This place has a long wait during busy times, but there is a reason for it. Food was great (Ahi tacos and catch of the day). Music was a little load, but staff are friendly and the drinks are cold. We put our name on the list and then went down to Th Waterline underneath the restaurant for drinks. Kids enjoyed the freedom and games they could play to keep them busy. The hour wait went by pretty quick. Not many places on the Island where you can enjoy fresh food with great views. read more

I don't think I've ever realized the value of a waiter/waitress asking if it's my first time at their restaurant, until my experience with Doc's. Our waiter was very impersonal and did not refill our water at all. The burger, my husband ordered, was dry and had tomatoes on it even though he had requested no tomatoes. My side salad was sub-par, at best. The croutons were stale and soggy and the greens were not so green. I ordered the crab-stuffed flounder which wasn't that great due to the many crab shell pieces I kept having to crunch through. I was hoping for a much better experience including sticking around for dessert and the infamous sunset view... it just wasn't worth it! read more

This place is excellent the waiter Sean did an awesome job, the food was very delicious, for appetizer we had the raw oysters , I had the mahi special and my husband had the redfish special both tasted delicious and both meals are $25.00 each and for drinks I had the mango sunset but it was a little too sweet for me so I decided to order a margarita on the rocks my husband had a lone star beer. A last minute day trip to the beach with dinner after. All my daughter could talk about was Docs so before school starts Monday we came down and after spending the day at the beach we came to Docs. We arrived around 7 pm (a Friday night ) no planning so we expected a wait. We had drinks (lemonades for the kids) and watched boats come in an hour passed fast. We had an amazing meal of bacon wrapped shrimp , stuffed flounder and chicken fried chicken for our land lover. Our waitress Annie was polite, helpful and fun. We were worried about coming down and visiting with the COVID-19 but people wore masks social distanced and cleaned. We will be back. read more

We are snowbirds and have tried several seafood places in different areas. My husband is a seafood connoisseur, and he said he had never had fresher, nor better seafood than this. Some people mentioned it was pricey, but the portion sizes were huge, and you could make another meal of it the next day. There's alot of "buzz" in Corpus Christi amongst the locals about Doc's, so I was excited & full of anticipation at an invitation to eat there with friends... I left very ... well, flat feeling. I ordered Crab Stuffed Portabello Mushroom with a choice of veggies: asparagus or green beans or.... well, I LOVE asparagus, so I was elated to order that -- and they were out! Seriously? How does that happen on a weekday night? So I was stuck with green beans my chickens later wouldn't even eat. The mushroom dish was "okay" but not worth the price of admission. The new potatoes were yummy, but that's about it. I left the restaurant feeling ...wanting...disappointing because Doc's charges double digit prices on most dishes. Appetizer (which I can't remember now) was completely tasteless... pretty sure there should've been SOME flavor. So yeah -- bland all around! The sauce AND the mushroom bit were well.... bland. Looked gorgeous but didn't deliver anything spectacular. I might give it another try, but I won't be running to do so. So now the second "seafood" place found wanting in Corpus Christi --- this one, Pier 99, and Saltwater -- avoid those and maybe ya'll have a chance ... read more

Yummy food and awesome views. It was the perfect cap to our weekend trip. The price seems slightly high for a pretty casual place but it's worth it for the view. One small suggestion is to offer some type of bread as an appetizer or side. I would have loved some buttered French toast or something with my seafood. read more

The view is gorgeous. Like the sign says, sunsets are free. Not the best reception from the hostess. Three at the desk. Said the outside seating was full. But almost half the seats where empty. They where going to seat us at a bad table, and I said I would wait for the outdoor table. Went to bar and and got a round of drinks for everone for the wait. Before I could take a sip of my beer, our table was ready. Don't understand why they did not seat us outside to begin with. My feeling is if your ok with a bad view they try to save the others. What a great place to enjoy delicious food while taking in the relaxing water views! We knew we were headed to the right place when the locals recommended Doc's - they were spot-on. Our family of 6 had dinner here after a day at the beach. While I was happy with my meal (bacon wrapped shrimp), and one of my sons was with his, somewhat, (seafood sampler - except that the fish filet was very bland), the rest were very disappointed. The flounder my husband ordered was very fishy tasting and bland, my two other kids ordered the fiesta burger and it came with plain white bread, not even toasted, which made for a soggy burger. My daughter ordered the tuna tacos and she might as well have been eating cardboard, she ordered it blackened and it was not at all blackened. No flavor whatsoever. We spent almost a weeks worth of grocery money for a meal that was not at all worth it. Not that we can't afford it, but wanted and expected more for that kind of money. I liked the sharks and the boats beauty sunset It was a hour wait. So 5 minus 4 equals 1 but the waiter Bryan and the food made it 2 plus 1. So four stars in total but there was cornholl you have to request it from the bar though. Save your money. Go somewhere else! It is a great pity. You could not find a better place to put a seafood restaurant but a restaurant without a kitchen is not a restaurant. If you want shrimp go to HEB. They will steam you some and they will much better than what you get here. I ordered 1/2 pound of cold boiled shrimp. Did not get a 1/2 pound. 3 of the shrimp were rotten. The salad was warm lettuce on a warm plate. How hard to chill a plate and keep lettuce cool? Don't know why this place is so popular. We checked in & the hostess told us that we would have a 45 minute wait, after 1 1/2 hour we finally got a table. The place was so noisy we couldn't even hold a conversation with the rest of the people in our group. We ordered the chicken fried chicken & the breading was over salty. The atmosphere was loud like a bar, but there were people of all ages! The trick is get there early if you can. Go around 5 or earlier if you don't like waiting. The food was piping hot, it was tasty and the service was good. The manager came by several times to check on us also! My wife had the burger and it was average. I had a pound of a peel and eat shrimp. None of the shrimp were cleaned. The waiter told me the margarita was $6.99. Totally awesome experience! Enjoyed the sunset, live music, service and cool breeze. Open patio dining at its best! We enjoyed the blackened ahi Tuna and the marinated blackened chicken. After a long day at the beach , so happy to have found this place. It was packed looked like it was going to be a long wait but had my husband check before getting out of the car with my three kids. He came back said about 20 minutes by the time we unlaoded it was time to be seated. The waitress we had was AWESOME (don't remember her name but she was slim, tall ,brunette ,had tattoos ), she was quick to take our drink orders. Gave us time to decide on what to eat. The food came out quickly, one of the reasons we decided to come were for raw oysters. They were large and delicious ! The clam chowder was amazing. The flounder sauteed with a lemon butter sauce very tasty. (You can have plates split between two)They have a live band which played pretty good music another plus is a nice view to watch the sunset ! We are a small family of three but our son has special needs and our waitress, Riley picked up on our needs immediately and catered to our needs to order his meal quickly. Our drinks were delivered quickly and were well prepared. Both of our shrimp dinners were prepared correctly and presented well. We never waited for anything. She was on top of everything.
