My husband and I wanted to find a restaurant we hadn't dined at before to celebrate our anniversary. We looked at menus online and picked Divieto Ristorante and were so glad we did. The dining area is nice and even though the restaurant was busy, it wasn't too noisy which was great. There is an outdoor area that looked nice. I'm fairly picky about food. The fact that I'm raving about this restaurant says a lot! Emily, our waitress was just attentive enough without hovering. It was fun watching the Burst my Berry Bubble drink be made. It was a bit sweeter than I expected, yet good. If it had been a little less sweet it would have been perfect. The pear salad was the best I've ever had. The flavor of the dressing was perfectly balanced. My husband said the minestrone soup was slightly different, yet good. The fettuccine cheese wheel, and the lasagna were excellent. We went all out and decided to order dessert. The restaurant served us a mini brownie on the house and my husband wisely ordered the regular sized one for himself. They also gave us a bouquet of flowers and a card signed by the staff. We were both touched at the thoughtfulness. If you have a chance to go there you will be happy you did. Every dish I have tried at Divieto has been phenomenal, but you have to go for the Ruota di Parmigiano. If I could get one of those cheese wheels in my own home, I would. The bread is good, the atmosphere is nice, and outdoor seating is also nice. A bottle of red wine to go with your meal is very much welcomed. read more

Recently went to Divieto and had an amazing dining experience. The drinks were delicious. I had the lychee Martini and my daughter had the sunrise spritz. My father in law had white wine but he spilled his drink on me and the lovely waitress ran over to clean the table and brought him a new glass of wine. My daughter had the lobster ravioli and she couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. I had the Fiocchi Di Pera Pasta it was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The flavors danced on my palette. My husband had the veal Parm and he loved it also. I will definitely return here and I will buy my father in law a gift certificate to this place on his birthday. Updated review again as of October 2019 I went back to Divieto at the request of the restaurant. I did go back with my wife and did enjoy our meal very much. The restaurant did a good job catering to us and obviously read our review. We each really enjoyed dinner and appetizers. I did make it a point to tell JJ that we would be back and would order the chicken parm. Watch for that review. We will head back to divieto in November 2019. Updated review as of August 13 The place has changed. The delicious sauce and cheese on my chicken Parm is no longer. It is cheap cheese and doesn't melt nicely and ooze. Original review This place is squisito (in Italian, exquisite) and you will truly love your dining experience. Where do I begin? Oh, perhaps with the antipasto! Where else should I begin then with the beginning of the meal!! The antipasto was delectable, there was a spicy capicola that was so good. I'm not a big cured meats guy, and I am pretty picky about brands in this area. The assortment was phenomenal and I had to hurry because the rest of my family was enjoying this phenomena too. The cheeses were incredible and smooth on this platter. Another addition to our meal was the mozzarella caprese. The tomato's were small and sweet, the mozzarella was very moist and soft as mozzarella should be. This was the buffalo milk mozzarella. Just enough EVOO and Balsamic vinegar on this dish with some basil. We had several dishes to dine on here and the family tried every single dish The rib steak was melt in your mouth fantastic. The polenta was simple, and delicious as a complement. We tried the fettuccini Alfredo "table side" which was incredible folks. Stop the presses here as this was the absolute best presentation and flavor. Not runny sauce. Good stick to the pasta with incredible flavor and richness that was not "too much". I would be surprised if anyone said "meh, not for me". It's by far the best presentation and I have made this in a restaurant for years. It is legit for sure! There was so much presentation, decor, and great service to this establishment!! You will have an incredible experience. There is a drink called the "Moscow Mule". Go for it!! Caprese salad was okay, the tomatoes tasted a little off and it could've used more balsamic but the cheese kept it all together. We ordered the Burrata pizza and it was fine, if not a little too rich. Made us feel a little sick about an hour later. A little pricey, but not more expensive that you'd find around Coconut Mall. This is a beautiful establishment with fantastic food. Everyone in my party was pleased with service and food. Took my grandmother here for her 89th birthday! The servers outfits are very cute and classic (loved the suspenders and newsboy cap). I had the Fiocchi de Pera because I've never seen a pear pasta dish listed anywhere. From their menu: Delicious pasta stuffed with pear and Italian cheeses, in a four cheese cream sauce. Topped with fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes and candied walnuts. We also had the caprese salad which was fresh and delicious. My family members had other dishes but I didn't bother them with photographs but they all really enjoyed their food and even the person hardest to please in our party was very happy with their meal. When Divieto opened in June 2017 in the former Bice location, we heard several good reviews. We want to try for ourselves to see if they live up the expectation. When you walk in, you notice their style, tint roof, black and white floor tiles, typical of some of Brooklyn Ristorante back in New York! There is a small waiting area on your right as you enter. A private dining area in the front was insulated for comfortable and quiet dining. Due to the summer heat, no one was sitting on the outside tables. You can tell right away that the staff were well trained, no waste of movement and quick to act! After sips of red wine, we ordered fried calamari as a share appetizer. A warm bread with Olive oil dip was served. Later a huge plate full of calamari, fried zucchini and yellow squash with marinara and garlic aioli was a hit! The calamari were lightly battered with just the right amount of seasoning. The blackened Salmon over arugula, spinach, cucumbers, zucchini, asparagus, onions and peppers in balsamic vinaigrette was great. Salmon was finely grilled but slightly on the salty side. Next time we'll tell the chef 'light' on the salt. The Grouper Scampi was lightly floured in a garlic, basil and lemon butter with shrimps and sauce served over linguine. Well done here! The Chicken Parmigiana was a huge piece of tender chicken with marinara sauce and melted Mozzarella and a good portion of linguine with homemade tomato sauce. Next, we have the Ruota Di Parmigaino or Fettuccine Alfredo in table side service. Excellent taste as cheese scrapped off the huge cheese wheel and tossed right at your table side. We finished the diner with chocolate Lava cake. It was delicious! This is one of best Italian restaurant in the area! A must visits and you'll not be disappointed. read more

Manager needs to hire a Reservations manager: I have left messages and emailed her to request a reservation for our company with NO response. Finally called to today's and the girl who answered said she has told the manager before about the lack of response from his Reservations manager from other inquiries. I'm moving on to another place that cares about the customer. Too many other great Italian choices. read more

Everything about Divieto is 5 stars! From the greeters to the bartenders, the waiters, managers and the busboys (and girls), we were treated with respect and attention. Ordered off the lunch special since I felt the menu prices were to high for my pocket While we were there our waitress told us about happy hour So I went back the next day for 3-6 happy hour There was no draft American beer except for 1 that he hates. This was a solid Italian restaurant to go to if that's what your craving. They have a large menu with all the staple Italian American foods as well as a long wine and drink menu. Was here with a few colleagues from work. We ordered a bunch of basic appetizers like calamari, cheese board bread etc. they were all be try good, what we would expect. For my dinner I ordered a pasta dish. I ordered the chicken Marsala. My knock here was that the chicken was overdone and super chewy. The pasta was also a little to under cooked. They were parts that were almost like eating plastic. But for the CHicken that was cooked nicely was amazing and the pasta was homemade you can tell by the fresheners and thickness. I came and ate here during my visit with my grandparents. And it was so good that we ate lunch there one day and dinner there the next. I got a spicy shrimp pasta (i forget the exact name) and it was to DIE for. My grandma got fish over risotto. She gave me a bite of hers and it was so so so good. So I really wanted to be blown away by this place but after eating at a close by Italian eatery it just didn't measure up. The service was great. The bread was good but honestly just a bowl of oil with it doesn't cut it. We had Caesar salads and unfortunately I found myself pulling a lot of brown lettuce out of it. My husband had the pear pasta dish and that was honestly incredible, star of the show. I ordered the lemon sea bass and unfortunately I had to send it back. From the moment it was set in front of me it reeked of the worst fishy smell. Which hello, it's fish but it was soooooo bad. It made the entire dish tasty like nothing but fish water. The restaurant was very remorseful which we appreciated and they gave us free dessert. It did help but still stunk because it was our anniversary. read more

I stopped in here for Dinner this week. I heard a lot of good things about Divieto so I wanted to see if I agreed. The restaurant was very nice inside and reminded me of other good Italian restaurants I have been to. They start you out with some warm bread. It was a dark drown with some oats on the outside. It came with olive butter. I am not a fan of olives but still gave it a try. The olives were not overpowering, but I still prefer no olives. I then tried the alfredo. I heard this was served out of a parmesan wheel tableside so I wanted to see that. They first scraped off a little cheese for me to taste and it was delicious. After a little explanation they tossed it and served it to me. The alfredo was creamy and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The service was great. Our waitress was very nice and on top of her game. I will have to come back again and try another dish to see if this can get up to five stars. read more

Visiting here from Columbus,Ohio where we are spoiled by having one of the best restauranteurs in Cameron Mitchell, his restaurants all over are run so well...tonight at Divieto we may have just had the best dining experience from top to bottom anywhere. (Including Italy and France). This place is run like a well oiled machine with everyone from the front of the house to the bus boys/people and everyone back in the kitchen (we sat back towards the kitchen) all on the same page. Everyone was focus on their job and seemed so genuinely happy to be working there. The food and service aren't usually both so damn good but the food was just as good. We had the spinach artichoke dip and quinoa salad to start and both were exceptional in taste and presentation. For the main courses we shared the Chicken Piccata and Pappardelle with meat sauce and meatballs. (Not sure what pasta the meat sauce is usually served with but I love Pappardelle and saw in served with another dish so I asked to have it substituted. Both sauces with our pasta dishes were so well developed, you could taste wine and garlic among the other herbs that were cooked down in the meat sauce, it takes some time to get that right. The Piccata sauce also had a perfect blend of olive oil, wine, lemon, butter and garlic and the chicken and veggies were tender and carried the sauce well along with the pasta. Had no room whatsoever for dessert but saw many enjoying them. Rarely do you stop the server and managers (2 managers visited our table multiple times even with a packed house) to tell them what a great dining experience they provided. Regret that we only found Divieto on our last night here on our Sanibel/Captiva vacation. There are so many other things we wanted to try...the Fettuccine Alfredo served/prepared in a Parmesan cheese wheel was a hit with several tables around us and we had planned on sharing the 40oz tomahawk ribeye but after seeing so many great things in the menu we decided to try multiple items and so glad we did...EVERYTHING was perfect! read more
