I walked in and I was immediately able to choose whatever seat I wanted because it was not busy. The gentleman at the register was super nice and very helpful. He took his time and had patients as I looked over the menu and he explained which sushi cuts rolls were 50% off and the others that were 30% off. I I placed my order for the California roll and then placed my order for the Mongolian beef lunch special. My role came out first and it looked delicious. I thought I only wanted to have a couple slices but ended up eating all of it. By that time my lunch special had come out and I knew I was gonna take a couple bites and the rest was going to be to go. The Mongolian beef was hot and fresh. The meat was very tender and the sauce was flavorful. The rice on the roll and the rice with the Mongolian beef was delicious. It was cooked to perfection and just delicious!!! It was soft, fluffy, moist and just delicious. It was some of the best plain white rice I had eaten in a long time. I don't know their secret or how they do it but it was pretty damn good. There were several TVs that we're going and the one behind the sushi station had a movie. Other people came in and had to go orders and a couple sat and dined in. They ordered the Kong pow chicken with a medium spice and when their meal came out it looked delicious. I'm going to have to go back and try more lunch specials or grab something to go. The overall atmosphere of this establishment was very nice, clean, calm and welcoming. 07/16/2018 update.... always a food meal here and staffs friendly. They are very attentive!! Baked sal on roll was delicious!!!! 02/22/19 update .... always a good and consistent meal. The cream cheese wontons with a hint of water chestnuts is delicious!!! Tried them today and I'm hooked. I was full after eating 4 of them and my CA roll. Everything's packed with flavor. I ordered the lunch Mongolian Beef to go for dinner and the beefs always tender, well seasoned and the rice is a great consistency and fluffy. Simply irresistible . This restaurant is a prime example of "don't judge a book by its cover" family owned and operated. Sushi is fantastic quality and has amazing flavor. Service is great too. Sushi prices even better! Chinese food is great too. One of the best wonton soups I've ever had. My only complaint is that it's been a little messy in there. Tables are filled with bulk groceries and misc stuff and you can't even sit at the sushi bar from all the clutter. I can't complain about anything else. They just need some tidying up and it would be perfect. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the menu of Chinese food and sushi. Stopped by here on Sunday at 3. It is one of the few sushi places open for lunch that I could find in the area. Parked right on front, walked in and told we could sit anywhere we wanted. One other couple was there. The owner, I think, walked over immediately asking for drinks and was very polite. I ordered three rolls and some Miso soup. The soup was just ok, it had a different flavor than what I am used to. the sushi was fresh and good. Not the greatest I have had, but it was good. I stopped by Domo Kitchen for dinner after visiting a local car dealer, and I ordered the Garlic Salt and Spicy Wings, a Tekka Maki, and a Salmon Cut Roll all to be washed down with some hot green tea. First the wings, which were not particularly spicy, unless I piled on some of the chopped jalapenos and red pepper mixed that came a top the wings, but they were full of great flavor. They may of not had much heat, but they sure had a great spicy pepper, garlic, and salty flavor. The meat inside was piping hot, very moist, and tender. Simply put, they were very well prepared. 4 stars... The Tekka Maki roll was good. It came with a generous amount of tuna, which tasted good, but the roll was haphazardly put together. I appreciated the high tuna ratio to rice in the roll. 3 stars.. The Salmon Cut Roll could of been better. Not only was it even more haphazardly put together then the tuna roll, but the salmon was not very flavorful. It did not provide that rich oily buttery texture and tasted flat. 2 stars.. The hot green tea was typical and good. Service was decent and friendly. Using the law of averages, I am going to settle for three even stars. I recently started working in this area and of course I needed to start scoping out some places for lunch. Of course I yelped around and came across Domo. Located in a really small and extremely tight strip mall, it's one of the many places to eat in this corner lot. Parking here is insanity! You have to be fast to react, as there are pedestrians, cars in, out, and parked making maneuvering and dining here extremely difficult. I've only done Togo orders and driven through when there is absolutely no parking. If you can get here before noon, it's highly recommended! Domo has the lunch time rush as you can see from my picture, there are at least 5 of us, waiting to order or picking up food. The hostess/owner is fast. Don't be offended by her abrupt and harsh manner. (Typically how Chinese owners run a business... They don't mess around! Reminiscent of my parents restaurant long ago... Lol) Anyways, don't get butt hurt. She's got orders to take and you know you don't want to wait for your order either so have your order ready! Have cash handy for a small lunch order. She'll only process credit card transactions over $10. I've tried a few things here... 1. Mongolian chicken (white onion only) over rice... Not spicy, Amazing! Get it! 2. Pot stickers (pork)...Almost like my mom's, needs more filing, but delicious! 3. Chicken karaage... Pass on these. Bland lil chicken tenders. Ordered the charger roll and the crunch roll and both were very meh. Not really a place I'd seek out for sushi but since it's across from work, I thought I'd give them a try. So happy to have found this restaurant. My husband said I wish we could find a good Chinese restaurant. I googled Chinese restaurant near Tierrasanta. Domo Kitchen came up, and it appeared there were so many good reviews. And WHAT? Sushi AND Chinese food? You would think the quality could not be there. Just the opposite! My husband enjoyed his Chinese food (Singapore curry noodles) while I enjoyed three delicious hand rolls. (Salmon skin, spicy tuna, and tempura shrimp.) We started with great wonton soup and the kind of appetizer noodles we like. Can't wait to go back and try some specialty rolls and Domo Kitchen Chinese specialties, as well as our old favorites of Mongolian beef and shrimp in lobster sauce. I must say that I was surprised by the quality and portion size of this place. I didn't have the highest expectations, but the Szechuan special with chicken, pork, shrimp and beef was really tasty. It wasn't spicy, but had a lot of flavor. I'm proud to report that the sauce wasn't overly cornstarchy either. I also had the sweet and sour pork. Unlike other versions I've tried, it wasn't tough or overcooked. There was also an ample amount of pineapple to go around. Table for one please, I came here and dined in on my lunch since I work in the area now. (And I'm socially awkward and try to avoid small talk in the breakroom.) The ladies were very sweet. I ordered the California hand roll ($3) and a beef teriyaki lunch bowl ($5.50). The roll was good, pretty basic. The beef bowl wasn't my thing. I'm more of a savory person and the sauce was on the sweeter side. One thing I love is sauce from my entrée to be all over my steamed rice, but the sauce was just too sweet I couldn't finish my rice and I looove rice. Which was a bummer.
