Donut King has basic donuts done right. We tried a maple bar and a chocolate glazed custard filled donut from here. The maple bar had a good maple flavor and the dough in both donuts was soft and chewy without being too oily. The custard was probably on the better side but I still struggle with the sweetness of American custard. The chocolate glaze was your typical chocolate colored, super sweet stuff. I wish more places would just use a chocolate like at Mister Donuts in Japan, but for a standard American style donut, I think Donut King does a good job. We would probably come back when in the mood for a simple donut. I might opt for the maple bar or an old fashioned next time. They also had some apple fritters and blueberry fritters which were looking pretty good. read more

Can I say blueberry delight? I have been on the quest for the perfect blueberry fritter. While Sesame Donuts has them, they only do at one of their locations which isn't particularly convenient. I've wanted a blueberry fritter for like a week and I typed into Yelp hoping I'd get lucky and did I come across a gem of a place. Donut King had a TON of blueberry fritters AND they had blueberry cake donuts. It's really hard to say which I liked more, but I honestly didn't have to decide because they have both. They also have a raspberry fritter which may happen on my next trip. This place has 0 ambience and despite being fairly large, I can only remember a single table, so don't plan on eating here. Definitely a new up and coming donut shop! The owner was there and gave us the lowdown on the donuts. The maple donuts were one of the best maple donuts i have ever had. I have driven by this place for weeks, and finally decided to stop by. I had been having some eh luck with donut places in the area, but I am so glad I tried Donut King! I was in a bit of a hurry to get to work, and stopped in to grab some donuts for the office. The store is very clean and open, and they were well stocked with a great variety of donuts. I asked for a mixed box, and got a great even mix of sizes, types, and flavors. The donuts were amazing! They were the perfect balance of not being too dry, while also not being greasy. Wow! Very tasty donuts. Very clean store. I've now been here twice on my way to work to pick up treats for my office/warehouse crew and they have been a huge hit both times. Let's face it, donuts don't require gimmicks or catchy names or funky shapes, they just need to taste good. Donut King does a great job of this. The display case is always filled with a bountiful selection of fried goodness that will appeal to most anyone! From plain cake to banana slices topped with caramel drizzle, you just cant go wrong. Donut King is one of the best finds we've had during the pandemic. My mother first went and picked up donuts when she was in town and we were so surprised with the variety and freshness. We have been back more than a few times and each time my husband and I comment on how delicious the donuts are. My go to is a plain old fashioned, but also love the glazed buttermilk bar. The last donut place we used closed, so we found this joint. So legit! $14 per dozen, and he threw in an extra couple donuts. Such a nice guy too. We'll be back for sure. read more

I've been searching for a donut place with good crullers for quite awhile. Both Donut Day and Voodoo stopped making them. This place makes them! And they're great! My son also said he thought the chocolate iced were better than Voodoo. That's high praise. Just be warned, they only make the crullers on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. read more

I have visited Donut King many times and always had a great experience. Friendly service and DELICIOUS donuts. But this time they went above and beyond!!! I went on Valentine's Day (it was snowing) to see if they were open I saw the family outside and asked if they were open they said they weren't but they still served me. I order donuts yesterday afternoon to be delivered this morning around 730am for my husband's bday. The don't delivery was flawless. However the donuts are disappointing to say the least. Was not impressed. The doughnuts are big, and many people confer 'goodness' to that one attribute. They are chewy, doughy, tasted of old, over-used grease. The maple frosting was tasteless, not cloyingly sweet, which would be a good thing, but it tasted as though it had been made with some flour in the mix, to keep it 'firm'. Not very good at all. The glaze on the glazed doughnuts had been watered down, and flaked off before it could be eaten. I wish the guy well, but I won't be back. read more

I just happened upon this gem of a shop whilst I was over in Beaverton, after a visit to a car dealership, a few months ago. I was in Beaverton again yesterday, for the same reason. Both times, I bought a dozen doughnuts. After my guilt subsided and I scarfed down a couple of delicious sugary circles of dough, I was so damned happy! The selection is great and the shop is immaculate. Additionally, the owners are such wonderful and kind people. I live in "The Couve" so I don't get to frequent the establishment, but if you're on that side of the river, GO TO DONUT KING!!! read more
