My wife and I decided to eat here while visiting a store nearby. The atmosphere was nice but not better than most italian places we have patronized in the past. Our server was Brandon, who seemed a bit distracted and failed to revisit the table for refills, unless of course I placed my empty glass on the edge of the table nearest the walk through. My wife enjoyed her meal, except for the steamed broccoli, which wasn't steamed enough. When she ordered an espresso, she received something smaller than the smallest cups I have seen, as if they have to downsize the already small amount provided in coffee shops and then not fill it to the rim. I received a portion size equal to a stouffers lasagna in the kids section of the grocery store, which did not have any other vegetables accompanying it. Finally, the place did not offer a military discount. Overall, I would not revisit this restaurant. read more

Rather disappointing visit to Divieto, which had been one of our favorites. Tonight: not so much. We sat at a high top table in the bar area. Our server was very nice, but service was not great - had to ask repeatedly for menus, no bread despite 2 requests, no water refills, just not very attentive. I actually observed her make our cocktails, and my Cosmo was pretty bad. Other than service issues, we were sad to see they have raised their prices, and considerably; for example, the fettuccine ruota di parmigiana increased 25%. We were also very disappointed that they were out of Limoncello! They were also out of it at our last visit a month ago - unacceptable for an Italian restaurant. All told, at this point we're not in any hurry to return to Divieto. read more

Cheese wheel is excellent start as appetizer share with 4 people. Ribeye was done perfectly and the lemon sea bass was excellent. Service was outstanding. Only problem was noice level in the small room area was not ideal for having a conversation with our guests. A party of 10 was in the small area and it wasn't a good experience from how loud the party so much noise. We have been to dinner at Divieto a number of times and will continue going no matter how much noice. read more

The salad was simple, with mixed greens, julienned carrots and zucchini, tomatoes and red onions with a house made Italian dressing that is the best I've ever had. My entree of choice was my usual, the Mascarpone Penne pasta with sautéed blackened shrimp, chicken, carrots, mushrooms and green peas. Tossed in a garlic mascarpone cream sauce. My husband had the Chicken MADEIRA, Sautéed chicken, topped with fresh asparagus and melted mozzarella cheese, covered with fresh mushroom-Madeira wine sauce. Served with mashed potatoes. The service was absolutely stellar and the ambiance was quiet and inviting. The outdoor patio area is pet friendly. If you like old fashioned's, then you must try their's. read more

Looks like a chain restaurant (like Maggianos) but with a 1920s Chicago vibe. Dark dining booths include more intimate seating and cafeteria style where you sit at a table near other diners. Servers were not very attentive - we were seated and I discovered a grease blob on my "clean" bread plate and asked the server to replace it with a new one - never to be acknowledged again about it. I had to self service... we ordered the seafood scampi and mushroom dish, with a Cesar salad and two drinks. Drinks were great - very flavorful. The same can't be said about the food. The mushroom pasta was void of any flavor. I felt like I had to add salt and pepper to every bite. Also pretty greasy. The scampi was good but had the smallest amount of fish you can imagine. Other diners looked a bit more dressed up than casual, which is interesting considering it's in a mall. Won't return. read more

Divieto is a great option in Coconut Point. The burrata pizza is very interesting and I would get it again. The chicken Parmesan was also good. The food here is absolutely phenomenal! I am from NY & the food was outstanding so it's kind of hard to please me once I leave NY lol but this place is exceptional! Our waitress Cristina was amazing! We were seated immediately. We asked our servers, Amber and McKayla to expedite our service. We were on a business trip and some of our party needed to catch a plane. We received our food quickly and it was prepared perfectly. The menu has an abundance of choices. I had the chicken Marsala, which was delicious. It was a large portion served on top of Pappardelle noodles and the Marsala sauce was amazing! Honestly this place looks really nice and the food is pretty good but recently I went for my birthday and got their signature dish (the pasta that they throw in the wheel of cheese) and I have to say that I was very underwhelmed with how it was presented, also I ordered a salmon cooked medium and they brought out a small piece that was cooked extremely well done (im talking not a drip of moisture). They did give me a new salmon and it was much better but by then my pasta was cold. Im sure this was a rare mistake possibly and they did take care of the issue and removed my dish from the bill but they told me the pasta was their signature dish and regardless of the salmon being over cooked the dish was still underwhelming. (Im attaching a picture of the pasta but keep in mind I added the rosemary and mushrooms myself picking off my families plate and the salmon is the one they brought me after i told them the first one was overcooked) read more

Pet-Friendly on the patio. For a nice Italian restaurant like this, you wouldn't think it would allow pets, but it really makes this place stand out that it does! Very cool atmosphere inside, and out, with a cool story about its decor. Extensive wine and spirits list, so there's something for every palate. We had the Tuna Tartare Starter, which was very fresh with a great sauce drizzle. Our main dishes were the Mascarpone Pasta, and the Ruota Di Parm. The Mascarpone Pasta was very tasty, spicy, and creamy. First time trying this dish but I was very pleased at the blends of flavor. However, the Ruota Di Parm is their signature dish and experience. They make the alfredo pasta right in front of you at the table, inside a humongous imported cheese wheel from Italy! You have to experience it for yourself, but it was a delicious display of culinary creation! The fact that you can sample the parmesan cheese from the wheel is a nice touch (but it's better when melted together with the pasta). Went to Divieto's for Christmas Eve for dinner with the family. Overall positive experience and the waitress Daisy was very pleasant. The food was awesome with the exception of the salmon pasta. The salmon was not cooked well and the dish overall was very bland. Would not recommend. The lasagna and the Mascarpone pastas were both delicious. Nice warm evening so we could eat outside. Wait staff all had masks. We ordered cocktails, an appetizer and a main course. Total bill including tip was 120 bucks or so. Pretty much the typical Italian restaurant. Entrees were familiar and somewhat on the mundane side. No interesting or unique flavors. That's not to say that the ingredients were not quality as they definitely were. Its just nothing to give it the LaGasse "Bam!" Entrees were huge so plenty left over to take home. We could not have been more pleased with our recent experience at DiVieto in Estero. My father passed away 2 days before and this was the one restaurant my grieving mother wanted to go to. Vanessa was kind enough to squeeze us in given our situation. Then, when we arrived, the manager Isdel, presented my mom with a candle in remembrance of my dear Dad. The kindness was above and beyond and we are so grateful. It meant so much to us all at a time we needed it most.
