During the day, parking can be quite challenging due to limited spaces, but as the night falls, the parking situation tends to improve, allowing for a smoother shopping experience. One of the staples I get when shopping at Don Quijote is the poke and the sushi. They also have some discounts that take place in the evenings. They also have a good selection of meats, which are great for our yakiniku nights. I also love the ramen they sell, which is so cheap, and tastes just like you went to Noods Ramen. They also have a pretty good selection of alcohol. From traditional sake and soju to a variety of Asian beers, my favorite is Hitachino. The store caters to the discerning taste buds of alcohol enthusiasts. I first became aware of Don Quijote several months prior to our visit to Oahu, having heard that it is a place where one can find virtually anything, ranging from exquisite Japanese cuisine and souvenirs to Gundam model kits. The parking area can be quite chaotic, with numerous vehicles competing for the limited spaces available. Along the front of the building, several food stalls provide ample covered seating for patrons. Upon entering the store, one is immediately struck by the vast assortment of items available. Shelves filled with clothing, food, and household goods greet visitors. As I navigated down the first aisle, I encountered the section I had been eagerly anticipating: the impressively stocked Gundam and model area, prominently featuring a six-foot tall replica of the iconic Gundam RX-78-2. This alone made the visit worthwhile. I spent at least twenty minutes exploring the extensive selection before deciding on a kit. Subsequently, I discovered the Japanese food section, which surpassed even the model area in its impressiveness. It boasted a wide variety of poke and cold dishes, along with rows of coolers filled with an endless array of sushi, sashimi, and other seafood options. Additionally, there was a booth offering freshly made onigiri in numerous flavors. Don Quijote is a distinctive store with an abundance of offerings. My friend purchased 3 box of masks here..she put 1 box at home, 1 box in her car, 1 box in her bag. Couple days later she went shopping again, when she ready to check out, the alarm ringed, the staff there took her as thief and treated her very rude. She is NOT thief, she didn't steal anything, just because she put the mask which she purchased couple days ago in her bag , the staff of the supermarket treated her as thief...it's totally the super marker's system loophole, it's totally the supermarket's fault. Don Quijote owes my friends apologize, yes she can not provide receipt because nobody keeps all the receipts but the supermarket shouldn't treat customer as thief without any evidence without checking CCTV. Just be careful with this rude and stupid supermarket. They are really rude! read more

STheir new way of preventing theft is discrimination. They target single males during the day who carry the medium shopping bag and ask them to put it by their lockers. They don't ask the old japanese ladies who carry a purse and shopping bags filled with food. Their leader is short stocky portugeseguard who thinks he is a hpd wannabe and the accomplice is is japanese tall guy. The problem is the managment does not gives them direction. they do what they want harassing people. At foodland Liliha the guards with the grey shirts micronesian were doing that and I complained to Market city office. These guards have no training like the old hpd retired security. It's like the managment of DQ is allowing the monkeys run the zoo when they should control it. Maybe call them the goon squad. read more

Poor customer service and no response from store manager. At checkout while printing my receipt (which you need to leave the store) the register shut down. I stood there for 40 minutes while the cashier and two managers walked back and forth w/o explanation. Then they finally pulled the unfinished receipt out and said I could leave. I asked what if I need to return something. Rosa gave me a look and took me to the customer service desk and there she told me after 40 minutes of waiting she'd have to credit me an re-ring my items. I gave her name and number and told her to have the store manager call me. Now more than a day later no call...nothing. Thoroughly disappointing! I been shopping here 30 years. This review is for the 2 older Asian women , local Japanese, one cashier and other bagger working 7/7 at 6pm at the far right end near cosmetic store. These 2 women if didn't feel like working should stay home. An elder woman dropped her rice balls and wanted to look for trash box. Instead of showing where it is, they both "Thea! Ova dea! Around corner!" Frick....do we all know the trash box is??? One, she was embarrassed... two, instead of quietly showing where , they both raised their voice to be heard. ... Wow, I gotta say what a rip-off this place is. I was shopping for that hearing device that I saw on TV and it was priced at $25. It's a good thing I didn't buy it because I found it on Amazon for only five bucks for two. I bought it for a relative who has a hearing problem. To make a story short, he didn't use it much because he said it didn't do much for him. I tried it out myself as I got two of them and found them to be cheaply made. They were obviously the same as the one I saw at Don Quijote's. Well, at least I lost only a couple bucks instead of twenty-five dollars. read more

This place has a great selection of poke. Their version of California avocado poke is off the hook! They also have a bunch of lau lau. I bought all (10) hot lau laus they had in the deli and they immediately refilled their lau lau tray as I was checking out. Impressive operation they have there, plus the store has a fantastic selection of local fair. They have a great liquor department also. I think its the biggest liquor department and selection I've seen in Honolulu. Thank goodness they have an extra parking garage across the street. They need it. read more

Tell me why TIMES RAIN CHECK isn't valid at don quijote store's or don quijote rain check isn't valid at times supermarket stores . Since they are the same company or sister stores don't have to be valid at either store . Ok I only have one problem here and they should work on it. If you want to return any electronic products you have to go thru the elect dept first and after they approve then you go to the customer service and both places they ask too many questions. I love the service at the Wal mart, because it is very quick and barely ask any question. At don Quijote, it takes long time to go thru this processing if they are busy. They should just make it at one stop not two. read more

I purchased an item in the electronic department and when before 2 months was not working anymore I took it back shortly after that. I wanted to exchanged for the same item and was told NOT exchange or refund after 2 months. They told me I pass the exchange policy of 2 months for 2 days. I have the box and the receipt. They say sorry, but not. So be very aware if you purchase anything there. I'll never buy at Don Quijote any longer electronics. read more

I generally like this market, however they always adverrtise items and then they don't have as advertised especially on meats sale items. Example: I needed a pork roast and saw boneless pork on sale in the weekly ad. When I go there there were No roasts at all anything like what their add said. I'llgive you a prime example right here. Great place for tourists and locals! Every time I visit Honolulu this is the first stop I make. They have everything from fresh fruit , bento, sushi and poke to souvenirs, beach chairs, sunscreen and beach towels. Great selection of beer, wine and saki too. Literally everything you need for a great vacation will be inside these doors and great prices. They also have fantastic, local food huts outside of the entrance for lunch or dinner. read more

While the selection was a bit limited at that time of day, I still managed to find some tasty options for lunch. The quality was good, and the convenience of being able to grab a quick meal on the go made it worth the visit. The ghetto Japanese version of Kmart. There was a creepy security guard hanging out near the entrance, oogling all the Japanese girls walking in. Ewwwwww. Macadamia nuts were relatively inexpensive here. Campbell's CHUNKY soup is also cheaper here than any other place I've seen. But is saving a few bucks worth being violated by the eyes of the creepy security guard? I say no. read more

I went to return a small appliance that I was unhappy with and I was treated like a criminal. After years of shopping at this location, I was very disappointed by the poor customer service I received and will never buy any appliance or electronic items at this location again.
