Guilty as charged. Loading up on the Carbs here. Best time to arrive is around 9ish. If you come any earlier, not all the pastries are baked & brought out on the racks. That's right, the baked goods are all on racks for you to choose. They have trays & tongs for you to use. Now the hard part is to figure out what's what on the racks. There's no labels so it's almost like a box of chocolates. You won't know what you're gonna get! If you really want to know what it is, you ask the staffs there. The baked goods varies from savory to sweet fillings. You can get curry ground pork fillings in a round bun & deep fried. Croissants filled with cream cheese, with or without fruit & plain. Sponge cakes, dinner rolls plain or filled with pork sung & you can get one with an omelet wrapped around the outside. They have squared shaped bread, a display of sliced cakes. You can also order Celebration cakes besides from the pastries. They also make moon cakes when that time.comes around. This place is Cash Only so don't forget to stop by the ATM. Enjoy! read more

I used to like this place sooo much. But after the last twice experienced here I'll have to go else where! I was snapped at for not having right name to pick up a cake. I gave a name that I assume it was under, loud sigh and she asked what type of cake?, mango and strawberry. Grabs a paper and said Mandy? Ah yes that's me, so sorry guess my mom put it under me. Aiya, ask she hits the paper, next time you get right name, u make so hard if you don't ok? Ok? As she hits her paper a few more times! Sorry lady it was two sentence we exchanged in Chinese and your getting frustrated with me? Had this cake not been for my brother birthday I would of left and told her to stick it. My dad bought home the best wife cakes from here.. they're HUGE. Like the size of my face! It was so good that it had me going back for more the next day and I bought 3! I love taro! My sister gave me one of those taro pastries. YUM! It was a taro delicious bread on the outside and mashed up taro in the inside. I love that you know they use real taro. This bakery is super ghetto looking, but I love it! It's like JJ's in Arcadia, but cheaper! They make all the typical funky Asian concoctions like tuna danish, sushi bread rolls, red bean mochi buns. . .etc. They run about 20 cents cheaper per bun than JJ's. I grew up having Asian style cakes during birthday celebrations, so being able to find a bakery that is able to fully replicate the flavor, texture, cream-cake-fruit ratio, and nostalgia is heartwarming. It makes me feel more appreciative in having found this gem amongst dozens of Asians bakeries in the area. I have noticed that in other places, their cake selection can be very limiting in terms of sizing and flavors, as well as how expensive it can get. As such, I was very delighted to hear that their cakes are priced reasonably and affordably and that all of their cakes look fresh. I will most definitely come back in the future for birthday cakes for friends, family, and/or coworkers. Moreover, they offer a wide selection of the bread that they sell, which made it very hard for me to choose only a couple (2 long rows + 1 tall cart). Pricing for their breads is again extremely affordable, which will have me coming back for more. Usually, Little Swan is my go-to bakery, but I have been visiting them less and less since I saw an increase in their prices and their selection of breads is getting smaller and smaller (my past visits would be at different times of the day as well). Anyways, Domies Bakery is definitely a bakery that I can see easily replacing Little Swan as my one-stop shop to satisfy my carb cravings and my sweet tooth! read more

BEWARE!!!! They used to have 2 locations. I always went to the other bakery but it closed down. Never had a problem here. Went to this location. Will never NEVER come back here ever again. We made a reservation for their crispy cake, got there and the lady was like "what reservation?". We noticed a cake on the counter instead of the fidge. The lady looked in their fridge for a our cake then came back out and said there is no cake reserved. Then miraculously said "oh yeah this is your cake here" referring to the cake on the counter. She then kinda talked it up and said oh yeah we cut it bigger for you so you are getting a bonus. But moment before she was like "what cake?" We didn't think anything of it took the cake home and put it innthe fridge but when it came time for cake we all regretted it. This was for my brother's birthday. When we starting eating the cake people at our party said it tasted weird. Moments after a few of our guest started retching. We all stopped eating it and started looking into the cake. There was mold in all of the center where the crispy layer is. This is beyond criminal WHY THE F*CK would you sell someone a moldy birthday cake? This was really disappointing and embarrassing for a birthday party cake. This location should have been the one that closed down not the other one. I am not sure if it was an off day for them or what but they just lost a long time customer and I will be telling all my friends and family to stop going to this bakery. This is so sad and depressing. Wish I could give no stars but the one star I am giving is because I never had anything but outstanding service and experience at their other location that closed down. On our last few visits to Tin Tin Restaurant, we've been stopping by this bakery too. It's always busy which in my mind is a good thing because you know the breads are fresh if they're still on the racks. I wouldn't come here just for the breads. Only if we're already there for a meal at my husband's favorite Chinese restaurant. I don't speak the language and every gosh darn time, I've had someone behind me rudely call out to the workers and get their attention first. Came back here recently to pick up a small mango cake. After not having Asian cake in a while, it hit the spot! The cake was really small...I think 8" across. But still cost like $15 or so! But I only needed a cake with about 6 to 8 small slices. The cake is still light & fluffy! The frosting is light whipping cream. The fresh fruit perfectly compliments the cake. One odd thing that happened was the lady behind the counter told me to go pick one of the 8 inch round cakes. There were two next to each other that looked similar but were different sizes. The smaller cake also had messier mango slices. I asked the lady if they were the same, she said they were. But when I asked why they looked so different, she simply said that two different bakers have different ways of making the cakes & they were made by two different chefs. ?!?!?!?!?! read more

I have never been to the bakery itself, but my dad has bought many cakes from them. The cakes are always fresh and delicious! The sponge cakes are soft and the cream is fluffy and not too sweet. The taro filling is generous and plenty which my son and I appreciate and love!!! The fruit on top is always fresh, colorful, and beautiful. Their egg tarts taste delicious as well. I don't know if they make artistic specialty cakes but if they do, I'd definitely buy a two layer one for my daughter's first birthday. read more

Been coming here for many years for the cake, pastries, and cha siu bao. We love the cakes here, light, delicious, and not too sweet. The breads and pastries are fresh however they cut back on the fillings on my last batch of cha siu bao. Filling is just a third of the bao. Price has jump quite a bit here compared to other bakery in the area. Service needs improvement. read more

It finally happened, this place really screwed up. Been coming here for a long time. I've introduced their cakes and breads to my family. Their products are good when they are fresh in the morning usually. But for some strange reason on the day I went it was bad and stale. I got a mango cake and the cake was dry and the cream was hard. The issue that made me never wanting to come back was they scammed me out of their cake prices. I made a phone order for a 8 in cake, they quoted me 30$. Then when I went to pick it up they said they grabbed me a bigger cake and charged me when I said I didn't want it. I was confused what was going on and the lady who was helping me gave me a shrug and acted like it was my fault. Given the urgency of that day I needed a mango cake so I had no choice. I went from paying what was supposed to be 30$ and had to pay 162$. Let's just say my family didn't enjoy the cake and there was too much left over. I've convinced my family this place isn't the place to go to for cakes anymore. If you do come here make sure you order your cake in person and at least 4 hours before. Great pastry shop that has been servicing the San Gabriel Valley for many years. They have a great selection of pastries and cakes. You have to try their mango cake which is layered with slices of mango all around the outside. The breads are always fresh and very flavorful. Best of all, the prices are tough to beat. This is the best place to order durian cake! I ordered it two days ahead of time and it was ready for me right away! The durian was fresh and delicious and the cake wasn't overly sweet. It was perfect! My family loves coming here for the pastries too. If you know a durian lover, get them a cake from Domies for their birthday! The price is cheaper than most asian bakeries located around the area too. You can even ask for extra durian filling for an extra $5! The ladies working here were also very nice! Grew up on their mango cake. It's decent and usally makes a great impression on people that haven't had it. :P Came here recently to pick up chinese pastrys to bring into the office. I was suprised they were one of the few places in Monterey Park that was open at 7:30. Another location was open but they didn't have anything. I got here at 7:35 and they were rolling out the carts of fresh baked breads. Ended up with a massive box cause they kept bringing out more and more stuff. Items that were a hit at the office included: Rou Sung(dried shredded pork) Roll Cha Shu Xu (BBQ pork in flakey pastery) Taro Pastry - great taste, pretty purple flakey crust... super dense, recommend not eating the whole thing by yourself. Came by the other day to pick up some fresh bread. They have half loaves presliced for sale but the slices were to thin for what I wanted. I asked them if they had any that was not sliced and they were able to bring out a whole loaf from the back. Took it home and it smelled really good. Made great banana stuffed french toast. Service has always been very good for me. They day I was buying stuff for the office, I picked out way to much stuff. After they ran the bill, the counter lady noticed she had forgot to ring up a few items. She asked me if wanted to add it or just have them put it back. No pressure either way, so I appreciated it. The location is tucked away in a strip mall so it's easy to miss.
