One of the best apple fritters I have ever had. I lived in PQ for 15 years and this was a regular stop for a donut reward after gym workout. Anytime I find a new donut shop I always try the apple fritters because the ones here are so good it makes me want to try others and inevitably I always come to the conclusion that PQ donuts apple fritters are still the best. Years later I've moved out of the area, and the gym rewards are not as frequent but I still try to stop by on occasion because 20yrs later it is still the best apple fritters I've found Cash only is a bummer sometimes but not a huge deal. Store is very small and you can't really sit and enjoy a donut/coffee but perfect for a quick grab and go. Family owned and operated always friendly and happy to make suggestions. If you're in the area definitely stop by and grab and Apple fritter you will not be disappointed, just be aware if you go after 10 most days they are usually all gone read more

Cute tiny donut shop with one display case of the usual donuts. They have Bavarian cream maple or chocolate bars, twists, jelly filled powdered, cinnamon crumble, apple fritter, cinnamon roll donut and the rest are pretty standard. They had glazed donut holes which were big and super soft (half dozen for about $1.25). The guy helping me out was nice and there was soft r&b music playing. It wasnt busy at all and its in a nice plaza. I juat felt like an apple fritter so I made my husband get me one while we were on our adventure to starbucks. This place takes cash only. Booooo. Still the best donuts in town. Reasonably priced and easy to get in and out of. Super clean. Even with inflation, they haven't skimped on the size of their product which is greatly appreciated. Great local donut shop! Stopped in on a Sunday morning to grab a couple of donuts and donut holes. I was surprised to see them open on an Easter Sunday. I got a chocolate covered donut with sprinkles and a white chocolate donut with sprinkles. I also got 12 donut holes ($2). Doughnuts are good old fashioned doughnuts like I used to get as a kid in the 70's and 80's but the service was quite unfriendly. Prices are quite high now, too, since they raised them. When you start raising your prices and start taking customers for granted, some of them may decide to try other local doughnut shops. Then, your customer base slowly shrinks. Tasty donuts! Cash only! 4.5 round up for small business. Came by on a Friday at 9am and half the selection seemed gone. Ordered a half dozen mixed and it came to about $7.50 (included a giant apple fritter). The man working the counter was polite. The quality of the donuts was definitely there. There was no old oil taste that some donut shops have.. and everything definitely tasted fresh. I guess you have to come earlier (esp on a friday) to see what the selection is. About 1/3 of the three cases were empty.. Cake donuts were very fluffy and moist.. apple fritter was delicious.. buttermilk was to die for. Definitely a good shop that I can imagine returning to! One of the better ones in this area for sure! Give them a try! And fun thing is you can swing out and pull into the the mexican food shop next door via drive through for a hashbrown burrito. Yum. Love this place. They are always so nice and helpful. Donuts are fresh. Prices are fair. Place is clean. The only issue is if you order individual donuts you get a bunch of little bags to carry, BUT sometimes they have a reusable bag they can throw them all in for you, if not just remember to bring your own bag if you're not getting a 1/2 dozen or full dozen going to the same household! I think it maybe the only donut place in Rancho Penasquitos other than the grocery stores...so this is where we will keep going to! read more

Five stars because I'm pretty sure the first time I ever ate a donut, it was from here. This place has also supplied all the donuts I've ever eaten in high school homeroom when people brought treats. The people who work here are incredibly kind and when I am craving a standard, good ole donut but can't get to my fave place in North Park (Nomad), I'll drive 5 minutes to PQ. It's tucked behind the Cotijas Mexican food restaurant near their drive through which can be a little confusing but the shopping center recently upgraded the area with some better signage. Faves are always a glazed twist and a raspberry jelly. The owners are super nice and will sometimes even fill a donut w jelly or cream for you. read more

Donut or doughnut?? Eerrrr...English is sooo friggin' confusing. Anyway... before I picked up a bunch of donut holes for today's class, I stopped in yesterday to check out the prices and taste. Got one glazed donut w/chocolate. It was .90 cents. Not bad considering it was pretty big. Only gripe is that I wish it had more chocolate on it. This morning, I stopped by around 7am and got two dozen donut holes. It was only $2.50!! I just ate one on my way to school... and it was pretty darn yummy! The donut tasted fresh and kind of just melted in my mouth. Classmates even complimented on how good they were. So, highly recommend the holes!! By the way, a Chinese man works here and he's the sweetest thing ever!! I asked if the long donuts had creme inside and he said he could fill it real quickly and wouldn't take long at all. He also asked if I wanted two separate bags for the two dozen holes. Very accomodating and just all around awesome! I'll have to see if I can send him some more business. read more

I love donuts and this place does not mess around when it comes to appealing to the tastes of donut lovers. The donuts are moist and have the perfect amount of sweetness. I go there on the average weekly. It's a family owned business so nice to support locals and small shop business. My favorite donuts are the cake with sprinkles (oh so so good!), chocolate bar filled with custard (just gobbled one up as I'm writing this) and buttermilk (rich and dense). A good standard donut place. The donuts look fresh, at least in the morning they do, and the prices are fair. I got an apple fritter for $1.50, which is a good price being the larger size one.
