Good BBQ with a great view! Riverside dining. Full bar, cold local tap beers. Seat yourself, waitstaff come to you or you can sit at the bar. Been here twice, because the view is so nice. I've seen them smoke their own food on the river in the morning, so it's legit. Not the best you've ever had, but good enough to want to come back. There's better BBQ places in Savannah, but none have this view. And with live music on the riverwalk, it's a vacation unto itself.

This is not an indoor restaurant, it's an outdoor kind of bar vibe. The staff were friendly and the food came out very quick. It wasn't as hot as I would like it but being on the river the wind was blowing constantly. Parking: I would park in a nearby parking garage and walk. Restrooms: There are nearby public restrooms.

This place was ok. The best part was the staff who were friendly and quick on their feet. Our waitress at the outdoor bar was very attentive and kind. The food was reasonable though the brisket was a bit dry. Collard greens were surprisingly spicey. The Mac and cheese was good though. The location is essentially outdoors, with a nice view of the river, so that was pleasant. For two adults sharing one beer and one brisket entree about $35 with a decent tip. The washrooms were not in the best condition. They were public to anyone on the riverwalk which was a bit odd. All in all, a mixed bag, but glad we tried it out once.

Just a quick stop while we walk around plant Riverside district. The bartender was very quick and attentive to serving us. I love the concept of the open bar outside with a small kitchen there ready with food. We ordered smoked sausage and brisket which came out in less than 5-10 minutes. It was a decent portion for 1/4/lb I believe. It was a good little snack to just chill and enjoy the night.

Smells, and visual view of plates as we walked through River side brought us running to this place. Unfortunately service and food was disappointing. Unsure if they were understaffed or if the restaurant normally has one waiter responsible for all the outdoor seating but the service was poor. We had our food come out before our adult drinks ever came out. The waitress seemed overwhelmed when we asked any questions or if it required more assistance outside of the two times she came out. The brisket platter was disappointing (not able to take a photo). The corn bread was hard as a brick, the brisket was dried, and the portions were way off from platter to platter when it came to the sides. The smoked hot wings were good; however, were a bit dried despite the visual, so had to use the hot bbq sauce to give them some flavor and bring up a little heat. The drinks once they came out did not disappoint though. Would come back for just drinks and maybe a shot at the pulled pork or sausages to see if there is any difference.

Excellent food, vibe and music on the river. Sausage was amazingly juicy and brisket was great.

The place has a great vibe with music just right. Plenty of food with the two meat platter Enough for two.

The food was good but overshadowed by poor service. Unfortunately, the female that served us at the bar was not welcoming and essentially spent the entire time talking to the people on the other side of the bar. We spent the entire time looking at her back and not once did she turn around. So much so that we had to ask said couple to get her attention. Additionally, when she spoke to us it had an air of saltiness. I would think that a barbecue place would also have a variety of sauces but it appears as they only had two and a mustard. Not impressed, won't go again.

As soon as you pass this place, you can smell the bbq and we were immediately attracted! The tables were all taken, so we decided to eat at the bar. We were greeted as soon as we sat down and given menus. We really appreciated the hooks under the bar where you sit to hang your bags. Our waiter was kind and attentive the entire time. I wanted to order the fried pickles but I was told there were out of pickles, so I ordered the bbq mac & cheese. On top of the mac and cheese was smoked pulled pork. It was very delicious! My friend ordered the bbq grilled cheese with a side of fries and it was delicious as well! It was busy with a lot of people and we were still able to get great service and our food came out quickly! I highly recommend coming here for some delicious bbq dishes!

I always love coming to this place. It's always so fast and really good! I had their smoked wings which were really spicy but ohhh sooo good! With a bud light and wings! Chefs kiss!

We stopped by while we were shopping as we were getting hungry and this seemed to be a good place - even if it was one of the only places, around, lol. It was packed, and had plenty of TVs to catch the games that were going on. We ordered several items to share, all of which were good. We got the 'big tex', but on fries instead of a baked potato - which the waiter informed us was an option (thank you!). The BBQ grilled cheese was very good, and was 'toddler approved' even, a very high mark. She really liked the bbq platters that we got here as well. Between the good food and the great atmosphere, I'd definitely stop here again.

Loaded potato & burnt ends meal

As a Texan, I'm always drawn to try BBQ in other regions to see what it's like. District Smokehouse is one of the open-air bars along the River Street area, which is great for people-watching, enjoying the weather and catching a game on their many TVs. The service is great and our waiter was very attentive. Sadly a few of the dishes we wanted to try weren't avaliable due to the storm but there were still plenty of options. We ordered the loaded potato with brisket, which the brisket didn't have the same texture or kick as TX BBQ but the potato was cooked perfectly (pretty evenly baked and didn't seem as rush-cooked as it is in several BBQ joints at home. ) We also ordered the burnt ends, which was sweeter than what we're used to but delicious with the Carolina mustard. Cole slaw was mayo-based, so not my favorite but my friends loved it. Cornbread was good but a bit dry. Overall the food was good and the atmosphere was even better after weathering a hurricane.

Pork was tender and smoky. Great on its own but even better with their sauce! Great amount of pork on the plate. Potato salad was in my top 3! It was creamy and chunky. It had a garlic butter type taste which was Soo good. A must try. Collards were ok but needed a little more seasoning. I added the spicy BBQ sauce and they were good with that. Others had the smoked wings and the 1/4 chicken platter. Wings naked were really good. Chicken was very juicy and flavorful. Service was quick and attentive. Our server was very polite and kept our glasses full as we chugged them down from beach dehydration. Located in a strip center in Whitemarsh. Don't drive by and miss this great BBQ.

Our server was a younger guy who was in training but you would have easily assumed he was a pro. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and confident when fielding the questions we had about the menu. We ordered a Half Slab portion of their St Louis Cut Ribs platter with fries and mac-and-cheese as a side & the 1/2 Chicken platter with Brunswick Stew and mac-and-cheese as a side. Both proteins were tender and well seasoned. Both were served with a piece of buttered Texas toast. Their original and Better than Sex sauces were great additions to the flavors! The mac-and-cheese was creamy and delicious. Not my favorite Brunswick Stew but it satisfied the craving that I had.

A moment later, my daughter asked the same question and was told, "You order here, then sit." It would have been nice if that had been explained to me the first time. Because of the poor service and first impression, I chose not to order anything. My daughter did order, and unfortunately the food was just as disappointing. It was dry, flavorless, and not worth the price. Between the lack of customer service, poor food quality, and concerning cleanliness issues, this was not a good experience. We won't be returning.

The cabbage tasted like it had been boiled in plain water with absolutely no seasoning. Both the red rice and the New Orleans rice reminded us of Minute Rice or Uncle Ben's microwavable rice--bland, lacking flavor, and nothing like the rich, seasoned rice dishes we were expecting. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the potato wedges were cooked perfectly, but those two items weren't enough to save the meal.
