We love Dolche Café. The food is delicious! My children (5 and 2) also love their food. The menu has many options and everything we have tried is delicious! One of my go to's is the avocado toast with salmon. Comes with a side of salad. So good! Prices are also great! I also love their large variety of iced coffees. So many flavors to choose from! My fiancé ordered from here a couple days ago and I seriously can't stop thinking about their turkey club sandwich. I'm usually not even a big sandwich person but it was soooo freakin good. Perfectly ripe avocado, thinly sliced turkey, red onion, white american, and homemade chipotle sauce on sour dough. They don't skimp on the ingredients either, it's loaded up with everything. It was so good I woke up this morning and asked if we could order from there again and he had to remind me that it's Christmas! It appears small from the outside, but there is an entire dining area to the right upon entrance. Parking is scarce. The host was very respectful, as well as the rest of the staff. I started off with a watermelon agua fresca, which was massive (and explains why it's $7.75). My partner ordered the iced cinnamon latte. Both drinks were delicious and did not ruin our palettes. For our entrees I blindly ordered the tamales en salsa verde. The dish was sweet, but lacked a the salty savory taste I was looking for (so add meat next time). My partner ordered the desayuno del patron which she customized with the pablano crepe, salsa verde chilaquiles, and a tamale en salsa verde. Both entrees were delicious. Visited Dolche Cafe today with relatives and the food, as always is delicious! It was crowded today, but Elena was able to get us a table in 10 minutes. Cafe de la Olla was smooth and just perfect! Cousins had ice tea and a sugar free caramel iced coffee. We enjoyed Chilaquiles divorciados (a split of red and green), scrumptious potatoes with a dash of rosemary, beans, and two eggs. We also had chorizo and eggs, a Dolche burger and fries and cheesecake and tres leches cake for dessert. Go there and you will NOT be disappointed. Been here a few times already. Service has been awesome. Each time I tried something new and everything has been pretty tasty so far! It's also a super cute place! It's a IYKYK kinda spot! The reason for the 3 stars is the service I received during my last visit. The woman who served my daughter and I did the following things: 1) When our table was ready, she mumbled something to us as she walked passed us. She came back a minute later and said, "your table is ready, It's on the left". - She did not walk us back, she did not seat us, she did not provide us menus. After about 5 mins, a young girl approached and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink and when she realized the other woman didn't give us menus or anything, she embarrassing made a face and quickly brought us menus and silverware. 2) My daughter ordered the French toast; once our food was served, we noticed the cute little syrup bottle was empty, so naturally we asked for syrup. My daughter got down to her final French toast and the woman brought us what you see in the photo. 2 dirty old looking syrup cups! So you mean to tell me that the restaurant ran out of syrup? Or, you couldn't grab one from an empty table? 3) I ordered the cafe de olla; the woman walked along the table sides refilling coffee cups and saying to those customers, "cafe de olla?" - she looks back at me and walks back toward the kitchen. The most embarrassing part is when your child sees their parent being treated different from the other patrons and whispers to you "is it because you're black?" And FYI my daughter is half Mexican - so it wasn't about race for us - but it clearly was for the woman who served us. Microaggression is an ugly business. read more

We were looking to try something new and saw this cafe in Yelp. What a treat! It's small, quaint and clean. The staff immediately greeted us. Service was quick and attentive. The food was WONDERFUL! I had chilaquiles and added carnitas. It's the best I've had in Chula Vista. I loved the sauce and the pickled onions. My husband had birria tacos and said it was great. They have adequate parking. The clientele was mostly women having lunch out. They serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. Yelp said they had outside seating but I only saw one table and a couple of chairs on the sidewalk. I came into Dolche Cafe with my friend and was greeted very kindly by the owner. We found seats pretty quickly and were given the menu swiftly as well. The ambiance in the restaurant is very nice and definitely family oriented which gives a nice welcoming feeling to those who come. The menu has a lot of options I honestly didn't know what to get but I ended up getting a Hot Chocolate and Chori-Papa (a chorizo burrito with potatoes, eggs, and cheese). My friend and I ordered our food and got it so quickly. The service and hospitality is amazing here. I felt very comfortable talking to the lady who took our order, as if I was talking to someone in my family. The way the food is presented matches with the taste of it as well. I loved every bite of it as the flavors blended together nicely. The potatoes were soft and well seasoned as well as the blend of egg and chorizo. I went to brunch friends today and it's Saturday so I did expect a full house but the wait was short, the service was amazing, my party was pleasantly surprised that the menu had SO MUCH to choose from and the drink menu was so good so much variety I ended up getting the tamarind water and for food my favorite soup called Albondigas they exceeded my expectations and the place was small but so cute, I recommend if you wanna go with family and or a cute girls brunch like I had with my friends. I had been wanting to try this place based on the "good reviews" on a local Facebook page for the area. I should have remembered this FB page does not allow for any bad reviews on community restaurants and that everything I was reading was "good". I wonder how many bad reviews have been deleted, because our experience was absolutely horrible. I have only submitted three Yelp reviews in my life, I feel compelled to share what we experienced at this restaurant so people can be aware. The place is extremely small, super stuffy and no airflow, normally I would have left but kept thinking it had great reviews. We ordered chilaquiles poblanos, an Americano and a Mazapan latte. The food came before the coffees, no biggie. Food tasted good and we ate while the coffees came. Finally the coffees arrive, the mazapan latte was just okay, however my husband's coffee cup had 3 sets of marked pink lipstick on the cup. DISGUSTING! We called the waiter over and he barely apologized, I think he was one of the owners. He just took the cup and said he would bring a fresh Americano. Took him 10 mins to bring the new coffee. I keep eating and what do I find, a hair in the eggs. Gross right! I am already feeling grossed out by the lips on the cups that I think I to myself no way this is happening too, hair in the food! I start to think maybe it's mine because I have a lot of hair but I try to get it with my fork but the hair is fully cooked into the egg! So Gross! We call the waiter over again and tell him what happened, he again doesn't seem to act like this is a big deal (if this was my restaurant I would have been appalled and extremely apologetic). We ask for our check, he discounts 50% and give us a coupon for a 2 for 1 meal when we come back. Yeah no thanks, we will never come back!
