Avoid this store - head to Hanover or another Dollar Tree location before wasting your time and energy at the Jessup location. While the Jessup store is the closest Dollar Tree to my house, I try to avoid this location due to the consistently empty shelves, row upon row of boxes that need to be unpacked to stock the shelves, and usually just one employee working the register regardless of the crowd. Today, there was only one employee visible in the entire store with a huge line of shoppers trying to check out at 1:30pm on a Saturday. Further, the strip mall where this store is located has a terrible, crowded parking lot and the general area isn't that safe. It is located very near a truck stop and state prison, I have seen a car parked there with individuals openly playing with a gun, and the crowd includes homeless people. Management at this store needs to do better. Wish Dollar Tree had a store in Ellicott City or in Columbia's Dobbin shopping area. read more

This place was a headache to get into. And it wasn't like I was here in the evening or on a weekend. I came midweek, midday. This plaza is a mess overall, and confusing to navigate. Once I did find a parking spot, I trekked to this store to browse a bit. When I saw browse, I end up getting more items than intended. But for here, it was not the case. I ended up with about a third of the basket filled and ended up being a bit annoyed. The selection here wasn't the best and that could have been because there wasn't much on the shelves either. When I did finally get to the counter, it was slow. When I first approached the registers there was only one register open. As the line slowly moved forward, two more registers opened. But, it didn't really go any faster. Even though the lady running my line was sweet, she really took her time. Once done, I made my way outside and trekked back to my car. If it wasn't for wanting to hit some other locations in this plaza, I probably would have headed out right then and there. read more

Today was my first visit to this location. I arrived at the perfect time because the store had very customers. The aisles were empty and easy to navigate. The staff members were busy stocking the shelves, so the merchandise was relatively in place and readily available. I located everything that I needed without a problem. After waiting, a full 10 minutes to get checked out, the cashier rang up someone else's items and added them to my order. When I questioned the price, she realized what she had screwed up. I told her at that point I need to get to work she started doing a whole bunch of stuff ended up I paid for someone else's items just so I could leave and go back to work because she did not know how to avoid the items that she rang prematurely So I paid for someone else's items and was still late getting back to work There is no point in going to the store not only does it take just as long as any other dollar tree to wait in line, but the cashiers do not know how to use their registers read more

They usually have stuff that some stores in the area don't have so I like to check it out on occasion but man it's like a hit or miss whether they'll be open or not. I usually end up having to go the Arundel mills one. Not the nicest of the DTs that I have visited, this one was very untidy with full boxes and half-empty boxes that were in the middle of being shelved stacked and apparently tossed in the aisles. Not a good shopping experience at all. But they did have everything that I've seen at other DTs. Every so often, a good bargain jumps out and today was no exception. This location is SOOOOOO SLOW!!! When I first walked in, I should've turned right around and left because the line was 1/2 way down the isle. The young lady on the line I'm in acts like she doesn't want to be here. And she's taking her precious time ringing people up, she's really slow. She even had the nerve to answer the phone while ringing up customers. In my mind, I'm like, "Whoa!" Is this the type of service they're providing? She didn't greet anyone that came in the store, nor anyone in her line. I'm like, "Wow!" I don't think that I'll be visiting this location anymore. The store itself isn't clean either, there's stuff EVERYWHERE!! Sticky stuff on the floor and just the whole atmosphere seemed messy. Could it have been because it was the weekend? I love this Dollar Tree. It's not the closest location, but I go slightly further to get the better selection and friendlier staff. They always have a ton of stuff that I didn't know I could get for a dollar, and even have a refrigerated and shelf stable food section! We've been able to save a lot of money going here, and I get a lot of things to use for DIYs here. I got most of my gardening supplies here, and they have seeds for 25 cents each! They accept cash, debit and credit, EBT, but not WIC. They don't offer returns or store credit, but they do let you switch out the item you don't want for anything else in the store of the same price. Everything is $1 max. They are understaffed, so only expect one cashier, and possible lines since all of the savvy people know to come here, but its well worth the wait. read more

This dollar store is one of my favorites. It is clean, well stocked ALWAYS and l am never in an extremely long line. The location in Jessup is a bit of a drive for me, but they ALWAYS have the items l need, saving me from gong from $ store to $ store, which is not cost effective and can be a bit aggravating. read more

This Jessup location has really gone to sh*t lately! They need new management! The ladies are very RUDE and refused to let me exchange an item without a receipt. EXCHANGE, mind you, not refund. Other locations do it with no hassle. Worst of all, beginning a couple weeks ago, and apparently until further notice, this location is CLOSED when it is supposed to be OPEN! I called to see if they had a particular item and was told yes, they have it. By the time I arrived, there was a sign on the door "CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE"! Now, sign says the hours are 11am to 7pm, when the hours are SUPPOSED to be 8am to 10pm. read more

I tried to go shop with my 2 yr old for her bday party. I wanted to put her in a shopping cart to shop but I didn't see any. So ask the associate who was standing there with three carts full of merchandise, stocking shelves. There were also several at the front of the store full of Christmas decor. She stated all the customers have them so none are available. Huh???? Mind you I arrived as soon as the store opened on a week day. There were like 3 people in the store. No it's because you have ten carts here full of s#!+. So I looked at her and waited, with my child in my arms, for her to offer me one of the ones she had. The store was so dirty and disorganized I ended up leaving after looking down one aisle.. I am a fan of Dollar Trees, wherever we are. This location feels a bit more organized than the one at Arundel Mills Blvd. I was on my way to the one at Arundel, when stopped at the light, I saw this one. It was a quick trip to get some candy for my husband. They have a good variety of products. The candy section was in need of some stocking new items. I did find what I was looking for, but , must of the time I find what I go to Dollar Tree for. The cashier was friendly and polite, not just with me, but with prior customers. I actually got a name of a good brazilian chicken fried rice from a restaurant nearby that she recommends. How awesome! Parking was easy and service was quick and friendly. read more

I went to this store last week and yesterday a lady name Tye is the manager she closes the store way before closing and talks to the customers so disrespectful if you ask her name she refuses to give it to you and you have to get if from another employee other customers complain about how rude she is. I told her I was gonna make a complaint to corporate about how she keeps closing the store early and talks disrespectful and she replied report me I've already been reported I don't care. This is the type of adult that you have representing their store I will never shop here again and I use to go 3 days a week minimum. read more

This dollar tree is very messy and chaotic!! When I visited here, there were boxes EVERYWHERE!! It was hard for more than one person to maneuver down the aisles at the same time. I couldn't find most of what I was looking for due to boxes blocking my path. Even though everything is a buck, there still should be some sort of organization or at least a system for getting merch in and out quickly. Not a fan of this location! But, that's not the only reason for two stars...while checking out, the cashier named Bonnie decided to hand me items to place in a bag that was already in my cart instead of just giving me a shiny new bag. Really?!? Ok, whatever lady! Guess dollar tree is skimpy with bags too! So, as she was doing so, a staple from one of the items went into my thumb...to the point where I said ouch twice and physically had to pry the staple from my thumb. She merely looked at me and just made a noise, then kept ringing my other items. No "Are you ok?" or "What happened?", just simply poor customer service. Based on today's visit, I would give it a 1 star rating. I came into this Dollar Tree to purchase chips and dip. Once I get to my destination I go to snack on my chips and dip, to find out the dip has been half way eaten. I immediately called them and was told that I can bring the product back so they can damage it out and I'll just grab another dip. The customer service was excellent along with check out. I did have a conversation with one of the associated stocking the shelves. She stated that people do come in the store and steal all the time and eat the food from the shelves and put the eaten items up there. I guess I should've checked my merchandise prior to purchasing. I will most likely be back because of their huge selection. Just wanted to make buyers aware of their purchases when it comes to food. I've never experienced this before, but now know this can happen to anyone. read more

So I grabbed a bunch of other useless crap! Total came to $10.60. I only had a $50 bill. Rude Unprofessional Bonnie say, I can't change that. I asked her what are you talking about, I want to pay for my things. I have no change, then she just stand there. I asked if she could get it from another register. She says nope they don't have change either. This is insane, so I'm forced to use a cc, this is ridiculous. Just no to this Dollar Tree in Jessup. The pictures posted of boxes stacked up is accurate at this Dollar Tree in Jessup. My experience with this location has been the worse ever. It is the most unorganized store I have ever been in. I made the huge mistake of having my online order delivered to this location thinking they could not possibly lose my order (if it is really lost). When I get there to pick up my package, they claim they can't find it. The Manager took my number and guaranteed that they would look for the item and call me the next day. I have not received one call from the Manager. My guess is that they opened my box and put my items on the floor because it was mixed in with their other boxes (or something else happened which I am not going to say). Do not, I repeat do not have your online order delivered to this location. Ship the items to your home address or have them delivered to the Dollar Tree in Hanover by the Food Lion and Big Lots. The Dollar Tree in Hanover is fully stocked, no boxes in the aisle and their customer service is excellent. They are always willing to assist and very friendly. read more
