This place was amazing and close to Dulles Airport which makes a great stop after picking someone up or dropping off. Had the korma chop, lamb skewer, and dumpling soup. Everything was so so so flavorful. I want more of the noodles! Get it with beef though you can get chicken or shrimp. You can also order a whole lamb if youre having a party with advanced notice. Ordered delivery ahead of time through yelp, including small hot chicken stew, pavlov, noodle, lamb skewers, and black mushroom cold dish for over $100. A few issues with my delivery: 1. I paid $16 tip for a less than a mile delivery, and 20 minutes pass the delivery time I see no delivery at all. Called restaurant twice and communication just wasn't happening, I don't think he understood I was looking for an order instead of ordering. Found the order outside the door when I tried to go to the restaurant in person to figure things out. 2. Small size of hot chicken stew is way smaller than expected. It is the same size as the pavlov and other dishes, i see someone already mentioned this with a picture. For $35.95 price tag I do find this a bomb. 3. Food tasted ok, no complains there. But trying to feed a party of 3 adults and 3 young kids with a $130 delivery might not be enough here. read more

It was our first time trying Uyghur food and it was delicious. It tasted authentic and homemade. We ordered samsa, fried rice, korma chop, signature rice noodles, kawa goshtnan, meat goshtnan and royal laghman. For dessert we got the Dolan cake, chocolate baklava and kataifi with pistachio. We also ordered the dolan chai. EVERYTHING was amazing. Would certainly go there again to try other dishes. The only suggestion we had was to get more help. We had one guy who was basically running the whole floor. We were probably there for more than 3 hours and we couldn't even be upset because we saw how hard he was working. We were on on a little road trip. I was starting to get hungry and so I decided to stop here on a whim. I had never heard of Uyghur food or culture till we ate here. I ordered the Fried tofu and my husband ordered the goshnan. I was really impressed with my meal, and my husband was very happy with his. I particularly liked the combination of tofu and wood ear. That's hard to find in the US. We were so satisfied in fact, that we are planning to come back here on our way home. First time trying Uyghur so we didn't have anything to compare it to. My party ordered a variety of dishes to enjoy family style. My favorite was the hot chicken stew - a large, shareable plate of flavorful chicken pieces served on a bed of noodles - and also the goshnan ( beef/lamb meat pie) which was very tasty. We had a very positive experience at Dolan Uyghur. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated with traditional Uyghur art. The service was excellent. All of the staff members we interacted with were very polite and friendly. Our waiter specifically was very accommodating and educated on Uyghur cuisine. He offered great advice on what to order as first timers to the restaurant and we were very pleased with what we ordered! Our favorite dish was the korma chop. This place is delicious! I ordered from Uber Eats while they had a special going and was unsure whether it was an actual restaurant or just a kitchen so I came to look it up on yelp! I ordered fried rice with beef, chicken and added shrimp extra spicy. I actually was not expecting the food to be spicy at all but whooo the spice level was there. Love that it came as advertised. Dolan is the first and only place that I got to try Uyghur food. All the food I tried was very flavorful. The beef samsa, the noodle dish Korma Chop, the baklava were all good, especially the noodle - I actually had a craving for the noodle a few times after the first time trying it out. I do think the price is a bit on a high side overall, especially the dumplings. I really wanted to try the dumplings but I thought the price was quite outrageous ($21 for 6 counts) - hopefully the size is 2x or 3x as big as a normal dumpling. read more

Brilliant. Some may say the service isn't great, but I don't agree. I believe they are concerned and immediately want to serve you when you are ready and flag them down. How many times have you been to a restaurant and the server is breathing down your neck? They aren't your traditional place and sometimes you need time to take in all the different types of food they offer. The food was phenomenal. I think the KORMA CHOP, was delectable with such flavor. Some assessments are correct in that they don't provide as much as the average person would like for meat in the dish, but think of it as the flavor of the noodles as the meal you are searching for and how that is the main focal point. The BEEF KATLIMA, same thing I stated before, but this flavor is delicious. I think with the veggies and the mushrooms, it just pairs perfectly. The bun after being soaked in the sauce is lovely. I can't get enough. I say try it and come in with the expectation of sharing a good size portion and just taking in a different culture's food. Try something new and different. read more

This is a nice little family run place near a Petsmart and a Lowes. Suggest getting a reservation if you go as it was pretty crowded for our visit. No liquor license but tea is awesome! Skip the veggie rolls as they're really greasy inside and kind of burnt outside. The entrees were missing some ingredients that were on the menu but were wonderful anyway. The noodle dishes are all standouts and the green beans I know I'll crave every time I drive by the Lowes!! The chocolate baklava is worth the splurge. The waiter (maybe the son?) was great. Friendly and seemed to really like his job. This place has a great heart and the food is good too! We plan to visit again and again. read more

The group included vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and people from three different continents, but everyone found something to their taste. First time trying Uyghur food, and I am not impressed, probably it's not for my taste. I ordered Korma Chop with shrimp, Arlash Korma, Beef Katlima and Pitir Manta. All these dishes are oily and salty except Pitir Manta. I like the noodle they served in Korma Chop, and the buns in Beef Katlima and that's about it. We also like the Dolan Chay tea, but don't like the fact that the tea was served in a dirty pot, there are oily, sticky residue all over the pot. read more
