We just had a conference at the Hyatt Coconut Point and I had a crew of customers I wanted to take out for a nice dinner. The hotel recommended the restaurant and I have to say, they were spot on. It was casual and relaxed and the food was excellent. There were a bunch of us and most had different entrees and everyone raved about how good it was. I had the salad with salmon and I had trouble finishing it. The service was perhaps a little slower than I expected but the staff was excellent and really knew how to make the evening enjoyable. I recommended it to another group the next day and they came back raving about this place as well. Great food, great atmosphere, A+! read more

Very disappointing experience. Met friends for dinner and were the first to arrive. We were seated and the menus which are the size of large binders were placed on our bread plates. In this environment they need to be more cognizant; perhaps stack the plates to make room for placement of the large menus. Needless to say we asked for clean plates. I ordered the pasta with seafood in a pomodoro sauce and requested it extra spicy and saucy. My entree arrived with very little sauce and was tasteless; lacking seasoning and no spice whatsoever. Our waiter never returned to our table but I did find a very nice gentleman and explained the situation and asked for red pepper flakes. He indicated that he would bring it back to the kitchen and make it right. It returned with more tasteless sauce. My husband finally found someone to bring red pepper flakes which slightly improved the flavor. Still no sign of the waiter the same gentleman also noticed we needed another round of drinks. My wine and my husband's beer arrived quickly but our friends moscow mules came after completing our dinner. My husband ordered their specialty; fettuccini alfredo. His comment was simply that it wasn't as good as Olive Garden's. Yikes!! Place was packed; I am convinced Floridians need to come to Chicago and experience good food and their standards would change dramatically. I was told by neighbors it's a very mediocre and pricey place and that sums up this establishment. I gave 2 stars since our friends seemed to enjoy their salmon and chicken piccata. Middle of the road restaurant Like the place, food was ok but not for the price. Skirt steak and potatoes $33. Steak was semi tough potatoes were cold My partner had a good meal. Grouper Scampi. Service was lacking but the runners were great. Waiter didn't come back to the table until it was time to take home any leftovers. Was not brought bread and had to ask for it as well as a steak knife. Would be willing however to try it again based on other reviews. read more

Restaurants come and go in Bonita Springs, and in fact this one replaced another one that failed in this location. If they continue to do the things they are doing now they will be very successful in this location. The food was excellent the service was excellent the prices while not inexpensive are not exorbitant either. Everyone at our table had something different, and everyone was pleased with what they had. The decor is very nice though the restaurant does get a bit noisy. The menu is extremely complete with all courses having several selections. All in all I would say that the four of us loved our experience. read more

My friend and I had lunch here on Saturday, and had an excellent experience. As the restaurant was very quiet (its off season), we were given an option on where to sit and we chose a booth. The menu is extensive, with many choices. We both ordered salads, chicken Caesar and Cobb. Both salads arrived quickly and were extremely generous in size - too much for lunch! We were going to a movie after, otherwise we would certainly have brought them home! Bread and oil were a nice accompaniment to the salads. Our server was excellent and attentive. The manager came by a few minutes after our lunch was served to check on our meals, a very nice touch. read more

This is a fantastic restaurant, we drove 2 hours over from Aventura and the service and food were both exceptional! Their Lentil soup is one of the best I have ever had and we had the sea bass and their signature special pasta dish with grilled shrimp that was excellent, fresh baked bread with olive oil; Great Italian flavors, service was on point, we never had to ask for anything they were always there... I will definitely be making the drive over at least once a month to visit this location even though there is a location in Doral and tell my family and friends in Bonita Springs about this restaurant. My new favorite restaurant is Divieto not only do they have amazing Italian food but the most outstanding service! Mike was our server and the experience was a true 5 star experience! I really cant say enough about this amazing restaurant; the prices are low and you get true 5 star Italian cuisine. The manager also heightened our experience by offering us a complementary dessert called the tres leaches which was fantastic! I never write reviews but I am so blown away by the food the service and the affordability that I must insist if you want an amazing dinner book this first!!! We found this new restaurant on Yelp! So pleasantly surprised. They seated up with only 15 minutes till closing, served amazing fresh entrees with a smile . The manager came by to check on us and stayed and told us about designing the space. Divieto means Prohibition! The decor is all 1920's with great photography from the era. This has to be one of the best if not the best spot for italian around the area. The food was amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant fit perfectly and the presentation of every plate was excellent. Our server was an older gentleman who was attentive throughout the entire time as well as gave great recommendations. I can't say enough honestly. Pricing is extremely reasonable as well. With SWFL being plagued by disappointing Italian restaurants one like Divieto was much needed. read more

Let me start off by saying the food is terrific but, I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the way the service was, especially being our first time in this establishment. I came because the 4 stars it had. Our server KEVIN did very little service. Id say even the bare minimum. All he asked was what we wanted to drink and order & that was it. Nothing more. Didn't even bring the bread and olive oil that is required before the food even comes out!! Everyone else around us got it except for our table. Didn't bother to ask "how's everything tasting? Do we need anything?" Didn't refill my drinks, NOTHING. Mind you I came with 4 adults & 2 toddler boys. He has the audacity to charge my bill "gratuity" because he says it was a party of 6...??? No it was not. Do not get toddlers confused sir with ordering off the adult menu. As a matter of fact they shared food with us. So $22 got charged on my bill for what he THOUGHT was a party of 6 when it was technically 4. Kevin did SO LITTLE & expected SO MUCH! On a positive note, there was a lovely Hispanic girl who put together my fettuccine Alfredo very nicely and she was very thorough when she was communicating with us. And what seemed to be Kevin's server assist was very courteous as well I wish to have Gotten his name but i know if I see him I would remember. These two are the only reason why I even gave this review 2 stars. If i could give 0 stars for the vibe Kevin gave us and how he treated us I would. Due to your servers service is the reason why me or my family will not be returning to your restaurant. First time here and it was a big let down considering the fact the food was so good. read more

I really wanted to be able to post a five star review. However, there are a few issues. I ordered the grouper scampi with vegetables on the side. Grouper was great but tremendous inconsistency in the vegetables. Squash and green beans were cooked well but the carrots were hard. My husband ordered the red snapper but it definitely was not red snapper. It must've been pink snapper or some other type of fish. You could tell from the density of the fish. We were seated promptly and our last two visits our server was Paul and he did an excellent job. Also, Johnny who was assisting Paul did an excellent job. On our lunch visit, my husband's New York strip was not medium rare as ordered and wasn't very tender. I hope the address these issues as we do really enjoy the vibe of the restaurant. read more

This was our first time to Divieto's. We were in the area and stopped in (wish we were not dressed as casual as we were, but they still made us feel welcome). Happy hour is until 6pm and includes a small selection of apps in addition to the half priced drinks... only available in the bar area. We will be back for this, since we had our toddler with us during this visit. Ambiance, cleanliness, service, and food: ALL impeccable. From the bread to dessert selection, you will not be disappointed. Our server Michael was very helpful in his wine knowledge and navigating our menu decisions.
