We have always enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The menu has a number of delicious meals to choose from. My husband and our children especially enjoy its pizzas & pepperoni garlic knots. I was at Pete's tonight with my date having a wonderful date night. The bartender was making great lemon drops! Food was great as well. Then this gentleman came in ride to the bartender from the minute he sat down. He asked for his spot to be cleaned even tho the rest of the bartop was empty and cleaned. The bartender said sure give me one sec as she was making drinks. So she cleaned it then the gentleman complained about his wine even after the bartender gave him a sample and he still ordered it. Then he started insulting the bartender even called her the b word for not knowing what kind of wine he likes. So we get ready to leave and his food comes out while he's talking to the manager complaining. Poor bartender is almost in tears. Then he tells her u don't even know how to make an Arnold Palmer (even tho he drank most of it) then when they bring his food to go he aks the manger why she went back there and that they probably did something to it. Worst bartender Tiffany ever! Got in right before last call and bartender was super rude about ordering our last round, slamming things around and talking loudly saying "didn't they understand it was last call" but yet still serving others at the bar. Went here this afternoon for what I thought would be my first great meal out since the quarantine. WRONG! The food was greasy, and not appetizing at all. My glass was dirty, and the ambience was not anything I want to experience again. The only saving grace for this visit was my server, Natalie, she was literally the sweetest person in the entire place. I am so disappointed with my experience. Been going to Pete's in Manteca for many years, always on a Friday so I can have a bowl of their clam Chowder. I lived in San Francisco for 7 years and outside of, say, Scoma's and few others, this is the best clam chowder I've had. We had 2 bowls on Friday Nov. 25th at 11:30am, along with a sandwich each. Have to say we were both shocked. The chowder was SO salty it was hard to eat. There is no way they were going to UN-salt a batch of soup so we decided to say nothing. The service was excellent, the sandwiches were good, but the chowder dragged the rating way down. Hopefully this was a 1 time event. Don't know how we'll figure it out. read more

Nice place inside, lots of beer on tap, service is friendly and fast. Food is average at best, I had shrimp and chips which lacked flavor. Kids had cheeseburgers which they said were ok. Wife had a seared tuna salad, seasoning on tuna was not good. If you're gonna eat here drink plenty of alcohol before eating because food tastes better when you're buzzed lol. Tonight was our second time at Pete's. We had lunch on our previous visit. We had the Hawaiian Luau pizza. The pizza has a thick and crunchy sourdough flavor. The sauce had a very strong flavor. I think it was rosemary that came through the most in this pizza sauce. It's a different flavor than our usual Round Table. I would definitely come again for it though. We also had the calamari appetizer. It only came with a zesty red dipping sauce, no lemon. We ordered this on our last visit also. My kids devoured it both times. They loved it. If it were my choice I would order a soup or salad instead. I had the steak last time. I would not order it again though. What brought us back was the Sautéed mushroom chicken. My husband loved that dish. Sadly, that dish was not on the dinner menu so we had to order another kind of chicken mushroom dish which didn't please my hubby's taste buds but I thought it was very delicious. We hope they put the lunch sautéed mushroom chicken on the dinner menu also soon. We all enjoyed the lovely atmosphere at the restaurant tonight. Lots of Bf/Gf and even families out this weekday. We were there to celebrate my daughters birthday. Our server, I think her name was Elaine, the bar tender with the New Zealand accent, was very lovely and attentive. She was such great waitress. Thanks for a very memorable time. Thanks to DJ for bringing such an awesome restaurant to our area. DJ my daughter says SSA, she loves Pete's. We'll be back again many more times. Honestly we love the food, our last server was excellent, but they're always super busy and short staff and they take forever to get you in, they don't do reservations so pretty much you have to wait wich it's kind of dumb that they don't if you ask me, we came in down for my anniversary early this year, call ahead of time to make sure they're operations hours, I know since pandemic lots of business closed early, but we called because Google said they closed at 10 but in they're website says 11 anyways we called and said they would closed at 10pm drive out there to see a sign on door that said "due to short staff we are closing at 9 today" it was a especial day of course I got upset because we planned ahead of time but I understand things happen so I let it go. We end up going next door to Tato's best drinks and service BTW sooooo Today the same thing happened AGAIN my husband call to make sure we wouldn't had that problem of last time and we fk did and the hostess at front had the audacity to say well the person on the phone should of told you we were closing early today. Not a I'm sorry let me see if I can do anything for you guys, what about take out or something!! We said well the door says closing at 9pm and it's 8:40 can we order at least something for to go?? and she says sorry kitchen it's CLOSED all ready. We found it inaceptable, and it's sucks because the food it's really good. Wish I could give a better star review because the service and drinks are both great. However, I can't give a review of the food because their only vegan is broccoli. I was told the pizza knots are vegan with customization, but after eating it several times was later confirmed there are eggs in the dough. Fries are beer battered, veggie burger has dairy in the patty and spaghetti noodles are also not vegan, so no meal for me sadly. read more

Traveling with my fur baby often makes it difficult to find a sit down and be served restaurant. So, finding that Pete's is dog friendly was the draw. I ordered the steak flatbread-it was delicious. Hubby had the barbecue chicken salad and barely came up for air, so I assume he enjoyed it. Our 2 legged son had the jalapeño burger with perfectly seasoned fries. He managed to u hinge his mouth wide enough to eat it and declared it to be Very Good! I wish they provided doggy water bowl and checked on us more often. Wow! Went to take my family for lunch just now. Entered through the back of the restaurant because we parked at the Super Charging Station. We proceeded to the lounge to sit at a table. The restaurant was maybe 25% full. Hostess came over and told us we couldn't sit there and needed to go to the hostess stand. We asked why we couldn't sit there? She smugly told us we needed to go to the hostess stand and then she would sit us back at that table. I laughed and said seriously? Walked out and took out business elsewhere. If the first person your customers meet, your hostess , treats you like you owe them a favor, why would you stay. I updated the review to a 3 stars because of the quick response from the business owner. We went here the day after Christmas for dinner. Got there about 5:30 and we were seated right away. The menu is pretty extensive, so there should be something for everyone in your party. We got two different pastas - bowtie gorgonzola chicken and tomato basil shrimp - both of which were excellent. Also a Southwest chicken wrap, which was great. They have 24 beers on tap, so you should be able to find something you like. They will give you tastes if you want to try it first. Service was pretty good. She checked back with us often and kept our water glasses filled. The only downfall was the parking, but I will write that off to Dec. 26th rush. read more

My girlfriend had been here a couple of times before and had usually enjoyed our meals. Up until today's visit we had only tried appetizers and or sandwiches. Today we decided to try the pizza. When it arrived to the table (all meat pizza) the cheese and toppings were all just barely above warm. Not hot as you would expect a fresh pizza out is the oven. No stretch to the cheese at all, the toppings were all room temperature at best. We each took one bite and decided to bring it to our servers attention. Credit to her she looked at our pizza and stated "that's odd because I saw them take it from the oven" implying it should be hotter. She did instantly offer to make us a new one, which is awesome and appreciated. Here's where I feel customer service went wrong from that point on. Our original pizza was just left at our table, we awkwardly sat staring at it for a good 15 minutes or so before she finally came and just took it away. Not once did a manager come over to apologize and check in on the new pizza, nothing was offered to compensate for the extra time we had to wait for the new pizza. The new pizza was definitely better but still not piping hot like most fresh pizza you would expect. We may come back someday but probably stick to appetizers and drinks if we do. So sad to leave this review because my fiancé and I got engaged at Pete's and had our first date there however we went in to eat today and were not greeted at all. There was only one person waited to be seated in front of us and the outside area was empty however we were told very rudely that there would be a 10 minute wait to be seated outside and not given any option of time if we wanted to sit inside. We put our names down and sat down after waiting for 10 minutes a group of four came in and were seated instantly with no explanation to us or even a hey your table is almost ready. This was my first time here. I was on the way to Bass Pro when we got the munchies. I knew if I went into Bass Pro hungry I would end up be hangry. Ordered the frowd artichokes. TBH they were ok. Not saying it was bad but the batter could have used a bit more seasoning. They were fried perfectly. The dipping sauce was a bit bland and a bit too runny for an aiola. I was expecting it to be a bit more thick. My wife and I ordered a large pizza and my daughter had a lasagna. I was able to split the pizza meat combo (pep,sausage,olives, mushrooms) and the other half was the garlic chicken and white sauce. A lot of places won't let you do that. That was a big plus. The pizza came hot and perfectly cooked. The crust was crunchy but not hard on the bottom. The slices didn't flop and let the topping fall off. The outside crust was thick but not chewy. Both sauces were great. The white sauce was very cheesy tasing like a good Alfredo sauce should be. They did for forget to add the olive for some reason or another. They did adjust the price for that. Now the lasagna was a bit more pleasant that I thought it would be. It was a pretty thick slice. There were 3 layers. Noddle, stuffing(sausage, spinach,ricotta) and then another noodle and then the two sauces. White and red. Both were pleasant. I only wished there was another layer of noodle in the middle. Just to balance the stuffing and noodles. I also ordered a glass of regular tea unsweetened. And man.. that teanwaw good. It was pretty dark so they must of uses a lot of tea bags or they brewed it properly. Great job Pete's. Will be coming back in the future. Pretty meh. I think this would be a decent place if you lived/worked in the area and wanted to grab a beer after work or to watch a game. They do have a solid setup with many TVs and 20+ beers on tap. The pizza is pretty average, though it is hard to totally screw up pizza. The kid's meal was a total ripoff. $7 for two chicken strips. Swapping the fries for fruit prompted $2 upcharge and it turned out to be about 1/2 cup of canned fruit cocktail. $9 for a pitiful amount of food. That, plus slow service added up to a subpar experience. We were hungry and tired, though, so paid our dues an got back on the road. read more

My family took me here yesterday for my Birthday. I had the SW chicken and all the veggies and mash potatoes were seasoned well and hot. But the chicken breast had the life cooked out of it. The outside was so dry I tried to peel the outside layer back and inside was so dry. We were there with my 2 grand babies, 2 and 4 and didn't say anything as I didn't want it to take any longer. Kids are good for so long LOL Someone should have seen how bad it was before serving. I knew it was off to a bad start when I walked in and watched the employees all talking to each other and finishing their conversation before coming to seat us. Food is decent, nothing special as were drinks but server sucked so bad..., her boyfriend was sitting at the bar in her area and she probably sat with him 85% of the time we were there, only leaving to check for food and deliver drinks and then going back to sit and talk with him. I'm sorry, but I've been in the industry and work for tips and this is not professional at all nor what I would want my customers to see at my place of business. My response for the food here is that it's not that great, but it's not that bad either. I've been here now about 5 or 6 times and have tried the spicy chicken fettuccine and the tomato's bisque soup which both tasted very bland and lacked any signature flavors along with the grilled cheese sandwich that was fine. On different occasions I've had the lasagna as well as multiple pizza's including the Pete's Italian garlic and Pete's combo. All three of them had cheese that tasted undercooked. The serving staff is always nice and courteous, but the wait times to order or get your drinks, appetizers and food are almost always longer than I've experienced at other restaurants. Overall nothing is outright bad, but it just isn't great either. read more
