Make sure to read the dining standards and guidelines on their website. This isn't a family friendly restaurant for younger children. There's no high chairs available and strollers aren't allowed so that was upsetting. And no changing station for babies and toddlers in the restroom. The food is decent and a little pricey. My husband and I ate here for the 1st and we loved it. The restaurant had a great ambiance and welcoming staff. We got the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and it was very good. The shrimp were extremely crispy which we didn't mind. They also came with a bang bang sweet/spicy sauce that made the dish in my opinion. I also got the Caesar salad as a starter and it was good. The croutons seemed homemade in house and not pre- made from a bag. They were crispy and very good. My husband ordered the crab bisque and it was absolutely the best- a must order for sure. It was a creamy, rich soup with very good flavor and tons of crab pieces. I got the scallops and lobster and corn risotto. It was very good. I would definitely order again. I do wish I got a few more scallops instead of just 3 but they were cooked crispy and the risotto was very good but, I wish it had more lobster chunks in it because I'm not sure mine had any. My husband ordered the ribeye steak with added Parmesan crust. The waitress suggested the Parmesan crust because it was her favorite and the garlic one has a strong flavor and less of a crisp. He said it was very good and tender. We also ordered the chocolate triple layer cake which was disappointing. The cake was hard and not very good. The mouse was good but I do not like raspberries and there was some sort of raspberry flavored sauce on the plate. The whipped cream given with the cake was delicious though. I would definitely pass on this cake the next time we go. I only gave 4 stars because I wish the chocolate cake was better and for the price we paid I expected all of our entrees to be good not just our main course. Our service was lacking, from the beginning. We didn't receive any bread, with our salad, until we requested it. our meals were served without the sides, that we ordered. We were unable to get anyone's attention, until our dinner was half eaten. When we did tell the server, it was still several minutes until the sides arrived. Distka's is the nicest restaurant in the area. I wouldn't go there on my own, but it's a good destination for a business lunch. I have gone to brunch numerous times and loved it. Saying that I went today anticipating the great experience we were used too. We sat and got menu and was shocked that breakfast was cut 3/4 as far as offerings went. Got the food and potatoes rock hard and instead of two pieces of toast cut back to one piece. 35.00 for a very below average brunch. Not worth it for sure. Went to Ditka's last night for dinner. Our waiter was named Mark who just happened to be a manager. The food was Amazing and the portions were just right. My wife and I both enjoyed our meal very much. Getting back to Mark... He was one of the best Server's we have ever had at any restaurant. Trust me I eat out allot traveling for work. I like this restaurant quite a bit, but their recent decision to remove high chairs and booster seats was not communicated until we literally sat down at the table. Very disappointed. Had we known, we would have made arrangements otherwise. Send an email, make a phone call, put a sign up...anything instead of telling us as we are being seated. If you're moving to an adult-only establishment, then don't make it a secret. Don't leave that communication to be handled by your host staff as they are seating your guests. Took my husband and family here for Father's day brunch. Reservations are a must when you have a holiday so I had made one through Open Table. They had a good selection of breakfast items but since it was mid afternoon we all went with the lunch since of the brunch menu. I had the salmon with red quinoa and broccolini, my husband had a single crabcake with brown rice and coleslaw, my daughter had a burger with fries, and my son settled for a plate of mixed vegetables. Ditka's is primarily a steak place so they don't accommodate vegan too well. The vegetables on the menu are sauteed in a garlic sauce but the staff was willing to accommodate my son but serving them freshly cooked. They do have a vegetarian option which is a cooked pasta. I did not get to inquire about gluten free. Our waitress was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. My salmon seemed a little dry but the touch of lemon on the side perked it up a bit. I truly enjoyed the red quinoa with those added pineapples. It added a "pop" of flavor to it. I also found the broccolini very tasty. My husband enjoyed his crab cake meal. What really looked delicious was my daughter's burger. That I could have really gone to town on. The portion was huge so she asked for a take out container. They combined about 4 vegetables for my son and I got to sample his Brussel Sprouts as well as an asparagus, and a red pepper. All were cooked nicely but since it was prepared plain they tasted the same way you would if you steamed fresh vegetables you would purchase at the grocery store. Nevertheless, I was pleased with my sampling his meal and found them enjoyable. He too was unable to finish it all so he took the rest of it home. Everyone seemed pleased with their meals and it makes a great place to go for a holiday or special occasion. The place does get crowded during those time frames but they have plenty of parking in their own private lot. Such an amazing place! Ofcourse expensive too... We had calamari and bruschetta for starters. The calamari is fresh and well fried. One of the few places that served a crispy calamari. With a drizzle of lemon and the tomatoe sauce they give, this is the best. Bruschetta is like any other bruschetta you find at other fine dining restaurants. They also serve freshly baked bread rolls. Once you break that bread, you will know that it fresh and the cold butter they serve on the side melts as you spread it over the bread. However, for a group of 7 people they should consider adding two small baskets instead of one big basket. Coming to the entree, I ordered tortilla crusted halibut and lobster Mac and cheese. I should say that I didn't eat lobster Mac and cheese more than a couple of spoons, not because I didn't like it but the fish completely dominated the lobster Mac and cheese. It is the best well cooked halibut I had so far. It has a nice crust but it is not oily so it feels so light even after eating the entire dish. The corn salsa adds an additional zing to the fish. I should not forget about the tamale. It is so smooth and so flavorful. I ate at Ditkas for the second time in mid-September. I had eaten there a few years ago with my wife and a few other couples. I must say the food was outstanding this visit. My friend and I had made a 5:30 reservation and were promptly seated. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing. I had a mixed drink and my friend had wine. For the most part, everything is pretty much ala carte. I ordered a 16 ounce prime rib with red skin potatoes. It came with bread. The prime rib was flawless. Great cut, fantastic taste. Potatoes were very good as well. As others have indicated, Ditkas can get expensive. Probably a little expensive for the location. Certainly worth a special occasion. Nine of us had dinner on a weekday. We sat at the bar at high top tables pulled together. It was comfortable and easy to chat despite the TVs. Service was by Christina and her coworker. They were very attentive and we enjoyed. For appetizers, we all split calamari (x2), nachos, and bruschetta (x2). It was a good amount of food and there were leftovers. The calamari was hot and crisp. The bruschetta consisted of triangles of bread with cheese melted in top and a bowl of chopped flavored tomatoes. It was good. The nachos had a lot of jalapeños And were very meaty. They were a heavy appetizer to eat before a big steak. My Caesar salad was tasty. The lettuce was chopped in small bite sized pieces and the dressing was good. There was a lot of cheese. I liked the garlic croutons which was surprising since I usually order it without croutons. But I forgot. I would order this again. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare and melted in my mouth. The blue cheese on top was not shy! The mac and cheese side dish was good. Broccoli too. My husband and I dined here yesterday for our celebration of life. I found out that I was cancer free after a year long battle! My husband is a huge Mike Ditka fan so when we were going passed I insisted we stop to have our meal here. I was so happy and told the waiter that we are celebrating today because we just received a miracle. He was just as happy as we were! He brought us out 2 glasses of champagne! We ate our delicious meal, and when it was time for the bill our waiter brought out 2 dessert menus, we each got to order our own dessert! Again, we asked for our bill. The waiter informed us that the couple that was sitting behind us had paid our bill! However they left 45 minutes ago and we never got to thank them. Meal was served quickly with good spacing between the apps course, soup/salad and entrees. Proper heat on the steak (last time I was at this restaurant my steak was quite cold to the touch.) Talk about a great place to start off your new year! This was our spot for New Year's Eve! The host staff had their hands full on this particular night. And they did an amazing job! Plus, we requested a booth. And even with a full house, we got our booth. For our server, well, he gets a star, but we won't go into farther detail. They offered a shorten menu for the evening. But it offered everything important. For us, we opted to go with the dinner for two option. This included a soup or salad option, a shared flour chocolate cake for dessert and a champagne toast. For our meals, we both got a filet mignon with a lobster tail. Let me just say, our meal here was amazing. My salad was incredibly fresh, BJ's sherry crab bisque was the best I have ever had. Both of our steaks was cooked a little bit less than how we had requested, but we didn't mind. The flavor and seasoning was very good. We also ordered a side dish, we got the Black Jack mashed sweet potatoes. These was heaven in a small serving dish! This is not a restaurant that we frequent. My wife took me here for my birthday as I LOVE steak. Cameron was our waiter and he was outstanding. I couldn't' t ask for better service. We started off with a couple cocktails. I had the Pomegranate Martini and my wife took Cameron's recommendation and tried the Strawberry Daiquiri. She said it was the best one she ever had. For our meals she had the Chicken Madeira and I had the Surf and Turf. ( Fillet Mignon with a Lobster Tail. You can add a huge cup of crab meat to top you steak for only $5, which I did of course! I had the mac and cheese as my side and she had a wedge salad. My steak was cooked to perfection and the mac and cheese was spectacular! The wife thoroughly enjoyed her food as well. Our daughter had her usual cheeseburger which she absolutely loved. Big shocker there! LOL! Upon finishing our meals I was presented with a birthday dessert.
