Made an appointment some time ago to use my yelp purchase at 9 am on Halloween. I remember thinking that was an easy to remember date and I double checked the note I took when making the appointment and yes, it was 9 am on a Thursday. Which is inconvenient. Showed up right on time and no one was there and the door was locked. Waited 10 minutes. Tried calling. Left a message. Waited a total of a half hour before I gave up and left. As I was driving home I got a call from Dee saying she could meet me there in a half hour, and that she had lost her phone. I decided to go back. The place was really cute and she was very apologetic and gave me an upgrade and moisturizer without charge. So I had mixed feelings. Overall, I have experienced better. For less. With less trouble. My first encounter with this lash boutique was good, I loved the way my lashes looked, I got the 50 lashes per eye. Then Dee set me up for an appointment 3 weeks later for a touchup... The touchup was 85 dollars, she put on these ridicolous long lashes so that I couldn't open without hitting my eyebrows pretty hard with my lashes (which was uncomfortable + the lashes fall out easily). I did not ask for longer lashes at the touchup. Second thing that happened is that they count lashes att this lash boutiqe and she started on one eye and then when she was done with the other eye she said "oh that became a little uneven". And when I got to sit up and look, I saw that it was a little more than just "a little uneven". So I asked if she could put more lashes on the one eye to make it even (with me adding money for more lashes, just so it wouldn't look funny). Anyhow she said she had a client waiting so she couldn't. Third thing that happened is that she accidently cut my eye, so my eye was really red for about a week. When I called back to see if I could get an appointment to even out the lashes Dee was very rude and unhelpful so I went to another boutique who has been just wonderful. read more

It's been awhile since I have had a chance to actually review this place. I purchased one of the Yelp Deals of services as I was thinking of getting lash extensions. After a few months I decided I rather not get the extensions and sell the certificate as it would have been useless to me. With no luck I contacted Dee as to what options I have when she mentioned she did permanent make up. After some discussion I made an appointment to have eyeliner done. I went in not fully understanding what I was in for. She had placed some numbing cream on my eyes however she could not get the needle to hold on her machine or something was not really working. After 15 - 30 minutes she was almost about to give up when somehow the tool started working. She tried one eye and the pain was unbearable, the numbing cream wore off and she said that I went into a state of shock. Well I think a little needle poking at your eye and you can feel it would. So instead she gave me a pumpkin facial and said she would schedule an appointment with me in the future when the tool is working properly. I called her twice, left messages and never heard back. I had made an appointment with the eyelash extention technician. However, the day of the appointment was very busy and I was running behind in everything. I called her 15 mins prior to the appt to be polite and let her know I would be about five mins late. She whined about how late I was going to be (****five mins*****) because she didn't want to be at work late. Then when I arrived, only three mins late, she had already called someone in (somehow) to start working on them thus taking my appointment. I thought that was so rude I just left. She could have giving me a heads up when I called her and told me not to rush or called and resheduled. SO I have had three people approach me and ask where I got my lashes done however I will not recommend them to go here because of the rude treatment. I didn't go back after the 2nd time because she kept talking on her personal cell phone while doing my lashes and didn't wash her hands in between. Eww. I bought a groupon for D'Lovely lashes up in del mar and low and behold....it's "D". I purchased a groupon to have 300 lashes but ended up with about 80. During my entire appt, "D" said she was on a conference call but was talking to her family on the phone. It's only been about 3 days and almost all the lashes fell out. They are weightless and comfortable...worth every cent. Her shoppe is not in the nicest location, but that's unimportant since it's located conveniently right off the freeway. Once I was inside, it was very pink and clean. Her prices are very competitive in comparison to other lash extension places. I was also treated like family. Even her adorable daughter made me feel right at home. I was able to make a same-day appointment. Although, she was running really behind schedule she honors her clients and gave me a nice little discount. I got the Diva Diva set, which is 40 lashes and they look phenomenal! I love Dee and her work! I have extensions (lash) before for special occasions, traveling...etc., but they've been uncomfortable. The beginning of summer, I thought I'd try them again and used the Tuesday, Thursday special Dee offered. She was even able to work me in when there was a cancellation! My lashed look great, and I can blink without thinking I have a rock in my eye! I get the little eyelash comb and brush (complimentary) which keeps them looking lush and natural. I've been there while her daughter was there. We've had conversations, she loves coming to work with Mom, because they don't have cable at home and she gets to watch Disney and Nickelodeon. Tell me you haven't used the TV as a baby-sitter sometimes! Dee had her sit while she worked on me, and she takes her time, I never feel rushed, but I also know that they leave afterward. Her daughter isn't there all day. Plus, she's a single-mom and wants to be with her daughter, how sweet is that? She's in an area that is having major construction, and parking is tough, but not impossible. I have to give myself an extra 5-10 so I can park and get to her without panicking. No biggie. I was a little skeptical about this whole eyelash extension deal, but my sister and I decided to try it out anyway. We gave the place a call and the woman who does them is really cool. For first timers, if you make an appointment for Tuesdays or Thursdays, you get a half off discount, which makes the already cheap price EVEN CHEAPER. So we get to the place and there doesn't seem to be any sign indicating where the place is and the area is a bit shady. It's kind of hidden because there's no big sign and it's also a little scary because of the neighborhood, but once you get inside the little room where the extensions are done, the place is decorated very tastefully. Ms. Serra is very talented and she really knows what she's talking about when it comes to these lashes. She's meticulous and really cool to talk to. I opted for the 40 lashes and this took about 2 hours (which ended up being $50 with the 50% discount for first-timers) - they look FANTASTIC! Throughout the process there was a bit of pinching and prodding, but honestly, I just fell asleep for most of the time while she was attaching the lashes (and my sister says I even snored a little - WHOOPS!). When I opened my eyes, they burned a little from the chemicals, but that is normal, and when I looked at my lashes in the mirror, they went for MILES!! My lashes honestly look like they grew a couple centimeters or something - it doesn't look like fake eyelashes or anything. Not recommend, just moved back town looking for a good artiest to take care of my lash, when I called a lady on the phone told me she can do for me tomorrow, also she told me for fill classic is $85 for Volume is $125 for one hour service. I know it's a little too much for fill but I thought she might be very good, so I went there on time, a Spanish lady who was spoke with me on the phone she did my eyelash, this is worst lash i have never done, first all i told her what i want , when she started work on lash about 10 minutes later someone locking the door and she went to out chat with the person for about 15 minutes, honesty i've about leave and she came back telling me sorry about that bla bla bla....so after few minutes later another lady walked in chat with her and she told her to wait, at that time the person was on the phone talking so loud....I came here to get relax to get good service, but she is very unprofessional not recommend to anyone, so my service supposed one hour when she told me done. I looked at mirror ......those lash are not i want....so I gave her $85 didn't tip her at all, after I walked out look at clock total spend 45 minutes inside included she chat with someone total had about 30 minutes unprofessional service. Dee is absolutely amazing!!! :) Dee is extremely professional, accommodating, and talented! She made me feel very comfortable as she happily answered my plethora of questions. She was super knowledgable and explained the process meticulously, in addition to providing a detailed description of all the materials utilized. Overall, the eyelash extension application process was virtually painless and swift. I felt at ease knowing I was in good hands :) The lashes lasted for approximately a month each time. The first set of lashes lasted the longest even though I went hiking, swimming, snorkeling, etc. in Hawaii! Needless to say, I was impressed and so were my friends and family which they expressed with their constant compliments on how full, long, and glamorously gorgeous my lashes were!!! I got my eyelashes done a week ago. My experience with D was amazing! She was really nice and it didn't take longer than 2 hours to complete the process. My eyelashes looked great after. The next day I notice my left eyelashes looked a little patchy and called her and she got me in the next day to fix it. Great customer service! The eyelashes however were great in the beginning but it's only been a week and a lot of it has already fallen off. I have been really careful with them too. Service was great but I think it's too expensive for me to maintain. Probably won't get the eyelashes done again but would definitely come back to D for other services! read more

Do not order a Groupon for Diva Lash Boutique. The owner frowned upon the use of the my Groupon voucher. She said that only 2 of her staff would could serve me since "no one wants to do it because they don't make any money from it". Furthermore, she said that she would only accept 2 Groupon vouchers a day (for all customers combined). With these two obstacles, it was difficult to schedule an appointment in the near future. Groupon gave me a full refund and said that they would contact the owner to ensure they understand that Groupon is about giving the customer a great experience so that they may share the word with people they know - and thereby bring more business in for Diva Lash Boutique. I could not agree more. Also, the owner had an unprofessional demeanor on the phone, asking "Who is this again?, and even requested that I hold the appointment with my credit card, and if I was a no show, they would charge my card $25.00; even though I already bought the Groupon voucher - so why would I not show up? I will start by saying that this is the only place I have had eyelash extensions done, so I do not have anything to compare it too. I went there twice, second time for the refill. There was some nice things and some not so nice which is why I can only give it 3 stars. Here's my experiences. I went here with my mother who has had lashes done several times and different places. We decided to try this one because the prices are good. The first time we went, we got there and the shop appeared to be closed. Dark inside, no one around. We finally got ahold of her on her cell phone (took a couple tries) and she said she was in north county because she had forgot she had run out lashes and had to go get some. She said she was on her way back so we waited. She finally arrives thirty minutes late. Once we finally got inside, the shop is cute. She did my mom first and then me. She did explain what she was doing since it was my first time. However about half way through she kept picking up her phone, I dont know if she was texting or what. Then it rang and she answered it, twice. Now my biggest problem with that is that she goes through a whole procedure to disinfect your eye, clean it, and she wears gloves. But obviously her cell phone is not sanitized, and after touching it she puts her fingers straight back in my eye. Did not seem very good to me. Not to mention it left me sitting in the chair with my eyes taped shut listening talk to her friend (was clearly NOT business call, not that would matter anyway) for 5 minutes. All in all, the lashes did turn out pretty and both of us liked how ours looked. Our second visit we tried for a week to get ahold of her. Called and left messages, didn't get calls back. Finally we got an appointment scheduled, but the day before my dad fell ill and so we called to cancel. Again she didn't answer but we left a message. After he was better we had the same trouble getting ahold of her. When we finally did she got rude with me saying we missed our appointment last time without telling her. That wasn't even true, but especially after the long wait she made US have for her the first time I think it was especially annoying. She said she waived the cancelation fee for us but wouldn't do it again. Um, ok...? So we go back for our refills, she AGAIN, takes a cell phone call in the middle of doing my eyes. So clearly not a one time incident. I'm sure there is regulations about that kind of thing? Anyway they again turn out fine looking at least. After we walked into another store there for a minute, but then we had to leave because there is only ONE parking spot and someone else had an appointment. Not her fault but annoying. The lashes lasted a very long time, my mom said longer then other places she has had them done. However they were glued on so strongly that when they finally did come off, they pulled out virtually ALL of my lashes. All in the lashes did look nice, the prices were comparable, but there was some Inconvinces and attitude to deal with. TLDR: Pros: Her prices are less than others I've seen online. The shop is decorated cutely. The lashes DID come out nicely. Very full and pretty. The lashes lasted a LONG time. She said 2-4 weeks and they lasted 4+ both times. Cons: Parking is hard, she only gets one spot in the parking lot. She will answer her phone while in the middle of working on you (unsanitary). Doesn't answer or return calls a lot of the time. She ran VERY late (30+minutes). All of your eyelashes might fall out after. read more

1 stars because basically it was my fault for getting the eyelashes cheap. My real eyelashes were basically glued all over with the fake eyelashes. It started to come off in around 2 days BUT!!! IT REMOVED MY REAL EYELASHES TOO. Now I'm looking like I'm bald asf on my eyes. I'm just mad the fake eyelashes removed my real eyelashes. These extensions have changed my (cosmetic) life! They're amazing, my eyes always look beautiful and naturally awake. I no longer have to wear eyeliner (this from someone who has worn eyeliner everyday since I was allowed to). I was most worried about maintenance, since I lead a very active life. I just got my lashes done for the first time today and I'm really happy how they turned out. Dee took her time and did a great job. She managed to fit me in very last minute as I had an unexpected trip out of town and wanted to get them done before I had to leave. I think it was the set of 50 I got, and they look great. Dee took a few minutes to look at my natural lashes and then recommended the right set/length/curl to fit my eyes the best. They look both natural and glamorous at the same time. :) I went conservative the first time as I was not sure how they were going to turn out and as I'm fair skinned and blonde, I was worried the dark long lashes would look unnatural on me, but they look amazing! might even spring for more lashes next time..... I sat with my boyfriend later for coffee ( he didn't know I got them done) and he smiled a lot at me and said I looked beautiful, and I knew he didn't see anything unnatural, he would have said something. :) I'm in love with these lashes. Other pluses: very competitive prices, got a nice first time client discount, and the salon is adorable and very comfortable, and Dee is very sweet and friendly. I did feel a small amount of pulling and a little pinch or two, but nothing overly uncomfortable. Dee was so helpful and worked around my work schedule. The shop is adorable and comfortable. What pleased me the most on my first session was prior to beginning Dee inquired what results I was looking for and she was able to pick up on my personal style and incorporate that with the lashes.. to be more specific I love the pin up look and she placed the eyelashes in such a way it gives a cat eye effect. After purchasing this Groupon I tried to contact them numerous times with no response. I contacted Groupon and they wanted to try and contact them instead I decided to leave them one more message. I finally got a return call. I set up my appointment and went. She continued to lecture me on how it was the most basic set (which I purchased knowingly as I read on the website). I wanted to give the lashes a try before I put a ton of them on. It was 35 lashes per eye and by the next day over half of all of them on both eyes had fallen out. So I text her, Dee, and let her know I was going to out some makeup on with them to see if I like them or other wise I wanted them off. No response. Of course. I called on Monday after getting the lashes put on Thursday after noon and there were probably 5-10 left on each eye. She just kept explaining how I bought the basic package and had I bought a upgrade it wouldn't be like that. Then also stated they use the same glue. Which was obviously the problem since the did not stay attached. And yes I did follow the after care instructions. She was "trying" to sound polite while still being condescending letting me know I could come back in and she would put them on again for a little less than I already paid for the first set that didn't last 2 days. She told me when I left on the day of my appointment that I would need a touch up in 2-4 weeks. I guess she meant days. I wanted them on for Valentine's Day that didn't work out. I was completely baffled as to why she would offer me the same thing that I already completely wasted $55 on for a lower price to have them redone. Why would I waste any more money on this when they all fell out within two days. I should have went with another establishment. One with more professionalism and better products. I wanted to give the extensions a try but I don't even know if I like them or not since I only wore them mostly just the rest of that day. Don't waste your money or your time. I have been going to Dee for 6 months and have yet to be disappointed. The quality and service are phenomenal. I always receive compliments on my lashes and they look and feel natural! I have also tried some of the products they offer and I love everything. The brushes are high quality, don't lose their bristles, and are reasonably priced. The amino mist is amazing because it feels fresh and has softened and helped even out my skin tone. I also use her cosmetics and I absolutely love the eyeliner and mascara. The mascara isn't clumpy nor too thick and actually helps extend the life of my lashes almost re-bonding them. I am definitely pleased with the service I get and Dee is so friendly I love coming back for my sessions. This was my first time getting extensions. I wanted them done for my wedding. I bought a yelp deal which made it very affordable. It was an overall good experience. If I do it again, I would try the 100% natural mink lashes (as opposed to the slightly cheaper kind). My one complaint would be that the non-mink lashes felt stiff and unnatural (like the false lashes I use that I buy from the drugstore). Otherwise, Dee was very quick and did a good job! read more
