Our server must've had several tables because we didn't see him very often. We started ordering drinks two at a time because we wouldn't see him for 20 to 30 minutes. The entertainment consisted of two women dressed up like disco balls and another person dressed up in a disco ball suit. They would walk around and dance. It was cool, but I kind of thought from the advertisement that there would be more. At the end, we waited for like 15-20 minutes to get our check and finally asked another server to get it for us. He told our waiter. We got our check and we all had 23% gratuity automatically attached to it. I wasn't aware that it would be 23% and had we had an attentive waiter, that probably would've been OK. I love La Brasa's ambience, but I feel like for those events they need more bartenders and/or servers. Peruvian arroz (like a Spanish paella or Asian stir-fry) with peas, red bell, tender calamari, clams, and mussels had bright flavors and a slow, warming heat. On the other side, generous portions of fresh white fish ceviche in a citrus coconut broth topped with toasted corn nuts and purple onion (texturally complex, flavors exciting for Midwest palates) was exceptional.
