Went in really quick to get some donut holes and I will say that this is a café kind of donut shop. Nothing really stands out too much. I did see a fly moving around, but it wasn't near the food so I would say nothing too unexpected about a donut place and I guess it didn't seem bad. Service was OK and you could tell people we're just going along there regular business. Came here around 8:30am on a Saturday morning and was helped immediately. Donut Touch is a small mom and pop shop with a homey feel to it. There were definitely a lot more options for donuts than there were for bagels, but honestly I actually really appreciated the pricing. I was able to get an Everything Bagel with Jalapeno Cream Cheese and a Chocolate Donut with Sprinkles for a little less than $7. I've gotten a bagel at Breugers Bagels in the same plaza and that's the price of 1 bagel that's incredibly smaller in size, so the value here at Donut Touch is amazing! I liked that the Jalapeno Cream Cheese has actual chopped up jalapenos in it, it has a kick to it but it's not too spicy. I finally decided to check out this place and got a glazed raspberry jelly filled donut so I could compare it to another chain that sells a similar donut (K something...). I went right around noon and the donut still seemed pretty fresh. There isn't a huge variety, especially going later in the day like I did, so if you want something beyond the basics, you might need to go to one of those chains. The donut itself is denser than the chain store as is the jelly itself. They filled it with a lot more jelly but the glaze seems like a lighter coat compared to the other, a trade-off I'd happily take. It's also cheaper than that chain but more expensive than another in the area, but I suppose that's the price you pay for something "fresher". They do charge a 3% credit card fee, which you won't know until using the pad to pay, which is slightly disappointing. For that plus the slightly high price, I can only give it 4 stars. read more

The total came to about $27, which is very reasonable. I am very particular about Boston creams and this place landed in my top 3. If I had only one criticism, it would be this: the boxes are plain white with no branding or marketing. They should spend a little extra to get their name out there and be proud of their work! Can't help myself... if there's a good donut to be had, I have to try out for myself! Completely out of the way, I've been wanting to give Donut Touch a try! This donut shop is deep in the heart of Mira Mesa, at the edge of the strip mall where Aldi is, but it's worth the trip! I would recommend getting there early, when I say early, try like before 10 am! I have yet to actually do that since I was able to only make it here cause I was already in the area. Each time it was slightly after 10 am, but before noon. The second time I visited, they ran out of the two things I had wanted to get... a chocolate old fashioned and a filled donut. On my last visit my hubs came with me we were able to get everything we wanted! A chocolate bar, chocolate old fashioned, half a dozen chocolate donut holes, blueberry filled powdered and a sugar donut. The chocolate ones of course are my picks and my all time favs! If this was in my neighborhood, I'd only pick up a couple of donuts for the hubs and I for the day. But since it's not, I have to grab a few extras! The hubs favs are usually coated in some sort of sugar... powdered, classic sugar or glazed, which don't last beyond a day and best eaten right away. Luckily for me, my favs still taste good, a day or two later! I always eat my chocolate bar right away. The bar is best eaten the day of. The chocolate old fashioned, is still delish the next day, and the chocolate donut holes, still yummy after a couple of days! But that's just me. I have donuts for days! :) It is a bit expensive at over $2 each donut and you have to be early to have your pick from a full selection of donuts, (the old fashioned may be sold out after 10am!) but if I'm close by, I'll make a stop here. Parking is right outside and I haven't had any issues with finding a spot right away. Staff is quick and friendly. The donuts here are pretty tasty. If you don't come in first thing in the morning, you may not get the freshest or warmest donuts or pastries.. but they heat up well and are plenty delicious either way. The service here is pretty good, sometimes it's a bit awkward or off depending on how busy and who is helping at the register. It's a mom and pop type experience, in other words you go here for the desserts and food, not the experience. A few tables and smallish space for people to sit. Not the most comfortable if the line is long and people are stacked up against the seating area. Donuts are good 4.5/5 Krispy Kreme level good when fresh Bagels (according to wife) 5/5 she likes the onion bagel and everything bagel Value 3/5 they try to charge Krispy Kreme level prices, which discourages people like me from ordering more than a handful on each visit. It also discourages frequency of visits we are comfortable with. Yes, the sandwiches do use higher end meat (boars head) and the donuts are delicious, but you're in Mira Mesa... not Del Mar or La Jolla. Should price accordingly. Overall 4/5 this would be a 5 star donut shop if they didn't price out a big part of the community they serve. Donuts here are pretty great!! especially if you swing by before 7am when they are FRESH. But even by 11 AM, there's still a good selection to choose from. They've got cronuts, croissants, long johns, filled donuts, donut holes, and maple-bacon donuts. I've been coming here for years, and while the donuts are always delicious, the prices have spiked like crazy on a short time. Today the donuts are over 2.20$ each. I was actually pretty surprised with how much I liked my bagel sammich from here. They didn't have many options left since I came about an hour before closing time, but I still managed to order what I wanted. The sammich did get a bit expensive in my opinion, but they really stuff it so I was okay with it. All the ingredients were fresh and placed nicely around. I ended up trying one of their donuts as well and they were okay. Nothing special, but wouldn't be opposed to getting it again. This review is for their deli sandwich. I ordered a California Dreamin sandwich. The bread was so hard and tough to bite, it was also so thick. On top of that, they barely give you any meat, just one thin layer of deli meat. The service was also strange, the lady walked away in the middle of my payment and she didn't even have another task to do. I'll probably never order a sandwich again. Soft, chewy, slightly crisp exterior, a hint of butter milk, and medium sweetness with a touch of maple flavor. Superb, 10/10! Apple fritter: minimal apple pieces, but has an amazing crisp throughout the entire fritter. They should call this a crispy funnel cake donut. Remarkable, 10/10! Glazed, chocolate, blueberry, old-fashioned, cronut, and strawberry donuts: these are delicious as well. Simple but high-quality donuts, 9/10. Service is rapid, but if this was not the case, I'd still wait just to get these donuts! When this place serves fresh donuts, they are REALLY good. The coffee is really good as well. The employees here are great. They greet you right when you go through the door and are ready to serve you. Avoid coming in before 7 AM because the donuts are stale and may have been from the previous day. For the price of a half dozen, I expect the donuts to fresh and of excellent quality. Each worker here has always been so helpful and attentive! I arrived on a sunday morning around 8am and ordered 4 bagel sandwiches, a matcha blended drink, and 3 donuts. Everyone was quick and nice and the food is always delicious! The matcha drink was great as well, not too sweet! I would recommend this place to all in the area if you value kind service. It's kind of a random little joint in a strip mall, so i was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the bagels and donuts looked. My coworkers love the maple, chocolate, and plain cake and I got the cinnamon twist. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft & doughy on the inside. This place has great donuts! Much better quality then the big name places near by. I've been here at least 10 times. Their glazed donuts are big, fluffy, and delicious! Sometimes you can get them at the perfect time and they are nice and hot. Their apple fritters are really good too. They don't have alot of cooked apples instead but the flavor is still tasty. The cinnamon rolls are decent. Once it was a little over cooked and once it was a little undercooked. But still decent. Maple bars and filled donuts are solid. Very good quality. The cronuts are delicious too! It's a small croissant that's glazed like a donut. They also have fresh bread and bagels. Sandwiches too. The breakfast bagels and breakfast croissants are really good. Honestly, the organization needs some work. It seems to be a little chaotic sometimes. But overall, the quality of the donuts keep me coming back. Wow, one of the best sandwiches I have had! They freshly bake the bread every morning, and it makes such a big difference. I ordered the turkey club on everything bagel baguette. The sandwich included a choice of cheese, which I picked cheddar but they have Swiss and a few other options. It also had lettuce, tomato and red onion. All the veggies were fresh and crisp. Of course, they have some amazing donuts here as well. I usually call in my order and my sandwich is ready when I get there. I am greeted when I walk and everyone that works here friendly, There is plenty of parking as this is in a big shopping center on Mira Mesa Boulevard. They also also have other locations. PARKING: Located in a central shopping plaza, there is tons of parking in the lot, so you should have no issues LOCATION: Decent sized donut shop! They also serve sandwiches, bagels, croissants, coffee, and lox if you were in the mood for a hearty breakfast. Usually there's a line of 2-3 people but it goes by really quick. SERVICE: Service is nice and friendly! They are very quick to get the donuts as well as preparing your sandwiches. FOOD/DRINK: I got a maple bar and a sausage-egg-and-cheese croissant for breakfast. The croissant was buttery and flakey, the sausage was savory and delicious, and the cheese was ooey-gooey and melted perfectly in the sandwich. Of course, you can't go to a donut shop and not get donuts! The maple bar I got was fresh, soft, and sweet - just the way you expect it to be. I also highly recommend their blueberry donuts - one of my absolute favorites. CONCLUSION: One of the best donut places in the Mira Mesa location!
