Done with this place. Half of the tables were empty and yet there was a 45 minute wait. When we asked why so long they said because there are other people waiting. We came again, my boyfriend and I, and another couple. We ordered the calamari and stuffed knots as apps. The calamari was excellent. The stuffed knots as well, just a little too greasy for me personally. The 4 of us all ordered drinks and food, we all got burgers. Everything was very good. Service as well! Although it is a bit pricey, I personally think it's worth it. Plan on bringing more family and friends that visit from out of town! read more

Pete's used to be a great place to go for vegetarians. DJ's has done away with all vegetarian options. This used to be my favorite place to go for delicious lunches and great family dinners but not anymore. I went once since the change and could only order a house salad. Very dissatisfied. So sad. We visited last weekend and had a wonderful server and experience. When I arrived home, I learned my son wrapped his retainer in a napkin and forgot it. I rushed back and begged them to let me dig through their trash. The manager at the time, Lupe, not only allowed such a disgusting chore, but she gloved up and jumped right in with me. We must have dug through the grossest assembly of barf-worthy discarded food for the better part of 45 minutes. It was only after I found my meal (we were the only party that ordered the monkey bread and then didn't really eat it) that I realized we had CLOTH NAPKINS! So minutes later, Lupe and I dug through the much cleaner bags of recyclable laundered napkins and the very last napkin in that second bag carried my son's retainer. At which point, after seeing all that nasty garbage, I was willing to pay the $175 for a new set had it been mixed in with all that hep-c! lol But Lupe was GREAT. Well I think I've given this place enough of my money for mediocre food. It's not great it's not terrible but it's definitely over priced for the quality of food. The service is good and friendly. If I drank alcohol then maybe I'd hang out at the bar but even the calamari appetizer seemed to be plain. I had the fish and chips this time and didn't even eat the coleslaw because of lack of flavor. Three little pieces of fish (that almost looked like glorified fish sticks) and a bunch of fries. Anyways, I'm done good luck Pete! My husband and I came here for dinner Sun since we miss having one in Antioch. We arrived around 3pm so there wasn't any wait. We were sat in a booth, and Anthony was our wonderful server. He came by with our menus, and took our drink, and appetizer order. We both got a mug of Pete's Halftime IPA $8.50 ea. which be both enjoyed. For our appetizer we ordered the Artichoke Dip w/ sliced toasted Focaccia $14.99 which was quite delicious. We got an XL Pizza with half Creamy Garlic Chicken (NO ONIONS) & half Pete's Italian Garlic $32.99 When Anthony brought out the pizza, he actually had 2 in his hands. One was a medium size Creamy Garlic Chicken pizza to make up for them accidentally putting onions on my half of the XL pizza. Obviously, we didn't mind. We appreciated the fact that they caught the mistake and I didn't have to pick off all the onions. Anthony did a great job checking on us, getting plates, ranch dressing, etc... Really our only complaint was some employee's were wearing their masks under their nose or chin. Some customers weren't wearing one at all. read more

Surprised I haven't rated this place yet. I only go there ALL THE TIME! Love their selection of beers and how often they rotate. Wait staff is always courteous and accommodating. The bartenders are very friendly and fast. If you've never been here, it's like a BJ's but cooler. read more

Starting with the staff at the front that was more interested in chatting among themselves, rather than be bothered with taking our text number to get us in line for a table. Getting to the food, the most flavorless spicy pasta I've had. I grant I'm from the southeast US, but at least put some flavor in the food. Definite no return to this eatery. read more

Yesterday in the valley was hot...like being in an oven kind of hot...so we thought we'd make life a little easier and catch a movie. When we got to the theatre, we were a little late for one and a little early for another, so we decided to grab lunch first. From where we were standing, and frankly, willing to walk, we had a choice between Red Robin and Pete's. Neither of us had ever been to a "Pete's" so, we thought we'd give it a try. We were greeted kindly and seated promptly. That was nice. We ordered beer- they have a good selection on tap, including some of their own. That was nice too. We ordered lunch- me: fish n chips, him: Chinese Chicken Salad. We were happy with the choices available and our selections. Nice. Our server brought the food after a brief wait, and it looked pretty good. Still nice. We ate it- and it tasted...well, it tasted OK. Nothing special...nothing bad either, but just kind of middle of the road. So, here are my thoughts...I can't really see us going back, but then again, if we end up here, we'd be ok too. They had great service. I can see taking kids here- they'd be happy. So maybe, if that's what you're looking for, go here and have a nice time. read more

Pretty dismal pastrami sandwich. Maybe the beer is better than their food - however I don't drink alcohol. We ordered stuffed knots but received cheese only. We were done eating them by the time our server came back to check on us. Slow service. Won't be back. We did not contact the manager as there were only two waitresses on the floor and assumed if there was a manager in the building, they would be helping the short staff. Went there recently to celebrate my son's birthday. Went during the lunch hours. I ordered the fish and chips - not the best but was ok. Cole slaw was grossly tasteless. My son and daughter ordered the personal sized pizza (which is advertised at $14.49 for lunch price). My son ordered only pepperoni and was charged $15.99 plus $2.00 for the pepperoni. My daughter ordered hers BBQ chicken style and was charged $20.00. I ordered another one for my husband (to go) and I ordered 3 toppings - Pepperoni, sausage and BBQ chicken. I paid only $14.49 for this one. I didn't notice this grave error until after I had paid for my order and was half way home. But in my mind, I wondered why my order was well over $100. I first chalked it up to the alcohol beverages but there were only 2. The server who is also the bartender, did not take the initiative to acknowledge and correct the order to reflect the lunch prices for the 2 pizzas. Instead, she charged them as BYO pizza, which is pricey as you're charged per topping. My family and I will not be back there again. Had been going there for over 5 years. The quality of the food choices are hit and miss. They are over-priced on many things. Their pizzas aren't even BJ's quality although they try to mimic them. This is final straw that supports the confirmed reasons why. No one takes initiative to put the patron first anymore. They should go out of business. The hosts/hostesses look at you funny and if they're not at the front door when you enter, they're horseplaying and laughing with their coworkers and still take their time coming to the front to greet and seat. No customer service at all. Not the best experience with the ones who are the face of the first impression of the establishment. read more

I frequent Pete's in Manteca, the restaurant is generally clean and the beer is very cold. However, I find that cell phone reception is spotty in the bar area along with the Free WiFi - Each time I arrive I have to ask the bartender to ask the Manager to reset the modem. After that it comes and goes. It totally drops off. It's not reliable, it needs to improve. When I come I would like access to sports scores and news along with the ability to text - Not unreasonable to ask. I would frequent more often and stay longer if that was consistent. The food is good, although service from the kitchen is slow the food is good. If your in a rush, this is not your place. If your relaxing? This is it. I hope the WiFi improves soon...... read more

I went to pick it up the food was ready, the girl who helped me was sweet and I went on my way. When we opened our salads they looked gorgeous, pretty good size which helped to explained the price. But upon further inspection I found a mound of lettuce that had started to turn brown and the whole thing had a slightly sour taste - now one or 2 pieces I can forgive I suppose but for a $15 salad I'd rather not have to inspect every bite to make sure it won't be sour. This place is pretty shitty. My Dad recently became a quadriplegic. I know they don't take reservations but considering our situation one would think they'd make an exception. I wanted to have a birthday dinner with my family of 8. We have to call a van to pick up and drop off because we don't have a van for him yet. Time is of the essence. I'm calling on every single person that has a heart and is kind to boycott this place! I would have left the stars blank but this app doesn't allow all blank stars. Went here two days in a row for lunch. Very roomy and has a large bar. A-OK for both of us and wife and I said that we would come back and probably go to four stars. But for a first time it is three. Considering that it was summertime in the Valley, the super air conditioning is necessary and very welcome. There are numerous tables and booths and a large outside area that would be great once the sun is down. Service was excellent. Lupe J. and Christoper K. were accurate, described many offerings and answered our questions without selling. Orders were accurate and our requests for anything extra were readily accommodated. And they both checked in without being a bother. Pete's menu is outstanding. I cannot imagine anyone not finding SOMETHING that they would like to try. Like glorified or delux bar food, there are numerous sandwiches, salads, soups and pizzza. And then there were more dinner-like offerings like steaks, fish and pastas. On both days we had soups which were both good, but just now my mind is a blank as to what they were. Just the memory of flavor stays with me. And...they will do the pizza with thin crust! Bar was great to quench the heat out of our throats with margaritas. A full bar can get you beyond beer and margaritas, so fear not. Very convenient to the movie theater, Bass Pro Shop and the Hampton Inn where we stay. read more

I'm very hesitant about trying new places so when I got there I was kinda weary about the place. They said there was a 20 min wait even tho the place did not look busy especially for a week day. Every employee had masks on and it clearly states when u get to the hostess stand that masks are required which we were happy to oblige. I felt bad for the hostess because while we were waiting we seen a few ppl yelling at her complaining about wearing a mask just to be seated. She looked so scared. She even had to get the manager to tell them the rules. Ppl don't seem to understand that we are still in a pandemic. So we got seated and once we sat we seen that not all tables are open (due to covid & being understaffed). Our server came to greet us right away. She looked like a 12 year old little girl. She assured us she was not and had just graduated high school. Sophia was her name and she was the sweetest little thing ever. She brought our waters out right away and when we asked her about alcoholic drinks she recommended the blueberry mule and the cucumber jalepeno margarita and said those were the most popular. So that was what we got and both were very yummy. We ordered the garlic knots and the calamari which were amazing as well. While waiting for our main courses we witnessed a lot of rude customers treated the servers like crap. I couldn't understand why. I felt real bad for them because they all were busy running around like crazy. Then I seen the same hostess, clearing off the tables and bussing them herself. We ordered the salmon and ale house chicken it came out so good. Thank you Sophia for the recommendation. Next we decided to try another round of drinks. Our server brought us the drink menu. There is so much to choose from. So we placed our orders and the bartender brought em to us since our server was busy. We told her how much we loved our drinks. She refilled our waters for us as well. She asked us if we were saving room for desert and recommended the monster cookie. We told her that sounds AMAZING once she described it to us. So she went and told our server that is what we ordered. Once our server brought our desert to us, we had told her how amazing my drink was. She informed me that the bartender was actually her mom and that her mom had been bartender for long time. It's nice to see a mom/daughter team especially with them being so sweet to us. Usually servers are grouchy and bartenders are jerks. The bill was kind of pricey but honestly I don't mind paying more for great customer service and great food. Went here one time with a friend and she got the spicy pasta which she didn't like--it wasn't spicy enough. I got the linguini and it was amaaaazing for a place that isn't specifically a pasta place. Went here again for Father's Day. My grandpa got the pastrami sandwich that he said he enjoyed. My mom got the linguini that I recommended and I decided to try the ahi which wasn't very good. We called ahead to see if reservations were needed and were told walk in only. We came about 10 minutes later and was advised there was a 30-45 minute wait. After an hour we were finally seated and figured out the issue. The restaurant is severely understaffed, which is understandable in these times, the young man doing the seating was watching the game instead of helping, tables sat uncleared for well over an hour, the floor all over the building was sticky, and the food was subpar. Our server was awesome but he had a large section and no help, and the kitchen when I walked past looked disgusting. I feel badly for them, but it looks like they are in big trouble. We're from out of town and this is a tourist destination so just wanted to make sure out of towners like us are aware. read more

I was so excited when I saw this place had opened in Manteca as I LOVE the one in Sacramento and to have one so close to home made me very happy until... They just opened and I get that BUT that's no excuse for inattentive/odd/flippant service, burnt food, and an outrageous beer charge. Here's the story- we went Saturday 11/1/14 for an early dinner. Upon entering, the interior was nice and the hostess was friendly. I won't discuss our server b/c she wasn't job suited or trained properly and I doubt she'll be there in a month. I ordered a half order of knots- no butter (as I always order at the one in Sacramento and receive without a problem)... they came coated in butter- sent them back and the next ones now a full order for $6.99 were perfect and the Parmesan cheese was plenty- now, I'm happy. The diet coke $2.79 was flat so I asked for another- she said they were going to change their CO2- she brought me another and it wasn't much better. Here's what I really didn't like- when I asked for a refill, she took my old glass with straw and brought it back? Why not a new glass and straw?? My boyfriend was going to order a Lagunitas Lil Sumpin (it's his favorite) but she mentioned that they had Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Extra and that he should try that instead- he said okay and ordered a 12 oz. He ordered the Jalapeno burger cooked medium w/ french fries $11.99. He could barely cut through the hard/burnt bun which paired nicely with the burnt edges of the burger.... He tried to mention it to the server but she didn't return until she brought the bill and forget about trying to flag someone down so he shrugged it off and just gave up. I had the BBQ Chicken salad $10.99 no tortilla chips and asked for the ranch and bbq sauce on the side. The salad showed up with no cheese... huh? I asked for some blue cheese crumbles since I immediately noticed the error and the lady (not our server) brought some right away. The bill came and I always check it to make sure we were charged correctly. I saw that the 12 oz Lagunitas Lil Sumpin Extra was $13.50 -wtf? I immediately asked him how many he had? He said one and immediately flagged the server over. She knew as soon as she got to the table what the issue was and said that there was nothing she could do. WOW okay, so he asked why didn't you tell me the price? No prices are listed on the menu.... She said "I don't know but it is expensive and they tell us to try to get people to buy it" REALLY? Okay, get the manager.... he arrives full of excuses and a 'I guess I can fix it this time' What was the mark up? At least 100%. It was 12 freaking ounces!!! The bathroom had paper towels all over the floor and it was very smokey- they need to work on their ventilation. Docked 2 stars for the flippant attitude from the manager and a star for the overall food- covered in butter- gross and burnt burger/bun. They do have good ranch, bbq sauce, and unbuttered knots. I've been here twice now. Once when they first opened, and now since they've been open for nearly a year. On the first visit, I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and ordered some fried cheese sticks. The decor is cool, and the beer was cold. Unfortunately, the cheese sticks were also cold. Cheese should be melted on a cheese stick, not bone cold. Whatever, it's a new restaurant I'll try again later. Fast forward to today. Decor still nice. This restaurant does its best to pass itself off as upscale (aka bouji) for Manteca. Unfortunately, the service and food do not match the attempt at fine dining. I ordered a appetizer and a rib-eye dinner. The appetizer took 35 minutes to arrive (another slow kitchen problem). I informed the waitress that if the appetizer was going to take that long, just send it back since my dinner shouldn't be far behind. Her reply, "we're busy, and your steak will be about another 30 minutes". WTF?! She insisted I eat the appetizer, and sure enough my dinner arrived 5 minutes later. What was the point? To make matters worse, she kept pressuring me to give her a compliment as if she made things better. My medium-rare steak came out medium-well...whatever. For the sake of trying to have a nice dinner, I smiled and hoped I wouldn't be bothered. If waiters dressed in all black, nice decor, and dim lighting lighting are what your looking for, Pete's is your place! If service, great tasting food, and a good experience are what your after, theirs better places in town. read more

Not a big fan. Nothing was great. From the food, to the service, to the beer selection....You might even be more satisfied next door at Red Robin...or across the street at subway.... You walk in and it looks great! It looks like it stays busy with regulars, their beer selection looks large, the menu options look great, but it's all a façade! They have a large selection but of normal beers. 805, Stella, Modelo.... Their food is bland and the chicken in the pasta looks like the foster farms sliced chicken in the deli section. The cost is too high for the food you receive. The waitress was slow and un-attentative...I walked out feeling unsatisfied with the food and the experience. read more

Didn't care much for the staff. I think the hostess was trying but her personality was not made for the job. Waitress seemed like she just didn't care about anything period. Overall I would give the staff and ambience a 3 out of 5. Food: now in all honesty I would give the food a one. I didn't like one thing I ordered but I was sick so my taste buds might be off. Kids and date didn't seem to mind the food although they didn't think it was the best either. Part of the reason why I wanted to come here was because I had tasted their food at the book fair and I thought it was fairly good. Not today. Artichoke dip was over seasoned, way too salty and I just didn't get why they served it with bread. Bread knots: I had tasted this at the book fair and thought they were very good but today it was tasteless. I seriously mean TASTE LESS. No salt no garlic no nothing. Beer cheese dip: I don't even comprehend. No taste just cheese and water soup, disgusting. Combo pizza: the sauce tasted so freaking strange I just don't understand. I really kept hoping that something would redeem this visit but it progressively got worse. I can't say that I am coming back unfortunately, I really wanted to like this place.
