Rhinestone Cowboy burger
Ned P.

We were here for an early lunch on a May Monday. Nice casual interior decor. Dogfish Head consistently delivers good beer. The food and service were just okay. I had the Rhinestone Cowboy burger, which was seasoned well and medium rare, but it was dry, especially around the edges. The bbq sauce was delicious. The fries were ok but not crispy. The other one had Korean tacos, which were also just okay. We tried the Coconut Etiquette beer, which as very refreshing and not as fruity as expected, which is a good thing; very subtle coconut notes. Wouldn't go back.

Shakespeare in Harlem pizza

We had a very good dinner and solid beers at Dogfish Head. I had the Shakespeare in Harlem pizza. It was good but a bit heavy on the oil. With that said, it still was very tasty. I had a flight of beers. The Aprihop was my favorite, but all were really good. Seaquench, Blue Hen, and Protect Your Neck filled out the rest of the flight. Everyone was satisfied with their meals, and this place has a great vibe. Our server was very good. I think I'd like to come back when there's a live band. Try it out. You won't be disappointed.

Beet salad and the Reuben

A lively vibe greeted us when we came by for an early Saturday night dinner! We had a super server, Sean, who made spot on recommendations! We started with a few samplings from the taps. Then, we narrowed down our dinner choices and decided to split a salad and a sandwich. When they arrived promptly, we were thrilled to have our beet salad and Reuben split evenly and plated separately! Well done, Sean and kitchen!! Both were delicious!! We also enjoyed watching basketball on the big screen. Overall, Dogfish Head for the win!!

Calamari

Stopped here for some much needed respite from a busy month. Took the advice of my new bar mate friend by ordering the calamari. Great call. Very light and crunchy. Not chewy. The fried jalapeño pieces were an added plus. The dipping honey sauce was too magical to touch. The blackened shrimp tacos were a hit. The side of cole slaw was too dry though. Old fashioned to drink and my night was made proper. Would definitely recommend.

Crab pizza

I really liked the interior and I thought the food was decent. The crab pizza was super cheesy, but a bit heavy and greasy. The parmesan truffle fries were addictive. Minus two stars because the hosts just were not welcoming. I don't want to say that all breweries allow strollers but many do since there's generally a lot of space and it's pretty family friendly. The host acted like we were trying to dine in our bathing suits; like we were smelly; like we were doing something so repulsive by bringing in the stroller with our 5 month old. In fact we were waiting for our friends to arrive and stood there for a moment because it was raining and we didn't have much to cover the baby... And she asked us to go outside because we couldn't have the stroller inside. Later I think I noticed they did the same thing to another family, so at least they were fair...I think I noticed them looking back at us and saying something. Anyway it was a very weird experience that threw off my mood at the beginning of a nice meal. Interior was really cool-looking and spacious --which also makes me wonder why there is a no stroller policy... It's Delaware law, I guess but it seems so arbitrary... Shouldn't it be specific to buildings? Either way, the front of house staff just seemed so rude about it. We didn't know about the no stroller policy in Delaware... Why be like that to paying customers? Maybe the businesses in Delaware should write to their legislators to try and get this law changed if it bothers staff so much. I'm assuming there are a lot of families like us that come in town wanting to have a beer, despite having an infant or young children who need strollers.

Birria taco

Delicious. We went here on a recent trip. My husband had an exotic pizza with curry on it and I had the birria tacos. We also shared the pretzel bites for the table. It was a lot of food. But all delicious and we loved the ambiance of the place especially the outdoor seating around. Staff was nice and attentive.

Six piece wings medium buffalo

This is one of those places that my wife and I went back to, twice on a two-day visit. We started with the six wings with medium buffalo. My wife's had the blackened shrimp tacos with a side of mac and cheese. And I had the pizza, with pepperoni and mushrooms. I had the affo world wide Stout, both times. It will put hair on your chest. Everything was great hence why we made a repeat visit. Great service. We will definitely be back.

There's so many things to like here. Every time we come, the weight staff has been happy, right, knowledgeable, and pleasant. No exceptions. That's a great record. But the food. Oh my goodness. The dollar wings on Sundays is a very good deal, because the buffalo wings are some of the best in town, and are very similar to the ones at Summer House. The dry wings are the ones that my partner prefers and he loves those. The roast beef, which is actually ribeye on a whack sandwich roll, is also spectacular. There's Caesar salads are also good. Another ones, we haven't been able to go wrong yet with anything we've ordered here. And by the way, their blue cheese dressing is made in house, and it is truly exceptional.

Pizza to die for

It's been over 11 years since my last review of this place so I thought I'd review it again. I've tried to go there several times over the last couple of years with my gf, but every time we got there and found out there was a 45-minute or longer wait we would just walk down the street to Chesapeake and Maine instead. I hate waiting that long to eat and as a rule, I usually won't do it. But the other night I was by myself and it was fairly early, around five-ish, and I very easily got a seat at the bar. I was finally able to taste the pizza that I've heard so much about and it totally lived up to the hype. It was fantastic!

just shipped my pants wings

Genuinely the best dining experience we've had in Rehoboth! allll of our food came out amazing and fresh. The pretzel bites were phenomenal and the beer cheese is the best in town. The Shakespeare in Harlem Pizza was quite possibly the best craft pizza i've ever had. the just shipped my pants wings are so flavorful and had a really nice amount of spice (definitely HOT). will be adding this place to our restaurant tradition.

Pretty Cocktail

Good food. Good beer. Loud, busy environment (great for kids. ha). To be upfront about it: there is a waitlist. It is long. It does move faster than they say it will, but it still does take a while. Yes, it looks like tables are open, and the space is large, but I don't know, they have a system I guess. We didn't really wait that long, but we waited. Good beer. Not blow your mind beer, but really very solid beer. Can't say one sticks out to me, but that's the point, they are all fine choices - pick the style you normally like. (although they do recommend pairings for certain dishes). They also have cocktails for those that are feeling un beer. The food was all good. I think the standout of the night was the macaroni and cheese with wings in it. Great spot for kids. good kids menu and kids drinks. Service was fairly quick once we were seated. Although our appetizer was somehow forgotten, but that was actually for the better in the end as we'd ordered too much food and our server comp'ed us a beer in apology.

Shrimp tacos
Emily V.

This is a really great spot to pop in for lunch after a morning on the beach. It's spacious and service was quick. I love all of the cocktail and drink options. We had a plethora of food items, but I'd definitely recommend the corn ribs to start, especially if you're a fan of street corn. My family members had the After the Storm pizza which they liked, but was a bit salty. I had the chili cheese dog duo which I enjoyed but wish it just had a bit more cheese sauce. My brother enjoyed his shrimp tacos as well. For dessert, you cannot go wrong with the banana pudding! Overall, I'd recommend if you're looking for a nice lunch or dinner in the area!

Lively and open. Waitstaff not super friendly. I had dignity of movement pizza. Hubs had chili cheese dogs both of which were okay. My beer was super cold so that was good!! I expected better on the food and service.

They said 25 min for a seat. It took 40 min. Then another 10 for the waitress to serve us.

Ask the Community - Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats

Do they have gluten free dishes?

They have dishes that would be gluten free, but are not necessarily designated GF.

Is it kid friendly?

Hey Laura - absolutely, there are tons of kids when we go! It's right down the street from the beach so very family friendly. Later at night they can have live bands which may be too loud for kids so check out the schedule on their website but I…

Do they have vegan options?

The menu changes from time to time, but vegan options are not a priority in my experience.

Do they have college football on Saturday afternoon?

Is cigar smoking permitted at Dogfish Head Brewing?

No smoking inside. Don't think there is an outside but I wouldn't think it would be allowed anyway. I would ask the manager.

Are dogs welcome?

Definitely not inside. There is an outside dining area open during warmer months, but I'm not sure if they allow dogs there.

We enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere so much that we made it a point to come back the following year. That second visit was just okay. The food and service weren't quite as good, but we chalked it up to an off day and decided to give it another chance this year. Unfortunately, the third visit was the worst of the three. We were initially seated near the stage where the music was so loud that we could barely hear each other talk. To their credit, the host was accommodating and moved us to another table when we asked. However, our server's response was disappointing. She made a passive-aggressive comment along the lines of, "That's fine if you move, I just won't make as much money." Not exactly something guests expect to hear when simply asking for a quieter table. The food was bland and arrived at different times. Some dishes were cold by the time they reached the table. Several drinks were forgotten, and we had to remind our server multiple times before receiving them. We also spoke with management about our experience, but they seemed largely uninterested and didn't appear concerned about addressing the issues. The one bright spot is the outdoor area. It's a great space with lawn games, a playground, and plenty of room to relax. If you're looking for a place to have a drink outside and let the kids play, it serves that purpose well. For us, though, the combination of poor service, inconsistent food quality, and lack of concern from management means we won't be returning.

On a Thursday mid-afternoon we were on our way back to the house from the Indian River Inlet and were in the mood to relax with a beer. Luckily, Bethany Bay Brewing was right on our way home so we took a little detour. The parking lot was pretty empty but to our surprise it was rather crowded. The beertender, Mack, was right there to greet us. She was very nice and helpful, did a great job explaining their tap list, and even gave us recommendations for other local establishments to try out. She also gave us an opportunity to taste any beer before we ordered a pint which is much appreciated! My dad got an IPA while my mom and I got flights (5 pours for $15). I enjoyed all of the beers I tried, especially the Blueberry Blonde and Blood Orange IPA. I would have been happy ordering a full pour of any of the beers I had in my flight (I also had Riptide Double IPA, Dark Seas Chocolate Stout, and Birds Nest Lager). They also provide complementary popcorn to their guests which is a thoughtful gesture. They have seltzers, wines, and ciders available for any non-beer drinkers out there, and I did see a sign signifying discounts for veterans and cyclists! If I lived locally I would definitely be a regular here. Next June I will definitely make it a point to stop in and have another flight of 5 beers I didn't try during this visit. We were very pleased with our short visit and were very happy we made the decision to stop in on our way home.

Luckily, the band was playing outside and none of this impacted our experience inside at the bar. The beertenders were friendly and efficient, especially with how busy Burley Oak was that night. I loved the atmosphere. It was a great venue to spend an evening. It felt like we were on a night out and there was a buzz in the air. Different from another local brewery we enjoy frequenting to relax and soak up some sunshine. We started at one of the hightop tables in the main taproom but moved to the end of the bar after a couple paid their tab and left. Burley Oak typically offers flights and single pours, but there were no flights that night due to the size of the crowd (completely understandable). We still were able to try multiple different beers and styles. I think my favorite was the Brown Butter Apple Pie, which indeed tasted like apple pie--delicious! I also had Sea Heathen, their Lime Lager (wasn't bad but I've had better), and a couple different IPAs. Their taplist featured something for everyone. If you or someone in your party doesn't enjoy beer, Burley Oak also offered mixed drinks, cocktails, and wine. My parents and I of course stuck with beer since we were at a brewery and enjoyed our selections. I also happened to get into conversation with the owner at the bar and he spoke to me like we were regulars. He was very personable, had a great sense of humor, and brought a bunch of energy. It was nice to see someone who was friendly and passionate about their business. We will be back to try more beer during our next stay in Berlin.
