I ran over a truck bolt and it plugged my rear tire. Expecting the worst, I figured I'd need a new tire due to the size of the hole. I had heard good things about the Discount Tire at 111th & 59 from my husband - he had four new tires put on a few months ago. I was so impressed with the service. Made my appointment on line the night before, the shop was immaculate, the techs were clean looking and knowledgeable, I was told I would be there thirty minutes, and as customers came in they were greeted and helped. Between customers, the guy at the desk was cleaning the windows!! The best part of all, is that they fixed the tire, I was there for 25 minutes, and didn't charge me a dime. I have been to this particular Discount Tire store on several occasions. I have been very pleased with the service and professionalism at this store. The technicians work together like a well oiled machine to get you in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I was there between 3-4pm on a Wednesday and saw them handle well over a dozen customers in the time I was there, moving along quickly to get cars in and out. Excellent place and service. We ended up with a flat tire and discount tire had the most reasonable tires for our vehicle. When we arrived at 5:30pm, nervous that we would not be able to have the tires done, they took our vehicle right away. No problem at all! Upon evaluating our vehicle we were told all 4 tires were bad. We could only afford two tires at this time. Our sales person, Fidel Olivares, was able to put two semi used tires on, in place of our really bad tires, to help us get by for a few months until we can have two more tires put on. We really had no idea the tires were so bad. I can not thank them enough for this piece of mind and generosity!! That are definitely a class act! Fidel was and did beyond customer service! I came in to Discount Tire because one of my tires had what I thought was a slow leak. It turned out my rim was corroded from the pounds of salt they put on the road, and there was a gap between my rim and tire causing it to sense that it was low. I was told that I would need new rims eventually, but they could be sanded down in the meantime. I decided to just buy new rims then and there because the sales person would not charge for installation and materials, and just for the actual rims saving me $100. I went with the rims that the sales person recommended as I wasn't too thrilled with the other options, however I ended up not liking them at all. I went back 30 minutes later, told them I was unhappy with the new rims and wanted the old ones put back on. They were able to sand/buff down the corroded part of the original rims and put them back on. I wasn't charged a dime!! That was the best part. They could have easily made me pay for the changing the rims and sanding them down as I expected they would, but they didn't. I was very pleasantly surprised! I brought my 2006 Acura TL in as it had a tire leaking air. I was very impressed by the inspection done by Fidel O, and my expectations were surpassed with the overall professionalism, service, and pricing from him and Discount Tire as a whole. With air leaks, you are pretty much at the mercy of the technician inspecting the tire as to whether you can get away with a patch or have to buy a new tire. In this case, all I needed was a patch so that tells me a little bit about the integrity of Discount Tire. They have a new customer for life. read more

Went online and got their "out the door" price, then couldn't schedule a same day appointment online. Showed up, and they got me right in. I had done my tire search online, told them what I wanted, and got the immediate upsell pitch. Finally, the salesman accepted that I knew what I wanted, and he wrote up the order. The price was higher than the "out the door" price I got online. So, I asked why. He told me that online did not include rebuilding the TPMS. I asked why HE included it, and he said, "Because it's practically required by statute." What he meant was, "Because I thought I could get away with it." Then he tried to sell me a full TPMS kit installation. They're friendly, they answer questions, they're fast and clean, plus, the price is good . . . once you get past all the upselling. read more

Although there were several patrons in the store we were in and out within a hour. Will def. be at the top of the list should another need for tires arise in the future. I have been a long time customer of this store, but no longer. They really cheesed me a few months ago when my wife took her car in for the free rotation. The pimply faced douche checking her in said that her tires were so bad that they would probably go within a week. (This was early summer...just had new ones put on mid-December at Sams Club). When I walked in and she told me this, I glared at him, and he started stammering and changing his story. So needless to say, trying to scare my wife didn't set well with me...I expect that crap from the car dealer. Tonight though, I'm dropping off dry cleaning, and notice my right rear tire on my SUV half flat. Since I bought the tires at DT, I knew I had a free fix coming. Another douche pulls up my info, and starts telling me that I'm due for new tires, and they have some on sale for around $800...other options are more. I say I just want to get my tire fixed. He says ok, will be an hour. An hour on the dot, and the Mgr comes out and says I should get all new tires, and they can't fix the one, because it doesn't have enough tread. I say you gotta be F'ing kiddin me...the one time I use you guys for a repair,after all the tires I've purchased for my cars, my wifes and teenagers, and you're going to try and sell me a whole new set for $800?? With some BS about not enough tread? Somebody needs to go back to Marketing 101 and bone up on Customer Lifetime Value, and what it cost them to be jags by trying to pressure me into a sale. Tell him to screw it, and give me my keys, I am done with them. Once again, I expect the high pressure from a car dealer, not these guys. So next day, I go to Wal-Mart and get four new ones for $550. Used to really like this company, but something has changed where they put the full court press sales pitch on you, complete with scare tactics. And the fact that I paid $250 less at Wal-Mart really doesn't make them "Discount" now, does it? And what I got at Wal-Mart were Goodyears, so not some off brand, like "FALKEN" that DT sells. Oh, and by the way, that SIPING that DT charges extra for...Consumer reports says it crap and a waste of money...just another Profit Center for DT. If Siping is so great, why don't the tire manufacturers just build it into the construction of the tire??? Do your due diligence when tire shopping...just because the name says Discount, doesn't mean they are. read more

Women are often second class with car repair, but sexist is unacceptable. I had a flat tire and because I had purchased all 4 tires a year prior, I returned to the same location to get it repaired. They couldn't fix it, even though the hole wasn't on the side wall. ( now I wonder if that was even true. ) I needed to order a new one and was told I didn't have a warrantee, which I did. My husband drove over and they told HIM they made a mistake and it was indeed under warranty. Oops, I guess they don't make costly mistakes like that with men. When I ordered the tie, at a savings of over 50%, because of the warranty I DID have, I was advised to make an appointment because I would have priority over walk ins and that it would take 15 minutes. The tire was already mounted onto the wheel, all they had to do was put it on. Today when I came back to have the tire installed the person at the desk told me it would be an hour, to which I responded that I had been informed it would be 15 minutes. I told him I could get a ride and that he could have it all afternoon but he told me no, to wait, it would be quick. (Incidentally, I was also told a rotation would take an hour and I have had rotations at other discount tires in less than 15 minutes. Such as the one on Ogden in Naperville ). After 50 minutes, my car had not been touched. I inquired at the counter and someone else said they take first come first serve. Hmm. I told him had an appointment ( which he bashfully confirmed by showing me his computer screen). After he went back and yelled at someone, I was out of there in 10 minutes. Apparently it really does only take 10 minutes to mount a tire. My assessment is that women and/ or appointments don't matter at this location of Discount Tire. read more

Absolutely the best! I went in with a nail in my tire. I thought at the very least they would charge me for inspecting it and then for the repair, but nothing! It was completely free for them to inspect my tire, explain to me what they were going to do, and patch it for me. Of course, if it were a bigger problem, I would have had to pay, but I was a very happy camper. Very honest and helpful staff. read more

Been using them for 15 years and multi cars Now seems to be the average experience ...This location seems to be limiting staff and open bays for service. They bait you to book an appt and then wait 45 mins to hour for service just like a restaurant does when you call ahead and they say they are not busy. Good luck! read more

I have purchased multiple set of tires over the years. The prices are always competitive and the service is always outstanding.

The manager there will try to upsell you on sensors, new tires, siping, rims, and certificates. AVOID this location. I love discount tire but this guy just wants your money. They installed a sensor wrong and he claimed I had to buy a new one on the opposite side so he can reset the system and he can fix the one they installed wrong. Another location reset the system with the malfunctioning sensor so this guy just wants to sell sell sell. read more

I have dealt with them many times before and they provide good friendly service with many freebies. I bought several sets of tires in the past, and have always bee satisfied. They ask but do not pressure you into a purchase of warranty on your tires. (I know myself and would certainly void the contract based on the required 5000 rotation so I simply decline the extra protection.) On my most recent trip I was really disappointed with the attitude after they added air to my nitrogen filled tires. Fidel, the person I dealt with, was nice and was sorry this happened however he never accepted the responsibility or even attempted to understand what his mistake was. On two previous tire rotations, I mentioned do not add air to the tires and both times the person said, yeah "I know" I noticed the green caps, and "we know better", so this time did not feel the need to make sure I said it. If Fidel simply said "I did not know about the green valve caps" which is a "industry standard indicator that tires are nitrogen filled" or sorry I did not noticed them I would not be writing this review. Now I have to get them drained and refilled and this will turn into an expensive tire rotation. (I like nitrogen because it comes from a tank as opposed to air which also contains moisture. That moisture condenses and can rusts your rims from the inside creating a slow leak. The problem increases because with a slow leak you add air more often and thus more water which accumulates in the tire.) read more

Another poor experience so I am moving on. For well more than a decade the Naperville Rt 59 Discount Tire store provided me great service. In the past I have been an avid supporter of this store to friends, who use my brother and I as the go-to auto reference guys, and my seven vehicles. Originally I was going to dismiss their actions, but after a few days I am still aggravated and feel it my responsibility to share my experiences with others. As a reference, I have considerable auto experience through my car and motorcycle collecting and racing of over 30 years. In short, a few weeks ago they marred two expensive wheels during a tire change which topped off an insincere interaction with their staff. This store's change seems to be not on an individual basis, but in its culture. This store continues to have some good qualities, but they don't shine through due to other deficiencies. Upon entering the store the personnel is quick with their canned greeting that they will get right with you, but you will soon notice their neglectful actions until they decide it's time to sell you something. After 10 minutes in a mostly empty store my most recent experience caused me to leave due to an obvious demonstration that they were going to deal with customers on their own time. Especially in this difficult economic environment I can only hope the owners can right their ship. read more

Although the employees are usually very nice, my experience there today has been very sub-par. This is the second time I've waited an exorbitant amount of time for my vehicle and they've gone way past time estimated. I dropped my car at 8:40 and was told two hours or a bit more. That was almost 7 hours ago and when my husband called they wouldn't give him a time. It was to simply look at and possibly replace a tire they installed and I've had trouble with it holding Air ever since. We took it in shortly after install and they said nothing was wrong with the tire but it consistently leaked air. Had they told me this would be the wait time when I arrived, I wouldn't have left my car. Thankfully I had a friend with me but I told them I was just going to the store in same strip mall and to breakfast and would be waiting for my car in area. Really quite dissatisfied and had it it not been under warranty, I would go pick up car and go elsewhere! Their attitude on the phone when I called in the first time (3 hours after I dropped it) to check was quite rude as well. Told me they were quite busy and it wasn't even in the que yet! Wouldn't even give me an estimated completion. Basically no car all day on my day off work. Give accurate wait times people - you're only aggravating customers and assuring they won't return!! Looks like I will have to travel there tomorrow morning BEFORE work to pick it up. read more
