Since my friend is now vegan, thought it would be a great idea to try this vegan soft serve dessert stand after eating at the food court. I always get lost at the source, so took us awhile to get here. The dessert stand in on the 2nd floor towards the back of the floor. We both ordered the strawberry swirl on a cone. The soft serve is extremely soft, so they put a note on the window letting customers know they should not tilt the soft serve...which makes me think they experienced a handful of soft serves accidentally dropping to the ground. The soft serve was not as sweet as I had hoped, but for a planet-based ice cream I would say it's worth a try. I also wished the soft serve wasn't so soft as it started to drip quickly. The one odd thing, unrelated to the store was that there was a group of people which young children smoking right at the stand. I could not stand the smell of the smoke so we had to jump up to get out of there. All in all, would not mind coming back to try some other ice cream flavors or a dessert item from here. read more

We had poor service, below mediocre flavors for waffles and ice cream was, ofc, not at all like the advertised. They don't make it as long as the pictures. We were excited to get them after seeing them in some Korean tourists pictures, but here, it's way shorter and there is no way for us to know if their ice cream can even stand that tall. Maybe it falls so they are not making it long at all, despite the ads. The lady who serviced me was very kind and I don't know if she did this on purpose or not, but she did not charge me extra for the oat milk, but I really enjoyed this coffee. You could tell that she takes her work very seriously and I would definitely return because of the hospitality she extended. Soft serve looks better on the menu than it tastes. When I went, they had 2 flavors only and you can chose between cup or cone. Strawberry, vanilla or swirl. I'm a big fan of croffles (which is basically croissant waffle) and was excited to see these on the menu! We tried one of each croffle flavor: matcha, tiramisu, strawberry, and injeomi. I usually love anything strawberry and matcha but surprisingly, my favorite was the tiramisu which was very yummy! I actually liked the strawberry croffle the least of the 4 flavors because it tasted very plain, and overall felt like it was missing something. The cream they use here is similar to whipping cream so it melts fairly fast, definitely recommend eating this asap! Their giant ice cream cones are made out of sweet potatoes, so this is excellent for lactose intolerant people. Unfortunately, the ice cream was way too sweet, even though we added a shot of Matcha for their affogato style. I loved their smashed watermelon slushy: refreshing and just the right amount of sugar. My friends love their mini croffles (croissant waffles) injeolmi flavor was better than whip cream and strawberry. They should use custard instead of airy whip cream. Service is quick and effective. The kroffles were very rather hard and tasted like they were made in the beginning of the day and had been sitting out. There was also very little differentiation between the flavors. The strawberry tastes artificial (like strawberry pocky, so if you're into that, then by all means) and the vanilla doesn't taste like much. Note that since it is plant based, the soft serve was more icy than creamy. I came on a Friday afternoon and they were not busy at all. Service was quick even though I only saw one worker. The staff working the cash register were friendly, as well as helpful when I asked them questions about service hours and recommendations. Don Melt is located at The Source on the first floor. It is across from Basilur. What I enjoy about Don Melt is that it is dairy-free. They have a pretty simple menu for their soft serve. They offer only strawberry, vanilla, or a mix of strawberry and vanilla. I got their mix of strawberry and vanilla and was impressed. We got it in a cone and it was a very large serving which is totally shareable with another person. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and the consistency was not watery at all. It held its shape very well. If you are looking for super creamy soft serve then this is not it. However it is very good and the flavor is nice. You can add toppings to your soft serve for an additional $1 but we choose to get it by itself. It was very satisfying. Besides just plain soft serve they are also know for their croffle that is done with different fruits and flavors and topped off with their soft serve. They also have drinks (teas and coffees) and affogato. Their affogato can be made with coffee or with matcha. I want to go back and try it with their matcha. The service was very quick. The spot is more like a little stand with no inside sitting. It's just outside sitting but they have some tables and chairs for you to sit out and enjoy your treat. They even have music. It was a simple waffle, served cold, with gobs of whipped cream slathered on the top and a few blueberries sprinkled here and there. I thought a croffle would have a croissant texture but this seemed to be just a regular waffle with a slightly softer, chewier inside. It was okay for what it was but I was underwhelmed. Got ice cream plus some blended coffee and a waffle thing that my wife and I split. It's a small shack with a walk up window. Seating is all outdoors. A couple tables and some chairs to sit about a dozen or so people. Overall, it hit the spot. Definitely photogenic presentation. Could it have been better? Prolly if it were dairy based. JK, not kidding. Okay maybe if it were dairy based LOL Also maybe if it were a dollar or two less per item. Would I come back? Not directly but maybe if I was already at the source and my wife wanted some again. There's a ton of dessert places in the Source, but Don Melt caught my eye especially because I've really been wanting to try both croffles and ades. They're both very trendy Korean desserts, and I've been seeing them everywhere. I was definitely not disappointed. I got a small tiramisu croffle, which has whipped cream, cocoa powder, chocolate curls, and chocolate syrup. Despite the variety of toppings, it actually wasn't too sweet. The croffle itself paired really well with all the toppings, especially the whipped cream. I have to say, I wish I ordered the larger size because I found myself wanting more after finishing mine within a few minutes. (I also forgot to take photos because I wanted to try everything as soon as I got it). I also ordered the green grape ade, and it was even better than I expected. It has actual green grape puree, along with sparkling water and green grape concentrate for a simple but delicious combination. I liked that it wasn't too sweet nor too heavy, and the sparkling water made it so refreshing on the hot summer day. They have so many other menu items that I'm looking forward to trying, especially the apple cinnamon croffle or the matcha. The watermelon slush also sounds delicious, and they have both blended drinks and ades. For a more traditional option, they also have a full coffee bar, and my friend ordered an iced coffee that was very well made. One of their most popular items is the ice cream, which a lot of people around me were ordering. It's soft serve that comes stacked in a cone, except there's two or three times as much ice cream than a normal cone. If you're an ice cream lover or want to split something, it would be an excellent choice (I have to admit I plan to order it particularly because of how aesthetically pleasing it is). Overall, Don Melt is now one of my favorite dessert places, and my favorite within the Source (not a decision i take lightly). It's a total hidden gem, tucked away in a corner near Mobile Land and Little Light. Be sure to check it out next time you're looking for a good unique dessert place in the Source! read more
