I really wanted to be able to post a five star review. However, there are a few issues. I ordered the grouper scampi with vegetables on the side. Grouper was great but tremendous inconsistency in the vegetables. Squash and green beans were cooked well but the carrots were hard. My husband ordered the red snapper but it definitely was not red snapper. It must've been pink snapper or some other type of fish. You could tell from the density of the fish. We were seated promptly and our last two visits our server was Paul and he did an excellent job. Also, Johnny who was assisting Paul did an excellent job. On our lunch visit, my husband's New York strip was not medium rare as ordered and wasn't very tender. I hope the address these issues as we do really enjoy the vibe of the restaurant. read more

This was our first time to Divieto's. We were in the area and stopped in (wish we were not dressed as casual as we were, but they still made us feel welcome). Happy hour is until 6pm and includes a small selection of apps in addition to the half priced drinks... only available in the bar area. We will be back for this, since we had our toddler with us during this visit. Ambiance, cleanliness, service, and food: ALL impeccable. From the bread to dessert selection, you will not be disappointed. Our server Michael was very helpful in his wine knowledge and navigating our menu decisions. More like a 3.5 So my friends and I were going to see a movie and we wanted an early dinner. I found this place on yelp and based on reviews I figured why not try it. My friend asked if it was casual attire and after looking on yelp it said it was so I said yes. Yelp was wrong. My friends and I arrive and we are clearly under dressed, I was wearing jean shorts and a T-shirt my friend was in yoga pants. That attire recommendation needs to be changed just saying. And I believe we were treated differently because of it. We were placed in a separate room from the main dining room. Also it did not feel as if the air conditioner was on because we were sweating. We were also placed by a window with its shades closed. It was not helping as the sun was still shining through. I know that the restaurant has a certain aesthetic but in Florida where the sun is strong, invest in those electronic shades for the windows... so the sun does not bake your guests. Or turn up the AC, either one is fine with me. Lastly, our waiter seemed to only interact with our male friend (3 girls and 1 boy). Except for taking orders, he only spoke to my male friend. Aside from that, the food is amazing! We each had different meals and no complaints there! My friend and I might come back in the future depending on circumstances. read more

3 words - De Lish Us!!!!! Very well run restaurant. Our server Austin was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great suggestions. Food was amazing - from appetizer to dessert. Had the jicama tacos as an app - something different but pleasantly surprised by the lightness of the dish. Burrata was also very good. The fresh mozzarella is so creamy. Pear salad was one entree- looked as good as it tasted. The star was the fettuccine Alfredo made in a Parmesan cheese wheel straight from Italy. Thought it would be heavy but it was surprisingly lighter than I expected. I'm renaming it death by cheese. Creme brûlée was light and had a hint of orange/citrus that was perfect. Went last night, 6/17, with a group of six. Beautiful restaurant! They went all out for the "speakeasy" ambiance. Everyone enjoyed their food, portions were generous. The calamari was excellent and perfectly cooked. Linguine siciliana was very good - excellent fresh tasting shrimp. Gnocchi was delicious! Chicken Marsala and veal scaloppini also were very good. We were a bit disappointed in the cheesecake - it is NOT Italian cheesecake,as described, but a NY cheesecake, made with cream cheese and maybe some sour cream?. Definitely no Ricotta! Nevertheless, it was good, just not what we expected. Espressos and cappuccino were authentic and well made. The restaurant did get warm as the night went on - management should check the AC. The food is spectacular especially the Fettuccine Alfredo. The personal presentation of being prepared at your table was a divine experience. The noodles come out hot and ready then they are swirled in a whole wheel of parmigiana reggianio cheese and served dripping with goodness. Forget about going to Italy, this dish will blow you away. Beautiful environment and delicious food! We ordered two pasta dishes, one of them being the famous parmesan cheese wheel Alfredo pasta and it was absolutely delicious. Portion sizes as perfect and you can tell the pasta is made fresh. We also got the calamari appetizer which was delicious. As well as the cannolis. Very nice atmosphere- dress up type of place. We ordered the cheese wheel pasta (delicious- too cheesy for me but my boyfriend loved it) and the salmon vodka farfalle... so delicious! Service was great and there was even a live classical music singer, which really set the mood. A little more on the expensive side, but not bad at all- especially for the ambiance! The ambience is perfect for a date or even a classy evening out. The food is out of this world. Try the alfredo with the wheel! I went here for dinner tonight. It was absolutely horrible. The chicken parmigiana was the worst I have ever had. Cheese doesn't melt and no sauce on chicken parm. Vodka sauce on side was not good either. I have been to Divieto Ristorante a few times before, it used to be so good. Saturday March 25, 2018 After having reservations for 2 weeks, and being seated buy a Hostess, a manager dressed in black, approached our table, grabbed the menu from my out of town guests, and told us we could not sit or be served at the booth assigned us by the hostess. When we protested his actions he became very angry, let us stay, and proceeded to the hostess stand in a very bad mood. Our server Michael was embarrassed by his actions and was very sorry for what happened. He said he would make the balance of our experience very good, which he did. That manager should go! I had read prior reviews before coming to Divieto. I felt deja vu when I witnessed a bus person spending 15 min changing propane tanks and futzing with the gas outdoor heaters. To no avail I add. I was immediately seated by pleasant folks. As I was alone remaining settings were removed from my outdoor table leaving a dirty water glass. The waiter, Reese, was attentive and was clearly working hard covering 6 tables as I could see. Unfortunately I had to request bread with olive oil and it arrived, cold, 30 seconds before the entree. I had the Caprese Salad which was blah mozzarella with hot house mealy tomatoes though nice fresh basil. My entree, the grouper scampi, was, well I'd say BLAND is the best I can say. It was over cooked, coating bitter if any flavor. The scampi was described to be in a lemon-caper garlic cream sauce. I saw no capers. I suppose the two whole mushy garlic cloves were to count for the garlic. The only lemon I noted was the slice garnish. Certainly none in the overall flavor. "Italian" cheesecake was the best course. Hard to mess that up. This place had great reviews and just this morning someone recommended it to me. Perhaps I was expecting too much. I really hoped to be wowed. Vanilla, bland, meh, average are the best I can come up with except for my waiter who was terrific. read more

2/19/18...I went last Saturday as a party of 1 for lunch. There were only 2 people ahead of me on the wait list. Several parties came in after me. 30 min later, as all of the larger parties were seated ahead of me I asked if I had been forgotten. The hostess stated that the manager said she must seat the larger parties first. This was the most rude and unethical treatment I have ever had in a restaurant. I guess my money is not as good as a large party. Won't ever be eating at this place again and will let anyone who inquires know how badly I was treated by management. RUDE.RUDE. RUDE. read more

The service was okay- just a little slower than usual, it was a weekday night too. we sat outside on their lovely patio. We ordered the bruschetta which was yummy- but we ordered it because we were hungry and it ended up coming out with our entrees, so that defeated the purpose of ordering it. The waiter ended up comping it. I ordered the chicken piccata and my boyfriend had the parmesan wheel pasta- was kind of jealous of him! The cheese is SO fresh and yummy. Great experience and food. We dined with our 7 and 10 year old. My husband got the filet and I finally chose the fettuccine alfredo served table side (it was hard to chose, everything on the menu sounded so yummy). The kids ordered from the children's menus: chicken fingers and cheese pizza. We also ordered an appetizer that we both imagined differently while reading the description (thin slices of beef, topped with mushrooms, arugula and Parmesan) and when it came out was totally different than we were expecting, but a very pleasant surprise and very good.
