When we opened the boxes at home, the "Jalea de Mariscos" that I was so much craving, came with NO "Tartar Sauce" and a "tiny portion of Onion Salad".-that in 4 bites, it was gone. (We ordered 2 of these Jaleas, and both came with NO Tartar sauce and a tiny onion salad.) We all know that Jalea without these 2 toppings, is not a Jalea. The Tartar Sauce and Onion Salad is what makes the Jalea delish, specially because the Jalea here wasn't even seasoned well. Their excuse was that it was Mother's Day and they were so busy that forgot to add the tarter sauce, etc. If that's the case, and you are going to be so busy and hectic, then don't open that day for business and charge full price for food, if you are going to serve mediocre. Besides, this is the 2nd time that a Take out comes incomplete. My Mom ordered Lomo Saltado and they forgot to put the rice on her box! Come on! Thank God, I know how to make Onion Salad, so I had to make it myself at Home...and Thank God for the Pollo Tropical Cilantro Sauce I also had in the fridge, to compliment this Jalea dish. My brother used to come here a lot when he was in Miami and highly recommended it to me. I came here for a quick lunch during a work trip. This was the first time I had a lunch during work travel because of covid. There were temperature checks and a mandatory mask policy until temperatures were checked. Lysol was sprayed onto the table and seat and wiped down before sitting down. The menu was by QR code - very thorough. I ordered the arroz con mariscos which has plenty of seafood and flavor. Came here before leaving my mom in the airport. We were in a hurry so we got attended really fast. The chips they give for free were amazing crispy and crunchy. I had Lomo Saltado with fettuccine which were great but I really was expecting more meat, since it's a 18 usd plate and don't know why I got served like 6 tiny meat pieces. My partner and I were in the mood for seafood. So we discovered this ceviche restaurant near our home. We walked in and right away the ambiance was warm and welcoming with a modern rustic feel. We were sat and our server seems to have forgotten our menus.... It turns out, there are no menus but there is a QR menu to access menus online (very post-pandemic modern). When we finally figured that out, we ordered ourselves some drinks (beer and wine) and (2) appetizers. The food is excellent. The ceviche trio was flavorful, the fish was tender and you couldn't stop eating enough of it. We even drank the ceviche juice ... the mini tacu tacu was a new experience. It was like a potato cake with charred beef and a qual egg. Very familiar flavors just put together in a unique way....(Delicious!!!. For the appetizers we have Mini Tacu Tacos, fried yuca and Boliyucas en salad huancaina. I wasn't too much of a fan of the yuca and cheese balls but everything else was delicious. Especially the Tacu Tacos. OMG I could literally eat that as my entree. For the entrees we had fish ceviche, arroz con mariscos, Jules mixta and I personally had the Lomo Saltado; although I tried some of everything. The fish ceviche was delicious. I literally plan to come back and get the Tacu Tacos and the fish ceviche. That's how good it was. The Lomo Saltado was a little salty. Perhaps too much soy sauce or something. The meat (beef) was cooked well. It was just a bit too salty that I couldn't finish it. I didn't complain in the restaurant. I just gave it to my dog once I got home. With the pleasure of Yelp, I was granted a free glass of wine and I also had their house lemonade; which was divine. It was just the right balance of sweet and tart! Had a free evening in Doral prior to an MIA flight the next morning. Mamacita was hoping for something different than the norm and with the help of some previous Yelp reviews we chose Divino Cerviche. When we walked it was obvious we were the only people in the place that spoke English. I knew we were in for a treat. Not having access to Peruvian cuisine we opted to sample a handful of appetizers. As you'll see from the accompanying pictures, plating was nicely done. The Tequeños Rellenos De Lomo Saltado, or wontons, were ok but our least favorite. The flakiness of the wonton was great but lacked any real flavor. I wish a more flavorful sauce accompanied them. The Pulpo En Salsa Anticuchera, or octopus was unbelievably tender. Choritos A La Chalaca, or cerviche was tasty and the mussels were nice change from what we're used to. The hit for us was the Mini Tacu Tacus Con Lomito, tacos. Who doesn't love a well cooked quail egg to top things off. Side note, maybe expected in this area, but for us service was a bit slow. Staff is pretty good for the most part, the waitress took a little long to greet us which was weird because the restaurant was pretty empty, but for the most part she was cool. Didn't have the best experience here, I hadn't eaten all day and when I got the food I was disappointed! the ceviche didn't smell too appealing and the taste wasn't too good either. The Aji de gallina wasn't so appealing either ( taste wise ). I only ate a little bit of it and left the rest.... I didn't wanna complain because I was tired and wanted to leave ASAP. The ceviche was very good. I got the once with both fish and shrimp, it's a chunkier kind of seafood. Then we ordered the squid, we felt that it was too salty so we didn't even bother to eat it. This is the only reason why I am giving it 4 stars. Now the rice with Mariscos was really really tasty! It's a fried rice with mussels, calamari, and shrimp. It's spaghetti tossed with Peruvian style pesto sauce and topped with a stir fry of lomo, onions, cilantro, soy sauce and garlic. It's Lomo Saltado, with a twist and it's absolutely delicious. Oops I did it again !!! I found a gem in the middle of a shopping plaza in Doral . I must say that I have eaten in Peru and this place is actually better than the food in country. We started out with the tacu tacu carne asada appetizer that was beyond amazing. We had a combo of seafood fried rice , ceviche and Jalea and it was also amazing . Not at all I hoped for! We had a male server (Carlos) who was just VERY pushy and stood over me with the cc machine watching me leave a tip. There is NOTHING better than going out to eat and having a food server spend time with you (if it's not too busy as when we were there) and help guide you to a meal that you'd enjoy not just push his customers into expensive drinks and numerous menu suggestions. I felt the menu items were just too overpriced for what was served. I got a $25 seafood platter ('Anticuchada De Mariscos') that had only a potato cut into 4 slices as the starch on the plate. The various seafood on this plate was very tasty but the quantity of food was disappointing and after finishing the whole meal, I was still hungry, it was really a big disappointment. We also ordered the 'Fettuccini Pollo Saltado' which was OK at the best, and at $15.99 was more filling than my $25 dinner. The tastiest dish was the 'Arroz Chaufe de Carne' which was basically beef fried rice for $14.99. I don't mind paying any price for a dish but it needs to be a great value, tasty and filling. THE BIGGEST RIP OFF WAS THE "FREE" GLASS OF WINE THAT WAS ADVERTISED ON 'YELP'. CARLOS HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS ABOUT AND WENT TO THE MANAGER IN THE OFFICE AND CAME BACK TO OUR TABLE AND SAID 'OK' AND BROUGHT MY WIFE THE GLASS SHE REQUESTED. THEN TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY CARLOS CHARGED US FOR THE 'FREE' GLASS!!! By the time we were done and after the obnoxious treatment from Carlos, I got the check, paid and we got out of there. YES, it was my fault that I did not notice I was charged $9 for the 'Free' glass of wine but if the server was doing his job, the glass of wine would have been addressed before he brought me my check. Eating here was a mistake and then getting ripped off was inexcusable! There are just too many GREAT restaurants in the area. Not only will I not ever return but I will be sure to let friends know about my experience and make sure that they don't get Carlos as a served AND TO THOROUGHLY REVIEW THEIR FINAL BILL! read more
