I got their salmon salad -- you can either opt for a large that comes with more lettuce/salad OR a medium which includes two of their sides. I went for a medium so I could try their carrots and tabbouleh (prob would just go with a large salad next time), but the salmon itself was a generous portion and was delicious. I can't believe I'm giving 2 stars. I've eaten here several times, but this time was the first time I had an issue. The order area smells like a toilet. And although the food was excellent, about 10 minutes after finishing, I started having stomach issues. You know the food is good here when your Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food expert of a boyfriend comes here... and he LOVES it!! I came here back in July with a friend and couldn't stop raving about this place. Dishdash really made an impression this weekend when we came in for a little dater-night-dinner. We called in a reservation for 8pm and luckily we did: this place was popppppin! The -1 star is mostly because the host seemed a little bothered to be working and our beautifully large, reserved table was right next to the door that led to the patio. It was pretty chilly whenever someone came through it (which was often) but I opted to not move just because I'm stubborn and don't like making a big fuss over something so small. The food here is packed with flavor! From the pita and Za'atar (a dip mix of spices/sesame seeds and oil) they bring you as soon as you sit down, to the drinks and the main courses, everything is delicious! We first ordered the maza sampler (7 mini tastings of all the cold appetizers besides the yalanji) and were so impressed, especially of the falafel (best I've had so far) and the hummus (fresh af). I ordered the Middle Eastern salad with lamb shawarma w/ yogurt sauce and the boyfriend ordered the chicken shawarma wrap which is made with lafeh bread instead of pita. We loveeedddd what we ordered. The salad was huge and the wrap is crunchy yet juicy and their fries are bomb (pro tip: dip the fries in hummus!). We loved our drinks despite them coming during the middle of our meal cause they were a bit slow. Regardless, the wait staff was mostly very polite and accommodating. This is the best restaurant in Milpitas, hands down. It's not even close. It's more expensive than other Middle Eastern restaurants in the Bay Area, but it's definitely worth it. Besides the cost, be prepared for longer waits than other places. The rack of lamb is hands down my favorite dish. Probably the best rack of lamb I've ever had. Their seasonal veggies are great, too. Also love the lamb kebabs and the chicken kebabs, although I like their lamb a lot more than their chicken. Their fish is pretty decent. My wife absolutely loves their Greek salad. Service was great! We had a reservation for 4 and we did outdoor dining and felt safe. All servers wore masks and all utensils and menus came in a ziplock to make sure it was clean. I ordered the m'shakaleh with beef and it was delightful! So much flavor in every bight and the beef was so tender. Servings are huge, so it's definitely worth the price. My girlfriend and I were trying to find a good place to grab some dinner and since we're always trying to find options that are out of our norm... we decided to visit Dishdash Grill. Located in the McCarthy Ranch plaza in Milpitas, this establishment prides themselves on offering authentic, fresh, high quality Middle Eastern cuisine. Upon arrival I noticed how popular this place was. Patrons from all walks of life and nationalities flooded the building [which is a great sign]. The building is a lot smaller than I expected which explains the crowd standing outside waiting to be seated. There is a fully equipped bar immediately located in the front of the entrance. We were immediately seated and warm pita and herb oil was delivered. We immediately got down to business and amongst the two of us, we ordered: Maza Sampler [For 2] - 6 different dishes ranging from hummus, tabouli, & babaghanouge. M'Shakaleh Vegetarian- layers of Mushrooms and veggies in a fresh tomato sauce. Lamb Zahra- grilled cauliflower, aged yogurt, & lamb. The sampler appetizer is highly recommended since it allows you to try multiple starters at one flat rate. The vegetarian dish was light but very filling. The lamb dish was well cooked- chunks of meat were moist and tender but be advised that there were multiple bones found in my dish. Lastly, the seasoning was perfect and the food came out in a timely manner. So why the 3.5 rating?? Although the meal was extremely enjoyed, it was a major turn off when you are constantly being asked by your server if you were finished with our meals. Stepped into this location vs Fremont to get my normal, chicken kabob, rice no garnish, garlic dip, hummus, and extra pita. Used to frequent this location as a sit down restaurant so miss some of the menu offerings. Talked with an employee who may have been a manager about getting the olive oil and sumac dip that was so popular when they were full service. It may be back but not yet. Please please please offer as an option. It is so delicious. Got my takeout order and the nice employee threw in a baklava and extra pita slices for free. Thank you Dish n Dash Milpitas. I could eat here everyday but unfortunately a little rich for my budget at $20 a meal. See you soon though! read more

That's me right now, and I wish I had some photos to share, but I had to write a review for this place. I've been wanting to try DishDash for a long time (I believe Dish N Dash is the more casual version with a smaller menu offering). I finally had a chance on Wednesday and I loved many parts of the meal. I ordered the pulled chicken grilled meal. It was tasty with some veggies like corn, red bell pepper, and edamame sprinkled on and around the meat on top of the rice. Seasoning was great and the rice was fluffy. The chicken was not pulled in the way I was expecting, though. It was still in significant chunks and pieces. I just got Invisalign so I was hoping for meat with less chewing effort needed. Very tasty though. My favorite things here were the falafels, the veggie sambusak, and the garlic dip. The falafel was moist, flavorful, and had a good crunch. Every bite of my chicken shawarma salad was like a delicious party in my mouth. I got a medium salad with a side of hummus and tabouli and I enjoyed every bite. The salad was made up of so many different colorful and flavorful ingredients that each bite was different. Not only did I put the dressing provided on the salad, but I also spread the yoghurt sauce, spicy sauce, and green sauce all over the salad. The hummus was super smooth and creamy and paired well with the pita provided. The tabouli salad was fresh and bright. You get a large portion for your money. Don't think my waiter could have been more rude & pretentious. Simply asked for a chicken shawarma wrap with the hummus (which is an extra $2) on the side and he straight up refused. I absolutely love Dish N Dash (and their other variants)! I visit their Milpitas location quite a lot and I've never been disappointed here. My favorite items are their traditional entrees like the Beriani Dajaj and Mansaf which are both fantastic and absolutely packed with rich flavor. If you're vegetarian I really recommend the vegetarian Tabsi with Falafel- it's one of my partner's favorite choices.. Their plates and wraps are all also great, and they have a variety of sauces (yogurt, tahini, etc.) which I always make sure to stock up on as they compliment the flavors of the meat and rice really well. Their chili sauce is pretty spicy so don't get overconfident with it, even if you're good with spice! Their locations can get a bit confusing if you aren't familiar. They have a similar restaurant called DishDash in Sunnyvale on Murphy St which is essentially a more upscale version of their cuisine, with a more traditional dining experience with waitstaff. The menu is different but there are a few staple items like the Beriani Dajaj that are available at both places. There is also a to-go variant of Dish N Dash in Sunnyvale on Mathilda which is even more casual than the Dish N Dash in Milpitas or San Jose, which has a smaller subset of the menu without the curries and more specialized dishes. They're all great and serve the same quality food but the dining experience and menus are different at each. The prices are on the high side, especially for the full entrees which are within the $15-20 range but I honestly do think they're worth it because they're just so good and they portion sizes are pretty large. I only wish I could splurge on them more often! read more

Came here on a Friday night and I called earlier to see if they take reservations. Heads up they do not take same day reservation. I've been to their sunnyvale location and now that we live near this one we wanted to try this place out. Parking lot is huge, you won't have a problem with that. We checked in around 7:30 and there wasn't a long wait. There was plenty of open seating outside with cute lights and a lot of outdoor heaters. i told the young lady that we were fine with outside seating. And boy did those heaters do their magic. I ended up taking my jacket off cuz i was so hot! They give you complimentary pita bread with dipping sauce. The sauce was the only thing I felt like it was lacking something. Maybe crushed garlic would have been great with it too. I felt like there was too much sesame seed. I ended up ordering the lamb with yogurt sauce. Last time i ordered in sunnyvale i ordered the chicken with yogurt sauce and I liked the chicken one better. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad but i think i prefer the chicken over the lamb. I loved the sauce and basmati rice. My husband ordered the steak and it comes with this yummy green dipping sauce. To die for! His had great flavor as well. For dessert we ordered the dessert with the cream cheese topped with pistachio and rose honey. we've had it before and we had to order it again if you never had it you have to try it! I wished i remembered the name, but just look at my pictures. What was great was the customer service. We didn't just have our waiter come check on us but it looked like a couple of the managers and bus boys as well. Our drink was never empty and or pita bread as well. They really wanted to take care of you. Another thing while sitting outside was how great they were at moving the outside heaters. They def knew what they were doing lol! I also liked that they had picnic benches. But instead of one long bench each person had their own personal bench. A man who was sitting across from us had a bad back and requested a chair with a hard back, and they accommodate him. I would def would come back again! Oh and another thing i over heard from one of the managers is yes dish dash and dish n dash are the same company. There's a difference though. dish dash is more fine dining and dish n dash is a quicker style, less food more healthier. Have to check out the dish n dash version. Who would have known that such a quality place would be in the McCarthy ranch strip mall? I sure as hell didn't and I live pretty close! If you love Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food then this place is perfect! It's not exactly cheap, but it's worth the price of admission. Been here 2 times in the last month, had really good experience both times. Minimal wait time, parking was easy and the food is really good. We get the tasters, pita and have tried a few items on their menu, all were pretty amazing. I came here for dinner and had confused it with another restaurant of a very similar name dish n dash. After further research, they both have the same owner! Both restaurants have delicious food, but dishdash is more of a date night spot, where as dish n dash is more of a casual lunch or catch up with friends spot. We had to wait a little bit before we were seated, so we sat at the bar and had some drinks, they did bring our appetizer to us so we could enjoy it at the bar. They also brought some bread and dipping oil/vinegar. The dipping oil / vinegar was great and the bread was warm and soft. The lamb and hummus appetizer we ordered was freaking delicious, the lamb was so soft and the hummus was super fresh. I had no idea what to order, and wanted to try something new, so I ordered the sambusak vegetarian. It came out in about 20 minutes and was delicious!!! It was so flakey and the tahini sauce was so light and a little tangy. Make a reservation if you are planning to come here! They get full really quickly. read more

4.5 stars Reservations are typically needed during lunch and dinner times cause this place is very popular. You might be able to squeak by with a max party of 4. I primarily compare this place to the original Dishdash in Sunnyvale and De Afghanan in Fremont. Lamb Shish Kebab w/ veggies, basmati rice, and cilantro sauce 5/5 I always get this dish every time single time I come here and get similar dishes at the above mentioned places. The comparison is that I feel the lamb is marginally less soft here no matter what cooking rarity I choose. Its good, but could be better. Also a little less flavorful compared to De Afgahnan. The veggies are yummy, almost salt baked. My most favorite thing at Dishdash's in general is the cilantro dipping sauce (not spicy) for the lamb. I've had the hummus and baba ganoush which are both good, but I dont know whether theyre the best or not. So no scoring from me. They serve bread and an olive oil spice dip also which is delicious.
