Domco defines why people hate calling plumbers. They will promise you something and then in the contract, are vague about it. But you don't know it was vague until after they are done and didn't deliver on their promise. It's a shame because it was such a small thing and they didn't want to honor it because "it wasn't in the contract." Perhaps your contracts should detail what you actually promised your customers. I cannot tell you enough how happy I am with this company. They are polite, responsive, come on time when they say they will, and then do a great job. I called Domco to our house for a huge water leak. This was stemming from a burst Kitec pipe. They diagnosed the problem quickly, arranged for the precise leak detection location service to be at our house at 7 am the next day, located where in the slab the pipe had burst, and then dug down and were exactly spot on. Only one hole needed to be made. Dominic himself was actually at our house, overseeing some of the work and repairs, and gave us lots of great advice on how to proceed going forward from that point. Domco was also used by my mother for a problem she was having in the from of her house near the whole house shut off. They came on time, treated her like she was their Mom, and then, to give her peace of mind, they took their lunch break in the van in her driveway, and checked on the repair 30 minutes later and checked in with her before they left to give her peace of mind. Our neighbors had a great experience with Domco so we called them when we suspected a leak in the pipes within our bathroom walls. Scheduled same day appointment and they called and said they could come 2 hours earlier than the window. We were told that the tapping sound (sounded like water dripping) was just thermal expansion of the pipes hitting the wood and there was no leak. Used Domco last year for a sink clog/leak. They were here over an hour and we were charged minimal for their help. Had them come out today to hook up a gas line, which I know we could have done ourselves, but with gas leaks wanted to be safe and use plumber per PGE. They got job done I'm under 10 minutes and charged us $175.00. They do not charge by the hour, they charge by the job. I wouldn't be as upset, but the last job required much more work and we were charged less. Only reason they got 2 stars is because they showed up at the beginning of the 2 hour time frame. Called Domco when I discovered a tree root had entered my sewer riser clean out. I had used them before and was happy with the service so I gave them a call. Preston came out, said hi to my dogs and went right to work. The root going in was about a 1/2" in diameter. However once inside the pipe it took up all 4" of the pipe about 1 foot in length in the riser down to the main and branched out toward the house and the street. He had to change snake blades about 10 different times, used a keyhole saw, screw driver and blades I never knew existed. And I ran gas and water lines for 35 years. He literally worked his ass off for an hour and never took a break even with me encouraging him to do so. He then reached down and pulled out about 3 feet more hairy root blockage. Anyone who thinks plumbing work is menial I challenge them to try to go to Home Depot, rent a snake and try tackling a Japanese Maple root themselves like I did. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with Domco Plumbing. I set up a meeting for them to look at my sump pump, and twice they did not show. I stayed home from work both of those days, and didn't receive a phone call when they were late. I had to call both times and cancel because I have kids and had to get them from school, to sports, etc. The third time they showed up, and I scheduled for the work to be done. Again, they did not show when they said. I told the dispatcher I had my kids BD party and had to leave the house at a certain time. He assured me they would be here. I recently called Domco in Folsom to fix an emergency repair to my water heater, that a local Handyman I had hired had poorly installed. My fault, as we are currently in the process of selling our home, when our 10 yr old water heater gave up the ghost. I thought I would save a buck by going through a local Handyman, instead of a specialist in the first place. However it ended up turning into a frustrating nightmare with the Handyman's work. Especially in lieu of pending inspections and the escrow process with the house. As a last ditch effort, I turned to Yelp, read a few reviews and selected Domco in Folsom based on the satisfactory reviews here, also backed by a solid recommendation from a friend. Domco scheduled a same day visit which was extremely awesome, given the urgency of my leaking new water heater installed by a Handyman just two days prior. The service technician phoned me about 45 min prior to his arrival, in which he arrived 5-10 minutes early. The service tech knew exactly what was wrong (Handyman could not figure it out after two attempts) it's been over a week since I had Domco out to repair the shody work of the orig Handyman, and it's holding up and working flawlessly. Our experience was not as positive as everyone else's apparently. We had developed a leak in our water main, courtesy of a neighboring root. We were given their number by another plumber who spoke well of them. I called on Tuesday night. I called again on Wednesday morning. " we will have a tech out there between 8:00 and 9:00." I promptly left work to meet him. He can't do anything until a leak detection company comes to do their thing at 11:00. At 10 minutes minutes to 11 an unmarked van shows up. They explain the process and go to work. After less than hour they drive away. They did mark the spot with 4 flags. The tech from Domco assures me this is where we need to dig. "It's only about 15 inches down. The wife and I dug for over 3 hours , no pipe. We dug the hole approximately twice the size of the area they marked. Still no pipe. I called Domco. The dispatcher tells me they can have a guy out first thing in the morning. This is 2 nights with out water in the house. The next morning another tech comes to our home he digs for close to 90 minutes, before he uncovers the pipe. He effected the repair, and hooked us up to the neighbors water so the repair can cure. ( at least we can flush the toilets) later that afternoon a third tech came to put everything back together. For all our trouble three hours each, no water for 2 days. They graciously took 50 dollars off the bill. They were not able to return the first day, when I asked how late I could reach someone, she (dispatcher) told me someone always answers the phone. I reminded her that that was not my experience when I called the first time. I left a message, and never got a call back. All their techs drive newer trucks, I'm pretty sure we made a few payments for them. All told counting the leak detection crew they were here just under 3 hours, we were charged $900.00 I will look elsewhere next time. read more

Been living in the same house for 20 years. Over that time, I've had plumbers here about 15 times. At least 5 or 6 of those were Domco. I've consistently had problems with the other plumbers, but with Domco it's always been one-and-done -- the job has always been done correctly the first time. I know I can find cheaper plumbers, but multiple trips to fix the same issue is not worth losing my sanity, so to me it's money well spent. I WOULD BURN MY OWN HOUSE TO THE GROUND BEFORE I WOULD EVER PAY Domco Plumbing ANOTHER CENT! This company deliberately tried to scam us out of more than $8000! We had a clogged sewer line that was flooding our basement. We called Domco Plumbing to come out to snake the line. They came out and snaked the line, told us it was all good, they were paid and they left. When we woke up the next morning our whole house was flooded with sewer, so we called them back because they obviously did not finish the job! They insisted we needed a camera inspection which cost $275 (which was okay I guess to confirm there was a clog... um yes we know it's clogged, our house is flooded remember)! Anyways, they snaked it out 3 more times after that, over the span of 3 days (our house flooding every time we flushed a toilet or use water). The workers Domco Plumbing sent out here were loud and yelled obscenities, talked loudly about gambling and other unprofessional topics in our front yard which was embarrassing, because we live in a nice and quiet neighborhood with lots of kids (our neighbors complained to us after they left). They claimed that the clog was so bad that it broke their snaking tool three times. They said they did "Everything that could be done" but the roots were so bad that the "Only way to fix it was to dig up and replace the sewer line from the street to the house" and they quickly provided an estimate for more than $8000, thus, we needed some time to think about the cost and they left! THIS WAS THEIR ONLY SOLUTION! WE DECIDED TO LOOK INTO ALTERNATIVES AND SEARCHED AROUND ONLINE... IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES IT WAS CLEAR THAT THEY PURPOSELY WERE NOT USING THE TOOLS WE KNOW THAT THEY HAD IN THEIR TRUCK BECAUSE WE SAW THEM (THOUGH AT THE TIME WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE FOR) TO CUT THROUGH THE ROOTS IN THE LINE. Being younger home owners, we did not know that such tools existed. So we went up to Home Depot and rented a drain cleaner for $65 and had the line totally clear in less than 2 hours! BOTTOM LINE: THIS PLACE TRIED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US BIG TIME, THEY ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE US THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, NOT TO MENTION COMPLETELY DESTROYING OUR YARD, REMOVING TREES AND EVERYTHING ELSE TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT THEY COULD HAVE FIXED THE FIRST TIME THEY CAME OUT, BUT DIDN'T! OUR HOUSE FLOODED WITH SEWER 5+ TIMES AND WE COULD NOT USE OUR WATER/SHOWER/TOILET FOR 3 + DAYS IN THE PROCESS OF THEM TRYING TO SCAM AND SLOW JACK US OUT OF OUR MONEY. EITHER THEY ARE SEVERELY INCOMPETENT OR THEY ARE SEWER SUCKING CRIMINALS, EITHER WAY, DON'T LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE, YARD OR WALLET! As consumers and Homeowners, we are forced to rely on service providers to adhere to industry standards and repair problems at a fair cost. We have used Domco twice now and both times we were completely satisfied. Each time they have been out to our house within an hour or two from the time we called in. We had back up issues with our mainline, which were cleared out quickly and the employee was super helpful in explaining our problem and how to prevent it from happening in the future. On the positive side our call for toilet repair was answered quickly and professionally and a free estimate was promised. The technician arrived promptly and had necessary parts on the truck. To replace the filler assembly and flapper drain valve I was quoted $175. I had previously researched the parts cost and knew they were about about $25; so the labor is about $150. The total time to do the job was about 20 minutes - so the labor was priced at about $450 an hour! I asked to speak to the "boss" about this quote - but he refused to speak with me .... essentially take it or leave it. It seems the business strategy is to show up and quote an outrageous price hoping the customer will accept it under the duress of the situation, which I did - and the work was completed in a quality fashion - but I will never call this company again. Hot water heater went out and I called Domco on 10/26 (they installed the current water heater) to see when they would be able to come out. I was able to get an appointment for 10/27 between 1 & 4pm. I called Francine this morning at 7:30 (10/27) to see if there is any chance to get an earlier appointment due to a work scheduling conflict on my end. Her response was "let me she want I can do and how things are rolling this morning". She was kind enough to ask when I needed to leave & when I would be back to my home office so she could re-schedule accordingly. 9:20 am this morning ... got a call, they were 10 minutes out.
