I highly recommend Donnelly Hearing and Air conditioning! We had a couple companies come out to give us quotes. Donnelly's quote was significantly less than the other companies. However, the quality of the product and the installers were top notch!! First, their lead hvac technician came to our house to gather all the info about our current unit, house sq. footage and number of vents. He spent about an hour and answered easily 50+ questions with patience, honesty and clarity! (I'm a big question asker with any repair person. How I'm responded to really matters to me!) The day of installation they came on time and worked tirelessly for most of the day only breaking for lunch. Again, we had more questions all answered with ease and respect. We were shown how to work new thermostat and they even set it up with our preferences. The workers always put booties on their shoes and everything was cleaned up upon departure. Donnelly recently installed a new furnace and ac unit in my home. I couldn't have been more pleased with the work they'd done, their attention to detail, and patience with my questions. Prior to the install, I spoke with Tom Donnelly, and told him that we had just had our hardwood floors refinished. I emphasized that I didn't want any damage, scrapes, or scuff marks as a result of the install. I was extremely impressed on the day of the install that the crew was prepared with cardboard and tarps to ensure that my floors were protected. They even took note that Tom was adamant about making sure that nothing can happen to our floors. Needless to say, this immediately put my mind at ease, and when the install was complete my floors were flawless. The day the install occurred. was 98° in the house. The crew worked all day and without complaint and stayed around to answer all my questions and offered tips to extend the life of the system. Moved into house in West Chester in October '21. Over the winter, we had some concerns about lack of heat to a few of the bedrooms, including where our toddlers share a room. An extra blanket seemed to keep the kids comfortable so we didn't worry much. Summer heat has been much different with a lack of air conditioning to the bedrooms. Donnelly was listed on the unit in the basement as the company that installed the hvac in 2019. In fact, the tech who came yesterday said he was here before and knew the system. Less than 24 hours after the service call, our house in 81 degrees and the air doesn't seem to be working properly. Made an emergency call to Donnelly and received a call from technician who was, apparently, in the development across the road from us. Rather than saying that immediately and giving us an ETA on getting here, he offered to "walk me through" some trouble shooting. If I wanted to trouble shoot myself, I would not have called. After going back and forth on this "trouble shooting" I told I expected him to be here asap. He said there would be a fee and charge for any additional time spent here. I told him I would be disputing that fee with a phone call to the office first thing Friday morning. He then refused the service call at all. I'd never heard of this company until I moved into the house and saw their name on the equipment. We've used a couple of other hvac companies in our past houses and have never had a customer service experience like this. The original tech was very professional and might have just mistakenly done something that caused a problem. All we wanted was for the company to make good on an issue they may have caused. The reviews I've read on here today have been mostly positive. Hopefully, this was not their regular manner of doing business. Needless to say, we will be looking for another hvac service provider for our future needs. read more

Moe was on time as usual wearing a mask. He is a professional. He installed our furnace in 2017 and has serviced it each year. Our recent problem was no no problem for him. He diagnosed and corrected a wiring problem caused by a surge in power. We will continue using Donnelly Heating in the future. read more

In this time of extreme heat and supply chain issues, Donnelly was able to advise us on the right replacement system, obtain the equipment, and install it promptly and efficiently. My AC quit in July when it was in the high 90s. Called on a Saturday and they came in 2 hours. Needed to order the parts but came back Monday when they arrived. They installed my gas heater and water heater 10 years ago and service them and my AC yearly. The guys that come are great. They are honest, knowledgeable and on time. read more

Last time we called Donnelly - we had a broken thermostat...and I couldn't figure out how to replace it correctly. The technician arrived. He spent 2 hours at the house. He explained that he didn't have a thermostat but could order one. Then he went to his truck to talk to a manager/supervisor. He came back and then said that in order to fix the thermostat he would also have to replace the module in the basement. The cost suddenly went from $200 to over $600. I told the technician that I didn't know much about HVAC but I did know when I was being taken advantage of. I paid for the service call (which resulted in no progress). Then I called horizon. Horizon came out and fixed the thermostat and confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the module in my basement. Thankfully - horizon managed to get it fixed without trying to get one over on us. read more

Donnelly HVAC just finished up a complete HVAC installation (Air Conditioner/Furnace and ancillary duct work) at my home and they did an excellent job. Tom and his team were prompt to respond; provided solutions; and had the most competitive price out of three quotes I received. I didn't feel the sales pitch or scare tactics from Tom that I know I was receiving from the other companies. Josh and Lou did the install and Lou is a true artist with his craft. He was able to do great work installing new ducts and working with my existing ducts to balance the air flow. Josh and Lou worked hard and was able to complete the job in less than 3 days. Horrific Nightmare Very unprofessional installation; extremely sloppy workmanship. Two control wiring mistakes caused system not to work properly. Air handler fan ran continuously, never stopped and AC would not operate in economy mode. Return air duct not supported from the floor; just left hanging. Caulking of of supply plenum very messy; looked like kindergartner's finger painting. Control wiring looked like a rat's nest. System very noisy upon start-up; Donnelly made very little effort to resolve the problem. Problem still exist one year later. Extremely poor customer service. They were actually very rude. Would not return phone calls or respond to emails. Very nice until they got my money and problems arose. I am a professional mechanical engineer with 40 years experience in facilities engineering and management. Worst contractor I ever experience both personally and professionally. Purchased a new Columbia boiler in 2013. Had a number of issues with the controller while it was under warranty. They came out and replaced the sensor, still had the problem. After repeated calls I was informed the controller needed to be replaced and I had to pay. read more

Can't quite say enough but they are amazing! No haggling, they sent an installer to make sure the quote was accurate. They arrived on time and gave accurate times and plans, were incredibly professional and clean and the install was beautifully done with extra consideration for the space since we didn't have duct work and they had to run all of that through the house and took a lot of our storage space in the attic but they went the extra mile to run across the rafters to preserve our floor space. We had a three year old Carrier heating unit. Called Donnelly and the found that it needed a part and it would be fully covered under Carrier warranty and I would just need to pay labor. The office called the next day and confirmed the part would be covered but my out of pocket for labor would be $623. I then ask how long will it take to install because that was a lot of labor. The person replied that she was not sure but she would need my credit card up front so she could send the installer. I assumed that it was a big job that would take all day to fix so I gave her my credit card. Josh came and installed the new part in 18 minutes. I saw the breakdown on the bill and told him that was not very fair to charge so much labor for such a quick job. He agreed your not the only one that complains about it. I called the office and explained that I thought the cost was not really fair. Both the office Mgr and then the owner explained that that's the way they do business. He is the exact breakdown of my payment of $623 -$129 to come and see what was wrong -$95 Processing fee -$38 shipping, but nothing was even shipped. part in stock. -$341 labor -$24 tax All for the labor that took 18 minutes They play the game of getting you to think its a big job and get the job prepaid ahead of time so you can do nothing about it. read more

I found my experience with Donnelly HVAC a positive one. At every level they are professional, courteous, and competent. They were also helpful in getting me a price break on a new air conditioning unit. In 2016 my 30+ year old central air conditioner had served me well. But when my equally old furnace bit the dust, it was time for a new system. I purchased a Goodman 16 Seer air conditioning unit along with a new furnace. In its first season of use the a/c worked well, although there were one or two hot days it was unable to keep up with the 72-degree setting for our 1,500 square foot house. I didn't think anything of it. After all, it was a unit I was unfamiliar with. The next season the same thing happened with the unit allowing the indoor temp to reach 78-degrees. The third season when it happened I noticed the fan pushing air through the vents but it was not cold. I called Donnelly. It turns out the compressor was bad. It cooled but shut off when the unit became overheated. The good news was that Goodman would honor its 10 years parts warranty and provide a new condenser. The bad news was that it would cost over $2,000 to install and Donnelly said that other aspects of the a/c could have been compromised. They suggested a new unit, an Amana that so far has done a great job. So our Goodman didn't last us quite three seasons. So I give Donnelly 5 stars but the Goodman unit they replaced only 2 stars. read more

Maybe you shouldn't have installed it if you cant service your own product. No service was never discussed prior to installation. They also originally contacted me about a service plan and then when I called back and they said it was a mistake I was contacted. Pretty pathetic business practice/customer service. Then the funny part is the lady on the phone is trying to advise me on who I should and shouldn't call. How about you do it if your so worried about it, gimme a break. Donnelly Heating & Air Conditioning went above and beyond the call of duty when our AC crashed in the middle of a heat wave in July. Their technician returned to the warehouse (after evaluating the problem) and returned with and installed two window units for us until their team could order and install a new HVAC system in our home, several days later. Tom Donnelly was a hands on owner and called us directly to make sure we were comfortable with the system we ordered and satisfied with the installation. The estimate and cost for the unit was most reasonable compared to several other quotes we received. Don't use Donnelly hvac located in westtown. they charge $100 to come to your home to give an estimate for any repairs. His "free" estimates are for complete systems only. they will say anything to get the big ticket project but will shortcut the installation. No discounts for regular customers. Very disappointing. Awful experience... Coordinated my son to be at our home to meet a technician between 10am and 2pm. as my wife was out of town and I at work. My son arrived at 9am. Around 11am I began receiving calls and also a email from Donnelly stating technicians said no one is home. These multiple calls and email were sent in a 10-15 time minute window. My son, his GF and my grandson were all there. Additionally I have 2 dogs who will bark when a pen drops and always run to the door on any type of a knock!! None of this occurred. I question what the Technician did to notify my son he was there. I have had numerous visits in the past from other service providers and you always heard a loud knock and/or multiple knocks...again had this occurred the dogs would surely have brought this to our attention. Whats most disturbing was the the followup conversation with the Customer Service staff. My wife ...who was also notified..called Donnelly from out of town and reassured them my son was at house. When we asked her to call my son to confirm the address and his availabilty.... her response was " We've called enough numbers already" I guess calling my wife and I was too much for them!! SERIOUSLY???? Wonderful customer service training ...LMAO Side note...In the past I have always found my dealings with their office to be short and curt additionally they seem to only want to force you into additional services instead of dealing with the specific issue I called about.
