Came into the shop because I was on the road and was in need of caffeine, of course I yelped & found this spot, I know that it was something else before so I figured let me try them out. I ended up getting the peppermint latte ! My daughter got some ice cream! (Which she fell in love with! The Strawberry ice cream was rich and was def worth trying.) we didn't get a chance to try the other desserts but when in the area I will def try them! We stopped by because of all the raving reviews. I have to say I was less than impressed. From the employee not even being aware of the special that was ALL over their website. He literally scoured over my phone with the email sale for 40% off a dozen macaroons with the purchase of two pastries. Figured this would give us a nice sampling of the bakery. The macaroons weren't even out and we had to ask for them to be brought out at 3:30 in the afternoon. They were dry, crumbly and tasteless. Chocolate decadence was ok and the L'Opera was way too sweet. We won't be coming back. read more

I believe it is family run. The owner is the nicest man, he told us to pay after we sit down and enjoy our food and drinks. He came by and gave us complementary chocolates for "first time customers" and then came by again to check up on us and asked us if we were enjoying everything okay. So hospitable and kind. So we were looking forward to trying Dolce and Bean for dessert after dinner but when we arrived they had just closed. The owner saw us standing outside and opened the store just for our small group. He could not have been nicer and more welcoming. The store has an amazing array of tasty chocolates and desserts and small gelato section with about 8 or 10 different flavors. The gelato was very tasty and the chocolates were very good as well. To celebrate a birthday during covid can be a bummer, but walking into Dolce&Bean truly erased all my sadness. I was greeted with a sample chocolate (which was INCREDIBLE) and the kindness of both the young woman who worked there and who I can only describe as the manager/possible owner? They patiently answered my questions and explained some of the more popular macarons and chocolates. I purchased a 12-pack of macarons of all sorts of flavors, a cappuccino, and a tiramisu cake. As I was paying for my items, the manager/owner (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name!!!) told me about their most popular chocolate cake. I made a mental note to buy it next time, and then he informed me that, for my birthday, he added the cake in at no extra cost. SO thoughtful! Some of the macarons tasted stale - the cookies were hard - not crunchy soft like they are supposed to be. Some of the macarons were delicious and crunchy soft. Such a charming, delightful shop and Petros, the owner, has a courtly, Old World charm and takes amazing care of each person who enters. The espresso and cappucino were prepared with great care, the gelato is great, and the Neuhaus chocolates and cakes (including a beautiful chocolate bombe and wonderful slice of Sacher torte) are divine. After hearing my mom does not get out much these days, Petros came outside and had a lovely conversation with her in French. This is a beautiful gem of a coffee shop and bakery! They sell Neuhaus chocolate, which is from Belgium - bought these personally as gifts when we went to Belgium last year and can tell you these are delicious, although pricey. He has done such a good job with this pastry shop. It is IMPECCABLY CLEAN, cozy, and inviting. The desserts are out of this world! We tried two cakes (pecan bourbon cheesecake and L'opera cake) and two lattes (regular and hazelnut). We also indulged in a small selection of their house chocolates.
