I took my niece to Domu as part of our ladies night gathering. We arrived just as they opened, so we were lucky to be seated immediately. The restaurant filled pretty quickly after opening. I enjoyed a lychee martini and the Vegan ramen dish with the spicy miso base. I added Thai chili for an additional spice. It was quite flavorful and tasty. We also shared the Domu Wings to start. The wings were great! They are breaded and tossed in a kimchi butter sauce, topped with sesame seeds. Service was pretty quick. Our server was pretty good. It's nice for a quick date night or social gathering with friends.
I love Domu, living in Orlando it's definitely a fan favorite! So when I saw they had one in Jacksonville I had to stop by! What a treat for the people here walked in, no wait and sat at the bar where you can also order food off of the menu unlike the Orlando market area! The wings were to die for just like always. I had the Ramen again, definitely the caliber of the demo in Orlando, but with a little bit more of a relaxed vibe.! I travel here for work, so it'll definitely be a stop to come to the wings came out so quickly the bartender was very attentive very impressed by the overall experience!
I had to bring my girlfriends here because one of them never had Domu wings before and I told her it's the best wings in town, of course wasn't a disappointment because the wings were so good, full of flavor and crisp. However, I feel like the grilled octopus appetizer was not worth it because it was serve in a small bowl; most of the stuff underneath were grilled potatoes covered in sauce; barely any octopus tentacle; what a a rip off! Not worth the money I spent there tonight.
Had this on my bookmark list. Came in at about 12:30pm on a Sunday it was busy but not overly busy. We sat down and waited for over 40min for our table of 6. People would come in and be seated before us. I was sort of annoyed. No check-in on our time until eye contact was made with the hostess and she said you'll be next in 5 or 10 minutes. Once seated we were left at the table for about 10 minutes then ice cold water was brought out and our order taken. Food took another 40min. Inside was freezing, music was LA club like, not my jam coming with my kids. Service was blah. No table service honestly it was like at that point it should have been self serve pay. $16.95 for a ramen was steep considering the bowls were small and broth was sparce, there were more noodles than broth. I may be back to try other food options but definitely no ramen because it didn't nail what I am used to. Ramen 3/10 Service 1/10 Wait 0/10 Noise level 2/10 Prices 2/10 (not enough broth to account for the noodles)
My second visit here. I only remember ordering the wings last time and they were delicious. This visit I got the Richie Rich. A creamy broth with the pork meat. It's a very hearty meal. Also got the Szechuan cucumbers as a side. Also delicious, mild heat. We arrived at opening which is 5 pm which we were the first to be seated. Our server was attentive at first but got distracted at the end. We had to call on her to get a carry out container and check.
I have always heard good things about DOMU and it lived up to the hype! There was basically no wait for a table for two, and the food came out fairly quickly once we ordered. I'm not a big fan of brothy noodles, so I ordered the New Japan Mazemen and ended up eating the whole thing! The portion size was a little small for the price, but the quality was amazing. It had a nice creamy sauce and tons of flavor, as well as mushrooms and pork throughout. The noodles were a great texture as well. We also got black sesame ice cream and it was super creamy. I loved that it was both savory and sweet, very well balanced flavor. The ambiance is nice, smaller than I expected but has a nice feel to it.
I liked the ambience and look of the inside of the restaurant. It was modern and contemporary with nice touches of greenery. The service was pretty slow when we went around 5:30 on a Monday. But the server was friendly and apologetic about it. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen with chashu, scallions and torched egg. It was good. I've had better in JAX. The portions are on the smaller side so I did finish it. I enjoyed it. I will probably not get the egg the torched style because it was too sweet for my liking. And the chashu was okay too, felt like just a piece of pork belly The only reason I would come back is to try the other things on the menu :) TLDR; great ambience, nice and friendly service, subpar ramen
Went there to celebrate birthday and the space is really cute but small. Service is extremely slow although the restaurant was not busy when we got there. Also the seating in the back is really close to the restroom so we kept hearing the doors opening / closing and you can smell the air fresher from the restroom at your seats. Took about 45 mins for all the food to come out, the food is great. We ordered wings and vegan ramen with spicy miso base. Wings are really crunchy, they feel like they were fried twice, we don't like too much breading on the wings so these were not our favorite. Vegan ramen is really flavorful and the spicy miso base goes so good with everything! The noodles are well cooked and the broth is flavorful but not overly salted like most of the ramen places. Would definitely order this again if we ever go back.
A definitive 5/5 for Domu - a terrific ramen spot! I am a big fan of the open kitchen concept that allows you to see the dishes being made and how the kitchen operates with exceeding efficiency. The overall atmosphere is not going to blow your socks away, but the contemporary vibe is clean and well-maintained. Our waiter was a joy and was a big help in assisting my table select our ramen orders. Our appetizers were the Domu wings and the Cheezus. The Cheezus was okay, but I only had a bite simply to try at the fervent insistence of my fellow diners. I don't like melty cheese so I'm probably more biased against dishes like the Cheezus. If you want melty cheese and bread with a super cheese pull, you'll likely be happy with this. The Domu wings are among the best wings I've ever had (albeit a different flavor profile from my favorite buffalo wings, so may not be a like-for-like comparison). They were crispy, bordering crunchy, with a fantastic kimchi butter glaze that was almost candied to the outer crust that made the wings all the more crispy with a perfect flavor balance. This is a must order if the wings accommodate your diet. Our expectations of the ramen heightened. It is safe to say the ramen exceeded those expectations. I ordered the Tokyo and it is a top 2 ramen without question. The broth was the tastiest I've had. My only gripe is that I wish there was more of it. I added fried garlic and green onion which greatly complemented the kikurage, menma, chicken and egg. The chicken - fried boneless and skinless chicken thigh - tasted good. That being said, for me that was the only ingredient that I felt could use some mild improvement. My chicken thigh was a tad dry. Outside of this, I ate a near-perfect ramen. The Tonkostu ramen was ordered by another diner and they thought it was very good, as well. Closing off our dinner was an order of the special black sesame-flavored ice cream. It was very smooth and tasted interesting, but in a good way. I probably wouldn't get a flavor like that again, but I think it's worth trying if it is comes back to the menu (their special flavor changes every week or every other week from what I remember). If you are big on ramen, I recommend giving Domu a try. Personally, it was some of the best ramen and wings I have had. Will definitely make an effort to visit again if I am back in the Jacksonville area.
I love Domu in Orlando, so I had to visit there in Jacksonville for my vacation. I took my hotel shuttle to get there, and I arrived around 7ish on a Friday. I didn't have a reservation, but was able to sit in the bar immediately. They had an old fashioned at the bar, which was strong and a bargain for only 10 dollars. I wished they had the Domu don, but it was only in Orlando. So I tried the fried chicken wing bowl (15 dollars) instead. The chicken was boneless and more popcorn chicken. It was very sweet and a bit too crispy for me, but still flavorful. There was cabbage for vegetable, and a soft boiled egg. They were more enjoyable. The rice was fine, but I did ask for chili oil to add some heat. Because the sauce was sweet, it almost felt like dessert. And of course, for dessert, I can't say no to ice cream. The flavor was Vietnamese coffee, which was pretty strong in flavor. For 5 dollars, it was a great price. The service was fast and friendly. Eating at the bar, you can converse with other patrons and the bartenders. The dining area is ample as well. The atmosphere looks a bit more casual than the Dr Phillips branch, but still nice. I am glad I tried the Domu in Jacksonville. While it isn't as upscale as the one in Dr Phillips, it is still nice. I will definitely eat here again when I visit Jacksonville. Overall: A-
Domu is a very cool spot! We came for lunch and it was packed! It seemed like there was only one server that day so the service was a little slow but understandable since it was swamped. The food did some out super quickly though! The wings were delicious and the ramen was my favorite! Also I loveeee that they had a hook for your purse - such a plus. Would love to try their brunch soon!

Their ramen is sweet! Why??? Please take the sweetness out of the noodles. There is no such thing as a sweet ramen. But restaurant is very nice and service was awesome too. It's only the sweetness of ramen ruined all my expectations. I should notice the sign says ドウム instead of ドーム. read more

Believe the hype! The wings are the bomb. Hot, crispy and saucey. I visited this spot on the Saturday before Hurricane Dorian came through. I was in the area and wanted to try something new. The Yelp reviews were good and I wanted wings. I waited forty-five minutes until they opened at 5:00pm . I wasn't the only one waiting so I knew it would be good. Once I got in, I was told the don't start seating people until 30 mins after opening. I was a bit disappointed but I was told I could sit at the bar while I waited. It was happy hour and they had a nice selection of $5 drinks so I ordered an Old Fashion. I also ordered the wings. They came out quick and hot! They aren't sweet but they do seem glazed. I also enjoyed the decor. This spot is nice. Get there early or be prepared for a wait. read more

DOMU is such a trendy ramen restaurant! The overall atmosphere is amazing and the staff is super friendly. When you first walk in you see the incredible bar are. You are then seated and they pour hot water over towels for fresh hot towels to clean your hands! Now onto the food. The DOMU Wings are the best wings I think I have ever had in my life.... so crispy, so crunchy, so freaking DELICIOUS. These are an absolute must. For my meal, I had the Richie Rich. This is, obviously, one of their most rich ramens, and boy was it so rich and tasty! The black garlic added incredible depth of flavor, the soft boiled egg was cooked seasoned so well, and the braised for belly was cooked to perfection. To end the night, I tried the weekly soft serve, which just so happened to be my favorite, matcha flavored!!! To top off the ice cream, they put Oreos right on top. 10/10 recommend checking out DOMU. Hopefully soon I can try their brunch and boba mimosas! read more
Let me just start by saying that I am not a ramen fan. I don't even like soup (I know it's different). BUT this place was amazing. It has made me a believer and now I will try other Ramen places just to compare. Try the rice bowls if you are not in the mood for noodles. Trust me you will not be disappointed. Domu is my favorite ramen spot in town and their wings are so good I almost never get a picture before they've been devoured! The ajitama brulee is the perfect add to any dish, I highly recommend. It has ~almost~ inspired me to purchase a blow torch but for the safety of everyone, I'll leave it to the professionals. Their drinks are outstanding and I highly recommend you make it there for happy hour when you'll get them at a great price (they're a little steep otherwise). Their wings are EVERYTHING! A friend from down south told us about Domu since they have a another location down south that he frequents. He raved about the wings and ordered each of us our own set. These wings were deliciously decadent to say the least! The flavor was sweet, umami and all things delicious. They're crispy but don't cut up the roof of your mouth. While I shamelessly ate an entire serving of these wings, my husband and I agreed we'd likely only order one set of wings and one bowl of ramen for the both of us because the wings alone were a lot and probably a days worth of calories! As for the ramen we had the Tokyo (I think), which was pretty good and one of their brothless ramens. The sauce on it was similar to an Alfredo sauce in my opinion and the poached egg was runnier than we'd go for but that's personal preference. It was still pretty good. All on all this was a pretty solid eatery. The ambiance was also really nice.. chill and trendy. I haven't come in the evenings but I could definitely see this being a nice bar to come to in the evenings for young professionals. read more

I've been twice and ordered the Curry Ramen both times (See below). I'm speechless. From their broth, the noodles, all the fixings, I'm seriously in noodle soup heaven!! I tried to take my husband here a few weekends ago and literally thinking I'm coming early (like 5:30PM) on a Saturday....yeah ummm the place was packed and it was over an hour wait! I just left there today for lunch and it was soooo good! Plus the atmosphere and the music, yep I'm rocking with them all the way! I hope I don't get stuck getting the same thing all the time. Oh their wings are good too!! But it's pricey, so be prepared. But I'm more than willing to pay it for some authentic ramen for real!! Asians value good ramen lol!! read more
So after the 3rd or 4th visit, I can really say that I like the place. First two visits were a little irritating due to the wait and how busy they are and the fact that they don't take reservations. I must mention that, even then, the service and accommodation were very good. They were/are just that new and popular that everybody and their mother wanted to come check them out. The place is beautiful in my opinion, the layout, the chic/modern décor and love the mural on the back wall. The vibe is cool and lively, a little bit trendy but not in a hurried kind of way. The bar is to the right, as you enter, and the host stand is to the left. The dining area is kinda small and if I'm not mistaken, they can only accommodate up to a group of 8 diners. The bar makes some really good cocktails and they do have a happy hour specials from 5PM-630PM and includes classics like Old Fashioned, Negroni plus DOMU's version of Daiquiri, Margarita (Wasabi Ginger) & Gimlet. So far, for the food, I have tried: DOMU Wings - *MUST TRY* - crispy, sweet, savory and delicious! Lobster Bun - not a fan of this one - cold lobster and for the price, tiny. Richie Rich, Tokyo, Curry, Miso, Black & Spicy Tonkotsu - ALL Good, my favorite is As I've mentioned already, the service and accommodation are very good and depending which server you get, it can even be excellent read more

Absolutely DELICIOUS! The ramen is so very tasty, and the wings are the best I've ever had. My husband and I have been here 3 times in a row lol and honestly it's perfect every time. I wish they were opened earlier. read more
--UPDATED-- Did lunch here twice after our first visit during dinner, and it did not disappoint! Sooo good! We ordered their Richie Rich ramen with chasu on the side and a Tokyo ramen for both lunch visits. Addicting! And their soft serve is great, too! We tried a super blue Cookie Monster (cookies and cream flavor) with Cookie Crisp topping and the other time we tried their matcha green tea. Waiting to try their vanilla honey flavor. I had a sriracha Bloody Mary and husband tried their Thai iced tea. Both were really good! Also picked up a T-shirt! :) Ramen Ramen Ramen Ramen! read more

This restaurant is so bomb I don't even know where to start. The atmosphere is very vibrant and the restaurant can be a little loud. But it is more of a loud buzzing. You can tell everyone is enjoying their time there. They have great creative drinks. My recommendation is the Lychee Martini. You HAVE to get the wings! They are amazing. I am sad whenever I don't have enough money to get a bowl of ramen and the wings. They are so crispy and perfectly sauced. It's amazing, don't skip out on them. For ramen my favorites are Richie Rich, Black Tonkotsu, and Spicy Tonkotsu (pretty spicy. I'd be careful if you aren't used to spice). I have pictures of things I haven't talked about but literally everything I've had there was delicious. Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong with a single item on their menu. You'd be wrong to skip the wings though! read more
Had been looking forward to trying DOMU for the longest time. When it first opened, the wait was too long and they didn't take reservations. Recently they now are open for lunch and since I swung by before noon, I was able to order immediately and take a seat before the lunch rush. I tried the Richie Rich Ramen with an order of wings and Thai Tea. It added up quickly and totaled about $27. (I added a tip.) The ramen and wings were recommended by others but I personally thought they were both on the salty side. (And I'm someone who loves salty food!) Perhaps I'm too used to traditional Japanese ramen and the whole fusion thing was throwing me off. Service was pretty good. I was greeted warmly when I walked in and my order was served quickly. The atmosphere and background music were cool with good vibes. I'll be back and will try something else from the menu. read more
DOMU! DOMU! We came for the ramen, BUT I'm glad there was a 45min wait.. We sat at the esthetically appealing designed bar that offered crafted cocktails && "plates" menu.. Appetizers. We tried 3 plates : 1. Tako : GRILLED octopus sliced thin, cooked perfectly tender. 2. Fingerling Bravas : Crisp Fingerling potatoes with a spicy sauce, the fried quinoa elevated the texture && experience. 3. DOMU wings : Are a must! Who could resist KFC? (Korean Fried Chicken) "coated with kimchi butter sauce." Delicious, would prefer more spice. The apps && drinks are the star of this place, the Ramen was a miss. Hail to the King of Ramen! This place is now in my top three places to go. That said, they have awesome fried chicken wings, which are for the ages. They come close to beating my mom's. :-) I thoroughly enjoyed the Richie Rich ramen. Good balance of seasoning and freshness. Loved the staff and presentation of the food. Men's restroom was very clean. I don't know if the small space is a big deal since I don't care about having large crowds of people. read more

The staff at this location are incredible, they handle themselves very well and self with situations in a very professional manner. While at this locations, some customers disobeyed the mask mandate, the staff handled the situation very well defusing the situation like a pro. This is by far my favorite restaurant ever, the food is astonishing and the service is on par with the quality of food. Just to drop a name, mike is the man, he knows his stuff and handles his staff like friends. read more

Very cute restaurant. I've gone twice and have enjoyed the vibe. I recently went for lunch hoping they had a special on food and drinks. Food was regularly prices and they only had beer and wine. My food and my husband's food was great. Came out fast and was fresh. This isn't the best ramen I've had but it satisfies my ramen craving. read more

I've been to Domu several times since their first grand opening for dinner and for lunch, and between there unique ramens, apps, and drinks it's always a great time! First, I would like to say their bar program is absolutely top notch! Domu has truly set themselves apart of most of Jacksonville when it comes to beautiful, well balanced craft cocktails. It's hard to come by restaurants in Jacksonville that put just as much passion into a bar program. While visiting Domu I HIGHLY recommend giving one of their craft cocktails a try, even if you do not know the ingredients, I promise they will not disappoint. Now onto the food! I would like to admit that there have been times the ramen has been lack luster for me and not my favorite traditional ramen, HOWEVER, this is the only ramen place in Jacksonville that has a huge variety of ramen broths. They truly cater to any type of broth/noodle/protein preference their clientele may want. Their ramen is still delicious, and I actually really appreciate the big wooden spoons they serve the ramen with. It really does help with the "slurping" of the noodles and broth, which is what ramen is all about! The wings are out of this world delicious, I often find myself craving their wings. The crunchiest Korean fired wings I've honestly ever had, not to mention the sweet buttery miso sauce they are tossed in is liquid gold. Trust me when I say the wings are a MUST, you will not be disappointed!! I've also tried their cheezus and the black truffle burrata. The cheezus is a sweet creamy and cheesy corn dish, it's very interesting but worth the try! Domu is a chill, very beautiful restaurant. My family was in town visiting and we had a hankering for some ramen. Perfect excuse to stop at DOMU in town center! The wait wasn't bad for a Saturday evening. We only had to wait about five minutes while a table was cleared for us. There is a bar area as well as outdoor seating. There is even a high top in the kitchen area where folks get to watch the chefs at work, from start to finish, whether it be creating the noodles fresh by hand or bringing it all together. There are also two community tables that are big enough to hold a large party or strangers to get to know each other (if seated at the same table). I personally just want a table to myself so I can enjoy my ramen in peace lol (no, I'm not anti-social!). Our server was Reena (I hope I spelled her name right, and yay I remembered her name! LOL) and she was great throughout the night. She asked if this was our first time and gave recommendations on the menu. I loved the cute little hot towels on the bamboo boat that expanded when Reena added hot water to them. It was pretty neat and also felt "fancy" lol. I ordered the lychee martini as my drink and got to try the other drinks my family members ordered (Enter the Dragon and violet beauregarde) The drinks were eye appealing and tasted as great as they looked. We ordered DOMU wings to share; OMG so delicious! Very crispy and wonderful flavor. I decided on the Richie Rich ramen and that was delicious as well; the broth was flavorful, the pork belly charsiu was tender and the noodles had great texture. If you had instant ramen before, you can definitely tell there is a big difference between packaged, instant ramen noodles and freshly made. All the other added ingredients in the Richie Rich blended well together with the noodles, charsiu and broth and I enjoyed it very much. We left with happy with full bellies. Will be back for sure when I want ramen, and definitely for those wings. Yum yum. :P read more
The ramen was delicious. Ordered a lot of add ins so the overall price was not realistic to "ramen standards". I LOVED the quick service lunch and the overall environment of the restaurant. Had the spicy tonkotsu and they forgot the spice bomb but quickly provided me a side. The wings were... aite. Cooked well but nothing that I would dream of again. Flavor of the ramen was well developed but I have definitely had much better and cleaner flavored broths. Overall taste is 8.5/10. They have an amazing space and bar so enjoy a good evening out. read more
Our new favorite spot! I loved everything about this restaurant... the food, the staff, the decor, etc! It's got a 90's vibe to it and I was in heaven the whole time we were there! The happy hour drinks definitely helped. When we first got there the host told us there was a 30 minute wait, but we were happy to wait at the bar. The gentleman working the bar was super friendly and fun. We started off with some apps and drinks there. I wish I could remember which apps and drinks we got... all I remember is that the drinks were stronggggg and that is quite alright we me! Hahaha. If I remember I'll come back and update my review. Our buzzer went off and we went to sit at the other bar seating next to the kitchen. I always appreciate restaurants that have visible kitchens, because you know they're clean and aren't hiding anything shady. It's also fun to watch the ramen go through the "ramen assembly line". I had a spicy curry ramen and my husband had a soy sauce chicken kind of ramen. It tasted like a Hawai'i favorite of ours which is called "shoyu(soy sauce) chicken". They were both so flavorful! We finished our meal with their chocolate soft serve ice cream. The ice cream was black and it will definitely color your mouth and teeth. Upon a coworkers suggestion we went here for lunch. The decor was Urban and hip. There were Connect Dour games at some tables in the front. The have indoor and outdoor seating. The crowd was steady. I ordered the wings. They brought out 6 large wings. The wings were perfect! They were crunchy and sticky. Absolutely amazing. I vowed that I would go back to try their Ramen. One of my favorite Noodle places I've been to. The menu has a wide variety of dishes from rice bowls to buns to noodle dishes. All of the staff is extremely personable and knowledgeable of the menu. It is always busy but the wait time isn't terribly long normally. Great quality food and the chefs are very accommodating with customizing your orders. Their drunk menu is crafty and fun. My favorite feature on the menu is their weekly changing ice cream flavor. Pricing is fair for the amount of food you get. I frequently dine at this restaurant and will continue to do so in the hopes they open many more locations. read more
