and sent us on our way. The other time, we got the manager and he charged us for a large fraction of the price of the tire even though we'd only driven a tiny fraction of the milage the tires were warranted and spuriously charged us for wheel rebalancing. When I asked why the rebalancing charge was there, the manager said it was "the labor charge". If it was a labor charge, why wouldn't the line item be something like "labor for tire under warrantee" and not "[some random service that we didn't ask for or receive]". Between the large charge for the tire and the "labor" charge we paid almost the entire cost of a new tire for a tire that was under warrantee. We switched from Costco to Discount Tire because the location was more convenient, but it looks like we should have stuck with Costco or gone with Les Schwab. read more

One is already toast (was told that it could not be patched) which caused a huge headache as I was too far away from Bellevue. Either they are not installing these right or they use defective tires. Very disappointing. Went to get my new tires installed, and as soon as I left their facilities the tire icon starts blinking indicating my tires are low. Had to drive back the following day, spent another hours there waiting, finally they said it was taken care off. Drive out, and after 5 mins driving, the tires indicator lights up again... this happened 4 times. Called the regional office and they never took the time to actually try to figure out the problem or try to figure out ways to compensate for making me go back 4 times! for something that is supposed to be what they are good at. A very highly rate tire place on Yelp, and they do deserve their rating. Life/sh!t happens sometimes; ended up having a car tire pop late one night, and was able to partially inflate it and crawl my way to this place the next AM. I was greeted very shortly upon arrival and we went to outside to physically inspect my essentially zero pressure tire. The technician inspected my other tires to make sure the tread was still adequate as well. We talked about possible options for replacement and I did not feel pressured to upgrade to anything, or felt like like I was being thrown a sales pitch. NOTE: I did do my online research for what tire I wanted previously (they have branded tires vs private labels which I don't trust). The quotes in-store are transparent as they are online (always a good thing). Their website also shows the current tire stock available at the location, to give you an idea of their inventory. They offered to replace just the one tire, but I decided on a set of 2 to keep things even. I had scheduled a 10:00AM appointment, (which they ask if you have one at arrival, so I assume that's preferred) but I showed up earlier. I've been coming here for almost 20 years for all of my cars and usually no issues. This time, the tire change appointment went fine. Got all 4 changed in about 40 minutes. I got the Michelin Crossclimates; top of the line. But afterwards, my car seemed to ride rather harshly. Every bump seemed to jolt my car and suspension and the road noise was a little annoying. I thought maybe this was how this new tire rode and it would soften up after a while. After riding it in this condition for 2 weeks it was still harsh so I decided to check the tire pressure and it was 50psi! WTF?? Who in their right mind, working at tire shop, inflates a passenger car tire to 50psi? Normal is 32-36psi. No wonder my car rode so harshly over bumps. I'm pretty good at regular car maintenance so I finally figured it out but if it was my mother or grandmother, they wouldn't know any better. Just displeased that a professional tire shop would make such a amateur mistake and send their customer off on their way like that. I could've had a major blow out on the freeway. At least I saw them torquing my lug nuts with a torque wrench; that's a good sign. read more

I bought a set of new tires about 3 years ago from Discount Tire and have been very satisfied with the quality of tires I received. I recently went back to get my tires checked out because I thought it might be time for some new tires considering the rainy season is approaching. I was surprised by the quality of their customer service. Once they looked at them, it was recommended that I rotate and balance my tires. The sales rep didn't try to push new tires on me but made sound recommendations on what I could do to maximize the tires lifetime. We scheduled a time for the rotation and balance (which is free if you purchase tires with them) got in and out really quick. Another great service perk from getting tires from discount tire is any punctures that are repairable they do for free. I'll be back to Discount Tire for my next set of tires. read more

I'll make this short and sweet. Took my girlfriend's car here and made a point to "please mount the directional tires in the correct direction". Mind blowing, I know. "This is all we do, of course they'll be installed correctly" was the response I got. Fine. OK, so one tire was installed incorrectly. But mistakes happen. They took the car back and installed the tire correctly. But I got the feeling they were not very happy. Like I was inconveniencing them. Fast forward a few months, and we're getting her brake pads replaced. Guess what, DISCOUNT TIRE STRIPPED THE WHEEL LOCKS ON HER WHEELS. I believe they did it on purpose after they had to fix THEIR mistake on the directional tire. What other explanation could there be? This was vandalism and they cost me a few hundred dollars. Got some new wheels for my Subaru! The whole process here was quick and friendly. Everyone I spoke with had a "can do" attitude and went above and beyond to help me out. I came in looking for new wheels for my Subaru and had a couple options I was looking at. I spoke with James and he was very helpful. He gave me some prices and didn't pressure me at all. I took a couple days to decide then called back and ordered the wheels I wanted since they didn't have them in stock. They called me when the wheels came in and set up an appointment. When I had the wheels put on I realized I had forgotten to have them order black lug nuts to go with the black wheels. They were nice enough to order them for me and didn't even charge me, I really appreciated that. I came back in a couple days later and as I was parking one of the employees came up to me and asked if I was getting the black lugs put on, now that's service! They quickly swapped out the lugs and I was on my way. From the beginning to the end I had a great experience here and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

UPDATE: July 20, 2018 (later in the day) I returned to the store later the same day. Long story short, I not only got the $10.02 refunded, but also the $25 shortfall in the rebate was made right. It turns out it was more of a misunderstanding than previously believed. Also, I should have gone to the manager of the store earlier in the day. Whereas the manager happened to be right there this time to correct the situation.Therefore I changed the rating to 5 stars. Also, no more "bad taste in my mouth" (see below). UPDATE: August 19, 2018 I received the remaining $50 (mail-in) rebate card in the mail (total $75 rebate) Now everything is copacetic! ORIGINAL REVIEW: July 20, 2018 (earlier in the day) I've been coming to Bellevue Discount Tire for years to buy tires. The service was always friendly and they have always honored their free repairs whenever I got a flat. Once, I bought four tires that kept giving me flats. But they replaced them at a good prorated deal. Just today, July 20, 2018, I bought 4 new tires for $529.93 full cost. But they were supposed to be $449.51, -$75 mail in rebate. On July 2, 2018, Victor quoted me $449.51, -$75 mail in rebate. I decided to think about it. I came in three days later on July 5 to have the new tires put on per the quote. But since they were out of stock, they had to be ordered, which I did. I do not clearly remember whom I spoke to on July 5th. But he told me I could still get the $75 rebate, so long as the tires were ordered (but not necessarily paid for) during the week of the 4th of July. I should have had him sign to that effect in clearly stated writing. Fast forward to today (July 20). The guy who collected payment from me after the tires were installed today, Ian, told me that the tires had to be ordered, AND PAID FOR, during the week of the 4th of July, in order for me to get the $75 rebate. But he did gave me a different $50 mail-in rebate instead. That somewhat takes care of the rebate. But $529.93 -$449.51 =$80.42. It turns out the original total cost of the tires went up between July 5 and July 20, 2018! So Ian gave me a refund of $16 per tire x 4= $64 plus $6.40 tax = $70.40. OK, what about the other $10.02 ($80.42 -$70.40)? Well, it turns out the original July 2nd quote for "certificates for refund" were 4 x $10.75 =$43. But the actual charge was 4 x $13.03 = $52.12. $52.12 -$43 = $9.12 + $.90 tax = $10.02. So I got refunded for the increase in price of $16 per tire, but not for the increase in cost of $2.28 per refund certificate. I discovered this only right after having left the store. Ian did handle himself professionally in doing what he had done. But apparently per company requirement, he insisted that I could not get the full $75 rebate. I fault myself for not having been more vigilant by not showing the man (don't remember his name) who did the intake work the original July 2nd quote, when I first arrived at the store for my appointment today. But why Ian refunded the difference in price of the tires, without also refunding the difference in cost of the refund certificates, I know not. Lesson learned: If I had to order out of stock tires, I should have paid for them in advance. This seems counterintuitive. But had I done so, Ian told me that would have gotten me the full $75 rebate. Also, I'm going to have to be more vigilant, especially when merchandise has to be ordered because it is out of stock. But that does not explain why I was only refunded the difference in the price of the tires, but not the difference in cost of the refund certificates as well. It was my bad for not being more vigilant. But it was Ian's bad for not refunding the difference in cost of the certificates. So it remains for me to decide whether to go back to the store to try to recover the extra $10.02, or not, as I am the "avoidant type". It is only in this way, that I can decide whether this was simply an honest error or not. But no matter what happens, this whole thing puts a bad taste in my mouth as I have never had any problems like this before with this, or any other Discount Tire location. I just now noticed as I was finishing up this review, that at the bottom of my estimate sheet, it says "this quote is good for 30 days". That includes the entire quote, but it does not mention the $75 rebate. Had this been my first time with this store, this would have been a one or two star review (depending upon how they respond when I go back to get the $10.02 refund). But because of a good past history, I give them three stars instead. If I get the $10.02 refunded without ado, then I will upgrade this to four stars. Stay tuned! I've spoken with someone at the store three times trying to order a pair of Nitto Invos for my Mustang, but they have twice failed to actually enter an order. When I called a couple weeks after my initial conversation, they couldn't find the order, then after an extended time on hold, claimed they did but it was on a truck from the east coast. What has happened to this place?? I was told that my car will be ready at 8pm and when I said if they can make it bit early say by 7.30pm then they said actually it will be 9pm. Instead of calling me when it's ready they just sent me a text at 5.30pm which somehow I missed I tried calling them at around 7.30pm to see if it's ready but no one picked the phone so I dropped by at around 8pm to see they are actually closed (yes, I did ask them twice that they close at 6pm then how they give my car at 9pm and they said they close the front door but work on cars till it's done. I called up Discount Tires to let them know that I was coming to drop off my car that day to get a tire replacement. Being a ex-Auto Center Manager myself. I am a stickler for excellent customer service and quality labor. I found that here at the Bel-Red Discount Tire. I purchased two tires via the website in March, had them installed per schedule. I then purchased the other two after deciding to keep the car for possibly another year. I again ordered via the website, went to Discount Tire on my scheduled appointment time Tuesday, June 15 at 10 am. I was checked in and told a associate will be at my car in a few minutes. Well, about 10 minutes later, Mark W. the person who checked me in came to my vehicle and told me they are unable to find my tires? I said excuse me, he said they just got a delivery in and the tires are not there. They told me they were sorry, they would call me when the tires arrive. Somewhat disappointed, I left and returned home. Hoping to get a call in the next few day, nothing? I called Discount Tire on Friday, June 18 and again talked to Mark W. Mark was very pleasant and looked up my order and stated my tires came in on Wednesday and I questioned why I didn't get a call? He said he didn't know and I let him know I would like to talk with a manager when I come in. Mark scheduled me for Monday at 10:30. I arrived at Discount Tire around 9:30 as I wanted to speak to a Manager. I was first checked in by Eliseo, very pleasant and I let him know I would like to speak with a manager. He told me to go into the building and see a gentleman Chris D. at the desk. Chris was very professional and asked me questions about my concern. He looked up all of my questions and during our discussion I asked him if there was anything he could do for me monetarily. I was very pleased when Chris asked me to insert my credit card as he did make a adjustment for me. I really want to make sure that Discount Tire Corporate recognize these three Gentleman, Mark W., Eliseo Riveros-Hernandez and Chris D. for their listening to me, showing empathy for my issue and for compensating me for the issues I went through. - The only reason for the 2nd star is that I do appreciate the free air service, which ought to be standard at all service/gas stations. - However the people in their service bays need bit more attention. My parents recently replaced 4 tires, and specifically asked for the wheels to be secured back on by hand, or at least WITHOUT using a pneumatic lug wrench. Guess what. - Discovered this when the wheels needed switching with another car. I almost hurt myself breaking the lugs after enough WD-40 to keep them in business and by standing on a lug wrench because our pneumatic lug wrench (since everybody has one in the garage) isn't working. Then the lug wrench nearly stripped itself. - If a tire had gone flat there is no way my parents could've gotten any of the wheels off. They would've been stranded. If this happened on the freeway or at night it would've been very dangerous. - All because some idiot can't comprehend the phrase "do not use." read more

TL;DR; I chose the shop for the superior balancing equipment. They balanced the wheels poorly, forgot to install hubcentric rings after asking them to twice, lost one of the rings, and in generally lack competence when dealing with Wheels and Tires. All of this the night before tracking the car at 130MPH. To start, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were eager to help and I felt they truly wanted to meet my needs as a customer. I had visited another Discount Tire earlier that day but had picked this location since they had the best balancing equipment. The car frequently experiences speeds in excess of 140mph at the track and need as little vibration as possible. I had ordered a set of wheels and tires. Old tires were going on new wheels, new tires on the old rims. Even though I had checked with the manager there was not reasonable clearance between my brakes and the wheels (less than 1mm). This required using spacers which I had. The goal was to get a set of wheels that did not require spacers. This was not the fault of the shop but just another annoyance in this process. So I agreed to keep running the wheel spacers and install the new wheels and old tires. While waiting for the work to be completed I talked with a rep at the front. I asked if the technician knew that he needed to transfer the hubcentric rings (not spacers) from the old wheels to the new ones if they were not supplying new ones. He said that he knew and it would not be problem. It was now late, past closing, and the car was done. I spoke with the technician that did the work. I checked again that the hubcentric rings were swapped from the old wheels to the new wheels. He said absolutely and after confirming a few other details I was on my way out the door. After opening the door to my car, another small annoyance... I have seats that fold down (VW Golf). Instead of folding them down they loaded up all 4 of the old tires in the back seat on the leather interior instead of just just folding down the seat. I dropped off the excess tires at home and headed 130 miles south to Portland for two days of track time. The car had some odd vibrations which was not expected. I chose this specific store because they should get the best balancing of the tires on the wheels. I guess I will need to go back to the shop and have them balanced again. In the morning I got my first good look at the wheels. They installed the wheel weights on the most narrow spot of the barrel. This has less than .5mm clearance from my brake calipers. They were quite literally placed in the worst spot possible. I guess I get to remove some wheel weights and clean adhesive off brand new wheels... another annoyance. After two days of track time and odd issues with the tires I did all my post track maintenance. I pulled off the wheels and sure enough, there were no hubcentric rings. That is where all that steering vibration was coming from, not the balancing. This was after confirming not once but twice with two different people. Pretty unnerving when you are traveling 130mph 2 feet from a concrete wall. So I opened up the plastic bags that were wrapped on my other set of wheels with new tires. No hubcentric ring there either. I called them up pretty upset. When I asked them why they weren't put on the car they claimed they did. Apparently the people that work at Discount Tire need some additional training. They think wheel spacers and hubcentric rings are synonymous. They are most definitely not. It turns out 3 of my old wheels still had the rings in them and one did not. They found it at the shop. The hats on my 2-piece rotors and wheels spacers have some extra abrasion on them, I am missing a hubcentric ring, caused significant safety issues, I need to pull of the wheel weights and get the new set of wheels balanced again, and I have learned my lesson. You get what you pay for. The technicians likely have no automotive experience and are trained on the job. Tires, wheels, brakes, and steering are the most critical safety components on your vehicle. I strongly recommend you seek out a competent shop and leave out the "Discount" part of "Discount Tire". read more
