Hi, Our dog Phoenix has been groomed at this establishment for the past 7 years, and they have always done a wonderful job. However, this last experience left us very disappointed, particularly with the owner, Yvonne. Upon picking up Phoenix, I noticed some blood on my fingers once I got home. Initially, I didn't think much of it and washed my hands. When I brought Phoenix upstairs, my wife immediately noticed that he was bleeding. We found the source of the blood was a wound above his tail. Checking downstairs, we saw blood on our baseboards and his dog bed, though fortunately, not on the couch. I called Yvonne to ask why she didn't inform us about Phoenix's bleeding. She responded that she forgot to mention his cyst had opened up. I was very unhappy with this response, especially coming from a business owner. I then asked if her assistant, Art, had given Phoenix his haircut since we had issues with him before. Yvonne assured me that she had done the grooming herself and didn't notice any bleeding. The bleeding from a popped cyst wasn't the main issue; it was the lack of communication from Yvonne when we picked up Phoenix. During our phone conversation, I asked what we should do, and she recommended taking him to the vet. We ended up taking Phoenix to the emergency vet since it was late, which cost us $300. A few days later, after my wife texted Yvonne to schedule Phoenix's next haircut, Yvonne informed us that she could no longer see him. She cited our being 15 minutes late for the last appointment and my reaction to finding Phoenix bleeding as reasons. Overall, if you are okay with poor communication, terrible customer service, and potential injuries going unnoticed, then this place might work for you. Otherwise, I would strongly suggest finding another groomer for your pet. And for the record, I have the receipts to back up my claims. read more

We are still extremely satisfied with every experience we have here. Yvonne and Art are amazing at what they do. Their skill and patience are truly unmatched. Our pups are very comfortable with them and they are so excited when we pick them up and completely relaxed once we get them home. It can be a task to obtain an appointment, but all it takes is a little patience. And being able to bring your pup here is worth having a little patience. I consider it a privilege to bring our pups here and I cannot see myself trusting another groomer to take care of our pups. read more

I love Doggie Couture! First off they have no cages so you can't beat that. They give your dog one on one attention the whole time your dog is there. I love the fact that they don't spray your pup with "perfume" as a finishing touch. I am allergic to those smells plus I don't think the dogs really want to smell like that afterwards anyways. Ravin had a bad groom somewhere else so a few days later I brought her to Doggie Couture to see if they could save her. Vincent didn't have much hair to work with but he was able to make her look great. I am very happy with Doggie Couture and will stick to them from now on. No more going other unknown groomers. Shitty now! Same owners it's been years since I visited this place I originally followed Yvonne to open this place and over time she became too busy for regular clients. Sounds like they've gotten too big to appreciate client relationships. I called today to make appts for the new pups after my baby passed thinking we ended on a good note and catching up. Art pretends it's not him answering the phone after I ask if it's him and give my very unique name. I thought it was wierd that I had to call back a few times but thought it was just a bad connection. I now know I was being hung up on intentionally. This place use to be great and I've sent so many people to doggy couture locally over the years. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation to communicate any issues but instead I was told Doggy Couture is not accepting new clients anymore. Hope thats true but I doubt it given I was hung up on 3 times and lied to when I thought I was reconnecting with a long time local business I love. Just some advice for Art and Yvonne. I would've respected any feedback to avoid misunderstandings moving forward but after reading your reviews sounds like I'm not alone. read more

After three years of taking our dog to DC, he had a rough time at a grooming appointment. I was scolded quite rudely and told we had to bring him back every 4 -6 weeks so he would get more used to being groomed. When we called to try to get him an appointment within those 6 weeks, we were told they could not fit him in and this were no longer willing to groom him. She is very timid with new people and when I come to pick her up she is calm and happy. They DO NOT kennel them at all, they preform the wash and haircut straight through. The groomer focuses only on the one dog at a time. I can not say enough good things. When I took my dog in the winter they ran out and brought my dog to my car so she wouldn't get wet!!! These guys were cool until they told me they couldn't take my dogs anymore. In the years of doing business with them I had to cancel 2 appointments last minute and they decided to X me from their services lol I wished they would of just charged me instead of just plain out X'd me from their services. I would have no problem paying the grooming fee to make up for lost income to their groomers. My apologies to them. My dogs always seemed to be good after so I would recommend them. One big thing is that the dogs don't really smell good after but they did do a good job on the hair cuts. Their cage free model is great for the doggies. So I ended up at DC because I usually take my pup to PetSmart but they were completely booked. I did a little research on places near me and found DC. My first time here was a disaster. So my BF dropped my puppy off at the scheduled time and I picked him up. We asked for a summer cute which he has had before and I didn't realized that their definition of a summer cut was to bald my dogs ears. They did explain to us that he had mats on his body near his butt and on his ears. Now the tangles on his ear was visible to the point they didn't have to whack his hair completely off. My dog didn't even look like my dog when I picked him up. I really feel that I should have gotten a phone call to explain what they were going to do to his ears before they did it. You really have to pick 1 hour and 15 mins of your day waiting for your dog to get groom. Can't really run errands between it. Sit there or stay near by. Had no idea that they would charge me extra $20 for doggie boarding because i came in 50mins after my dog was finished. Cage free sounds good but if they're so strict with having to pick my dog up on exact dot as soon as they're done, what's the point of the cage free? They did a pretty job with my dog's grooming but I probably won't come back. I prefer a place that's not as strict. I've taken my dog to many different groomers over the country and all of them that I've been to I just have to pick my dog up before they close for the day (some were cage free too). So I pretty much paid $75 just for a small dog grooming. Shoulda have told me about their strict rules before I drop my dog off. That's all. read more

So happy to find this place! The employees are so sweet, especially to the dogs. When I first got in there, they were very welcoming. They played with my dog before bringing him to the back, which I think lessen his anxiety. While they played with my dog, they asked how I would like him to be groomed. One great thing is that they do not cage the dogs. The dogs that are already done with their grooming are playing while waiting for their owners. They require that you make an appointment and these appointments only last an hour (unlike the 4hr timeframe given by other groomers). Once my little doggy was done, he was presented to me with a tie! They do such great work! My doggy smelled so good, looked so cute, but most of all he was happy and not crying! read more
