I went after not getting my nails done the whole winter so you could imagine the horror. Tried to use the yelp coupon, but it's only available Monday thru Wednesday from 9a-4p no big deal since I didn't read the deal. So paid $75 for full set with gel and a pedicure with the extra scrub. My boyfriend and I decided to go on Saturday, July 21, 2018 to Divine Nails after spending a fun day Go-Kart racing and archery. I wanted to end it with something relaxing and decided to get our hands and feet pampered. I requested Kimmy based on the positive reviews she had on Yelp. We both got the Divine package (manicure and pedicure). I also wanted to try getting gel manicure (it was my first time). There was 4 ladies but unfortunately I can't recall their names except for Kimmy. My boyfriend said he liked the overall experience but I did not due to the following reasons: #1. I told Kimmy it was my first time trying on a gel manicure and I believe she took advantage of the statement by doing a poor job. #2. I told her several times regarding the edge of the nails not being painted and she did some but not all. # 3. Kimmy was short on massaging my hands/arms. #4.The left toe near the pinky was incomplete, it was painted poorly (not by Kimmy). *See photos of gel manicure nails and pedicure feet.* Overall, a disappointing and unsatisfactory experience. This place looks like any ol' nail salon from the outside, and any ol' nail salon from the inside as well. Really nothing special about this place at all. I'll tell you a negative right off the bat though, they're short staffed so prepare to wait for a little bit before being attended to. I went here with two of my friends. The people working here were VERY friendly, and welcomed us with open arms, however, as I said earlier, they were short staffed so I started getting my pedicure first, then my friend started getting her manicure about 20 minutes into my pedicure and then my other friend started getting her pedicure at least 35 minutes into my pedicure (I got a 15 min extra long foot rub). While waiting didn't REALLY matter to me, because my friends and I were just chatting up a storm, I do tend to HATE when one person goes and one waits, because the other person or people will eventually have to wait for someone else... But when it's a first come first serve kind of thing, I get it. This all being said, the reason for the THREE STARS is because well, this place really wasn't anything special and while my toes are "cleaned up", I actually really don't like what they look like, ha! That being said, my extra long massage was pretty great (although it could have been a tad bit stronger), so I'd invest in a longer foot massage for yourself if you want extra pampering. I had a very mixed experience for my classic mani-pedi. The mani was a hack job. The lady was talking on the phone and rushing (not sure why, they weren't that busy). She didn't even bother to try to paint within the lines and the coats and edges were completely uneven. I had chips a day later and the polish did not last 3 days on any of my nails. On the other hand, the gentleman that did my pedi was extremely attentive and took a lot of time to smooth out some rough, uneven parts of my nails. He did a great job applying the polish, and they still look great a week later. After the job was done, he hung around to make sure I was completely dry before moving and even helped me with my bag. I have a bad cut on my thumb and she made sure she didn't use the nail polish remover on that nail so it doesn't hurt me :) she took over an hour to do my nails!! I'm not a fan of long nails and I play the violin so can't have them be too long. She asked me if I'm comfortable with a certain length and shaped it accordingly. That's amazing service! Good spot! I'm kind of picky with my nail salons (cuticles must be super clean, and if the polish looks glop...the place is a flop). I called in very last minute for a manicure, and they were able to accomodate me right away and provide me with a great manicure in 20 minutes (in and out the door)!!! The nail technician was efficient, yet detailed. My cuticles lasted only a few days though, before growing in a bit rugged--wasn't too thrilled on that. August 9th 2019: I went in around 3:30pm for a powder dip/manicure. Sat down, the lady started buffing my nails with the electronic buffer....ok, normal for dip nails. Then pulls out the polish to start. I clarify that I'd like a manicure, as well. She acknowledges that and keeps going, saying she'll "cut after".....no, because if you paint before you trim cuticles, the paint will look like my nails have grown out right away. Fastfoward, she gets a bowl of cold water. Has me soak for less than 30 seconds, and starts cutting my cuticles. That's when the magic happens. CUT CUT CUT blood blood blood. She cut a hang nail on my thumb so deep, it bled for the next hour they took to finish my nails. She sprayed with alcohol and gave me a tissue. Then, with it still bleeding, she wanted to proceed with DIPPING MY NAIL IN THE POWDER (unsanitary for me, as well as future users). She got impatient after a few minutes and snatched the tissue from me. She started wiping my thumb....I explained it was better to keep pressure on it than to wipe but she wouldnt listen. I eventually pulled my hand away and said "no" quite loudly. A lady who seemed to be the manager (Judy) came over and gave me neosporin and offered to do the manicure. She was polite and kept apologizing. She didnt fix the crappy cuticle trim, but seemed to do a decent job on the powder.... Nope. She filed my nails down to where the connecting skin feels raw on some fingers. At the end, she tried charging me the full $35. I said I would pay part but the whole ordeal lasted until 4:45pm, and the results were subpar. I said I'd pay for a regular manicure, and after arguing and calling "her boss" outside, she agreed. She had taken my card from where I set it on the counter with her outside, and charged it before she explained what she was doing. She was still on the phone and when I asked how much she was charging as she swiped, she wouldnt say until she handed me my receipt. My nails look crappy, and what was supposed to be a relaxing Friday after work turned out bloody and stressful. I won't be returning. My friends and I came as walk-ins and they gladly accepted us. It seemed like a slow Saturday afternoon though. When we were seated, there was only one other patron besides our party. I asked for gel nails and I'm pretty satisfied with the results. However, the experience was just alright. It was very different from what I experienced at Black File - Nail Social. The nail technician at Divine did not try to make small talk with me, instead she was engaged in a conversation with her coworker even though I was with a friend for both locations. When I was at Black File, the nail technician made sure that I was satisfied with what she was doing every step of the way. She always asked for feedback and made sure that it was what I wanted. I felt like the service was rushed at Divine even though no other guest stepped in while we were there. The nail technician was done within a half hour while at Black File, the whole service took about an hour. Mind you, I paid the same amount for both places. Overall, I'm not sure if I'll ever come back to this nail salon. With the intense competition now a days, I feel like Divine needs to step up their game and differentiate themselves! read more

Did a random walk in to fill dip powder nails which I am new to. The tech I got I saw upon walking out of my car on her phone. She did not introduce herself so I don't know her by name- long black hair lady. I thought she was the owner at the time and so trusted the beginning minutes being there. Even though it was slow she delayed service because she was on the phone 95% of the time I kid you not and that's being nice. The color I chose ran out even though it was already a seriously sad color selection. When I chose a color just to make a quick decision she brought out the up powder in its container nearly empty. She had me dip my fingers in a bowl of acetone and I told her I prefer foil bc it dries out my cuticles and skin; she told me it's the same thing. She then put the finger clips on with swabs of acetone in which she applied in a messy, rushed way. She proceeded to pick up her phone on and off throughout the session and apologized and then repeatedly do the same thing. Then bc she didn't have patience she poured acetone over the clippers- wtf. She filed my nails with the drill that felt like a jack hammer. It's not my first time getting nails as I've gotten acrylics numerous times. I told her the level is up too high and she said that's what you think but you'll get used to it - which later she nicked my finger that bled as she's on the phone - what a surprise! - to which she later proceeded to glue it with nail glue over the cut- wtf again-- (made sure to ask if that was skin glue or nail glue to which she confirmed nail glue). During the removal process seeing how it was going terribly wrong, I told her I just want to do a removal. To remove the dip powder residue she used a tool to scrape off and dig into to lift, the latter was unpleasant. Instead of using the drill at a low level she would prefer to dig even though I told her it hurt. She did okay on filing the tips but when she did one crookedly she said "it's bc of your finger huh it's crooked", lmao. I told her I don't think so I have very nice fingers. She also proceeded to charge me full price even though I just asked for removal which is inexpensive she told me it's full price and she said there's nothing she can do about it bc the manager is not there but I can get 10% off on Yelp, lol. I said that's fine and advised she should pay attention to her customers than being on the phone when customers pay to get full attentive service - then at that point she said okay and just charged half off. The result was that it was taken off enough but not completely and was bumpy to the touch on the surface from so I had to go home and buff it myself. I think she was dealing with personal issues, which I can sympathize with but if you aren't well, do the customers a favor and take the day off. Also, learn some business ethics, manners, and be courteous. Didn't want to write this but I think you guys need to know. Thanks. Update: When contacting support, Nathaniel is not the owner but the correspondent. For a refund that is due for damages, he would bribe for the review to be taken down if requesting refund. He also says that they have close ties to Yelp so they can report extortion, which he called my $100 refund for damages when it should be way more than that since my nails, cuticles and skin around it is severely messed up after their service which they had the balls to charge me. If you had close ties then you wouldn't bribe me and go to them. If you were a good honest salon doing honest service, you would do the right thing and refund me for damages. He also wouldn't leave voicemails, I think for fear of evidence but would try to contact randomly throughout the week. I was nice to even do a $75 refund being that their salon looks very low on funding but they won't unless you take down your review. I will report your salon to Yelp. Have a good one. read more
