Bryan came out to our home twice during a snow storm to ensure our heat was taken care of. That is a level of kindness and commitment I have never seen before! We have a brand new HVAC system that is about 1 year old (installed by a big HVAC company - worst mistake we could have made). The unit has stopped working at least 4 times since its installation so I finally called Middletown HVAC yesterday because it stopped working again. I called at midnight and Bryan (HVAC expert) was at our house in less than 30 minutes! He installed a new thermostat and went on to another house for a repair. Mind you, a snow storm is coming and he was out repairing units for families until almost 2:45am! The next day we realized the new thermostat stopped working, which is indication that something was wrong with our initial HVAC install (done by another company). It is the middle of a snow storm and Bryan had a SNOW PLOW bring him back to our house in the morning to fix the issue. It turns out the prior company incorrectly wired the unit and the thermostat was frying itself. Bryan ordered the new part we needed, fixed the wiring issue and turned off the fuse to the HVAC to avoid a potential fire. He was so kind and explained every step of the repair and the issues he identified. Other companies said they couldn't send techs out for several days but Middletown HVAC had Bryan out twice in the snow! I honestly feel like they care for their customers' homes as if their own families lived there, which is such a rare thing to see!

Their responsiveness made me feel like this is a project I want to hand to them plus their price quote was better than everyone else that got back to me. They quoted me $125 while everyone else had tossed $200-300 ballpark. We scheduled on my few days off so none of us would have to rush through this maintenance. I texted to confirm whether they were still coming down 24 hours prior to our appointment. No response. So I texted them again the same day to make sure he was still coming down. He finally responded and apologize. Then told me he'll be there in the afternoon. Mind you, we are a little further from each other but if the distance was a problem, he could've told me and I would've went with other options but again, the schedule was set. So I was already expecting him. It was starting to get late and still nothing back yet, so I texted again and ask if he would like to reschedule? He finally got back and said yes to rescheduling so since he seems busy, I told him to get back to me at his earliest convenience. It's now February 10th. Our date was January 26th. I still haven't heard from him yet. Not only did I feel like this was a bad tinder date, now the problem that I had with my water heater just became worst. The issue was a burnt smell from the water heater that requires a professional flushing. Now so it's prolonged some more, the heater has burnt right through. It went from a flushing to a whole replacement. I'm giving them one star for flaking out. Should've been more straight forward about not wanting to take the job because my $200-300 maintenance issue just sky rocket into well over $1000. Edit: It looks like the owner has responded and no, I'm not changing my review because there was a scheduling problem. I gave the company the right of way to give me a date because they seem like the busy one and I told them my complete date. I was waiting for them to get back to me about the date. When I hand a job to someone, I'm not going to look around until the company calls me and say that they cannot take the job. I was under the impression that they were still coming around. I have text messages that provide my communication process and the companies responsiveness. I'm not going to show it or anything because it's unprofessional. What else I find unprofessional is when a company text you after you wrote the review with a snarky tone, like I was the one who did something wrong. I'm definitely not recommending this company because if you give a little feedback, they make it seem like you were the problem. No thanks. Again, sorry maybe we were just not meant to work together but just take my feedback as something that you need improvement on. I'm the customer that you kept waiting. Not the other way around. He found a few issues with the system and replaced the refrigerant. The unit started to work again. About 30 hours later, the same problem occurred. Steve found a leak in the system and worked with his manager to locate the part. Unfortunately, the part was back-ordered. There was no target date for our unit to be repaired. The day this occurred, the temperatures went to 100 degrees. Not willing to wait or to put more money into the problem, we contacted Rob who put together a quote and sent it to us in about 2 hours. I ask him when he needed to know the model we wanted to install, and he told us by the next morning at 8: 00 am. My husband and I called Rob's mobile phone at 8:00 am. We told him that we expected that the HVAC unit would be installed by end of business that day. Much to my surprise, Rob said that the two units we were interested in were available locally. Not only that, he said that he pulled two guys from a new construction installation, and if I looked out my window, I would see two trucks outside waiting for him to tell them to come to our door to begin to dismantle the existing unit. I quickly went to our front window and they were there! Wow, now that was impressive! Not only that, Rob stopped at the distribution center on his way to the office and was at the site to pick up the unit that we decided on! Also pretty impressive. The installation was flawless. The three guys were great, professional, and efficient. I highly recommend McLoughlin for HVAC units. My expectations were extremely high, one might even say unrealistic. After the gas line was turned on, a gas leak occurred, requiring PECO to replace parts on the gas meter. Based on the PECO technicians' experience, they indicated that opening a gas valve too quickly can sometimes contribute to a gas leak. On the other hand, DiBiase explained that, in their view, the issue was not related to how the gas was turned back on but rather to the age of the PECO meter, which they believe would have failed regardless. To the company's credit, they discussed the situation with me and provided an additional year of free maintenance. While I appreciate their response and the added maintenance, I'm not convinced the installation wasn't a contributing factor. I hope they review their installation procedures to help prevent this type of issue from happening to future customers.

My wife and I bought a house in Havertown, PA while living in California. My local parents…read moreinformed me that the A/C was not working. My wife and I engaged with Borden as the unit is a Bosch and not all A/C companies service the brand. My wife gave the receptionist her credit card number and asked her to fix any issues and/or perform routine maintenance. She made this request because we did not trust my parents that the A/C was not working (user error more likely). We did not hear from Borden on the day of scheduled service. The next day my wife told me her credit card was billed $1200. Via text or email, the technician explained that my parents were using the wrong thermostat. The technician proceeded to place a float safety at the secondary drain pan and also recommended adding another return to the unit. He charged 300 dollars an hour for labor. His half hour drive was also billed at 300 dollars an hour. Let me be very clear. There was nothing wrong with the unit. My parents did not see a second thermostat. The technician then did 1200 dollars of work without consulting us. A float switch installation should not take 2 and a half hours by an expert. Three hundred dollars an hour is an expert wage. To top it off, a week or so later, our painter informed us the A/C was not working. My wife found a different company. That technician found that the float safety valve turned the unit off. The drain pan was full (good job Borden). When he purged the drain line, he found expected sludge and also PVC shavings and glue. So... Borden did a good job installing a float valve, but the shoddy workmanship contributed to a blockage. The new company charged $150 to clear the line. If I could give Borden zero stars, I would. I don't begrudge anyone trying to making a buck, but I certainly will never do business with them again.

In all honesty, the prices were not super far off - the recommendations, or lack of were the biggest variable between all of our proposals. This is kind of long, but like others have mentioned, the experience was so good that I wanted to make sure to take the time to give this feedback. 1. Borden was the only one who recommended a chimney liner in our new system. Which is important in the newer 84% because the temps are not as high as they used to be. But even more important in the 90% model where the water heater would be an orphaned appliance. Which is actually a pretty serious safety concern. 2. Borden was also the only one who recommended a new expansion tank and offered to cut back to the steel one if we wanted to shave a little off of the price. A number of places i looked said that the amount of new installs they see using an older tank is mind boggling. And there are numerous benefits to the new style including eliminating air, rather than just controlling it. 3. Borden was the only one to add more options ala carte, especially the outdoor reset option. I really appreciate the flexibility your proposal offers. 4. Borden was the only one who actually opened the boiler to make sure they saw it was leaking etc. Everyone else heard "new boiler", saw dollar signs and that was about it. 5. Borden was also the only owner to come out! Which i think is extra important when it's one of these big jobs where you are not only trying to get the customer set up with a good system, but start a relationship for service and maintainability in the future. Mission Accomplished. Finally, they took tons of time with me explaining how each component would be installed, and a very thoughtful and insightful explanation into why you recommend those pieces. Not at all in a pushy sales way. I'm really excited about our new system and it just so happens today is the coldest day of the year and we have invaluable peace of mind! It also looks like a work of art - the company absolutely takes pride in their craft and it shows.
