The tray crashed onto our table and spilled water, hot coffee, and creamer all over me, and our under two year old who started crying. I rushed over to check for burns from the coffee, but luckily it was okay. After the clean-up I was waiting to see if anyone might come by to ask if anything was needed, let me know if I could get more food since I wasn't entirely finished, or at least apologize and comp our meal. Unfortunately I didn't get any replacement food, and they brought the bill and mentioned that we didn't have to pay for coffee...$68 pre-tip was a little upsetting after our experience, even though I know accidents can happen... Of course, later on I smelled spoilt because of the creamer/milk that was still on my clothes after walking around the Farmer's Market...lovely...

My wife loves this place. As much as I love her, I do not love Donut Delite. The donuts are fine. They are not good. This is one of those spots that still charges you a fee if you're using a credit card on a small purchase. They are donuts. They don't cost much, and this feels like a penalty to customers who just want to stop in for a small bite. I might not have ever written about this spot, since it is generally not particularly interesting in any way. Yet, this morning, I stopped in to buy a dozen donuts for my students. The price is posted at just under $12. I asked for a random assortment of donuts in the order. When the order was rung up, the total was over $17!?!?! I asked why it was so much and was told that the larger donuts cost more and that the employee "had to" pick the bigger ones because they were out of the smaller ones. First of all, if it this was true the normal price should have been given anyway. But this was a lie, there were a whole bunch of small donuts sitting right there under the glass!?! I felt as if they were taking advantage of me, hoping to unload some of the more expensive donuts that hadn't been purchased earlier in the morning. I honestly didn't mind which donuts they chose, but they shouldn't charge me extra without asking me if I am willing to pay $5 extra. A $5 hike is way too much to be slid in without a discussion. I will probably go back because I live so close, and sometimes any donut will do. Yet, I'm not happy about how I was treated. I really hope that they are not handling more of their customers in this fashion. read more
