Full disclosure I only ordered fries. This place is next to a 24 hour spot where the spouse likes to get their hair done. So, while waiting in the car on a cool drizzly Chicago night I got in a snacking mood. I am a bit of a French fry snob and decided to get some from this place. I admit I was tempted to try the fish sandwich that they are known for but held off. Despite being known for their fish sandwiches the menu is varied. Upon placing my order and it being about 30 minutes from closing the food was kept at a minimum. This was in my favor as all was being cooked as ordered and nothing just sitting under some heat lamps or refried. I was only parked around the corner and when I got back to the car, they were piping hot. You know one of those when you take a bite you got your mouth open because you are afraid to bite. I wish I had splashed some malt vinegar on them but a nice little snack to pass the time without being too much.

Ordered the #1 fishwhich and some wings to go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place wasn't very crowded and appeared very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It took about 15 minutes for them to complete the order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While we waited, we were able to sit in the small dining area and watch the news.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the curly fries, my favorite type of French fries. My sandwich was warm, very flavorful and fresh. The chicken wings must have been good. My partner didn't want to share but was smacking them down.

Dock's just ain't what it used to be. Me and my boy Richard F. used to slam Fishwiches from the location on 87th. Over time we went less and less. That location has the worst customer service and it takes FOREVER to fulfil orders. I was pleasantly surprised to see this new location. For +20 years I believe there was only one Dock's. I ordered delivery. They started off all wrong by forgetting my Dockberry shake. If you're a true Southsider, (not one of these Johnny come latelies that think it's a hip new trend to live South of Bridgeport) you'll understand this is unforgivable. I'll cast that egregious mistake aside because it could've been the drivers fault. Overall still 3 star worthy. Not delicious. Not bad. Dock's will forever be a legend, unfortunately their hayday is no more. Pro Tip: Skip the fries.

This place was not it other than the great art work. This place was not anything I would go back to. The food was just blah. I ordered the fish sandwich they said they were famous for. It was just okay. No seasoning really. The fries were not hot and had no salt at all. Nothing special about it. I got extra tartar sauce only to learn it was packages. We were a group of 7 who wanted to eat in the restaurant. There were not enough seats at all. The tables were all wobbly. There's not restroom for customers. I repeat, you cannot even wash your hands because there's not a restroom at all. I had to go next door to the hair salon and they so graciously allowed me to use their facilities. A friend got the banana pudding. Well, it tasted like lemon Oreo cookies. Nothing like banana pudding. The tea was good. I think that may be the only reason people still go to this place. For Chicago to be this food Mecca, we southerners were not impressed at all.

DELICIOUS!!! My 1st time eating Docks and everything was on point, so much flavor. Our fishwich was crispy and hot, the bread was soft and the fries were hot and crispy as well. So glad we stopped in on our way home.

First visit at this location. My usual Docks is of course 87th Dan Ryan. OK, so this location is very nice. Great design, nice seating, Great Wall pictures. The food comes out fast compared to 87th BUT the taste is not there yet. My food was just ok. It wasn't hot. It's as if they've cooked the food ahead of time; which is why I'm guessing they have a quicker turnaround. I ordered 3 fishwich and the lettuce was "dead" totally brown. REALLY!!! I'll give this location a little more time to get the taste right. Until then I'll go to Docks on 87th. Place my order go shopping. Take a nap then go back in and wait 30 more minutes.

Service was great. Got sick shortly after eating half of a sandwich. The fish seemed fresh. Had to be the grease that it was cooked in.

The fries were cold, shrimps were not fresh. Slow service. Considering this is one of a few Dock's in the city, I expected more.

I actually love coming to eat early because the servers are a little more attentive since they just started their shift and the service is a little faster as there are less tables. Let me tell you, though, whatever we came it was quite busy with graduations and family dinners-which I didn't mind at all! What ate a relatively large meal as I had eaten a smaller lunch. We started off with the wedge salad and a yellowtail sushi roll. The wedge salad was pretty average, but the dressing was really delicious. The yellowtail was also pretty good and the jalapeño topping gave an extra kick last minute. For the entrées, we ordered the scallops as well as the pan seared Chilean Seabass. The scallops are buttery, rich, and had a perfect crispy crust. The Seabass was flaky and light-overall a very good combination of flavors. We got a side of the broccolini and then the crème brûlée and a piece of Keylime pie to go. Overall a very filling and delicious meal-I was pleasantly surprised with the scallops and how light the sea bass was.

Every single dish was exceptional. We started with the clam chowder and lobster bisque, and both were unbelievably rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the crab cake was loaded with crab and perfectly crisp, and the sushi was beautifully prepared and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The lobster roll was overflowing with sweet, tender lobster on a buttery toasted roll, and every bite was perfection. There wasn't a single item that missed the mark. The service made the experience even better. Terry was absolutely phenomenal--friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had an amazing meal. He offered fantastic recommendations, checked on us at just the right times, and made our last day in Chicago feel truly special. Outstanding service like his is hard to find. The beautiful riverfront view was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal. If you're looking for seafood in Chicago, stop searching and go to Legal Sea Foods. We left talking about how this was the best meal of our entire trip, and we'll absolutely make it our first stop the next time we're in town. Thank you, Terry, and the entire team, for giving us the perfect ending to an incredible Chicago vacation!

The stir fried garlic string beans were good, but nothing special. My favorite was the duck dish - the plum sauce gave it a nice sweet flavor profile. They played a birthday song over the speakers and let us bring a cake to the restaurant. Service wise, would give this place a 10/10. The food was really unique and special, you don't see a lot of these dishes at Chinese restaurants. The menu had many many different options to choose from. We shared the twin lobster sticky rice (came with 2 lobsters for $88), the salted yolk pumpkin, and the pork belly chicken soup. The soup was good but the white pepper taste was a bit too strong. The other dishes were on the heavier, oily side but they were really delicious. There were generous portions of lobster. They served a really nice, fragrant jasmine tea with dinner which they kept refilled and pipping hot. Bathroom was clean and the restaurant has a beautiful design inside that's nice for parties of 4 or larger groups for family style dining. There's plenty of paid street parking options, around $5 for 2 hours. I would recommend giving it a try!
