Went with a large group of friends (11 adults/3 kids under 4) on a late June Saturday mid afternoon for some drinks and apps. Midday is a good time to go if you are going with a big group since they don't take ressies. Our server was tremendous, taking care of a large, beer thirsty party can be challenging but she was superb! My wife and I shared the Fried Pickle appetizer, Spiced Buttermilk Calamari, and the Leafy Greens Pub Salad. All three did NOT disappoint, especially the calamari, which was LOADED with hot banana peppers (a personal fav). If you're a Dogfish Fan you'll see all the brews you know and love (90 Minute IPA) and some more adventurous concoctions like the Choc Lobster (6.9% abc). We came here on a Friday night and were seated right away in the upstairs area. Our server was beyond friendly and personable and he helped us with recommendations for our meal. My boyfriend got the flip beer and really liked it, I got the hot apple cider, and if I didn't read the description and knew there was alcohol in it, I would never have known as you can't even taste it, I thoroughly enjoyed it! We each ordered a small salad, which were larger than we thought. Our entree was the simple enquiry pizza, which was a white pizza with homemade mozzarella, poached tomatoes, parmesan, garlic oil, and basil -it was cooked to perfection. The crust was perfectly crunchy, but not overcooked at all. Without a salad, the pizza would probably be good for a personal pizza, but having a salad, it was the perfect size to share. If you want Burgers and beer then this is the place for you! Burgers were tasty and they give you a choice of beef, turkey and vegan. Beware vegetarians that you can order a veggie option but they might still put on the "bacon jam", which happened to my friend so she had a little bit of a wait. We went around 8pm and got seated right away but the wait for food was pretty long. Also a band came on to play at 10pm which got pretty noisy. Not sure why the bar and the stage is so far apart and the dining tables are in the middle! Should be nice when the beer garden opens up and makes it a little less loud. read more

In the few years we've been vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, this place has always attracted a large crowd, us among them. This year we realized our folly. Dogfish is a tourist trap. It has a few interesting beer choices, but it doesn't make up for the indifferent hostesses and mediocre food. We had a couple of good experiences here. First, we were there for a group event which was held upstairs. There was buffet-style serving of appetizers and later a meat and veggie dish. Everything was tasty. The service during this event was awesome - the servers were super friendly and helpful, constantly checking if we needed more drinks or our plates cleared, and did not seem bothered at all by my one-year-old running around and sometimes getting in their way. One guy, who was probably a manager, took a lot of time talking to a few of us about the beers and bringing us multiple samples - you can tell they are very passionate about their brews, and it shows, everything definitely tasted better there from the tap than the bottles we've bought. If you are looking for a place to host an event, especially if there are beer lovers involved, I highly recommend it although as a guest I can't speak to their pricing, coordinator, etc. Later in the week, we went back for an early dinner/snack with the baby. He had the peanut butter and honey pizza, which he of course thoroughly enjoyed and made a huge mess out of. I appreciated that the crust was whole wheat and the PB seemed to be real PB and not sugar-laden cheapo spread. We also had the Dog Pile appetizer, pita wedges with artichoke dip and mozzarella. Yum! They lose a star because the waitress was not very good on that day and the service was pretty slow. Waiting around for each step of the meal while keeping a one year old entertained is not our favorite thing to do in restaurants. Plus she did not bring us the ice cream that I thought came with the kids meal. (Mommy and Daddy wanted their sweet treat!) Our experience was disappointing. My blueberry lemonade cocktail was poorly made and tasted terrible. I don't often send things back, but I did send the drink back. I ordered the mac and cheese. It seemed as though it had been sitting somewhere for quite a while. Some of the pasta was overcooked and some of it was appropriately cooked (in the same dish? what does that tell you?). The cheese was congealed on some of the pasta, but oily and separated on other parts of the dish. Finally, I saw the strangest thing while we were eating. I saw a server deliver lettuce and tomato to a table using nothing but her (gloved) hand. She carried it not on a plate, but in her hand. WEIRD. We're finished with Dogfish Head. read more

What can i say that hasn't been said already ? The parking situation sucks during peak season, the hostesses need to take up meditation or something to get off their cardboard faces and crack a smile once in a while. That apart Dogfish head brew and eat is a choice that you cannot go wrong with. And with the atlantic ocean 3 blocks down the street, Dogfish head has probably turned out to be the second most popular element of Rehoboth Beach,DE. Food : We tried the 'Dogpile', a veggie burger and a chicken breast burger. The dogpile is basically an oven baked pita plate with tons of cheese, artichoke and spinach spread and tomatoes. For $12, the quantity was sufficient to feed an army ! Crispy pita, flavorful artichoke spread and loads of melted cheese ! It was delicious even when microwaved the next day. The veggie burgers were as big as a labrador's head ! Usually, ordering a veggie burger means being served with a dry, weeks old frozen soy patty with no taste. But not here ! Dogfish head loves vegetarians ! The burger was juicy ( i finally know what my meat-eating friends mean when they describe a sandwich as "juicy!"), mild herbs and spices, soft and tender. The buns were moist,and the cheese top shelf ! Spouse got a chicken burger and was equally pleased with her breaded chicken breast with herbs. I tried a pint of 'My antonia' - a continuously hopped pilsner. Apart from the hoppy,floral and sweet honey smell, the taste was nothing to write home about. And probably the only down side about the entire dining experience, and ofcourse the rude hostess. **Serious TIP** : When i walked out of the restaurant, i found out that someone had hit the rear end of my parked car and had ran away. Upon inquiring with the meter-man, i found out there are atleast 2-3 such incidents every day on Rehoboth avenue alone during summer. And in almost all cases it is a hit-and-run. So now i am left with a damaged car which will cost me significant $$ to repair and higher premiums for no fault of mine. So if you are visiting Rehoboth Beach during summer, try and avoid the main avenue unless you want some jerk who cannot parallel park hit your car and run without leaving any details. There are ample parking available on cross roads, and $30 private parking for a full day. $30 seems a much better deal than getting your car wrecked ! read more

It really hurts me to only give Dogfish two stars. The more I come here, the more disappointed I become. I have been eating here for over 7 years, and every time it gets a little worse. It used to be my go to place in Rehoboth, but this is no longer the case. The food quality is getting bad, and the workers are becoming rude. We arrived and were told that our party of 5 would have at least a half hour wait, which we would have minded except there were plenty of tables available. When we asked, we were told that they save those tables because they could sit 8 people. I guess they were waiting for 24 people to possibly show up to eat. Not off to the right foot. We decided to eat outside so we wouldn't have to wait. Normally we would head to the bar, but we were hungry and had a child with us. It took forever for a waitress to take our drink orders, and she seemed very miserable. Fast forward to getting our food. They brought us our appetizer which we were all sharing. Had to find someone to give us some small plates (we haven't seen our waitress since our order was taken, cook staff delivered food). Appetizer was fine (hummus) and soon after we finished, we got our meal. I ordered the portabello sandwich, which used to be my favorite thing on the menu. Guess I should have read the menu more carefully because the only thing similar to what it was and what it is now was the mushroom. So disappointed. As for our waitress, we saw her a few minutes after our meals were served and when she brought us our check. No one ever removed our empty appetizer platter or plates. There was a guy working who I assume was a manager of some type outside who was friendly and seemed to try to get things in order outside. It seems that they have taken some things off the menu (the tuna sandwich being one notable option) and have downgraded the quality of what they are serving. The only reason to go here is for the wide selection of Dogfish Head brews and liquors. The eats are generally not very good. The menu sounds exciting and tasty, but you'll probably be disappointed. Prices aren't horrible, but the wait for a table, even during the week, makes this place pretty easy to skip. The calamari was way too tough. I've never experienced anything like it. The spinach artichoke dip was pretty good. Kind of like nachos but with pita chips. The short ribs had way too much cilantro. It was a shame because the meat was well cooked. The rockfish was completely overcooked. It was the only dish that was not edible. The bacon chocolate cheesecake was okay. The bacon should have been crispy, and there should have been less of it. There's something very unsettling about chewy stringy bacon in your cheesecake. The service was good. Probably saved the meal for us. I almost feel bad about this review, since they were so courteous. When we complained about the rockfish they gave us a crab cake instead. I didn't try it but was told that it was decent. I know this is a favorite of many people, but honestly I don't plan to eat here again. I could go here for a happy hour though. read more

Stopped in here for the first time in a while to meet some friends. We had 2 orange crushes and 2 bloody Mary's at 9.00 a pop. Seems a little high but they are always packed so I guess they can get away with it if people will pay it. This was probably the 2nd time ever we were able to get a seat at the bar-3 in a row. Also had the fried pickles. They were outstanding. The firmness of the pickle and flavor were both really good along with the breading and mustard dipping sauce. Never a disappointment when I go here. From a quick snack and afternoon beer to a full lunch/dinner... The atmosphere is lively and casual, the food is always good to excellent, the beer is cold and terrific, staff is knowledgeable of their menu and offerings, and staff is always prompt and courteous. Located on Rehoboth Ave more towards the traffic circle than the beach, they have an always full private parking lot and multiple seating areas (main dining room, outside patio, party room upstairs). The menu is simple and one page...offering apps, salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, and entrees. I really haven't had a bad meal here. One of my favorite snacks is the pickles/olives/cheese plate with a cold 90 min IPA. The pickles are spicy and made in house, if I remember right the olives are made there too, and a chef's cheese selection. I highly recommend any of their sandwiches or their steak. I have yet to try a flatbread, but I will soon. Being associated with the world known Dogfish Head craft brewery, they have a huge selection of their beers on a massive chalk board above the bar. It's almost overwhelming...but they will offer you a taste if you are unsure if you'll like something. In fact, I could write a review on the beer alone. But that's another site..haha. Been coming to the brewpub for years and finally got to experience the new place/new menu. I'll sum it up by saying that the old menu was better than the new menu (P.s. don't order the fish tacos.) The one thing that has remained a constant A+ is the beer. Still a good experience but I once had a friend cry when she had a bite of the pub burger because it was so delicious. This place is right in my wheelhouse. I am a big beer fan, and Dogfish Head brews great beer. I will openly admit that some of their one-off beers miss sometimes, but more likely than not, you're in for a treat if you like great beer and great grub. There are usually about 20 beers on tap at all times. On my most recent trip, there were 23, and the large majority of them incredible. I recommend getting a flight of the brew pub exclusive beers to start, and see if there are any that ring the bell. If not, there are several standards that I usually choose based on what type of food I'm going to get. Sixty-one, 90 Minute, Namaste, or my all-time favorite 75 Minute on cask. I always make sure to bring a growler, as the fills are super reasonable, and who wouldn't want to take some world class beer back to the house. The offer a great Homebrewer's discount if you're an AHA member. The discount is good on merch as well. The food is pretty exceptional as well. I don't think I've ever eaten here without getting the Dogpile appetizer. Although it is poorly named, it's Pita Spin Dip Nachos, and everything about them is good. The salads are great, especially the Caesar, the Salmon Sandwich is always good, the fries although sometimes not crispy are solid, and the pizzas are really great. Even the Burgers are pretty spectacular. I usually check out the specials as well, because I've had some amazing sandwiches and soups that are not on the everyday mend (Bahn Mi Sandwich, Black and Bleu Soup.) I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the staff is awesome. It's always packed, and they do a great job of coming back to your table to make sure you have everything that you need, or get you more beer. They are always friendly and very helpful if you're looking for a recommendation. If you go during regular hours, the wait can be long (sometimes over an hour,) but there is usually enough room to get a beer and enjoy the weather or a nice walk up and down Rehoboth Ave. Parking can be difficult later in the evening as well. They have a small lot, but it is usually full. I've generally been able to find a spot on the street within a block or so. Remember to bring quarters. read more

This is a fun establishment. The food was delicious. I had a burger. It was huge and the sweet potato fries were great. Hubby had a beef wreck that he enjoyed and he is a picky eater. Friends had chicken tacos and the chili dog. Which were also huge The beer I tried was the Pennsylvania Tuxedo. Very good. Not bitter like a lot of IPA s. Only problem was the waitress. I can't believe that it took me this long to write a review for Dogfish Head! Even though I live on Long Island, I come to Dogfish at least once a month (this month I've been here 3 times already)! Why do I make the 4+ hour drive to come here multiple times a month? The beer sillies! I love Dogfish head beer, thankfully we still get it in NY, but the brewpub exclusives make the drive worthwhile. And Randall Fridays?!?! Can we get any better than WW Stout and coffee beans through the Randall? Probably not. Anyway, aside from the beer which is A-mazing, there's the food. I'm not going to lie, some of it can be hit or miss. The BF got violently ill from the scrapple during one of the brunches we went to. Also, there really isn't too much change in the menu. They do have specials that change (this last time around I got venison sliders which were really good) and everything is locally farmed and whatnot. Bottom line, if you love beer than you already know about Dogfish Head so checking it out would not be a disappointment. If your not into beer, come anyway. The food's really good and they also have their own distillery where they make flavored vodkas, rums and gin. Get a Chicory Stout with a shot of their Peanut Butter Vodka in it. Or a root beer with a shot of the Vanilla Vodka. Or, just sample all the flavors and buy a couple of bottles to take home with you! read more

Great selection of Dogfish Beers including ones you can't get outside of the brewpub...the food was excellent. We ate there twice that weekend. First, my burger that I ordered medium came out medium...something that almost never happens in restaurants. The second was a steak that was cooked perfectly as well.
