It was packed for a Wednesday night at Don Sarang. I thought everything was pricey especially since they charged $9 for Steamed Egg and $10 for Ramen, but you do get fried rice at the end. My friend wanted to try Don Sarang because they're one of the few places that offer Black Pork Belly, a Korean delicacy. If that's the only reason why we went there then I am utterly disappointed. A newer KBBQ place in Carrollton! The parking is... a little weird since they don't have parking in front of the restaurant but more to the side of the establishment by the bank. The restaurant itself is clean but the tables seem a little close together. The table is taken up mostly by the Korean cast iron grill so you really don't have much table space and due to your close proximity to the grill you'd be tempted to scoot back more. I'd recommend grabbing a booth for more space although there aren't many. Service was nice, they answered questions and checked up on us a lot. With the set menus they also grill the meat for you, unlike other places (ayce for instance). We didn't really have to worry about whether the food was cooked enough but we did have to wait a while for the food to cook since they did it by meat and there was 4 of us. Overall the quality of the meats was good although you aren't really getting full off the meats but rather the kimchi and beansprout fried rice and ramen that comes at the end. The ramen is quite small, 1 packet of ramen basically to split between 4 and the fried rice was the big filler since they add a lot of bean sprouts and kimchi. I always recommend to try it out yourself, they have a great samjang! The side dishes they also have are green onion salad, pickled onion, fresh jalapeño and garlic, and the grilled kimchi and bean sprouts, pickled radish slices. read more

Loved our experience here. They take reservations for parties of 6+. Restaurant could be bigger, most of the tables were for 4, and 4 tables for parties of 6. But because they have the grills, tables can't be moved around. They offer 8 different combination packages of beef and/or pork, but you can also order à la carte. Good selection of appetizers like corn cheese, steamed egg, and Korean pancakes, and more. They help cook the meat for you. At the end of the meal, they make the kimchi fried rice and also make a pot of ramen for the table. Everything was delicious! read more

This is a great new Korean BBQ spot (not all you can eat) that has fantastic food, great service, and great quality meats. No, it's not cheap but you can tell the difference in the quality and they cook on a cast iron grill as well. It's located on the back side of a building, kind of in an awkward spot with limited parking. Once you see the all white building with blue lettering, you know you're there. What we got: Beef combo B. Full of delicious, tender, high-quality beef cuts. Prime brisket, ribeye, rib meat, and boneless short rib. Says enough for 4-5 which I think holds true, given that you get kim chi, bean sprouts, fried rice, and noodles with it (save some room in your stomach) Side order of Pork Jowl: This was also delicious, albeit pretty pricey. I believe it was ~8 pieces of pork jowl for $30. Definitely good stuff, but almost would have opted for a full pork combo instead. The waitstaff was super nice and attentive and grilled/cooked everything for us. Keep in mind that they can get busy so you may need to flip some of the meats on your own. read more

This is one of my favorite new KBBQ spots! there are so many places to choose from in Carrollton and I think this place distinguishes itself with really high quality meat and the fact that they grill the kimchi and bean sprouts and then serve kimchi fried rice on the grill after you finish your meat. The parking lot is a little inconvenient--you may need to park at the bank or the parking lot across the small alley and walk over. When you walk in, there are a bunch of small round tables that seat about 4 people (not much space for strollers if you're bringing kids). The wait staff is efficient and attentive and do the cooking for you. We usually order one of the beef combos and add either pork belly or pork jowl à la carte. The short rib and brisket are my favorite! Overall, the food is really good but it is quite expensive. We ended up spending about $70 per person, so I will probably save this for more special occasions! read more

Don Sarang is probably one of my favorite kbbq spots in the area. Service is great, they cook for you, and side dishes are promptly refilled. I enjoyed all of the meats, but the standout was definitely the thick cut of pork belly. It was crispy, juicy, and had this porky essence that most places don't have - probably the best pork I've had in Dallas. The sides were also tasty and the sour kimchi paired extremely well to cut the fattiness of the pork. I also liked that they include ramen and fried rice at the end, which is different than most other kbbq spots. Highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you like pork. read more

This spot cooks on a cast iron grill so even though the meats weren't marinated, still pretty tasty. We ordered the pork combo A and then an order of rib meat. I wasn't a huge fan of the rib meat, though it was tender, it was pretty hard to chew because of the tendons? Overall the quality of meat was good. After your order of meats, they give you hangover ramen and fried rice! Orders of white rice are charged $2 per bowl. We didn't realize that you get fried rice after your meal so just keep that in mind before you order white rice read more

Quality of meat was good. They have combo selections to make it easy or order a la carte. The cast iron grill is definitely different and a nice touch because it makes the pork belly crispier and the fried rice at the end so much better. On that note, you don't eat rice during the meal. It's reserved for the end. They mix it with the red sauce and kimchi and cook it with all the juices and residue from the meat so it gets a ton of flavor. The sides were limited - so used to having so much ban Chan, and Don Sarang only had a few basic ones. We saw everyone get a salad but not us, so not sure if that's a separate thing to order or you just have to ask for it. Parking is limited. The wait can get long. They do take reservations though. And at least they're open all day, not just for dinner. read more

This is my favorite flat grill kbbq in dallas! Don Sarang's meat quality is truly amazing. The steamed egg is really yummy, but it's expensive compared to other kbbq places. I really like the pork and beef combo! I like that they include kimchi fried rice with your meal. If you get a combo, they also include ramen. Their side dishes pair nicely with the meal, and I like that they grill bean sprouts and kimchi on the flat grill. Our servers were always really attentive as well. Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. Place was very roomy and clean. Lots of tables all around. We ordered the Beef combo A, which was about $120 & came with 4 different beef options and included a small spicy tofu soup, kimchi fried rice & shin ramen at the end. We added the corn cheese & steamed egg and a couple bottles of soju. We loved that the skillet that was used did not get overly burnt, it didn't have to be changed out the entire time we were there. We also loved that our waiter also helped to cook and cut our food. So we just got to enjoy our time there instead of cooking everything. I'm only going with 4 stars because it ended up being really pricy. For the 3 of us and all the mentioned items, it came to $274. Also they didn't mention all the extra things we were getting with that combo, so we ended up ordering an extra thing of spicy pork kimchi stew, when we didn't need to. I like this place! I've been here twice in one week! Our friend introduced us to this place after an event and we came here to eat at 11pm. For a Friday, we basically had the restaurant all to ourselves. The four of us got the mixed meat (4 meats), soup, mushroom medley, and the combo finishes up with fried rice on the grill and ramen. It is a little pricey (all kbbq is pricey) but there's lots of food, good quality meats. The second time I came, I got pork jowel and prime rib, cheese corn, and egg souffle. All equally delicious. Something in the salad that's also really good! So full from sides and meat, We didn't even eat the rice. Even a la carte meat, you still get the fried rice at the end but no ramen. It's a family owned restaurant and not a chain so I'd like to see it do well. Service was good, chill spot. Parking is a little funky bc there's not many spots so if you park in the back you may mistakenly go into to the sushi place. read more

My family was in town and they wanted Korean BBQ so my friend introduced me to Don Sarang. It was my first time as well so I didn't know what to expect. Well, it was really expensive :) The concept wasn't all you can eat Korean BBQ, but you pay per dishes like a regular restaurant. The food was alright. Our waiters didn't seem too happy to be there, and they were rushing us as well. We told them we can cook the meat by itself because we wanted to feel comfortable chatting with and family and cooking the meat. They said ok, but still came back and tried to cook it, obviously try move us quick. We didn't like that. It wasn't too crowded when we came. And we ordered a lot, not sure why they were rushing us. This kbbq spot is unique because they cook their meats on a cast iron giving it a nice caramelized flavor. Their meat sets come with side dishes, soybean stew, fried rice (cheese costs extra), and ramen. We got the seafood pancake and steamed egg as well on the side. Overall, the staff is super friendly as they cook the meat for you and helpful as they were very attentive to our table and refilled side dishes quickly. The meat was juicy, steamed egg wasn't dry or burnt like other places, and the seafood pancake was crunchy on the outside with lots of flavor. They had informed our group that the evening had been busy due to an influx of customers after a tik tok video, but the way it showed especially from the short haired lady. The cherry on top was the fried rice as she set it, then blasted the heat. We were unsure of when to touch it but as she passed our table she informed us wait a little longer. First of all, shout out to the wonderful staff especially Andrew and Jun our server. I have celiac disease and so I have to avoid gluten. Andrew went above and beyond to ensure that I had a great meal and he even made me a personal kimchi jjigae with no soy sauce. I've been devastated since being diagnosed because I love Korean food and had yet to find a restaurant to accommodate me. But they did and were so knowledgeable on which items did and did not contain gluten and surprisingly a lot of side dishes and all of the meats were safe!!
