The employee I encountered which in fact was the manager refused to service my insured tire under its coverage AND refused to help me further by not even allowing me to purchase the necessary tires. Even though life has its set backs you have to keep on rolling. Seems this is the good place to start. When you need tires and you don't want to spend more than needed come to discount tire company. So my trip to Michigan started out great but the day after was a different story. With a blow out on one of my run flats in the snowy weather of Pontiac I was destined to get new tires in Michigan. I spent the night before scouring the web for the right tires without to much hassle. So I made an online appointment had my car taken there and the rest is history. I was there for a while but considering people were freaking out because of the snow and people were getting new tires in place of the old ones that just didnt grip anymore I spent a solid 3 hrs waiting. Luckily the oakland mall is nearby I just went there for a bit to spend sometime. read more

I just received an email from Discount Tire indicating my vehicle was due for a free tire rotation. It also indicated "included free with your rotation: Free Balancing". I scheduled an appointment time, showed up on time and waited in line for 20 minutes. When waited on, the salesperson went out to the vehicle to get my mileage and measure tread depth. When we got back inside I was told that the tire rotation is free but there is a $40 charge for balancing. I indicated that the email indicated balancing was free and I told him my vehicle did not even need the tires balanced. I was told that they no longer offer a free rotation alone, you must also receive balancing. I will send the Discount Tire email that I received to the Attorney General's office to determine if this is fraudulent advertising. If this company is that dishonest in their advertising, I personally would not trust them to supply safe quality tires and competitive pricing for them. read more

This discount tire offers great service. They have a good amount on staff to take care of many customers. If I need to get to work this is my best bet as opposed to belle tire, a dealership, or shop; I can manage my time better with dt than with the competitors. I have been here at the end of the day as well as first thing in the morning. At the end of the day they were the only business willing to keep open up to the closing time and even a little after. It took long but they were packed and I was just glad they let me get my car in. First thing in the morning, they took me in with less of a wait than I have had at belle tire at store open. The only thing that I hated was the wait. They were super busy though and I was a drop in because I had a problem with my tire. To my own fault I don't check my tires and the employee went out with me to survey all four. I found out that I needed a new one on my driver side. I had a flat tire so I went to Costco to have it replaced. The associate there inspected all four of my tires and told me all but the flat one was "like new" and did not need to be replaced. Unfortunately, they did not have the Firestone brand tires that were on my car so he recommended that I go to Discount Tire to get only the one flat tire replaced. Please keep in mind that Costco lost business to recommend this place (they could have just told me to replace all four tires to make them all match) and the associate there had NO motive to lie to me. On top of that, I had already done the penny test and the other three tires were indeed in great condition. So I came here and an associate by the name of Andrew went out to inspect my tires. He comes back into the store and dramatically claims that I absolutely need to get all four tires replaced. They are so old and completely bald, unusable!! I told him that was strange since Costco had just told me 10 minutes ago that I only need one tire replaced. He awkwardly started defending himself and proclaiming "they lied to you!" Made my whole visit there very uncomfortable. I requested that they only replace the one flat tire I came in for. Waited about 2~3 hours and made a point of it to watch the shop guys work on my car out of the side window in the office. Don't let these guys scam you. I can't speak for the other employees, but Andrew was definitely just trying to get his numbers up. read more

I absolutely love this discount tire! They're always super helpful! I took my car in after a trip to have it inspected and they checked everything for me without a fee! It's so convenient! I would recommend these guys to anyone! They had to replace all the tires on one of my cars and they decided to listen to my iPod at the time which was I believe Selina Gomez and it was hilarious to watch them jam to it! Had to get my tire fixed. Had bought a set a year ago. So pull up and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes. I had nothing better to do so it was ok. It though did seem to take a little too much time to get my tire plugged. Very clean place. They did have free coffee. They had a free place for water bottles but it was empty. Everyone was friendly. I like the fact that the location is not right in the middle of a mall, but easy to find and get to. When looking for the store don't google. It will take you to 14 Mile instead of East 14 Mile. Wednesday June 30th I ran over a nail that deflated my tire. Made an appointment the following day at 1pm. The first guy that helped me seemed like he could give two shit about working there. When he found out I was using insurance, you could tell he wanted to strangle me. He said he would call me with updates. I leave for the holiday weekend and I called DT july 7th and this other guy told me there was NO record of me coming in. I was instantly furious. I was then placed on hold for the manager Greg. He calmed me down and apologized. He said the new tire would arrive in 2-3 days, cool no worries. Today is July 16th and no calls from him. So I called, spoke to someone else and he sees The tire came in but no insurance used. he puts me on hold to speak with Greg, I waited on hold for 5-6 mins and finally Greg comes on. I say hello and the call disconnects. I've been trying to call DT for the 3rd time now with no one picking up. I will never go back to discount tire Again. Waste of Time. Horrible place. read more

All I can say is WOW! I just had the best experience! i got up this morning and went to go out to run errands and found i had a screw in my tire; drove to discount tire near my house and they were really busy (so obviously everyone brings their cars to them) Greg helped me drop off my car and said it would be ready in a few hours. I came back a few hours later and like magic there was no charge at all. They fixed my tire, rebalanced them and they didn't charge me anything. Zip zilch nada it was so professional so easy and I would recommend anyone to go here; it was an unexpected and amazing experience!!!!! read more

I bought winter tires for my car from this location. The price was good and they offered to switch my tires for free in the spring and winter (which is why they are not getting 1 star). Well, today I went to get the winter tires put back on. I was told there would be a two hour wait! They were busy, and I don't have much time during the week to get this done, so I had no choice but to wait. I can't fault them for this. What I can complain about is the attractive, flirty girl who came in after me and received service right then are there. She was in and out in 20 min, while I sat in the lobby with 10 other people waiting for hours. I guess that's the thanks I get for purchasing tires with them. I ordered new wheels and TPMS from this Discount Tire. I already had tires stored at my dealer so when the parts showed up, I took them to the dealer to get mounted. I have a great relationship with this dealer which is why I prefer to pay a bit more to have these things done there and Craig only reaffirmed this for me. I brought my new wheels in to this DT location to have the sensors programmed and Craig informed me that the dealer must have broken three of them because they weren't registering on his reader. He proceeded to tell me I was probably going to have to buy three new TPMS from them and pay for labor. I told him there was no way that my dealer broke these and confirmed by calling the mechanic that worked on my car, so I headed to the next closest Discount Tire. They had the issue fixed and the sensors reprogrammed in 10 minutes of me showing up (with a substantially busier shop). Just don't go here and be cautious if you do. read more

First time here. Or any discount tire. Went there to get my tires filled with air cause they had free air. And to get a price for tires for my car. Well the guy who is filling the tires told me to park so he can fill the cars tires that came in first. So I parked and waited then when the car was leaving he let another person take my spot so I had to wait again. Being really press on time I couldn't afford just sitting there waiting so I left.
