Donut obsession continues They did a custom order of donuts for my kid's birthday party, and they were an absolute hit!! They did custom colors (K-pop demon hunters themed, of course), and let me do custom sprinkles. People couldn't get over how awesome they looked!!

I kept reading about the incredible apple fritters at Donut Star. So, this morning, I tried one for myself. I have eaten plenty of donuts in my lifetime, even worked at a donut shop and featured one in one of my books. Without a doubt, Donut Star's apple fritter is THE BEST I have eaten. Absolutely delicious crunchy AND soft and filled with bits of real apple. Plus it's GIGANTIC! Got a few other treats...looking forward to those! (And the people who run this shop couldn't be sweeter!) The only problem is how close this place is to where I live...dangerous temptation!

My first time stopping in and they were awesome and so so friendly. Service was great, food was hot & fresh, and we even got some donut holes given to us just to try from the owner. I tried the ham, egg, and cheese, on a croissant and my boyfriend got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. They were huge! Will definitely be back and recommend this spot to everyone! read more

Decided to try donut star for the first time a few weeks ago. We got a box of donuts and croissants. The lady at the counter was super sweet and threw in a couple of bags of donut holes for our little kiddos. So I'm not a huge donut fan but my neighbor brought Donut Star donuts over this morning for a gathering. I was totally impressed! Fresh, light. She said the owners are family run business and just the nicest people. So if you wanna splurge and try a new place Oh and hear cinnamon rolls are great too!! This donut shop is run by the cutest and sweetest couple! I am always greeted so warmly whenever we come in. The selection isn't as extensive since their hours are limited compared to the other shop in town - but it's fresh, fluffy, and delicious! Their cinnamon crumble is *chefs kiss*! I'm going to be honest to you, the donuts here are your run of the mill kind, but what stands out is value and customer service. Each donut is $1.25 and they're enormous. My Boston Cream donut and Lemon filled donut are twice the size of a Dunkin Donut, and half the price of a krispy kreme donut. Krispy Kreme donuts are $2.60 each. The owners of this Donut shop are a cute elderly Chinese American couple. They're the most friendly people in the world, and I gave them $2 in tip because they deserve it. Donut Star is a family favorite. Their donuts are always fresh. The coffee is tasty, and the owners are so polite and friendly. I recommend the Jalapeño Ham and Cheese Croissant, bear claw, and Jelly-filled Doughnuts. They open early so they are the perfect place to stop before work. Food: Always always the best! My family's favorite are as follows: Ham and Cheese Croissants or the Ham and Cheese Croissants with jalapeños, Donut Holes, glazed donuts. Ahh writing these down makes me so hungry. You cannot go wrong with any of their donuts. Everything is always fresh and affordable too! May I add the coffee is always on point! Service: Ms. Jenny reminds me of my mom! She's the sweetest, kind, caring, compassionate and very very friendly. She treats me and everyone like family. I have been coming to this location for awhile now and always feel at home when we stop by and get our goodies. We always miss coming over, unfortunately we moved out of the area & can only go once in awhile. We try to come as often as possible though because we just love Ms. Jenny and Mr.Lee. They are so welcoming and loving. They always go above and beyond every time we visit. My son (4 year old) only requests to come to this location because he has to see Ms. Jenny and talk to her. Ambiance: Awesome and you feel at home. There's always parking and safe neighborhoods. Their oil is rancid. I was initially so excited because the texture of their donuts was fantastic and everything tasted so good, then the foul aftertaste of oxidized oil hit me. Yuck. Hopefully a one time thing and I'd totally try it again but do they not taste their product? Yikes. read more

Do you want best fresh quality donuts? This is above and beyond! How about best quality for best price you get in the area? Then you better check this place out. It definitely needs the crowds and support from the community. Me and friends would never go to other donut store in Tujunga/La Crescenta/Montrose area. We got what we paid for, it's not overpriced compare to fosters, yet left over next day still taste as good, showing that they are using best quality ingredients to make us happy!! What's the point of taking orders and providing a ready time if it's not going to be ready. I understand mistakes happen, but a simple I apologize would have made a world of a difference. This is what happens when companies grow too quickly. They forget about the most important thing, customer service. Won't be back to this location for sure.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this family owned donut shop! I am always welcomed with big smiles by the friendly owners when I walk in. The donuts are delicious and fresh with a large selection, and the coffee is so good. We have gone there for years.
