It's taken me a couple of tries to be able to partake in the deliciousness that is Dog Haus. First few times I came at lunch the wait was just too long and the funny thing is schools get mad when you don't show up to pick your kids up on time so I always had to leave without trying the food. That's the first thing you should know: they are really really busy at lunch. Always. We went on a Sunday at 1:30 and almost every table was full (albeit finishing their meals) and towards the end of our meal the line was backed up to the door. I've heard that dinner is a much better option as far as lines and wait times. The Dog Haus is located conveniently on State St in a small shopping complex. There's limited parking out front but I'm pretty sure there's more around the back. The inside is on the smaller side. It's what I think of as high-end fast food. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to your table. I'm not going to lie, it took longer than I expected to get our food considering almost everyone else had their food. No loss of stars here, just a fair warning that you should plan accordingly. I'd much rather wait a few extra minutes for fresh hot food than get in and out with cold/stale food. Speaking of food it was soooooo good. You have the option of dogs (all beef skinless), sausages (brauts, cheese stuffed, kielbasa, and more!) and burgers. You can also get those miniaturized as sliders. In additional to that you have all sorts of toppings and pre-designed options. There's also a veggie dog if you hate yourself (jk). I got the Cowboy which was a dog with smoked bacon, white american cheese, crispy onions and bbq sauce. I was hoping for homemade onion straws but it was more like that stuff that gets put on top of green bean casseroles at thanksgiving. It was still awesome. All their proteins come on a King's Hawaiian Roll which is freaking genius! In addition to the dog I got chili cheese fries which were super good, they had both shredded cheese AND cheese sauce. TWO kinds of cheese!!! Their chili has a nice rich flavor and was packed full of meat. My oldest got the kid's meal which came with two sliders (or in her case two plain burgers), fries and a drink. the burger had a nice char and flavor to it. I can only imagine how good it would be with additional toppings. JeremyF got the Das Brat which looks awesome but I have a deep distrust of mustard so I wasn't able to bring myself to try it. I cannot wait to go back and try more goodness. The Pig and The Fig (cheese-stuffed sausage, fig-onion relish, wild arugula, sliced almonds, sans mustard) or the Grand Slam which has bacon, a fried egg and tots! Their shakes also looked amazing. I'm getting fat just typing up this review!! A few housekeeping items. They have an ok number of tables given this size of the restaurant and people seem to cycle through quickly. The bathrooms were very clean. And while I appreciate places being environmentally friendly and not having paper towels when I'm eating with my hands I'd rather not have to thought the door handle to the bathroom. They also serve coke products which would earn them an extra star if there were any more to give. Overall I loved this place and I cannot wait to go back and eat more. read more

Good and creative sausages and dogs. I haven't tried the burgers that are also on the menu but they look good too. The cheese fries are pretty bomb here, too. This place was unique and do hotdogs quite well. They have the best tater tots I've had in a long time- totally delicious. Our dog was a bit greasier than we would have preferred and my corn dog had a bit of an odd taste to it for some reason but overall this place is trying to revolutionize the hot dog joint and there's a lot of different options to try. The only thing I would change is perhaps the oil they cook with? Not sure what it was but it seemed like it was the oil- just a little too greasy. Okay... where do I begin? I've been rollin' on the hamburger train at this place and I would have to say my world has been rocked. I picked up the hamburger and couldn't set it down. Part of that was that the juicy heaven in between those sweet, sweet buns, was running down my arms. I wasn't even mad. It added to the whole experience. I turned a new leaf because of this place. Can's stand the smell. It's one of those smells, like a musky old mop, or funky warehouse conversion, and the seats/floors are sometimes sticky. Not kidding, one time i sat down and couldn't see that there was something clear and sticky where i sat down, like something wasn't cleaned up all the way right. On to the food. We've LOVED every burger and hot dog combination we've tried so far. The hangover burger is especially ridiculous and tasty. Needs salt added, but otherwise amazing. Great burgers. Other than 5 guys this could be my fav. Hot dog was really good but had too much sauce on it. The bacon is thick juicy real bacon, way better than you normally get at any sandwich or burger spot. There was so much sauce on the hot dog however, I could barely taste it. Me and my girlfriend got an order of Das Brat & Soo Cali. We got a free slider for upgrading into their sausages instead of dogs. We also got a free shake for posting our picture on facebook. I got the white chocolate shake out of all choices. The polish sausage I got was a bit too salty for me but the toppings of the Soo Cali were really good. The bratwurst sausage that my girlfriend got was juicy and wasn't too salty with a lot of herbs. Their sliders look just like the sliders from white castle in my opinion. I've had sliders from White Castle before but the ones here taste so much better. They came with carnelized onions, white American cheese, and mayo which made them really creamy. I had to choose between the white chocolate and salted caramel shake because they both sounded good to me. I finally decided on the white chocolate shake and I didn't regret my decision. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy, they made it just right. It was probably one of the best chocolate shakes I've had even though I don't encounter them often. I definitely would come back here but not too often because the food were a bit too heavy. First time at the Dog Haus. Kids meal is good. Choice of 2 sliders, hamburgers, dogs or corndogs. Kids can mix them up if they want. Hotdogs are very flavorful. Brats are good, but the standard toppings hide the quality of the brat. Next time, I would skip the cheese, as it was overpowering and made everything taste rather bland. While the food is always delicious, I've always felt like it was very spendy. On this occasion we used the wasatch savings card for BOGO entree, side and a drink. I subbed in the impossible burger patty for my burger. Our total seemed expensive, and when we asked the cashier after swiping our card but before getting the receipt, she realized the system took off 2 drinks rather than a drink and a side. She offered to give us back the $.70 in change, which we declined. No biggie. We sat down and I inspected the receipt, realizing that they charged us $5 to sub in the impossible patty. This seems VERY steep, especially since you can order a basic impossible burger off the menu for $7.99. I was kind of bugged, but figured it was my bad for not asking before making the swap. I then checked the price on yelp to order the exact same thing via the build your own burger option, which came out to $12.34 ($1.35 cheaper than what I was charged). Not cool guys. I had a really great experience visiting this restaurant. From the decor to the awesome menu, I will be happy to revisit Dog Haus often. I ordered their Pig Lobowski sausage; which is polish kielbasa, fries, slaw and BBQ sauce. It's not as interesting sounding as a lot of other options, but I was glad it was my first taste. The Kielbasa had great flavors and a wonderful crunchy bite. The bun and toppings complemented the sausage and the quantity left me full. My wife got the Bad Mutha Clucka, which was an awesome chicken sandwich. Again, it was huge and my wife had a good amount to take home. My kids enjoyed the slider kids meal. I rarely write reviews, so when I do, you better listen. I travel a lot for work and do consider myself a picky foodie and a stickler for quality. I just ate the most delicious Burger of my life...yeah I said it. I ordered the Freiburger with the Garlic Aioli and a side of sweet potato fries. Let's start with the burger, it's large enough to feed a herd of lions, all the ingredients came together in perfect harmony from the slaw to the egg to the Hawaiian bun. It's messy, yes, but as we have heard many times- if it doesn't get all over the place it doesn't belong in your face! The Sweet potato fries were also probably the best I've ever had (I eat them a lot, surprised I'm not orange), perfect crispness and almost doughy in the middle, paired perfectly with their house fry sauce.
