I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and broccoli rabe. The broccoli rabe was ok 3 stars and I didnt care for my meatballs because they lacked seasoning. The meatsauce and spaghetti were delicious and definitely better than average. My husband got the alfredo which was better than my dish. Some of the best Italian food and hospitality we've encountered. My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner. We started with Arnold Palmers for drinks (very tasty). We had the delicious eggplant parmigiana appetizer. For entrees I chose our waiter Jose's favorite meal, the Mascarpone with penne pasta, grilled chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, carrots, and peas in a succulent cream sauce! So good! My husband had the Madeira with tender chicken medallions draped over a bed of mashed potatoes with asparagus in a wine reduction.. I have to say my food was very good but that sauce! Amazing! For dessert he had the brownie with ice cream with warm chocolate and berries and I had one of my favorite desserts, creme brûlée.. both were perfect endings to a perfect meal. I can't leave out a comment about our waiter Jose he was so charming, pleasant and attentive. JJ, one of the other waiters was a hilarious. You could tell the staff love their jobs and entertaining customers.. we had two managers stop by to check on us and we couldn't stop talking about how great our meal was.. at the end of our meal the manager brought us a card signed by many of the staff members.. it really was a level of detail we hadn't seen in any other restaurant.. our experience at Divieto was superb! I had "GF Wild Mushroom" and my sister's all had the "Ruota Di Parmiggiano" there signature dish (both dishes were so delicious and I highly recommend both but from the taste of these two I would imagine everything is pretty delicious on there menu. The atmosphere was great, casual but you could dress up if you would like (we seen a mixture of both) pricing was very reasonable. The location in Miami/Doral was excellent last time I was there, so I was expecting a great experience in Bonita; I was not disappointed. Sat outside on a nice evening in a pleasant patio. I had the Siciliano, it was great. Wifee had the Chicken Madeira and absolutely loved it. Guests had Lasagna bolognaise and chicken piccata and loved the place. Only problem there is that they need to enlarge the restaurant! Make a reservation days in advance or eat very early or very late. read more

We were celebrating a life well lived, repast luncheon. The entire staff could not have been more helpful. With these types of luncheons, the number of guests is often a moving target. They worked with us to adjust the seating on the spot. We had pre ordered appetizers to be served upon arrival and they made sure to adjust those quantities to serve our additional guests. Brandon our server took care of the now larger group with ease, efficiency and a warm smile. The food was delicious--enjoyed their meals. The kitchen was able to put out all of our meals timely and prepared perfectly. We've eaten here a few times--all of our experiences have been great as well. I am a regular guest for dining in. The food is good and service is ok. Today I wanted to order a takeout. We order mussels, antipasto, and pasta with clams. I get my takeout order and their was no bread. I asked for bread and the manager said that it would be 5 dollars for bread. If I ate in, it would be included. ​​My takeout was 80 dollars. Come on.. I returned to Divieto this past week for the parm wheel pasta. I had my granddaughter with me and thought this would be a treat. The food is always good. But the service was sub-par. Maybe they thought a grandmother and child wouldn't tip well? Who knows. It was clear that they didn't give a hoot about us. They put us in a corner and barely paid attention to us. First dinner on our vacation (celebrating my birthday) - wife excited to have the tableside fettuccine. Five for dinner. Ambience is wonderful, although some Sinatra would be better than the pop music that was playing. Appetizers were excellent - fried items not greasy, Burrata perfect. Our server, Lauren, added to the wonderful start. Tableside pasta preparation was amazing! Wife and kids absolutely loved the rich creamy pasta, and added proteins were grilled perfectly. My entree - different story. Could Not replace fried polenta (deep fried cubes, tasted oily when tried), so had it plated separately and ordered an additional polenta parmigiana side (this was excellent)). Six lamb chops - flavor was amazing, but requested medium rare, not jerky. One chop was perfect, two were well done, three were almost well done. Apparently Chops far too thin to control temperatures properly. Definitely not edible in spite of flavor. Returned mostly untouched (charged though). Sad to think the best part of my meal was a polenta side that I had to order as an addition. Excellent service, great pasta tableside prep- but mixed feelings because I was quite disappointed. We've dined in this area for nearly ten years, and I regret to say my lamb chops were the best flavored, totally overlooked, lamb chops I've had l Will consider returning, but unsure. After doing some school shopping , we looked for dining options . After doing some research , we decided on Divieto , Italian for prohibition . We started with appetisers ; Eggplant , truffle fries & polenta . The polenta was the star . When an establishment is able to accomplish simple items exceptionally , the more nuanced options will be executed with care . The only draw back to the appetiser course was that the eggplant was a tad salty . This is probably from when the eggplant is prepped & salted lightly to drain the water from the vegetable ; this particular time , the salt was probably applied too heavy handedly . For dinner we had the capellini with mushrooms , spinach & sundried tomatoes as well as the gnocchi formaggi . Both exceptional . The pomodoro sauce is smooth , supple & simple ; where the tomato was allowed to shine through . Again , exceptional work on giving this simple sauce the ability to stand on its own . The bread is just enough & comes out on a cutting board with a moderately dull knife . Portions are proportionate to price points . Desiree's service was attentive & she was always there at the right time . I wish I could say that service everywhere was as detail driven as this . The icing on the cake of the entire evening was that I was able to get ristretto espresso . After serious mulling , I am glad we chose Divieto . I recommend Divieto . Especially if you have an itch for authentic flavour . If the company is looking to expand , I vote heavily on a Sarasota location . read more
