Casper was our waiter and was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly informed and helpful and very patient and kind. The food at Divieto's is always amazing but Casper was extremely helpful for picking out the perfect dish (I'm very indecisive and so waiters like this are extremely helpful!!) The woman who also served our food was amazing and super sweet! Honestly, anything you get here is fantastic, I got the mushroom risotto but I've also gotten the ruoto di parmigiano and salmon fusilli and all of it was wonderful!! Casper did fantastic and was also wonderfully patient and fun. Just had dinner there.. So Disappointed . My husband Ordered a Ribeye Steak $46 It looked like a flattened burger.. and when asked to replace potatoes n veggies with pasta got the Bill and they charged me an additional $11 for it .. I ordered the Eggplant which has always been the Best there for $23 and yes it was good but what use to be a pyramid of good sized eggplant was now 4 round disc sized pieces . Ambiance was great, service was fine, and food was fine. We stopped in for lunch and sat outside. They have a great patio and I enjoyed the details of the restaurant from the uniforms to the dish ware, but I didn't find the service to be anything special. It was a bit slow at times, and the waitress didn't try to connect with us at all. The food was a bit mixed, but overall was disappointing. We tried the tuna salad which had very stringy tuna, the tuna tartar which was pretty tasteless and the margarita pizza which was the winner of the group, but wasn't anything special. Lunch for 3 on a Sunday. Sat out on the patio, which was well shaded and not too crowded. Tables are well spaced. Our server was attentive at first but we lost her after food arrived. Getting the check was difficult. The food was our least favorite part of the experience. I had the seared tuna salad. Salad looked terrific but lacked taste. The tuna was VERY stringy. I ate 1/3 of the tuna and left the rest, no comment from the server. Pizza was the best thing at the table. I've been a fan I Divieto for many years. Tonight I met a friend for their HH at 4 PM. Wine prices were great but I never knew they also had special HH food menu in addition. A nice selection of bar food at very reasonable prices. The bar service even though they are also assisting the wait staff was outstanding. As far as ambiance it's an extremely comfortable place to dine with a few separate rooms which is nice to keep noise level low during busy times. By all means if you're arriving after 5PM especially in season without a doubt visit their website or call and make a reservation. read more

My wife and I decided to eat here while visiting a store nearby. The atmosphere was nice but not better than most italian places we have patronized in the past. Our server was Brandon, who seemed a bit distracted and failed to revisit the table for refills, unless of course I placed my empty glass on the edge of the table nearest the walk through. My wife enjoyed her meal, except for the steamed broccoli, which wasn't steamed enough. When she ordered an espresso, she received something smaller than the smallest cups I have seen, as if they have to downsize the already small amount provided in coffee shops and then not fill it to the rim. I received a portion size equal to a stouffers lasagna in the kids section of the grocery store, which did not have any other vegetables accompanying it. Finally, the place did not offer a military discount. Overall, I would not revisit this restaurant. read more

Rather disappointing visit to Divieto, which had been one of our favorites. Tonight: not so much. We sat at a high top table in the bar area. Our server was very nice, but service was not great - had to ask repeatedly for menus, no bread despite 2 requests, no water refills, just not very attentive. I actually observed her make our cocktails, and my Cosmo was pretty bad. Other than service issues, we were sad to see they have raised their prices, and considerably; for example, the fettuccine ruota di parmigiana increased 25%. We were also very disappointed that they were out of Limoncello! They were also out of it at our last visit a month ago - unacceptable for an Italian restaurant. All told, at this point we're not in any hurry to return to Divieto. read more

Divieto is a great option in Coconut Point. The burrata pizza is very interesting and I would get it again. The chicken Parmesan was also good. Looks like a chain restaurant (like Maggianos) but with a 1920s Chicago vibe. Dark dining booths include more intimate seating and cafeteria style where you sit at a table near other diners. Servers were not very attentive - we were seated and I discovered a grease blob on my "clean" bread plate and asked the server to replace it with a new one - never to be acknowledged again about it. I had to self service... we ordered the seafood scampi and mushroom dish, with a Cesar salad and two drinks. Drinks were great - very flavorful. The same can't be said about the food. The mushroom pasta was void of any flavor. I felt like I had to add salt and pepper to every bite. Also pretty greasy. The scampi was good but had the smallest amount of fish you can imagine. My entree of choice was my usual, the Mascarpone Penne pasta with sautéed blackened shrimp, chicken, carrots, mushrooms and green peas. Tossed in a garlic mascarpone cream sauce. My husband had the Chicken MADEIRA, Sautéed chicken, topped with fresh asparagus and melted mozzarella cheese, covered with fresh mushroom-Madeira wine sauce. Served with mashed potatoes. Honestly this place looks really nice and the food is pretty good but recently I went for my birthday and got their signature dish (the pasta that they throw in the wheel of cheese) and I have to say that I was very underwhelmed with how it was presented, also I ordered a salmon cooked medium and they brought out a small piece that was cooked extremely well done (im talking not a drip of moisture). They did give me a new salmon and it was much better but by then my pasta was cold. Im sure this was a rare mistake possibly and they did take care of the issue and removed my dish from the bill but they told me the pasta was their signature dish and regardless of the salmon being over cooked the dish was still underwhelming. (Im attaching a picture of the pasta but keep in mind I added the rosemary and mushrooms myself picking off my families plate and the salmon is the one they brought me after i told them the first one was overcooked) read more

Cheese wheel is excellent start as appetizer share with 4 people. Ribeye was done perfectly and the lemon sea bass was excellent. Service was outstanding. Only problem was noice level in the small room area was not ideal for having a conversation with our guests. A party of 10 was in the small area and it wasn't a good experience from how loud the party so much noise. We were seated immediately. We asked our servers, Amber and McKayla to expedite our service. We were on a business trip and some of our party needed to catch a plane. The Mascarpone Pasta was very tasty, spicy, and creamy. First time trying this dish but I was very pleased at the blends of flavor. However, the Ruota Di Parm is their signature dish and experience. They make the alfredo pasta right in front of you at the table, inside a humongous imported cheese wheel from Italy! You have to experience it for yourself, but it was a delicious display of culinary creation! The fact that you can sample the parmesan cheese from the wheel is a nice touch (but it's better when melted together with the pasta).
