I love Domu, living in Orlando it's definitely a fan favorite! So when I saw they had one in Jacksonville I had to stop by! What a treat for the people here walked in, no wait and sat at the bar where you can also order food off of the menu unlike the Orlando market area! The wings were to die for just like always. I had the Ramen again, definitely the caliber of the demo in Orlando, but with a little bit more of a relaxed vibe.! I travel here for work, so it'll definitely be a stop to come to the wings came out so quickly the bartender was very attentive very impressed by the overall experience!
I had to bring my girlfriends here because one of them never had Domu wings before and I told her it's the best wings in town, of course wasn't a disappointment because the wings were so good, full of flavor and crisp. However, I feel like the grilled octopus appetizer was not worth it because it was serve in a small bowl; most of the stuff underneath were grilled potatoes covered in sauce; barely any octopus tentacle; what a a rip off! Not worth the money I spent there tonight.
Had this on my bookmark list. Came in at about 12:30pm on a Sunday it was busy but not overly busy. We sat down and waited for over 40min for our table of 6. People would come in and be seated before us. I was sort of annoyed. No check-in on our time until eye contact was made with the hostess and she said you'll be next in 5 or 10 minutes. Once seated we were left at the table for about 10 minutes then ice cold water was brought out and our order taken. Food took another 40min. Inside was freezing, music was LA club like, not my jam coming with my kids. Service was blah. No table service honestly it was like at that point it should have been self serve pay. $16.95 for a ramen was steep considering the bowls were small and broth was sparce, there were more noodles than broth. I may be back to try other food options but definitely no ramen because it didn't nail what I am used to. Ramen 3/10 Service 1/10 Wait 0/10 Noise level 2/10 Prices 2/10 (not enough broth to account for the noodles)
I have always heard good things about DOMU and it lived up to the hype! There was basically no wait for a table for two, and the food came out fairly quickly once we ordered. I'm not a big fan of brothy noodles, so I ordered the New Japan Mazemen and ended up eating the whole thing! The portion size was a little small for the price, but the quality was amazing. It had a nice creamy sauce and tons of flavor, as well as mushrooms and pork throughout. The noodles were a great texture as well. We also got black sesame ice cream and it was super creamy. I loved that it was both savory and sweet, very well balanced flavor. The ambiance is nice, smaller than I expected but has a nice feel to it.
My second visit here. I only remember ordering the wings last time and they were delicious. This visit I got the Richie Rich. A creamy broth with the pork meat. It's a very hearty meal. Also got the Szechuan cucumbers as a side. Also delicious, mild heat. We arrived at opening which is 5 pm which we were the first to be seated. Our server was attentive at first but got distracted at the end. We had to call on her to get a carry out container and check.
A definitive 5/5 for Domu - a terrific ramen spot! I am a big fan of the open kitchen concept that allows you to see the dishes being made and how the kitchen operates with exceeding efficiency. The overall atmosphere is not going to blow your socks away, but the contemporary vibe is clean and well-maintained. Our waiter was a joy and was a big help in assisting my table select our ramen orders. Our appetizers were the Domu wings and the Cheezus. The Cheezus was okay, but I only had a bite simply to try at the fervent insistence of my fellow diners. I don't like melty cheese so I'm probably more biased against dishes like the Cheezus. If you want melty cheese and bread with a super cheese pull, you'll likely be happy with this. The Domu wings are among the best wings I've ever had (albeit a different flavor profile from my favorite buffalo wings, so may not be a like-for-like comparison). They were crispy, bordering crunchy, with a fantastic kimchi butter glaze that was almost candied to the outer crust that made the wings all the more crispy with a perfect flavor balance. This is a must order if the wings accommodate your diet. Our expectations of the ramen heightened. It is safe to say the ramen exceeded those expectations. I ordered the Tokyo and it is a top 2 ramen without question. The broth was the tastiest I've had. My only gripe is that I wish there was more of it. I added fried garlic and green onion which greatly complemented the kikurage, menma, chicken and egg. The chicken - fried boneless and skinless chicken thigh - tasted good. That being said, for me that was the only ingredient that I felt could use some mild improvement. My chicken thigh was a tad dry. Outside of this, I ate a near-perfect ramen. The Tonkostu ramen was ordered by another diner and they thought it was very good, as well. Closing off our dinner was an order of the special black sesame-flavored ice cream. It was very smooth and tasted interesting, but in a good way. I probably wouldn't get a flavor like that again, but I think it's worth trying if it is comes back to the menu (their special flavor changes every week or every other week from what I remember). If you are big on ramen, I recommend giving Domu a try. Personally, it was some of the best ramen and wings I have had. Will definitely make an effort to visit again if I am back in the Jacksonville area.
I liked the ambience and look of the inside of the restaurant. It was modern and contemporary with nice touches of greenery. The service was pretty slow when we went around 5:30 on a Monday. But the server was friendly and apologetic about it. I had the Tonkatsu Ramen with chashu, scallions and torched egg. It was good. I've had better in JAX. The portions are on the smaller side so I did finish it. I enjoyed it. I will probably not get the egg the torched style because it was too sweet for my liking. And the chashu was okay too, felt like just a piece of pork belly The only reason I would come back is to try the other things on the menu :) TLDR; great ambience, nice and friendly service, subpar ramen
Went there to celebrate birthday and the space is really cute but small. Service is extremely slow although the restaurant was not busy when we got there. Also the seating in the back is really close to the restroom so we kept hearing the doors opening / closing and you can smell the air fresher from the restroom at your seats. Took about 45 mins for all the food to come out, the food is great. We ordered wings and vegan ramen with spicy miso base. Wings are really crunchy, they feel like they were fried twice, we don't like too much breading on the wings so these were not our favorite. Vegan ramen is really flavorful and the spicy miso base goes so good with everything! The noodles are well cooked and the broth is flavorful but not overly salted like most of the ramen places. Would definitely order this again if we ever go back.
I love Domu in Orlando, so I had to visit there in Jacksonville for my vacation. I took my hotel shuttle to get there, and I arrived around 7ish on a Friday. I didn't have a reservation, but was able to sit in the bar immediately. They had an old fashioned at the bar, which was strong and a bargain for only 10 dollars. I wished they had the Domu don, but it was only in Orlando. So I tried the fried chicken wing bowl (15 dollars) instead. The chicken was boneless and more popcorn chicken. It was very sweet and a bit too crispy for me, but still flavorful. There was cabbage for vegetable, and a soft boiled egg. They were more enjoyable. The rice was fine, but I did ask for chili oil to add some heat. Because the sauce was sweet, it almost felt like dessert. And of course, for dessert, I can't say no to ice cream. The flavor was Vietnamese coffee, which was pretty strong in flavor. For 5 dollars, it was a great price. The service was fast and friendly. Eating at the bar, you can converse with other patrons and the bartenders. The dining area is ample as well. The atmosphere looks a bit more casual than the Dr Phillips branch, but still nice. I am glad I tried the Domu in Jacksonville. While it isn't as upscale as the one in Dr Phillips, it is still nice. I will definitely eat here again when I visit Jacksonville. Overall: A-
Domu is a very cool spot! We came for lunch and it was packed! It seemed like there was only one server that day so the service was a little slow but understandable since it was swamped. The food did some out super quickly though! The wings were delicious and the ramen was my favorite! Also I loveeee that they had a hook for your purse - such a plus. Would love to try their brunch soon!

This was our first time here. We ordered the Domu Wings for an appetizer. I loved it! My hubby isn't a fan of breaded chicken wings but he liked the flavor. I got the black Tonkutsu, which was unfortunately disappointing & was not flavorful. Hubby had the Spicy Tonkutsu, which was DELICIOUS!!! Service was awesome. Our waitress was super nice, helpful & friendly. I love the decor. Great ambience. read more

Went to Domu with a friend for drinks and wing's before the movie we were seeing. It was her first time there and she loved it. The wings were amazing and the drinks were really good. Both of these are off the whim drinks ... but the lady did an incredible job! Thank you for such great service Domu. read more
Yummy! Friends suggested for brunch. Ramen isn't typically what I think of as "brunch" but they said they love the place so give it a try. They have a limited menu for brunch but our waitress said they are updating it soon with some extra items. We had the wings and the sauce was sweet and overall pretty tasty. The ramen was very good. The broth was very rich in flavor, but of spice but could have been spicier. The pork belly was very tender and the egg was delicious. The noodles are made in house and we're very good. You get ice cream for free, we did have to ask about it. It was called Cookie Monster. It was blue and tasted like Oreos!! read more

The food is so so good. My go to is always the yuzus ramen because i like the chicken and the zestier broth. My boyfriend has tried a new ramen every time we go, he's a big foodie, and he's loved the richie rich, the broth less ramen, and the spicier one on the menu. We always get the domu wings as an appt, however i don't have any pictures. They make they're own sauce which is like stc but not super spicy. We enjoy sitting in the dine in, but when it's just us we tend to sit bar side which is place orders at the bar service. Everyone is super chill, great environment with music and plants. Can get a little loud on weekend nights but not too bad. Good for lunch, night out, or just wanting some good takeout. read more
I came here with my husband to grab some dinner before going shopping. I've been to one of Domu's Orlando locations and I definitely like this one better. It's more open and has ample seating. We sat at the bar and both of the bartenders were great! Things got a bit busy during the dinner rush, but the two ladies kept their cool and put a lot of effort into handcrafting each drink. Their winter drink menu has a wide variety of options. I went with the Daphne Bloom- it was fruity yet smokey and the flavors perfectly complimented each other. My husband ordered the Bacon Of and he loved it! I tried a sip and it was not for me; I would definitely recommend it if you are a major fan of bacon though. For dinner, I ordered the Richie Rich. First time at a ramen restaurant. I came just as Domu was opening which sometimes is the right time. No crowds or Hussle and bussle. A host was at the door to greet me. I was headed to the bar but I opted for my private table. I felt regal this morning. The Richie Rich authentically tasty. My sake was Luke warm not a good look for a first timer. Everything else was on point. It is great to be Yelp elite! Lastly, the ambiance took you to a different place outside the the glitz and glamour of the town center. Kudos to Domu for allowing us to take a look and explore Ramen. The only Ramen I have ever had is in Walmart? Why Domu offers a dining experience. read more

I love Domu. I come here often and have always had a great experience. From the food, to the service, to the aesthetics. My go-to is either the tuna don if I'm feeling rice, the New Japan Mazemen for a no-broth ramen dish, or the curry ramen! The bar here is also very welcoming and they have some creative and yummy cocktails! I came here Saturday night to just hang out at the bar and grab some drinks with friends (we got the Ong-Lai and Daphne Bloom), and was helped by Rue and EJ. They were so friendly, helpful, and quick! It was such a great experience as always! read more

EJ at the bar was supremely disrespectful to me and my partner going as far as banning us and being loud in front of patrons. He was supposed to be the manager and yet he spent more time at the end of the bar gossiping and flirting with females rather than helping us. The glass was dirty and had lipstick which we know is a health hazard. No apology by the way. Good food is not worth this. Avoid! We know how the restaurant industry has taken advantage of us and the 'tip me' culture. Only one at the bar that deserves tips is Austin who stepped up for his manager who dropped the ball. read more

Standing ovation! BRAVO! Listen I haven't been back in a few months.. but they have won a place in my heart again! Today we had brunch, I had the delightful chicken win bowl, they are boneless covered in this magical sauce that's a bit sweet but not overly sweet, I ordered a side of the brûlées eggs, listen that's not the real name it's a semi soft boiled egg that's not hot or cold and they torch it with sugar or something sweet and let me tell you, I closed my eyes and ate in complete silent, I didn't want anyone getting in the way of my savoring experience of this magical little egg! It was so good I ordered another one. We also enjoyed a chicken sandwich that was coated in this flavorful buttery sauce with some thinly sliced cucumber slices. Brunch here is simply divine, surprisingly it wasn't packed and we sat and received our food in very quick time. We are returning next weekend and bringing my parents, we are planning on just ordering for them! So so so good! read more
We finally stopped at Domu Ramen after driving by so many times, so glad we did. We tried their pigs in a blanket bun outstanding taste, then followed up with their glazed wings they were seasoned with just the right amount of heat and sweetness. Finally, there ramen, had there spicy pork Ramen and there chicken Ramen the spicy pork Ramen had just the right amount of heat and both had some great tasting broths. So yummy. Such a cute spot and my server was so polite. I think her name was Payton. I got the richy rich ramen , unfortunately they were out of the usual broth that they use so I just had the pork broth with black garlic oil. Still so delicious. Added extra boiled egg and some corn. They had lots of yummy sounding cocktails to choose from I got the rocket pop which had gin and really did taste similar to a rocket pop! I also got a spicy tequila cocktail with passion fruit , I don't remember what it was called but both drinks I got was on their limited time summer menu. For dessert I got their taro ice cream. Still the best ramen shop in Jax. Wings, ramen, and drinks all excellent. Build your own ramen on Mondays starting at 5pm is still my favorite. Recently discovered the Krabby Patty roll (soft shell crab) and it was amazing. read more

Domu is fantastic! We have been about 5 times now and it never disappoints, service is always great the ramen is so good and the wings as an appetizer are the best wings ever! It's a great vibe inside too we recently have enjoyed sitting at the bar as opposed to a table , it was nice! read more
I like DOMU but, honestly, DOMU is probably not the best place for a date. Only because the tables in the dining room are so close together and small. It's impossible not to hear the next tables' conversations and a little too intimate for dining next to a stranger. Now, their food is pretty good! DOMU is one of the very few ramen places that take the time to make their own noodles and their broths are flavorful. Their portions are on the larger side and I can never finish my bowl of ramen. I tend to stick with the traditional and ever so popular tonkatsu when I go to ramen places because you can tell a lot about a ramen place by their tonkatsu. I love the tonkatsu at DOMU. The last time we were there, we ordered the Richie Rich and the Curry in medium. Both were delicious and the medium wasn't that spicy for a medium. We also had the DOMU wings in the seasonal flavor (yuzu citrus pepper) which was pretty good. The service is okay. The server we had the last we were here seemed a little preoccupied and it took a long time for the food to arrive. When it finally arrived to the table, there was a little mishap with my bowl where the noodles were a little undercooked and clumpy. When I shared this with the server, he immediately took it away and had another bowl made correctly... unfortunately, that also took a while and the other person I was with finished their bowl by the time I even received my corrected meal. Overall, it's a pretty good ramen place... not a good date place though. Maybe get take-out? read more

I wanted some ramen while working in Jacksonville, FL. This place looked really good and had great reviews. So here I am... There was no wait when I arrived but I opted to sit at the bar. They do not have menus so I scanned the QR code. The menu did not have many appetizers. I ordered the fingerling bravas. It was really tasty. The quinoa gave it a nice crunch to the fried potatoes and the spice gave it a nice touch. I love the cooling of the sour cream to tone down the spice. The yuzu chicken ramen was okay. The ramen was delicious and the soup was very refreshing with a hint of tang from the yuzu. The chicken was marinated and fried with no coating, so the chicken was dry. It also had a very strong flavor which I was not a fan of. They did a great job with the soft boiled egg. The bartenders were really nice and explained the menu. They often checked on me to make sure I didn't need anything else. read more

It was my first time here but boy...what a struggle. I came here on 12/21/2021 for dinner since they close at 10 PM. But they told me they close at 9 PM because they were short staffed. So I returned for dinner on 12/26 but was told they were out of pork belly and boiled egg. The egg is essential to ramen. But they do substitute for another vegetable. I ended up getting the Tokyo ramen which has chicken. I sat at the bar in front of the open kitchen. The waiter accidentally gave my order to the guy sitting next to me even though he came 30 minutes after me. So I ended up waiting longer for my order. Tokyo ramen was good. Not thick broth which I normally don't like. The ramen noodle was a bit odd..I don't know how to describe. It doesn't taste like authentic Japanese ramen. Maybe it was too al dente. On a positive note: they do give you a small complimentary sample size of ice cream. It happened to be green tea matcha which tasted pretty good. Overall it doesn't seem like we were meant to be given I experienced a lot of hiccups at this place. Won't be back. read more
I freaking love this place! It took me a long time to visit here because I truly needed to wait for the weather to cool down a little before eating ramen. I've visited a few times for dine in, happy hour, and takeout, and I'm a big fan! They don't take reservations, so I recommend going early if possible. Their specialty cocktails are amazing and the bartenders are all great. My favorite menu items are the spicy vegan ramen: tomato + shiitake broth, menma, scallions, kikurage, torched tomato, fried tofu, Japanese spices, lime zest. However I was super disappointed on my last take out order to see how much smaller the portion size was. I even paid extra for extra mushrooms, but there were just a few along with only 3 small cubes of tofu. The portion when you dine in is much larger. Either way, this is the most flavorful ramen broth ever, and it's vegan! I am obsessed. The noodles are so good and chewy. This whole dish is just perfect. Also don't miss the tako (grilled octopus)! It literally melts in your mouth. I loved it! Next time I will ask for no mayo, just personal preference. My boyfriend loves the yuzu chicken ramen and the tokyo ramen. We also enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee soft serve. This is definitely one of my new favorite spots in Jacksonville. It is located in the Town Center and there is a large parking lot. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and the bar is also very comfortable. Five stars! read more
My, my, my-- what a treat! I loved every minute at DOMU. The drinks were terrific and the food is top notch! Hubs and I stopped in for happy hour (first timers), ordered as much as we could handle and enjoyed it all! the Cheezuz, pigs-in-a-blanket, black tonkotsu ramen, the wings... all soooo very good! Of the happy hour cocktails, the wasabi ginger and the old fashioned were our favorites. Great house music to boot! Overall, we came, we saw, we loved it! Be back soon. read more

By far one of my favorite ramen spots in Jacksonville, FL. DOMU has an electric atmosphere with great food and great service. However, you might want to put your name on the list and go shopping at the local stores in town center if you want to eat here, as they have a pretty big waiting list. My girlfriend and I started off our meal with DOMU's Wings which had the perfect crunch and moist meat in the middle. The kimchi butter sauce they toss it in was finger-licking good and did not disappoint. Moreover, my girlfriend had the Tokyo ramen bowl as I had the Curry ramen. Her shoyu chicken broth was packed with flavor as it blended really well with the infused duck fat and garlic scallion confit. The curry ramen caught my eye as I've never really seen a curry style ramen bowl at a ramen restaurant before. It was very delicious as I thought it was perfectly balanced in spices. I thought that the Thai basil and the Japanese Beech Mushrooms Complimented the dish very well. The star of the show definitely had to be the noodles. They weren't too thin and weren't too thick, and finding out later that they are made from scratch just makes it 10x better. At the end of the meal, the server will give you a sample of their ice cream that they make from scratch. Ours was taro ice cream, which is kind of like a sweet potato. It's a root vegetable that has a lightly sweet nutty flavor that honestly blew my mind when I tried it. Overall, definitely a must try if you're in the area. read more

Domu has always been a go to for me for their small plates/apps and the amazing drinks! Their new drink menu is so amazing and the "Be more Pacific" is a wonderful mix of sweet and spicy, the flavors combined definitely gave me that wow factor! Don't forget to start your day or evening with a green tea shot, you won't be disappointed. The small plate menu is full of amazing flavors, things I never would've thought of! My favorite apps are the shishito peppers and the cheezus which is corn off the cob with Mayo, a lot of mozzarella, spices, scallions and lime all baked and served in a skillet with a baguette on the side! Make sure to ask for my favorite bartender Justin when you arrive. If he's not there, the others are amazing as well. read more

Have been here many times over the last few years and it was great until it wasn't the last few times. I always get a margarita because one of our favorite bartenders made a great one and it's always been tasty. Tonight my husband orders me a Don Julio margarita to which he's told they don't have so she suggests something else that is similar. We get our wings less than 2 minutes after ordering and they were obviously leftovers reheated and tasted like it, the cheezus was just ok so we decide we'll go somewhere else for dinner. We go to pay and the bartender "upgraded" my margarita to clasé azul with no mention that it was $36! Like are you kidding me? Both of us being in the industry a) would never serve someone that price of drink without disclosing it and b) tell someone you'll serve something similar to Don Julio ....and pour azul. This was a great place when it opened but after the leftover food and scam upgrade tonight we will never be back. $80 for two apps and two cocktails. Hopefully the manager sees the note we left on the receipt. We eat out frequently, are not cheap people, but this was just absolutely moronic and a bartender trying to bump up her tip, which didn't work we tipped based on what the drink should've cost based on what we ordered. If ya didn't know, DOMU makes their noodles in house. That for me is enough to keep me coming back for a bowl of ramen. The Richie rich is my go to. Broth has been simmering for forever and you can tell with the depth of flavors in each bite. Make sure to order the kimchi butter chicken wings. You might want to place another order. They are super crunchy and that sauce will make you want to lick your fingers --or maybe even the plate. read more

Best Ramen I've ever had!!!! I've had ramen from all over the world and this is by far the best I've ever had. The flavor of the broth was sooo good! We came in shortly after opening and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the wings and potatoes as an app. They both were so good. I wish they both had a little more spice to them, but still good. We ordered the Tokyo and creamy spicy miso ramen. Also, ordered a kids noodle and broth for my son. We ate all of our food! I also ordered the lychee martini. If I had to complain, it would be about the cocktail. It tasted more like lychee juice vs a well made cocktail. Not worth the price! Will defiantly be back for the food! read more

Amazing pho but pricey for Asian food. It's definitely hyped up and almost too popular in Jax. So, we waited 45 mins for a table one night and it probably took our server another 10/15 mins to come greet us or start our order. We also looked at the happy hour menu but was given the run around when we got there so not sure if they're still doing happy hour or not... Anyway, multiple negatives from one visit but great tasting pho and cool urban atmosphere for being in Jacksonville. read more
Love Domu!! Though the prices are a slightly steeper, the chicken wings, ramen, and drinks are so yummy. The thai tea comes in a little teddy bear jar which is so cute and not super sweet! I got the curry ramen which was the perfect portion size as I typically struggle to finish my ramen. The restaurant size is a bit small so I would anticipate a slight wait. They don't take reservations, so take that into account for when you arrive! read more

Such a good experience!! We came around 1pm so the wait was less than ~5 minutes. We took that time to look over the menu and decide on what we wanted to order. :) My friend got the Tokyo ramen and I got the Black Tonkatsu. It was sooo good! Flavors were there without being overpowering. Texture of the noodles and meat was perfect -- not too overcooked or soggy. We also decided to get some Thai tea, and I can honestly say it tasted great! I dont normally get Thai tea because I find it to be a little too sweet, but that wasn't the case here at all. The tea was brewed nice and strong, and the cream tasted great. Plus, it came in a cute little bear glass! To top it all off, at the end of our meal, our waiter gave us a complimentary taro ice cream!! We weren't expecting that at all -- such a nice gesture. We'll definitely be coming back again. read more
