We have been coming here for years and the donuts have always been fresh with great service. Today we came in for the first time in couple months. It was horrible. Half the donuts were not glazed all the way. The cherry/apple burritos were burnt with doughy chewy centers. The filled donuts had hardly any filling. We are soo disappointed. The staff was a couple of different guys who were not friendly or very helpful at all. To top it off the restroom was absolutely horrifying. The staff is friendly and there is wide selection of donuts to satisfy any taste. The most important thing for me is that they are a local business. I like to support local businesses whenever possible. Their shop is located in Sparks so I can stop by while I make my commute to North Valleys Reno. Donut Bristo is great. They do it right! I love sweets. This place hits the spot. Yeah, I should be better but from time to time I will spoil myself and man I love getting sweets. It is usually very fast to be in and out of here because there usually isn't alot of people here. The donuts are good and they fulfill my sweet tooth. They are conveniently located to my favorite tire shop so everytime I go there I give these guys a visit. Parking is easy enough, there is usually enough parking. I have never had any real issues finding a spot. They have milk here! Yes, you cannot have a donut shop without milk. Number one rule for me. But lucky they follow my rules Haha. Great donuts! We were traveling to Reno and staying in Sparks city. We wanted to try some donuts and found this place via yelp. Had good ratings so we thought of trying it. Its located near a residential neighborhood. Finding parking was easy. When we entered the place was empty so we were served quickly. Found out that a lot of people get their to-go orders as someone was picking up 12 donuts, while others were picking up 1-2 like us. They have good seating arrangement so you can sit and eat your donuts with some coffee. All the donuts were on display so it was easy to choose. We got the classic donut and a custard filled one. Requested to get it warmed up and they did. I guess the guy who helped us was the owner. He was very friendly and was patient with all the customers. While leaving Sparks, we wanted to try it one more time but didn't got a chance. Will surely visit this place if we are back in town. Highly recommended! read more

I've passed by this place a lot and I finally was able to make it there. I came in around 10am and they still had a pretty decent selection left. The maple bacon was one that I decide to get and it was great. I also got a strawberry and a blueberry filled donut and they were amazing it tasted like fresh fruit rather than a jam I was very impressed. The sausage cheese and jalapeño kolaches are worth trying, I'm not a big fan of sausage but I can to find out that it was actually hot link inside and not your traditional breakfast sausage and I thought it was really good. I ordered 7 donuts 1 being a maple bacon and 2 sausage cheese and jalapeño kolaches and it's was less than 16 dollars, I was amazed. Donut Bistro This is maybe one of my Wifes favorites but on the most recent visits it was a spectacular experience. As we walked in, we were welcomed by two awesome guys whom was smiling an was very helpful. So we ordered a dozen an they had every donuts we wanted. One of my favorite are barvian creme and the maple donut with bacon that's a heavenly circle lol. But after we finished ordering they offered us a drink "Would you like a drink? Coffee juice soda? We were able to relax inside the establishment with her juice, an my coffee. They were very helpful an even asked if we needed anything which was pretty awesome customer service. With that said, I would stand up for this place if I heard someone mention their name. I would highly recommend this place and more to others, but a helpful tip... GET THERE EARLY!! I rarely give 2 star reviews, but this place was so disappointing. They have a nice selection of donuts, and in the case everything looks good. I got 3 donuts; glazed, chocolate frosted cake donut, and a blueberry jelly filled. $3.50 which is the normal donut price so no issue there. That's where the fun ended. The actual donuts were all stale. For a Saturday morning at 8am I was shocked at how tough and hard the cake donut was. The yeast donuts reminded me of the ones you can get in a grocery store or gas station. There are a handful of good donut shops in town, this one won't be getting any return visits from me. read more

Whenever I'm in the Reno area, this crew knows how to make my FAVS! And oh my goodness: The donut holes! I'm in the process of trying all of the donut flavors whenever I'm here in Reno, but I have to take it slow (so I don't tip the scales lol!) Why doesn't Sparks seem to have any coffee shops near the highway? There was a large national chain store which apparently has been gone for years, and then another one of those further out, but really nothing else in the area at all. It really surprises me that Victorian Square doesn't even have one! I was in the area a little early for a meeting and needed a place to sit down and do some work. A late afternoon cup of coffee could only help, so I pulled up my Yelp App and Donut Bistro was all that popped up. Having never been to one before, I figured it was my chance to check it out. I wasn't hungry and had no intention of ordering food, so I walked in, ordered a cup of joe and sat down. First thing I noticed, this was pretty good coffee for what had likely been sitting there for a while. It was rich and dark, great aroma and flavor, and very enjoyable. Then I glanced at the case filled with sweet treats, and saw the coveted Kolaches my foodie friends had been craving and raving about. This location seems to have them after the South Reno store runs out. The last thing I noticed before I sat down was the dirty booth. I took a napkin and wiped the sprinkles off the table and seat. Then I opened my computer and realized this spot doesn't have wi-fi either. I'll definitely go back to try some of their delectable treats, but I don't think I'd count this as a great spot to work from or even a coffee shop in the area. It's too bad because in a market with such a void, Donut Bistro has the opportunity to take over. But only if they want to! read more

I am a deal seeker and they have a good deal on donut holes. Donut HOLES!! I love donut holes! Most of the time I get there before 7 and they have a pretty good variety of donuts and items. Over the course of my numerous stops, I have tried the burritos. Sugar bomb diggity. The amazing donut holes! Blueberry and Chocolate cake ones are the best. But the other holes are good too. Their old fashioned donuts are the best I have ever had. These are the best donuts I have tasted in a long time. Fair price and very nice and friendly staffer.

What a gem this place is! The donuts and staff are amazing. Don't be intimidated if you get there and there is a long line because the staff are donut ninjas and they will move those peeps through lickety split. You definitely won't be waiting for long- but know what you want to order when you get to the front of the line. The donuts are this blissful combination of sweet but not too sweet with just a perfect amount of crunch and not greasy! It's clear from the first bite that they change out their oil often. I know- not a pretty thing to think about but a necessary item to consider when thinking about where you want to buy donuts. I have not had a single donut here I didn't like but I especially recommend the blueberry, glazed, old fashioned and buttermilk. OH! And the apple fritters. O. M. G. the apple fritters! It's both a blessing and a curse that this place is so close to my house. I want to go every single day! One thing to consider: parking lot can get a bit tight so park on the street if you need to. This is a new doughnut shop that opened at the corner of Greenbrae Drive and Pyramid Way in Sparks. The worker behind the counter helped a customer who came in after me before helping me. Jeez, they've got to be careful when they do that kind of stuff or they risk feeling the wrath of Yelp. I liked the place. I'll give it four stars because the donuts are pretty good, but I still think Jelly Donut is the best doughnut shop in Sparks. I got a cake donut with a cherry topping and nuts and a cherry bear claw. Both were good with tasty, soft dough. The filling in the bear claw wasn't just sweet. It tasted like cherry, although canned cherries. It opens at 5 a.m. Update: They have Chinese-style meat-filled buns as well as kolache, another meat-filled pastry. I love this place, not only for the donuts but for the workers too. Mostly younger guys, all really nice and sweet. Sometimes they run out of donuts, but that's because they're so good. I usually get the chocolate old fashioned because they're crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.... went there today and they didn't have and chocolate ones but they had regular glazed old fashioned. What can you really say about a doughnut shop that doesn't apply to just about every other doughnut shop? And to me, that's the conundrum, since there really isn't too much to say in regards to what makes Donut Bistro different, aside from perhaps, the quality. Everything is made fresh, and you are likely to see them restocking the cases whenever you happen to be stopping by. Their regular cake and old fashioned doughnuts are fried pretty much perfectly, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Same goes for their buttermilk bars, which are one of my favorite things ever. Like many other doughnut shops these days, they have maple-bacon topped ones, and these are pretty good, with thicker cut bacon instead of just the crumbles like other joints use. There are the sweet burritos, filled with cherry or apple and glazed. I really enjoy these, and there is a nice savory element in them that I've not had from other similar confections elsewhere. You can also get some big cinnamon rolls, bear claws, or jumbo donuts if you need something a bit more hefty to fill the hole in your gut with the hole in the dough. But what really puts them solidly in the four-star range are the Kolache's, savory stuffed pastries filled with meat and cheese. When you get the meatball and cheese one fresh, very yummy. Beyond the food, these guys have pretty good, fresh coffee always ready to serve up. Service has always been very friendly, and the prices for everything are pretty cheap. The joint is kept pretty clean, but the parking lot is a bit small and shares space with another business, so make sure to take it slow. Overall, this is likely going to turn into a place I'll be sure to stop by again when I need a bite on the fly. read more

These donuts look like any other in Reno -- except they actually taste wonderful. Sweet, airy, light, and no pathetic aftertaste. I've tried this place early on two different Sunday's past 2 months... The chocolate cake donut though was too intense and 1/3 of it could trigger diabetes if the moon if full. We came here because my bf was craving donuts. We got a apple burrito donut, a Bavarian cream and chocolate covered donut. All were fresh and delicious. Extremely soft and yummy. The apple burrito is phyllo dough with apple inside , it's unique yet reminiscent of an apple pie. Its quite tasty. Bavarian cream donut was a soft, fluffy donut but it lacked cream. it was a tiny squirt of cream in the center. I kind of expected a little more. The chocolate covered donut, was tasty. Extremely long and overdue review!! As a family we have been going to Donut Bistro for years and to be honest we have been there morning, noon, and night and we have never been disappointed. We usually get a dozen that we share 4 donut's each. I wish I could show pics but to be honest we eat them pretty quick. They also have Koloche I think that's how you spell it. But they are delicious my favorite is the jalapeños sausage especially for breakfast. But to be honest the best thing about this place is the people. Never again will we go anywhere else. We were on vacation in the Sparks area and wanted to get a quick breakfast donut. Man this place rocked with their selection.
