The side of mushrooms was delicious. The salads were more than generous and yummy. We live nearby and forget how good this place really is. Dinka's has been in Oak Brook a long time and weathered through tough times during Covid. The Chestnut Street location may have been a bit more charming (and it featured oyster shooters), but Oak Brook does a great job. Give them another try: you won't be disappointed. read more

I would rate Ditkas above average, but I had to give them 3 stars because I had to return my original order which was a 1/2 slab of ribs. The ribs were very skinny, not really meaty, minimal seasoned, and not very good quality. I then ordered the cod which was very good. The staff was amazing, and I would return just to see improvements. Additionally, I order a glass of red blend wine, $17.00. It tasted very cheap, as if it was a glass of Yellow Tail wine which runs $6.00 a bottle. Disappointing. read more

This place was really good. The Cesar salad was middle of the road. However, the filet mignon was extremely good. It was cooked perfectly to order. The outer char was just right. It was melt in your mouth tender. The only complaint is that it was served warm not hot. We had the Brussel sprouts and the sautéed spinach with mushrooms as our sides. Both were delicious, but again they were served warm, not hot. However, the coconut cream pie was the best I have ever had. First, the graham cracker crust was perfect! The coconut cream had lots of flavor and shredded coconut. This pie was one of the best deserts I have ever had. The atmosphere is one where you could dress up or dress casually and fit in. The wait staff serves your food with thier thumb in you Plate , I mentioned it the rest.manager , He claimed that " management instructed them too " Since when does the management instruct the wait staff to do something so Unsanitary and disgusting??? Then the manager asked me to leave when I was getting ready to eat . So I departed. I started driving north on rt.83 and I tossed the food out the car window , hopefully no animals dined on it and caught food poisoning . BOYCOTT ALL DITKAS ,they appear to be unsanitary .!!!! Ditka's serves up some fine fare. The beer selection is very good and the wine selection is simply fantastic! They also offer a selection of cigars that you can't smoke inside. We started off with the onion ring appetizer, which was really delicious. It had hints of cinnamon and sugar in addition to its deep fried goodness. We also had the flat bread with chunks of steak, which was very good. I had a cup of Crab Bisque, which was just okay. Another member of my table tried the onion soup, which she said was delicious. For dinner, I had the Chipotle Marinated Skirt Steak, which was excellent as was the side of mashed potatoes. Coupled with a glass of 'house' cabernet, this was a very good meal. Wifey had Da Pork Chop with mashed potatoes. I tasted this pork chop and it was just okay. It honestly tasted like the yummy porkchops I make at home and, therefore, not noteworthy. The others at our table shared a t-bone steak, which they said was very, very tender and delicious. The service was very good and the atmosphere was nice. Was it worth $115 for wifey and I? Hell no. While the food at Ditka's is good, we had a less than stellar service experience here. They have adopted a " no hat" policy that they rigorously enforce (i saw several patrons approached) even at brunch. That being said, service attitude was less than you'd expect and I would not go back. For the same money you can go to 10 places nearby with great service. In your hat too. read more

One of the best service experiences we've ever had, and we frequented some 5 star spots in Chicago. This is where I'd take a service staff to observe how it is done. We never waited on the service and in fact, they anticipated our needs before we could even make the request. They clearly took pride in what they were doing. I'd almost come back for the stellar service alone -- except the food was great too! My wife had the lunch meatloaf with sweet jalapeño cornbread, which she said was the best she's ever had, and I had the Santa Fe Chicken protein bowl which was delicious. Every note here landed. We are going back to Seattle now, but will easily be back here next time in Chicago. A must visit. read more

Ditka's in Oakbrook is one of my favorite places to go to for dinner or lunch. It has a great relaxed vibe that teeters between upscale and casual. It's a great place to eat because you can show up dressed to the nines or in casual attire and feel comfortable either way. The service is always consistent and attentive. They have complimentary valet, which is nice, if you are unable to find parking in the parking lot. They have some real stand out items in their menu that appeal to everyone's taste buds. The pot roast nachos and their Fridge burger are two of my favorite entrees. They both are fantastic and have reasonable portions for the price. I also am a big fan of their steaks. They are always cooked perfectly and to my liking each time. They usually have good daily specials on filets or seafood. On my most recent visit, I ordered their fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and coleslaw with hot honey on the side. This entree was delicious, perfectly juicy, and the breading had a nice crunch. The only complaint I had was the coleslaw was a bit on the dry side. My wife ordered the special of the day which consisted of two 4 ounce filets and a lobster tail with green beans and potatoes for $50. I felt it was a very good deal for the amount of food. Everything was delicious and cooked to her liking. The restaurant gets very busy on the weekends, so I would suggest making a reservation ahead of time. If you choose to sit in the bar, it is very nice with ample seating and plenty of sit down tables to enjoy your meal. Ditka's will always be a Chicago favorite from the service to the quality of their food. I will definitely be returning and I give the restaurant a rating of 8 out of 10. read more

If you're a woman, don't bother. Drastic difference in service whenever I have gone with girlfriends or a man. We are kind medical professionals and not snarky at all, so it was disappointing, and gave them lots of chances to be nice. The last TWO times I went, the Valet actually lost my car!! Came to Chicago for a festival, of course Saturday morning we are seeking some brunch spot before we hit our next event. Family member told me to go here... DELICIOUS! I was not disappointed, outside is a nice sitting area servers and valet were super nice. Food got to us quick and it was fresh and every bite better and better. I had a pharmacutical dinner at this Steakhouse. Its named after the great Mike Ditka. The former NFL player, coach and commentator. Its located in a posh area in Dupage county. Oakbrook/Hinsdale is an affluent neighborhood. Oakbrook, IL is where the corporate headquarters of Mcdonalds is located. Think of Oakbrook as the Irvine of Orange County. The difference is Irvine has the corporate headquarters of IN N OUT. Giving you this background information, so you have a feel for the neighborhood. Our waiter was excellent. He was so great I sent an email to management that they are doing a phenemonal job. I do not always do this unless the service is above five stars. I expect five stars everywhere I go. If they go above and beyond I like to reward people. The waiter made several reccomendations to me since I do not drink alcohol or eat steak. Food: My client had the steak ( Filet Mignion) of course and I had the pasta. The pasta sauce had a slight kick to it. For appetizer as weird as it sounds my client got Fish Tacos( With shrimp). Apparently this option is not always available. My appetizer was the buffallo wings with ranch dressing. I ordered a non-alcoholic bloody marry and diet coke for drinks. My client had Blue Label on the rocks and two or three shots of Cognac. There were plenty of selections on the beverage menu. We skipped dessert. Overall excellent steakhouse. We wanted to do something special for my mom's milestone birthday, but we also wanted to keep it simple as she doesn't really like too much attention focused on her, and wow, did Ditkas deliver. With less than two weeks notice (my brothers and I really procrastinated on planning) Ditka's made it easy for us to set up a private brunch buffet for fourty of my mom's closest friends and family to celebrate her 70th birthday. From inquiry to event everything went very smoothly. They were actually one of the first restaurants to email me back when I had sent out emails to several restaurants and venues inquiring pricing and availability and they made sure all my questions were answered quickly. The day of the event everything was set up on time so we were able to get in a little bit early and set up our favors and decorations before everyone arrived. There was also a TV and adapter set up so that we were to play a photo montage of my mom through the years. The room was away from the main restaurant with our own servers and even our own personal chef for a made to order omelet station! The buffet consisted of fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, a create your own waffle station with toppings, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bananas foster french toast, pancakes and their signature 'da porkchop.' Everything was delicious and all of our guest made multiple trips to the buffet and got their fill of the food presented. The servers were great, very friendly and anytime any of the food ran low they were quick to refill to make sure everyone had what they wanted. The restaurant was also kind enough to store, cut and serve the birthday cake we had brought in from an outside bakery. Overall, an ok experience but a super weird and off-putting start makes this a place I won't return. I came with a group of 7 total, and we were seated at a very small round table (looked like it might accommodate 5 max). It was tight! We asked our waitress if there was a larger table (FYI this was a weeknight at 6pm so not a bustling weekend dinner). A few minutes later, the manager comes by and says, I heard there is a problem with your table. I said - yeah it's a little tight, is there a bigger table we can sit at? "No." Derp! That was it. No apology or anything. He said, "no." And we sat there quietly so I eventually said, uh, oh, ok, I guess we'll make it work. So then he walked away. One of my tablemates is a colleague of mine who is a bit... brash. He said, why did you fold like that? That's f-ing ridiculous they can't seat us somewhere else. And I said, I mean the guy said no! lol. What was I to do? My colleague got up and walked around and found a place for us to sit, and he found a sympathetic busboy (hey George!) and a few minutes later, we were reseated (not before my colleague said he saw George being yelled at by the manager). So... yeah. It was super weird. We had a large party and a tiny shitty table, and the manager did not seem to care at all when we asked - who just says "no" and leaves guests? That's poor form, Ditka's, sorry. So anyway. We moved to the larger table (in a very empty room with maybe 3 other parties, so again - it's not like they were slammed) and had a nice enough time. One misstep - I don't eat bacon, and I asked if the twice-baked potato had any. Server said no, it's only sprinkled on top. So I ordered it. Nope, two bites in I could tell there was bacon in there. No big deal - she was very apologetic and I think they comped my meal, but still - it was a misstep. I don't know. The food was fine, and the place is what you expect, but that manager really started our evening off on a sour note. I won't return. read more

I don't like football. I don't understand football. It makes the few TV shows I watch late. It messes up traffic in my town and I get bullied cause I didn't wear the "local team's" gear to work on Fridays. It's slow, homoerotic (yet homophobic), violent, and seems to incite crazy alcohol fueled jerkness in its fans. And the shiny pants just don't make sense. And it now appears to cause brain damage which explains a lot, I think. Because of my active dislike of sports, I never had an interest in going to this restaurant. It's a long story about why I DID end up here, all I'll say is it involves cats, Korea and unemployment. We had a nice red wine, I had the new yprk strip- which was really tasty. I did get the horseradish top. BE WARNED, its realy horseradishy. I got the burn with every bite. I'm a Polack so if I say it has a lot of horseradish, believe me it did. My favorite part was the corm tamale cake . It was unlike anything I have had- moist, with some burn and a great texture. I could have eate a lot more of it. We had the "3 shared sides" which I thought was a bit small to be shared. The dessert was really good- white choculate with raspberry! yumm! And I agree with other reviews the parking and access to the parking lot so sucks here. read more

Came here for a baby shower and the restaurant did a great job of hosting. I did not get to see much of the actually restaurant because we were in a private room which was very good size and kept us away from the main area. The staff was on top of everything always making sure our drinks were filled and we had what we needed. It was buffet style brunch along with an omelette station. The food was very good and warm with lots of options for your omelette. We never felt rushed by the staff which I appreciate because I have been places that try and rush you out of your event once the last 30 minutes hit. I have never came to have food at the restaurant but I looked forward to trying it now. The only negative I would say is the parking lot is very small with small spaces but they do have a garage and valet. Also it's not the easiest to find because it's at the bottom level of a corporate building. read more
